With all of the various bed and breakfast options in North Carolina, it's tough to find one that is more than just a place to stay, but also a lasting memory in itself. Buffalo Tavern Bed & Breakfast is one of these places by far. A place with great people, good conversation, and extremely comfortable accommodations, in addition to an outstanding breakfast cooked and served by Doc "the innkeeper". Located close to things to do, places to eat, and shops to explore, this B&B provides the convenience of short drives into town while remaining in a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. As you can tell, our stay was absolutely enjoyable and will bring us back for years to come!

My wife and I had a very nice stay at the Buffalo Tavern B&B. Doc was an excellent host and the morning breakfast had good food and good company as guests chatted with Doc. The rooms are set up to keep their turn of the century charm and it came with an in-room bathtub. You almost did not want to leave to explore the beautiful mountain countryside. I highly recommend if you are traveling near Boone/Blowing Rock to take a look at this B&B. You won't regret it.

Nice comfortable stay. Didn't get to meet Doc but Tracy was friendly and helpful. Our bed was a little more springy than I'm used to but the tub in room was romantic. Its an old house so it has creaky floors, several fireplaces(gas or electric logs), and sound can travel. At Tracy's recommendation we ate at Boondocks in wj, very good with its own brewery. Breakfast at the buffalo tavern was good with different menus the two mornings we were there. My wife loved an egg dish and I loved the stuffed french toast. Overall it was a good stay and we would return again.

We have selected this B&B for the 3rd year in a row as our yearly winter get away to the mountains after the holiday. The room setting is cozy and comfortable, we love the tub in the room. Breakfast is to die for. Doc takes great pride to provide a hearty and delicious breakfast. He goes out of he way to make you feel at home at the breakfast table with his stories. The price is excellent for the location and the comforts.Close to the little town of West Jefferson with much to offer from dining to shopping. Thank you Doc, we will be back next year! Rebecca & Ed.

Doc's Creamy Peach-Filled French Toast
This is a delicious French toast variation that needs NO syrup of any kind! It's served piping hot with warm peaches. I always include a salty sidedish--bacon, or country ham, for instance. Guests love my French toast. I also serve delicious and piping hot stratas of various kinds, biscuits and sausage gravy, omlettes and fresh fruits, and, sometimes, family style! Come to Buffalo Tavern and let me serve you!
