The bathroom for the Italian Suite in Residence 102 is really amazing with the double showers, double wash basins, jacuzzi and floor heating.
Residence 102 is the house with the red doors. You can miss it.
This is our new Studio in Residence 102 with private bathroom and toilet. Also suitable for families with children as there is an extra bed. Max. number of persons is 4
Our city apartment in Residence 102 is booked by groups and families. It is suitable for up to 5 persons.
The Italian Suite in Residence 102 is famous. It has a splendid view on the canal, is light and spacious and has a spectalar bathroom.
Walking out the front door of Residence 102 you are immediately in the center of the city, just 5 minutes froms the shops, restaurants, cafe's, bars and terraces.
Residence 102 is situated just at the crossing of 2 canals (The Herengracht and the Nieuwe Rijn gracht). It is just behind the little stone bridge on the left.
This is our own kitchen in Residence 102 with terrace. Here we have chats with our guests.
There is so much to see and visit in Leyden (Leiden). The port, windmills, flower fields, Pilgrim museum, birthplace of Rembrandt the painter, historic buildings and canals. You can spend the night in Residence 102 and visit all of these places.

Residence 102 is situated in an old house (canal mansion) in part of the city which was founded in the early 1600's. It was renovated in 1998 but old details are still present. Last year we renovated all the rooms again and turned them into modern guest rooms and apartments. We have 43 rooms available in Residence 102 in Leiden: * The Italian Suite * The Studio * The city apartment The Italian Suite has a splendid view on the canal, is light and spacious and has a splendid bathroom with double showers, double washbasins, a jacuzzi and floor heating. The city apartment is on the ground floor and has a seperate bedroom, fully equiped kitchen, living, dining space, bathroom, toilet and little terrace. It is modern and in bright colors. The Studio is on the 1st floor and is spacious with romantic details and some typical dutch antiques. Leiden is the birthplace of Rembrandt the painter, the Pilgrimfathers first went to Leiden before setting of to the United States and the dutch Royal Family all went (and still go) to the oldest university of the Netherlands, the university of Leiden.

Ingrid and Leon are to MOST hospitable people we have ever met. Due to a glitch in our reservation, we arrived a day early on the most crowded weekend of the year (Queen's Day). Rather than sending us on our way, we were given our host's private bedroom! We moved to our reserved room the next day. We were in the far upstairs suite. It is gorgeous, light and very comfortable for a 4 night stay. Breakfast s were a delectable mix of foods,served buffet style. Residence 102 is cozy, tall ( read ,lots of stairs)perfectly maintained and hospitable. If Ingrid and Leon come to Colorado they will be welcomed into our home as FRIENDS!

Thanks for a wonderful retreat in a romantic and yet vibrant town. The place was a welcoming spot for us to return to after a busy day. A cousin recommended this place, and sure enough, it was perfect for the 5 of us! If we needed anything extra, Ingrid was always ready. It was clean and bright, and anyone would be happy to relax here. Thank you, and hope to see you again!

Why stay in Amsterdam? This B&B is excellent, a 15 minute train ride to Amsterdam and 30 to the Hague. Besides, shopping in Leiden is great. Residence 102 is in a perfect part of town, very clean and breakfast is great. Leon and Ingrid respect your privacy, and offer good suggestions on local dining. They have cable tv and free Internet too.

The NY Loft
The Loft is on the upper floor and has a seperate bedroom with queensize bed, shower and wash basin. The livingroom has table, chairs and couch and a lovely roofterrace. It is possible to add extra beds or change the couch into a double queensize bed. Max number of persons: 5 Roomprice is 105 euro for 2 persons, extra persons is 30 euro each.

The Italian Suite overlooks the canals and is on the front of the house. It has a double bed, table, chairs and a washbasin. The atmoshpere is baroc and royal like. In the main bathroom you have your private shower and sink which you do not share with the other room. The jacuzzi is shared with the other room. The price is 89 euro for 2 persons, for extra person the price is 30 euro per person.

Close to bus routes, easy to get to shopping area where we found a good butcher shop, fishmonger, cheese and boulangerie not to mention a grocery store with organic foods. Hosts were gracious enough to talk with us while they were having dinner and to say good-bye early in the morning when we left. Ingrid was helpful in finding the hours of a church we wanted to visit and suggesting a Belgian bar for the array of beer. Museums were especially well done with good signage. Don't miss the Botanical garden. It's a treat for flower lovers and gardeners. L&M

We have tried virtually all the hotels and several B&Bs in Leiden over the years but this is the best by far. The rooms are much larger than expected and very beautifully furnished. Guest bath (shared) is great. Location is perfect and offers a canal view. Ingrid and Leon are very accomodating. This will definitely be my home away from home when I return to Leiden.
