    Fantastic accommodations. Very accommodating host!

We traveled to Europe in September 2010, and first stop was Amsterdam. What a great place to stay. Little hard to find, but worth the effort. Very clean, comfortable, and secure. Full kitchen for your needs. Owner lives in the house next door, so help is close at hand. Highly recommended. Russell & Nataliya, Kelowna BC

There is a bakery with the aroma of fresh bread; there is a nearby Egyptian Deli with terrific Hamburgers; the Jordan is a short walk away; the tram is easy to get to; there is no language barrier; Museums and historic sites are all around; the Dutch send painters into the sky to paint clouds; the pea soup is nourishing and the raw Herring is as good as Sushi; It's safe and serene...and added to all of this are Jan and Gelske and their B&B, which makes all the wonders of Amsterdam all the more splendid. Go to Amsterdam for the art and history, and stay at Het Wittenbed for the value, the friendliness, and that inexpressable gift Jan and Gelske have for making their guests feel comfortable.

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. I wasn't sure what to expect. I could see from the website that it was someone's apartment. So I wasn't sure how that would work, exactly. Jan is the owner and he is fantastic. He couldn't meet us when we arrived but left directions for us to get a key and open the door. He met us later that evening and gave us ideas about what to see and some maps. Each morning he put out a simple breakfast. The value is fantastic. It is much more personal than staying in a hotel and you have a lot of space. It is a 2 bedroom apartment and so there is a lot of room and privacy. The location is not downtown, but a mile or so outside. This made it nice and quiet, but took a little more planning. Jan also lent us his bikes and that really made the trip special. Amsterdam by bike is HIGHLY recommended. We will stay here each time we pass through Amsterdam and we recommend it to others!

The bed and breakfast was fantastic, nice, comfortable, in a excellet area. The breakfast was perfect, with coffee, milk, different cheeses, jam, toast, mermelade and fruits. What can I say about the owner?. He is kind and efficient. He offered us all his help for visit the city and gave us bicycles. I hope to come back and no doubt I'll stay in the same place.
