    Signature Dish

    Crepes
Ingredients: 2 large eggs 1 cup milk 1 cup Bisquick 2 tablespoon vanilla syrup Beat with hand mixer until smooth While preparing batter warm 10 inch ( with 8 inch flat bottom) skillet on medium heat. Before each crepe, spray skillet with Pam to help keep from sticking. Pour a little less than 1/4 cup of batter into skillet. Swirl until batter covers bottom of pan. Takes about 2-3 minutes to cook. Loosen sides and flip into second larger skillet ( on medium low heat) to just brown second side. Makes 12-14. Stack with paper towel between crepes to prevent sticking. Fill with any desired filling. We use a light custard. We top with sweetened fresh fruits thickened with corn starch or powdered sugar.

We were here for a week-end with friends for a foootball game. From the moment you enter, you know Atwood House is something special. Warm cookies and fresh brewed iced tea start your visit. Ruth and Larry greet you as family friends. This hospitality is extended throughout the week-end with bot es water, sodas, more baled goods, iced tea or coffee, even "movie candy" for your pleasure. The rooms at Atwood are fabulous! We stayed in the Frank Little Suite. I highly recommend this room. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, exquisite linens. The room was quiet, spacious, huge bathroom with both tub and step in shower, and a large sitting area for reading or relaxing. The breakfasts were tremendous! Fresh fruit, heart-shaped muffins, and house specialty egg dishes. The presentation of the dishes was also marvelous. We didn't need to eat lunch either day! The house itself is a wonder. I don't know how Ruth and Larry keep it so immaculate, yet cozy and inviting. You really have the run of the entire house. The staircase is so elegant, wedding photos and weddings are held here. Having stayed in B &B's around the Big 10 and in other parts of the country, I can tell you Atwood House is one of the very best.

A wonderful escape from the big city!!

This is by far one of the best Bed and Breakfast's in Nebraska. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating to all of our requests. Ruth recommended the Green Gateau' for dinner, which is only 5 minutes from the B&B. Larry gave us a full history of the home and a grand tour! We stayed in the Atwood suite which is located on the 2nd floor of the home. The Atwood suite is 800 square feet of pure comfort and relaxation. The roman bathroom and jacuzzi are very romantic. My wife and I were able to light the fireplace, choose a movie from their extensive library, and let the world slip away. Further, Larry prepared a full three course gourmet breakfast of coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, pineapples, homemade muffins, and chicken cordon blue omelets. Overall, if you are looking to escape for the evening I would highly recommend the Atwood House in Lincoln, NE. Sincerely, Dr. Thomas & Lindsay Rzemyk

We've stayed here twice over the past 4 years but have tried to change our schedule around as we drive between Denver and NJ. The first time we loved it so much we stayed an extra night (never did this before). This past week, we stayed only one night, but determined to plan to spend two nights next time. We've stayed in several B&B's across the US and have found most to be lacking in service and quality. There are only a couple that meets the high standard that we would want. Out of these two, The Atwood House is the absolute best! Most B&B quests that we talk to have said that this was their first time in that B&B. At the Atwood, most of the guests we talk too say that they have been coming for years. We will be back and we always tell our friends who are traveling through Nebraska, that the Atwood House is not just an alternative to staying at a Hotel, it far exceeds the value!

It was truly an amazing experience. They made us feel like we were at our own family home. We didn't want to leave.
