When life is just too busy, you need a place to reclaim your boundaries, recover from the constancy and demands of life, and settle in to be truly restored. In addition to the historic Leavitt House, Cottage House, and Lakeside Cabin, you will find a lake, prairie, trails, creek, and 100 acres of privacy. We welcome you for a romantic overnight stay, a wedding, group meeting, reunion, or birthday party. You can even rent out the entire house (sleeps 16)! Our 6 bedrooms are each uniquely decorated, and reflect the character and charm of the historic house and of the farm setting. Direct access to the beauty and tranquility of God's creation. Wildlife, the freshness of nature, and the quiet solitude of brilliant sunrises and Golden Sunsets offer you a bountiful harvest of memories.
Offers our best view of the 3 acre native prairie just outside the front yard. This field has never had a plow put to it, and yields some of the most spectacular bouquets of native flowers in the area. Also has a view of the farm's original gambrel roof barn, field, and woods. The king bed is our finest sleeping mattress. Original wood floors and beautiful woodwork. Optional private bath...whirlpool tub, black marble tile surround.
Are you a writer, composer, or dreamer? This is the premier private place for you. You will have an unlimited view of the 3 acre prairie, converging woods, field, and skyline. Here you will find the solitude and rest you need to re-create or organize your life. Features a full-size antique walnut bed and furniture and includes sofa sleeper for an additional 2 guests. Adjacent living room and bath with claw-foot tub and separate tiled shower.
In a secluded, quiet corner, you will be enlightened by the history and process of moving 'this old Leavitt House' and its assimilation into the Francke Farm. Its simple elegance (including a king-sized slightly firm mattress) is a theme for the Prairie Creek Inn. The close-up view of the facility's woods—walnut, ash, hackberry, and pine, is enveloping and comforting.
The theme of the cedars is just that—aromatic red cedar. The cedar bed is the creation of Bruce Stahr for Maureen's wedding gift—and is a king Select Comfort; beams above and trim in the cathedral ceiling are also made of cedar. Includes sofa sleeper for an additional 2 guests. A stunning private view of the acreage woods and even a peek of the lake are available when you're not gazing at the stars or the brilliant sunrise the next morning!
This room offers a feel for what the early settlers in the area may have experienced—queen bed, rocking chair, pedal sewing machine, and humpback trunk. This room also has a great secluded view of the Francke Gardens. Private bath with 6-foot claw-foot antique tub/shower available.
Named after the working farm that has become Prairie Creek Inn, this room offers a great overall view of the facility: Brilliant sunsets, view of the side yard and (future) gazebo, lilacs, garden, prairie, and a beautiful night sky. Queen-sized bed and comfortable accommodations will provide a memorable country experience.
Main floor suite includes spacious bedroom, private bath with corner jacuzzi tub/shower, and private covered porch for viewing spectacular sunsets and stunning star-filled night skies. You also have access to the living room, wood stove, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and extra bathroom. A sofa sleeper allows you the option of 4 total guests. Aunt Laura, who lived here for decades, never had it so nice!
Second floor suite includes 2 spacious bedrooms, private bath, and your own huge balcony. This suite is accessed by awesome original steep radius staircase or easier outside stair access via balcony. Rooms are very cozy with knee-walls and angled ceilings. Shared access includes living room, wood stove, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and extra bathroom.

My wife and I came here for the first time for Valentines day, 4 days after our anniversary the year they opened. We have since become good friends with Bruce and Maureen and enjoy their hospitality and accommodations. We have been blessed to stay with them many times now and have always been blessed by the time away from the daily hustle and bustle. We look forward to many more visits and continued friendship! We highly recommend Prairie Creek Inn Bed and Breakfast!

This was a holiday gathering for 11 of us from an organization. The innkeepers were very wam and welcoming for our tea and tour. They even allowed us to bring in our own soups and enjoy our gift sharing in their beautiful home! I would highly recommend this very informative and heart warming experience for anyone.

We had a shopping day with 9 friends! We loved the cabin where we stayed. Bruce was so accommodating from the time we booked the trip through to the facility tour after breakfast. We rented the whole cabin...it was dang near brand new! The beds were comfortable and both gas fireplaces were on when we got there! There happened to be a full moon and of course we sat under it looking at the lake to the east. And then again in the morning with sun...up....beautiful!

Our hosts were very welcoming, their home was comfortable and the grounds quiet. We were there on a night when the skies were clear and the fireflies were out, on the last night of a 2 week roadtrip. Very relaxing before the last days drive home. It is family friendly and we would like to return.
