    Met my expectations.

    April 03, 2013

The lodge is adorable. Reminds me of my grandmother's house in the country. Very cozy. The lodge is in the middle of a neighborhood which was unexpected. I assumed it was set out a little further from residential areas. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was filling and the service was friendly. Very generous closet space-bring hangers with you. The small frig came in handy to keep drinks in. The downside-the walls are a little thinner than anticipated. The upside-the lodge is comfortable and downtown Waynesville absolutely adorable! Honestly, we only went into Asheville one evening for the indoor rock climbing. Otherwise, it was so easy to jump on the interstate we traveled to Sugar Mountain for snow and the Linville Caverns (so worth it!!!) one day. We took the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad (Snoopy Easter ride) another day and drove back through Cherokee. We ate dinner at The Sweet Onion which was extremely delightful. I mention all these day trips and travels just to let you know how easy it is to get in and out the lodge to these sites.
