Why did we ever go home?

    April 01, 2013

We recently spent 2 nights at this B&B in the Emerald Room (photo above). We were greeted at the door by the owner and the hospitality didn't stop there. Our GSD puppy was welcomed and allowed all over the lodge, making her stay just as enjoyable. The view was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. I love breakfast food and theirs was done well..even brought to your room, on request! :) We will definitely stay here again. Great for kids and families, as we shared the lodge with many others.

    Wonderful Mountain Retreat!

    November 25, 2012

I recently stayed at the lodge for 2 nights in the Ruby room. It was so wonderful! I arrived in the early evening only to witness a beautiful Smokey Mountain sunset from the front porch of the house. The house was bustling with families, couples, pets, kids and workers. After getting settled into my spacious room and napping on the most comfortable bed, I headed up to the restaurant for dinner. The food was a great mix of home-style cooking and restaurant quality. The only downside is it took a while to get the food, mainly because I know they were making it from scratch. There is a great patio on the front of the house for lounging or dining, a rec room downstairs, and huge living room upstairs all full of wonderful antiques and games.

Awesome 4-day stay at the mountain lodge

    November 20, 2012

My wife and I really enjoyed our time in North Carolina just south of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and especially at Nancy and John's lodge. I would swear that we stayed in the park itself. From the lodge we had easy access to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, great microbreweries in Bryson City and Sylva, the Polar Express train ride, a casino in Cherokee, 1-on-1 pottery lesson for Ruth, and wonderful scenic driving. But we could have easily spent more time at the lodge itself, with the accommodations as they are and the hospitality of Nancy and Tisha. There are two large and eccentrically-decorated gathering rooms, and the guest rooms themselves are appropriately decorated to match the surrounding geography and history. Nancy has some interesting stories to tell, too. The dining is great . . . Tisha prepared rib-eye dinners for us one night, and shrimp the next. Breakfast is on par with dinner . . Excellent! Eggs, cereal, meats, OJ, waffles, pancakes. (Be SURE to try the pancake(s).) When I'm healthier (recent surgery) and when it's warmer, we'll be sure to visit again, this time with bikes and hiking shoes in tow!

    November 16, 2012

Awesome place! The owners make you feel right at home. Food was so good. Parmesean Chicken and Buffalo Meatloaf was awesome. They take care of you from the moment you get there. You feel like you are visiting your family.
