The Bartlett Inn

A roaring fire and good company in the living room, a soak in a hot tub under the stars after a day of hiking, a lovely room with a super-comfortable bed, wonderful breakfast in the morning...what could make it better? Nick and Miriam and their delightful daughter Sammie, that's what! The innkeepers are lovely and gracious and helpful. This place should not be missed.

Our stay was wonderful. We stayed in the Saco Cottage. We had our 2 dogs with us and they were welcome with no problems or issues. The Saco Cottage is a very cozy place. It would be a wonderful honeymoon getaway. Nick and Miriam are very friendly and helpful. Nick mapped out places for us to go. The breakfast they have is very filling to gve you a great start for your day. We definatly plan on going back and making this a must vacation spot.

Nick and Miriam have, from our very first stay with them several years ago, made us feel part of the family. Any feedback or suggestion we've had have been acted upon appropriately. They really go out of their way to provide an outstanding experience, both as innkeepers and as ambassadors for the White Mountain region. Very accommodating. They love what they do, and it shows.

This was our very first stay at a Bed & Breakfast, and it was fantastic! We initially booked a weekend trip to try skiing in New Hampshire, but unfortunately a skiing injury the weekend prior to our trip put a damper on any skiing for us during our stay. My husband and I stayed in the cozy Parker cottage, which was spotless upon arrival The innkeepers were very warm and welcoming and the breakfast served daily was an added bonus. Although we could not ski, we found plenty of other things to do to keep us busy. I would highly recommend a stay at the Bartlett Inn if you are planning a trip to New Hampshire, we will be staying there again in the future.

In addition to a lovely Inn with a cozy setting, we had some of the best innkeeper attention that we have had in 20 years of B&B accommodations. Just mention a desire or a need and Nick and Miriam are all over it! We loved our stay and would have enjoyed trying out every room. Quaint fireplaces or gas stoves set the tone for relaxation and winter warmth.

We booked at Bartlett in Jan 2011 at the last minute after cancelling our reservations in VT and were we delighted. We had lots of snow during the Martin Luther King weekend and loved The Bartlett Inn. Nick. Miriam and Sammie are great hosts and make you feel like long time friends. Our room was comfortable and cozy, the common room, very relaxing with an awesome fireplace and the hot tub a great way to soothe away the sore muscles after X-Country skiing all day, we used it every night, even with snow falling! Breakfasts were delish and Alice a great addition to the morning crew, always chipper and friendly. We are already planning on returning for another extended weekend in either Jan or Feb 2012, or, who knows, maybe both! Linda and Wayne Theriault

My wife and I stayed at The Bartlett Inn in the White Mountains for a mixed hiking and shopping long weekend in New Hampshire. The rooms are small, clean, well decorated. The innkeeper is very nice and prepared an excellent breakfast. Good value, we recommend.

I bought a new motorcycle and wanted to do some nice mountain riding with my girlfriend, and needed a place to stay for a weekend,after a google search we decided on the bartlett inn,We sure did make a good choice.My Girlfriend and i never stayed at a B&B before, Figured try anything once, and twice if we like it. Nick and Miriam made us feel very comfortable, and the room we had was great,Brand new AC, new paint, whirlpool bathtub, Very clean, I loved how they kept the older wood on the floors, and refinished them, Gave it a great look. The breakfast in the morning was awesome, and we made new friends from all over while eating. Nick was great about giving directions for some great riding, After riding, and hiking all day, My girlfriend and i would go for a nice swim in the bartlett`s inn well kept inground pool, I cant say enough about this place, Very homey. Although the outside could use a little paint and polish, I'll take the homey atmosphere,( hosts Nick & Miriam not only helpful, but treated us more like old friends) and the sparkling cleanliness of the inside of the cottage any day. It all contributed to all the guests being equally as friendly and relaxed, making for enjoyable chats at breakfasts, and a lovely mini vacation overall.

This was only our second bed and breakfast experience and it exceded our expectations. Nick, the innkeeper, was extremely nice and gave us recommendations for dinner as well as things we should see in the area. We had a great experience and will always try to stay at a b & b rather than a hotel.

My husband and I stayed at one of the housekeeping cottages on the property. The condition of the cottage was very poor compared to the pictures on the internet. Peeling paint on the outside of the cottage. A nonfunctional bath fan that made a horrible squeal when you turned in on and was full of dust. The whole cottage had a bad order like a mold smell, terrible for people with allergies. The kitchen floor was horribly unlevel and the cooking utensils were so old and dirty looking that I did not feel comfortable using the kitchen. All for the price of $225 per night. Not a good value at all.

We had a comfortable stay at the inn and enjoyed our time there, but there were a couple things we would have improved. First, the bedspread had some animal fur on it. Not much, and it looked very clean otherwise, so it may very well have gone through the wash and just had residual hair on it. We didn't mention it to the staff and just removed the bedspread. I'm sure the staff would have replaced the bedspread if asked, but for the price they charged for the room, I shouldn't have to find a bed with any amount of animal fur on it or have to notify the staff about it, since it should have been taken care of before we got to the room. The only other complaint was that the hot tub attached to the room didn't have any operating instructions, so we didn't get to use it the night we were there, since we didn't know we needed to plug it in earlier in the day to use it at night (it had to warm up), and that wasn't specified by the owner. Other than that the stay was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a nice size. The fireplace gave the room a very cozy feel and kept the room at a good temperature. The breakfast in the morning was very good, with a couple of very tasty options. There was a very nice common area, and were we staying there with a group it would have been a great place to talk. Overall it was a good stay, but compared to the other B&Bs we stayed in on our trip, it cost much more than the value we received.

We appreciate your feedback. This is the first time in 8 years anyone has commented negatively on our housekeeping. We have reviewed this issue with the housekeepers to check the bedding even after it is laundered. The spa tub in the cottage does not have an electric plug. It is a single person jetted tub that you fill with hot water whrn you are ready to use it. There is a button at the end of the tub you push for bubbles and that is it. We wish you had asked if you did not understand how to use it -At check in we always go through the operation of the tub, fireplace and other utilities. We will now leave instructions in the cottage for future customers. The price on this 2 room fireplace cottage with kitchenette and spa tub is a great value. Especially considering you received the romance package at no cost for your special evening and it costs the inn $25 to provide. If you have any concerns in the future speak to the owners as we always like the oppportunity to put things right immedeately and not after the event - it doesnt help anyone.

We stayed at the Bartlett Inn for the first time 10/1-10/4/10. Our expectations were exceeded. We stayed in the Carrigian Cottage with our large two dogs. The accommodations were quaint, warm, and wonderful. The woodburning fireplace in our cottage took the chill off the nights. The kitchen was the right size to fix a small meal or snack. Everything was so clean! The grounds were lovely; the Inn sits back off the road so everything was quiet among the towering pines and maples. We'll be sure to come back to the Bartlett Inn the next time we plan our trip to the White Mountains!

We really enjoyed our stay. If we ever go back to Bartlett, we'll be sure to go back to this B&B. It really was a lot better than what we had in mind, and the hosts were very friendly, helpful, and nice.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. We had driven far to get to Bartlett and were glad we stayed here. The host was great and the breakfast was made to order. Out two weeks wouldn't have been as enjoyable without the Bartlett Inn.

The innkeepers were fantastic: super nice and super helpful. We stayed in the least expensive cabin, and it was tiny but otherwise quite comfortable. The room and bathroom are a little bit run down. The decor is tasteful and well pulled together. Breakfast was excellent. You can't beat the location for visiting New Hamphire's White Mountains.

We loved the Bartlett Inn - the innkeepers are terrifically helpful, and the property is gorgeous. Nick was especially helpful in giving advice about where to hike and swim, where to eat, where to bring the kiddo. We will definitely be going back.

We called 48 hrs ahead, arranging for just one night of the weekend, and bringing along our 2 1/2 yr old son -who would take us? The Bartlett Inn, that's who! Sometimes the last minute finds are the best discoveries of all - and that's just how we feel. We enjoyed the pool until dark, warmed up by the campfire while meeting new friends, "rocked" out on the porch while seeking refuge from the rain, slept peacefully in our beautiful room, and stuffed ourselves with the yummy breakfast and perfect cup of morning coffee. I cannot say enough about this place! And to feel so at home and welcome with an active 2 1/2 yr old boy - well, that's not easy! Thank you Thank you! After vacationing in nearby Jackson, NH for over 30 years and staying in almost every accommodation there in every season, we wanted something less commercial and pricey for this trip. We found it in the Barlett Inn, and I can say without reservation that it did not disappoint. From the first moment that I spoke with Nick on the phone, I knew that it was the kind of place that we used to enjoy before Jackson was "commercialized." Not only did Nick and Miriam make us feel more like family visiting than paying guests, they also keep a very warm and inviting inn and cottages. There are several new restaurants in the area which we enjoyed (However, our overall favorite recently closed.). The hottub was a feature we truly enjoyed after hours of snowshoeing (Nick suggested a trail), and two full days of skiing at Bear Notch and Bretton Woods -- our new favorites. I can't wait to go back to the Bartlett Inn.

I cannot say enough about Miriam and Nick - they were extremely friendly and helpful both before we arrived and throughout our stay. Breakfast was prompt and very good, our room was clean and cozy, and Miriam and Nick recommended great places for dinning and daytime activities that were well suited to us! We have already recommended the Bartlett Inn to friends and family and look forward to returning ourselves!

We just spent a long weekend with Nick and Miriam during the fall leaf season and they made our trip special. They were very welcoming to us and our dog, which was very important to us. Nick also goes out of his way to make sure you have plans for activities each day while you have breakfast. We are new to hiking and Nick's personal expertise was a huge bonus to make sure we found the right trails for us every day we went out. He also gaves us loads of frank restaurant recommendations for each evening. Breakfast was great with a nice variety and the cottage we stayed in was clean and spacious. This was the first time I felt we got something extra at a B&B beyond just a place to sleep.

We had a fantastic honeymoon at The Bartlett Inn. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast while innkeeper Nick sat down and helped us plan our day. Great hiking, spectacular waterfalls and views. We also went kayaking on the Saco and enjoyed winding down in the heated pool each night. The Bemis cottage was cozy and romantic. We could not have picked a better place for our Honeymoon! We are already planning our 1st Anniversary trip back to the Bartlett Inn.

Our stay at the Bartlett Inn was fantastic. The Inn Keepers, Miriam and Nick were gracious, hospitable and very helpful in finding things for us to do. My children (14 and 11) had a great time in the new heated pool and making smores at night in the fire pit. Breakfast everyday was your choice of either eggs anyway or the special of the day. I wish I had the nerve to ask for both because it all looked and smelled great (didn't want to be high maintenance)! All the bathrooms were brand new and very clean and the rooms were spacious and quaint. We can't wait to come back next summer!!!!
