Loved Grandview!

5 on May 10, 2016

Fantastic! This was my first stay at Grandview Lodge and I'll be back. The owner, Jeff, was welcoming and I felt right at home the three nights I was there. Stayed in the Gustave-Julia room, on the 2nd floor in the main house. It was clean, super cozy and quiet. The bed & pillows were comfy! The room provided the basics: an iron, lots of space to store clothing, hair dryer, TV, wifi and plenty of towels. It even had a salt lamp (love these) and electric fireplace to add to the rustic ambiance. The grounds are lovely and the main house is just gorgeous. I'm a antique collector and really enjoyed the decor, including the impressive record collection. I was visiting family and was only able to enjoy breakfast one morning (which was delicious) so I definitely missed out on that - but there's always next time! Breakfast is prepared around 8:30AM and includes coffee, OJ, and the american classics (bacon, omelet, grits, etc.). You can't beat the value for what you're getting. I've stayed at the nearby Best Western in the past (simply because I didn't know this awesome Bed & Breakfast existed) and they are actually pricier. This isn't far from downtown Waynesville and it's just so peaceful - you won't get all the road noise :) Jeff was working solo the week I was there (his wife and co-owner was out of town) and he did a fabulous job accommodating the guests all on his own. Already looking forward to my next stay.

Wonderful first time experience at B & B

5 on February 20, 2016

For our first ever stay at a B & B I searched the internet, found the Grandview to be in our price range and then chose to stay in the separate motel-like addition to the main building. We had a very clean adequate sized room, a private bath, two comfy beds, a small fridge/freezer and a TV that actually worked. All rooms were comfy and quaint and decorated with patchwork quilts. . We arrived after dark and after a 10 hour drive and immediately became lost. The owner answered our phone call and gave us perfect directions. He even met us in the driveway. That was a good thing because the poor outside lighting and uneven patio brick walkway were a challenge to us three senior citizens. Later, the absence of a "front desk clerk" meant no directions as to how to turn the TV on, how the small but very essential space heaters worked (automatically) and when breakfast would be provided in the morning. We figured out how to use the two remote controls provided and later shared that info with another late arrival guest.. We were 25 miles from the Biltmore Estate which was on our itinerary for one day. Area shopping and restaurants were well worth the effort to find. Bogart's was outstanding! Our very mountainous adventure on a cold, overcast February weekend was a wonderful success.. We only had one breakfast, which was delicious and very generous. The dining room was large and adjoining sitting room well stocked with reading materials and comfortable furniture,. The owner's lovely wife handles the baking for the kitchen. Her chocolate, raspberry and everything spectacular torte is to "die for"!! Best of all, we had no problems using $200 worth of Bed and Breakfast Gift Cards I inadvertently purchased months ago through a church fundraiser. If ever again in the Waynesville area, we would absolutely stay at the Grandview.

Quick Visit

We had to go to Waynesville for a funeral and a family member recommended we stay at Grandview Lodge. We spent two quiet and restful nights at this rustic inn. The owners were super friendly and the breakfast each morning was absolutely worth the trip. They met our needs, provided outstanding service in a wonderful place. It had snowed and the views were awesome. We will be back for another visit.
