The Burmanstraat is a nice street, which ends up at the river Amstel. Here you will find a choice of houseboats and, on the other side, the old town hall ‘Overamstel’. The subway will take you to the heart of the city in 5 minutes. You can easily walk to important attractions like Carré with the ‘Magere Brug’, and De Pijp with its Albert Cuyp. A (rented) bike obviously is the ideal means of transport in Amsterdam. Yet you don’t have to leave our neighbourhood, Weesperzijdestrook, if you are looking for a nice outdoor café, pub or restaurant where you can take breakfast, eat lunch, dine or have a drink. From the famous journalist pub ‘Hesp’, to the lovely lunch address ‘Aan de Amstel’ . From the ‘golden’ outdoor café of ‘De Ijsbreker’ to the good kitchen of ‘Van de markt’ . From the two star ‘La Rive’ in the Amstelhotel to the Spanish/Portuguese tapas : on the Weesperzijde you will find them all.

Terms and Conditions

  • Cancellations: A small business such as Bij de Amstel is extra vulnerable for (late) cancellations. That is why we apply the following rules: If you cancel more than a week in advance, there will be no charge. If you cancel between one week and 48 hours before the reserved date, we will charge 50%. If you cancel less than 48 hours ahead, we must charge the full amount. We will send you an invoice of these cancellation costs via email, so that you can request compensation from your cancellation insurance. Note: A smaller charge, or no charge at all, is payable if we can still rent out your cancelled room to someone else for the entire or part of the time period for which you made your reservation.
