Built in 1872, historic Buffalo Tavern is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NW North Carolina with mountain views on all sides! With three rooms, the Governor's, Flapper's, and Madam's, and the President's suite, it's just the place to relax and renew. All the rooms fit the era and have a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, electric fireplace, clawfoot tub, satellite TV, and wireless Internet. It's a short drive to downtown West Jefferson Arts District and area attractions including historic Todd, Glendale Springs, Boone, and Blowing Rock. Come relax on the front porch.       This is a delicious French toast variation that needs NO syrup of any kind! It's served piping hot with warm peaches. I always include a salty sidedish--bacon, or country ham, for instance. Guests love my French toast. I also serve delicious and piping hot stratas of various kinds, biscuits and sausage gravy, omlettes and fresh fruits, and, sometimes, family style!       Without exception, a 14 day notice is required. Shortened stays also require a 14 day notice. If booked room is resold prior to original stay for the same nights, the cancellation charge is waived. Otherwise, the full cost for the room is charged.

    Enjoy breakfast in the Americana Dining Room.  And Doc, the Innkeeper, provides the excellent service.Relax in the parlor.  Read. Have a drink.  Eat a snack of Doc's cookies and cakes.  Meet your friends.  Welcome!

    You can feel the history of Buffalo Tavern and the years since 1872 that it has been majestically overlooking the mountains of Ashe County!Front view of Buffalo Tavern showing the downstairs porch and the second floor porch.  Come...sit on a porch for a spell!
