My wife and I along with our English Bulldog were delighted in staying at The Pack House Inn. It is an unusual property with a number of buildings so different from each other. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with our dog and socializing with other friendly folks! The inn was undergoing a change in ownership while we were there. We were fortunate to have met Susan, the new owner, who was a most gracious host. Susan was very caring about us as guests and wanted to make certain everything was being done to make our visit enjoyable. She explained she has great plans to make The Pack House Inn a premier guest location. You won't be disappointed in breakfast it was served and coupled with a wonderful buffet with many choices. A real plus is the very short walk to downtown Edenton, a real main street town where the chains have not ventured. We shall return to The Pack Hours Inn!

We arrived and our keys and room were all ready for us, staff was friendly and helpful. Explained about breakfast but didn't mention it was in a different building, but found it anyway. Very friendly owner spoke to us on the porch about the area and the history of the inn.

Our wedding party stayed at he Pack House Inn and had a wonderful weekend. They were very accommodating and made our visit with family and friends so comfortable and convenient. The rooms are spacious and lovely and the breakfasts are delicious in the large dining room. Couldn't have been better. A big thank you to new proprietor Susan and her staff.

The Inn provided a great environment for our team to interact and take care of business. The relaxed atmosphere on the front porch was the perfect change of pace from our corporate boardroom. The breakfast was just the right starter for each day and kudos to the staff for coming in early to accommodate our meeting schedule.

We were in town for my niece's wedding held at Pembroke Hall. Everything we encountered over the weekend was spectacular from the weather, the downtown parade, the people, but especially the accommodations at The Pack House Inn. We had a lovely room that housed three of us comfortably. Pretty sure my future visits to Edenton will warrant a repeat stay at The Pack House Inn -- forget the hotels!

We stayed at the Pack House Inn this past September. We stayed in the Tillie Bond Cottage Suite with our little dog, Cassie. The Tillie Bond Cottage is pet friendly and is set back from the main inn. Our room was wonderful. Very comfortable and we had a sitting room in addition to the bedroom. The bathroom was spotless and spacious. Everything was so clean. And it was very quiet. We had one of the best night's rest. They served a delicious southern breakfast the next morning in the dining room. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well kept. There are porches with swings and rocking chairs. Delightful. We are planning to come back next fall and stay for several days. Mike and Dorothy

Very comfortable accomodations, service was excellent, and the "community kichenette with complimentary coffee, tea, water and snacks was really nice. Hairdryer in the room did not work, glad I had brought my own. Some cleaning issues-cobwebs on chairs on porch, stains in bathtub, places missed in an otherwise clean room. The breakfast somewhat limited-buffet with 1 entree, grits, fruit, cereal/yogurt, muffins/bread-no meats. All food was good, however was not hot our 1st day even tho we were there 30 minutes before breakfast ended. Edenton is a great place to visit; i would go back.

We always enjoy and appreciate the hospitality of the Edenton citizens. Our stay was OK, the AC was very loud and right over the bed. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Overall, it was nice night.

Spacious rooms, clean facilities, friendly service. It's within easy walking distance of the Broad St. business district and the downtown historic sites. Only complaints: The bed wasn't especially comfortable, and the floors creak, but hey, it's a historic building furnished with antiques.

We arrived at the Pack House Inn on Thursday to attend a Friday and Saturday reunion of classes from Edenton High School and John A. Holmes. We stayed in The Proprietor's House in the upstairs room that is referred to as "The Reagan Room" . I hope Ronald and Nancy enjoyed it as much as we did. We would, certainly return for another stay. Mike and the crew did a very good job of taking care of us. Jim and Lisa

The room was in general quite delightful, but there was makeup from some previous guest on the coverlet on the bed – it should have been laundered or replaced. Breakfast had lovely fresh fruit but minimal options for vegans – the only main course was an egg and meat casserole, and there were no nondairy milk options, so cereal was out. This was disappointing, since we had been asked for any dietary needs when we registered, and had said we avoid dairy and meat.

My girlfriend arranged for us to stay at the Pack House in for our visit to Edenton, NC. I was mildly apprehensive, never having stayed in a B&B and wondering if it would be socially awkward (I've seen too many sitcom episodes about B&B's I guess). But the Pack House managed to make us feel right at home without taking us out of our comfort zone. It was a very interesting house full of interesting things, the bed was comfortable, the facilities were nice, the staff was nice, and we were welcome to the kitchen at all hours for coffee and snacks (I recommend the ginger snaps). We would stay again, and I am not quite so scared of B&B's anymore. :)

We have stayed in the Pack House and loved it so when we saw the Tillie Bond house (same property) was pet friendly we jumped at the reservation! So spacious, so comfortable and did I mention pet friendly??!

What a great deal!!! Clean rooms, great breakfast and a warm, helpful and accommodating staff. From the moment that we checked in, until the time we left we were made comfortable and felt at home. We stayed in the handicapped accommodations which has a small porch off the back door to the room and is at the top of the ramp leading to the parking lot. The bathroom is large and can easily accommodate I wheelchair if needed. Handrails are adequately placed and there is also a seat in the shower. The kitchen is just out the door so you have the ease of access; and it is always stocked with coffee, tea, bottled water and snacks. Best deal we've gotten in a long time!

My room was quite nice. However, the a/c was right above the bed. The air was blowing right on my face. Also, the room didn't have any shampoo, creme rinse, and body soap. I also found several long dark hairs in the shower. The bed and breakfast was overbooked, with our party booking first for this particular weekend. One member of our party was put in an empty house off the premises in what was called a mother-in-law room. He wasn't charged, but all he would say was that it was a bed to sleep in. Another member of our party was put in the owner's house, again of the premises. They were charged full price. This was a beautiful place but poorly managed. Only one person, Tracy, really knew what was going on and she worked very hard. However her assistant, who had the same first name, maybe wasn't so efficient. If my sister hadn't been so diligent and persistent we may not have had a room either. Plus after talking to both women, she figured out both women were named Tracy. And, she knew which one would get the job done correctly.

Wonderfully quiet, restful stay in surroundings that made us feel we had stepped back into the late 1800's. Beautifully decorated rooms with porch rockers and swings for relaxing. Breakfast was great and Mike and Traci made us feel right at home. Walking distance to great shops and restaurants and the Edenton waterfront.

Pros: It's an neat historic place in a beautiful historic town. You are close enough to "downtown" to walk to get something to eat. The packhouse is unusual and interesting. We stayed in room 21, it is a large room with a nice bathroom, a small tub, but a wonderful walk in shower. The room was very comfortable, The packhouse has a guest kitchen with a coffee maker, fridge etc. That is very nice if you need to keep something cold. Cons. Upon arrival don't expect the usual greeting you receive when checking into a B&B. They hand you a key and an envelop that contains your receipt. There is no welcome with a tour of the placed or what they have to offer. As a matter of fact you kind of feel like you are intruding. Breakfast is another disappointing. It too is not what you usually get at a B&B. With that said this is a Inn. Breakfast is served buffet style. For the most part it tasted like the breakfast you get at a hotel. The host at breakfast was delightful but we could never find things you needed. The orange juice (once you found a glass, or even the O.J) was watered down. A huge disappointment. Breakfast is one of the things I look forward to at a B&B. With saying all of this I do want to include the fact that the entire packhouse, minus our room, was rented out for a family reunion. So the place was packed. We felt like we were intruding the entire time, so just kind of stayed in our room when not out Kayaking. When it was time to leave we never saw anyone, so just ended up leaving our keys in the room.

We had a family reunion at the Packhouse over Memorial Day Weekend. The staff could not have been more helpful, or the accommodations more perfect! The common areas and private rooms were all clean, comfortable, and casual…even a guest kitchen to put together lunches, make early morning coffee before the delicious breakfast or make a late night snack….oh, and don't forget the big porch and expansive grassy lawn for frisbee, cornhole, bacci, etc. I would stay at Bed and Breakfasts more often if they were all like the Packhouse!

A last minute mid-week road trip included an overnight stay at the Pack House Inn. We were not disappointed. The oversize room (#21) with large bath had a nice sitting area. The king-size bed was comfortable. The room was quiet even though it faced the street. The cooling unit was also quiet and quickly cooled the room, but because the air blew directly over the bed we didn't leave it on ; we got a little warm during the night. TV and Internet access was no problem, but I would skip both and go sit on the front porch swing. Breakfast was served in the formal dining room of Proprietor's House- quite tasty, cooked to your order. I am already making plans to come back with my sister!

My wife and my adult son and I enjoyed our stay in Room 2. The room was a bit small for three adults but would have been perfect for a couple with younger children. We loved the bathroom. The house has been beautifully restored and decorated and was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. A great place to stay in a nice little town.

Overall our stay was pleasant, very good restaurants nearby. some pet peeves to mention. I stay at a B&B so that for once, I do not have to make my breakfast for myself or for my family, which includes my own coffee as well, I think it is simply good hospitality to offer your guests great coffee on tap and not have them have to make it themselves until breakfast is ready. Breakfast was okay- short of staff but the rest of the staff appeared to cope well. Beds were extremely hard! Finally, there are rules for displaying the American Flag, there are too many of our countrymen that have fought and died for our freedom to treat it with such disrespect, our flag should never touch the ground indoors or out and if it is damaged, frayed, torn, faded, it should never be displayed indoors or out and should in fact be retired properly and replaced. See http://www.senate.gov/reference/resources/pdf/RL30243.pdf I would stay at the Pack House again the grounds are lovely

This historic little town of Edenton proved to be just what the doctor ordered. Quiet, quaint, peaceful river setting and everything in walking distance. The Pack House (we did not stay in the main house) offered a very homey retreat for some well needed R & R. Clean, spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable room. Spacious common (living) area with piano, game table and sitting areas. Loved sitting on the front porch in a rocker or swing just reading and relaxing. Breakfast buffet was OK, nothing special. If there is anything that we could say needed improvement it would be providing a little more upscale breakfast. Otherwise the Pack House was wonderful!

Our room was big with a queen bed, desk, sofa and armoire that housed the TV, extra bedding and our clothes. The bathroom was also good size. The B&B is a block away from the Visitor's Center and just a few blocks from town and the waterfront. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Well maintained B&B with friendly and courteous management. Excellent large room kept spotless. Our only complaint was breakfast unimaginative and of mediocre quality - not up to standards of most B&B 's -needs improvement.

As it is off season, we were the only guests at the Pack House Inn. Off season prep was obviously underway but we were well accommodated. There are lots of B&Bs and other establishments which list an owner as the host -- but at how many of them does the owner make and serve breakfast -- and a very good breakfast at that! It is a beautiful property in a beautiful town and worth more than every penny spent to stay there.

We stayed there only one night. The room was spacious, clean and as it looked in the photo. It was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom had some nice amenities such as cotton swabs, hair dryer, The innkeepers had lukewarm personalities. The friendliest member was their granddaughter...a little 3 or 4 year old who helped out. Very cute. The breakfast was less than appetizing. Pancakes as hard as rocks (although she did bring us a few more). It was served buffet style. The highlight here was the orange juice. Truly...McDonald's breakfasts are more appealing. For the price, one would certainly expect a better food.

My husband and I visited Edenton, NC as a weekend getaway for my birthday. We originally reserved a room in the Pack House Inn. A few days before our arrival we received a call from the Innkeeper asking us to switch to a room in the Proprieter property due to low guest numbers. We agreed. Our new room was very pretty and clean. The only issue we had was the TV was very small and it was hard to see it from the bed or lounge chairs provided in the room. The other concern was that there were no blinds in the bathroom. Only lace curtains that provided no privacy from the property's parking lot or busy street below. We used the two bathrobes provided by the Inn as "curtains" and hung them over the bathroom windows. The breakfast in the morning was good but very sparse. I was expected to have more menu choices and a few extras such as fresh fruit. The food that was prepared was good, but we weren't asked if we wanted more of anything. The Inn's website boasts of a well-stocked open kitchen with snacks and drinks for guests; however, there was very little to choose from (i.e., some peanut butter crackers and only some OJ left over from breakfast for beverages). Overall, we enjoyed our visit in Edenton. The town is very quaint and we loved walking through all the shops on Broad Street. The two restaurants we ate at for dinner were wonderful (Waterman's Grill and Kristy's).

The Pack House Inn was a last minute choice and what a lovely choice it was. We stayed in a room that was spacious, charming, and comfortable. A full breakfast was cooked to order. Dining out in the evening was an easy walk to a couple of good local restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

The Pack House Inn is a unique property within walking distance of downtown Edenton. We enjoyed our stay and the owner, innkeeper and other employees are friendly and a great source of information. This operation is however a value play and does not offer the amenities some other properties may. That's perfectly fine - just know what to expect before arrival.

The Pack House was beautiful: cozy, old world, comfortable, nicely decorated. The food was good and ample, the workers were friendly. We had some difficulties with details, however, that surprised us. Although we booked a room for four, there was no cot for the fourth person in our room. We only had two towels and two washcloths, and was only able to get one more, and a mat, when we asked. There was not enough toilet paper for the four of us, and there were no tissues provided. The shower curtain was too short, so there was water on the floor when our showers were done. Also, the rug in our room needed vacuuming. I say these things not to complain, since everyone was so nice and the place was beautiful, but to notify you that those items should be improved in the future. Thanks for a nice time.

The Pack House was a great find and my stay was delightful. The rooms were comfortable including the bed, the ambience was just right. The value was great. I would have liked toast or muffins too. Great stay and would go again and recommend to others

We love The Pack House Inn! This was our second stay and we plan to go back as often as we can. It is located in perfect strolling distance from downtown Edenton and the waterfront. The rooms are lovely -- spacious, comfortable and spotless. The Inn is the best place to relax, especially in a rocking chair on the front porch with a cup of tea or glass of wine.

Rooms are individually decorated and a central lobby allows interaction between guests. I had just broken my ankle and was in considerable pain, Advil and a very comfortable bed lead to eight hours of sleep. Great breakfast cooked to order. The pack house is an attractive building, but you would not select it for views from your room. You are on a perfectly nice suburban street. The town and water front is colonial and truly spectacular. I was there for business, but must go back to explore.

My dog Amber and I stayed at the Pack House Inn in April, 2013 and had a very enjoyable stay. It truly felt like home away from home. When they say they are dog friendly, they mean it. We stayed in the Tillie Bond Cottage where the room and bathroom was larger than expected. This was a "pet friendly" room, yet there were no signs that other pets had stayed there previously... very clean indeed. The owner of the inn, Mike, was very friendly and personable and took the time to chat and make sure I had everything I needed for a very comfortable stay. The inn is located just a few blocks from the center of Edenton which was wonderful for me and my dog because every morning we would take a long walk through the quiet lovely streets of Edenton to view the wonderful architecture and down to the beautiful waterfront just blocks away. The Pack House Inn is a marvel in itself with so much to view in the common areas and lovely patio area. Breakfast was always ample and delicious, and was a great time to chat with other travelers that were staying at the Inn. I would highly recommend The Pack House Inn to friends and family, and I will definitely stay there again in the future. Kathy and Amber from Connecticut

I am a Civil War historian and author and had several book-signings on Hatteras the day of our arrival, and these engagements would get us to The Packhouse late. Being invited to a late dinner on Roanoke Island was going to make us even later arriving in Edenton. Then a young woman in an accident on the way required our assistance and we later yet. Mike patiently received our calls and updates. He upgraded our room after needing our original room for a couple who brought an unexpected third guest. The rooms were very clean, very nicely furnished. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was quiet. In the morning, breakfast was ready when we were and we sat at an individual table without being required to make conversation with strangers - which we prefer. The food was perfect and quickly served. The room rates proved to be quite a value. Looking forward to our next stay at The Packhouse when we can see more of the beautiful town of Edenton. - Lee Thomas Oxford

My wife and I stayed overnight last week and had a great experience. The room was comfortable and decorated very nicely. The Pack House is filled with antiques which we loved. The owners were very nice and chatted with us freely and didn't make us feel rushed in any way. We couldn't have asked for a quieter street to stay on. The B&B is located in the historic district which meant that traffic was practically non existent. Local restaurants (very laid back) are within 2 to 3 blocks and the scenery is outstanding. We'll be back.

My stay at the Pack House exceeded my expectations. When I first made my reservations I was told that my room would sleep three people. When I called prior to my arrival to reconfirm, I was told that the person who booked me misunderstood and that my room would be changed from #14 to a room on the third floor. However, upon late arrival, my room had not been changed and I had to find accommodations for the rest of my party else where. This was very disappointing and inconvenient for my first endeavor with a bed and breakfast. I've had better food choices at hotels than at the Pack House and that was disappointing to me. The highlight of my stay at the Pack House was the porch.

My first stay in a B&B; very nice experience. Short walk to downtown, just long enough to enjoy the walk even on a hot Southern evening. Breakfast was simple and lacked some nice amenities, like fresh fruit, but was adequate. Room was large with nice ensuite bath.
4.6 on July 19, 2013
The room was really nice, clean and pleasant. The only drawback was the loud, really loud air conditioners. They kept me awake most of the night. The rest of my visit was quite enjoyable. The nice artwork and the furnishings were quite surprising for a packhouse. However, upgrades to the airconditioning need to be made a priority over the nice art and furnishings. A good nights sleep takes precedent over the lovely furnishings.

The rooms were quaint, clean, and comfortable. They had a victorian flair. The value was amazing. I would most definitely stay here again!

We stayed one Friday night. Check-in and checkout were extremely easy. The rooms were great and the inn was beautifully decorated. It was conveniently located. Breakfast was fine but average. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay. We would go back again.

Our stay at the Pack House Inn went beyond our expectations. There were three of us and so we needed a room with an extra bed. We reserved a room that we thought would work but when we arrived they accommodated us with a bigger and more convenient room. The grounds and all of the houses are beautiful. Very relaxing. Definitely like stepping back in time. We would definitely go back again for a stay!

My wife and I have have been to the Packhouse 7 or 8 times in the last 7 years for single night stays and multiple night getaways and we have always enjoyed it. We've stayed in 5 or 6 different rooms and have recently stayed in the Albermarle room for a couple nights, which has become our favorite. It seems as if some changes have occurred that make the atmosphere more relaxed and welcoming of late. The staff seems glad to have guests rather than merely tolerant of them. This recent stay was our favorite in a collection of enjoyable stays. Breakfast was delicious. The service was friendly and accomodating above and beyond checkout. They seemed happy to fulfill requests that they easily could have declined. We absolutely recommend! - M from VA

Walking distance to waterfront area, shopping, and dining. Good place for a group traveling together, but also nice for a couple's getaway. Friendly staff, but also lots of privacy if you prefer. Love the big front porch with swings.

Wonderful little place to stay in historic Edenton. It's a short walk to Visitor's Center and downtown. Great location and delicious breakfast.

This was our second visit to Odenton and to the Pack House Inn. So we came with high expectations and in no way were we disappointed. In fact, our room, our breakfast and service were better than ever. We will return.

Apparrently, there has been a change in innkeepers, and with that services, at the Pack House. The property and rooms were beautiful, but the website and brochures are not accurate. For instance, the website and brocures claim that you have 24 hour access to snacks and bevereges in the kitchen, and that there is complimentary wine and cheese in the evening. When I inquired about this, I was told that they do not do the wine/cheese anymore, and only crackers and water are in the kitchen, because it was taken advantage of. However, all the other B&Bs in Edenton offer these services. The breakfasts were very good, but not the "3 course gourmet breakfast" advertised. Also, if you stay in the Proprieters Inn (as we did) the WiFi is spotty. If I were to go to Edenton again, I would likely choose one of the other B&Bs.

5 on May 18, 2013
They were very accommodating in every way. We had a very full schedule while in town, and we were able to drop off our luggage in the morning so we didn't have to cart it around all day before coming back for the night. Excellent rooms, nice kitchen, and a very quiet stay. And right on Broad Street close to everything. We would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Pack House Inn May 12 and 13, 2013 and roomed in the Tillie Bond Cottage since I was traveling with my Pug. This lovely Bed and Breakfast is situated in the quaint little town of Edenton, NC, which is rich with historical sites including Civil War history. The historical waterside has breath-taking views and is close proximity to the B & B. Charming eateries and shops line the main street leading to the water area. Mike, the owner, was eager to make my stay as pleasant as possible. And it was a very, relaxing, enjoyable stay at the Pack House Inn. I would love to return to the area and stay again at this Inn.

Since we stayed there before they were officially open for the spring/summer season they were just getting things renovated and cleaned. They were very accommodating since we needed a handicapped accessible room and they changed it for us the second day. They were very hospitable and helpful.

We spent a night at The Pack House Inn recently. Edenton is a small charming colonial town on the Albemarle Sound and The Pack House Inn fit right in to the character of the community. The Inn is quite charming and spacious. Our room was large, airy and light with an excellent master bath suite. It was very quiet as well. Breakfast was average but ample. Service was friendly and helpful. I have no hesitation to recommend it.

My stay here was wonderful. This is an awesome B&B.
3.6 on May 07, 2013
We had the room with the kingsize bed; there was plenty of room and the room was clean and comfy. The inn was also located within easy walking distance of downtown and the Historic Commission. Wifi was spotty upstairs but easily accessible downstairs and from the porch. Note that the air/heat/fan control on the second floor of the Proprietor's House is in the hallway and that the windows don't open. Breakfast was great and the owner friendly and helpful. All in all, a great little place to stay!

We had the best time here! Loved how the house was layed out, very comfortable space. Inkeeper and owner are the most pleasant and attentive people. Rooms were super cozy and well maintained. Quiet environment, free wine and cheese? yes please! Breakfast was always hot and ready to eat, endless tasty items and coffee refills with absolutely wonderful service! We will definitely recommend staying here to anyone coming to edenton, you'll be glad you chose pack house or proprietors over any other b&b.

We were left in perfect peace, in a wonderful old house with lots of books to read. A very civilized and charming place. No icky doilies or dreaded B&B potpourri. Owners were pleasantly hands-off but available.
4.6 on March 06, 2013
The room was ideal and the atmosphere perfect, Breakfast was a little disappointing; the pancakes were good but served with no butter and too little syrup. The quiche was a bit runny and the fresh melon too firm (well, it was February). The advertised snacks were disappointing.

What an extraordinary room with wonderful accessories.
3.8 on February 16, 2013
On a cold February night we were the only guests at this historic inn. There were positives and negatives to this situation. Positive was the sense we could have the entire space to ourselves--the wonderful downstairs living room, the balcony upstairs and the dining room for breakfast. On the other end was the fact that breakfast was minimal, and rooms seemed slightly dusty. But the inn itself is beautiful, and very authentic. There is a full kitchen (stocked with some snacks) for guests, and we got a "last minute special" that was a wonderful value.

The Pack House is dripping with history, the room was large and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. We stayed here for 1 night on a 4-day roadtrip and had a unique, memorable experience that beats a Holiday Inn express anyday.

This was mine and my husband's first time at a bed and breakfast. We really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was lovely. I'm a photographer and really enjoyed taking pictures of all of the neat things they had sitting around. A Peerflekta II was my favorite! The breakfast was phenomenal. I'm generally not a breakfast eater, but it was definitely worth getting up for!

The Pack House Inn is absolutely charming. Consisting of three distinct buildings, each has a different ambience. The Lord Proprietor's Inn is a traditional B&B in a historic house, and the Pack House building was moved to this location and repurposed from a tobacco farm structure. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, and surround a sitting room that was being decorated with a Christmas tree that filled the area with a wonderful smell. A 24 hour guest kitchen contains all a guest might want, including coffee, tea, water, ice, and snacks. The larger suites in The Pack House have a huge bathroom with a standard sized tub and an oversized walk-in shower, while the rooms into which we peeked in The Lord Proprietor's have a standard sized bathroom with a tub/shower combination. In the Pack House, we also had a sitting area with a coffee table. The innkeepers were gracious and interesting. Breakfast was cooked to order just for us, as there were few guests. We loved everything about it and will be back, especially to further explore the charming town of Edenton.
4.8 on November 25, 2012
The Pack House Inn is a delightful facility in a warm and friendly town. Both our room and bath were large, comfortable, clean and well furnished. The mattress was very perfect for us so we slept well. The breakfast offered several appetizing choices and was superb. the Inn's location is ideal for walking about the 300 year old town of Edenton and everyone we encountered gave us a welcoming smile and a friendly greeting. The only problem we had was a lack of creamer for morning coffee in the otherwise fully stocked kitchen. This was a minor issue and we have booked a return visit. We highly recommend the Pack House Inn.

My husband and I stayed for three nights in the Pack House and had a wonderful time in Edenton. Breakfast each morning was delicious and everyone was very friendly. We had originally booked room 19, but due to some unplanned maintenance we were told when we checked in it wouldn't be available for our first night. We were given keys to two other rooms to select which one we wanted to stay in and chose room 14, which was very nice. Room 19 took longer than planned to be available so the second and third nights Giuliano offered to upgraded us to a different room if we wanted, and we moved to room 21 which was wonderful.

Shared the room with 2 friends and it was spacious and comfortable. It was a little chilly as the weather changed and there was no way to heat it up, but other than that, it was charming and pleasant. Delicious breakfast!

This was my third visit. The hospitality and character of the Pack House is the best. If you are ever in the Edenton area this is the palce to stay.

The Pack House Inn is a great place to stay in Edenton, and so convenient for exploring this charming small town. We were surprised to find it "in town" -- for some reason it looked more like a rural property in the pictures. It's only a couple of blocks from the main historical/shopping area.

We stayed at the inn on our honeymoon trip down the east coast and hoped we could return some day. It took 19 years and we're so glad that we went back! Stayed in the honeymoon suite which was lovely and also enjoyed relaxing downstairs in the living room. Breakfasts were made to order and delicious. All-in-all a delightful stay!
4.6 on October 23, 2012
We loved The Pack House. Had wished we would have booked a second night.. Breakfast was great. We will definately return. Only suggestion is to offer a true wine and appetizer event, not a small bottle of average wine to hand off. This event is usually designed to get to know the owners and other guests. But that aside, super place.

reserved online, charged $30 more when I got there, "innkeeper" rude and rushed, room was very cramped...watched tv thru rails in footboard, snacks were stale, Breakfast was a bad experience...dirty silverware, hair in the food, gooey pancakes, and wasn't told that there would be ham or Canadian bacon on plate...I don't eat pork...the fruit was good as was the coffee...NEVER AGAIN

My husband and I were looking for a quiet-relaxing weekend away and The Pack House proved to be the perfect setting for just that. We stayed in room No. 6 and absolutely loved the natural light and historic charm. The king-size bed was incredibly confortable as well. The grounds and all 3 buildings associated with The Pack House were well kept and lovely. Breakfast was delicious; we were pleasantly surprised with fresh-made pound cakes served with breakfast as well. Tonya waited on us both Saturday & Sunday morning - she kept the coffee hot and happily recommended a few things to do in town. We will definitely return again and soon. The Pack House and Edenton has turned into our own little getaway...don't forget to grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine and enjoy the front porch swings before you leave!

As a former Inn Keeper, it was my pleasure to stay at the Pack House with it's beautiful historical furnished rooms. What a lovely and unique place the Pack House Inn turned out to be. Check-in was easy and quick. The room and bathroom were both very spacious and inviting. Both the room and the building we were in had interesting and appropriate vintage decorations. The availability of the kitchen was an especially nice touch. Just what was needed for a cup of tea, a drink, or a snack. Breakfast was delightful and plentiful. Overall, it exceeded our expectations in every way.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our next vacation. We were just passing through Edenton, were tired, and decided to stop for the night. One of the local chain hotels were full and suggested The Pack House. What wonderful luck!! We loved it. We are now planning a vacation with The Pack House our base of operations to start off from each day. The Pack House has everything you need and more. And most of all, it was total relaxation.

We have stayed in many B&Bs, but the Pack House was by far the best! We had privacy and did not have to put up with constant chatting with the owner(s) like at other places. The inn was very clean and the bathroom was much larger than what we usually find. We will definitely return!

We happened upon this marvelous Inn on hotels.com. We were in room 19, which is simply gorgeous and comfortable with an amazing bathroom. The breakfast is served at individual tables, and you have a choice of three main dishes. The food is exceptional, with well crafted and often unusual choices. It's only a few blocks from the waterfront and the charming downtown is between it and the water. There is a guest kitchen with a fridge in which you can store leftovers if you choose. Overall, it is the best bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in.

Stayed one nite here on our way to another destination. The B&B has 3 separate buildings with available rooms. All the common areas are beautifully restored and provide that quaint feeling that you expect at a B&B. We stayed in the Tillie Bond Cottage to have some privacy away from the main houses. Our room was a decent size and had a nice bathroom and large tub. Breakfast for all is served in this cottage, so be prepared for the early morning prep in the kitchen outside the door of your room. The breakfast was quite good and had a nice selection of items. The downtown area of Edenton was lovely and the harbor area and Barker house were worth the visit. We had dinner & drinks at "309" and it was delicious. We would like to visit again to have more time to learn more about the history of the town and see more of the charming houses there.

What a perfect place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The location, the room, the food, and the owners were first class. We stayed here 25 years ago, and chose to return to see if it was as great as we remembered. It absolutely was! Our room was beautiful and immaculate. The breakfast buffet Sunday morning was awesome. The owners and the staff were friendly and more than helpful. Edenton is a beautiful city and the Proprietor's Inn is a must. You won't be disappointed!

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed each day more than the day before. The facility is excellent and the owner/chef is the best. Breakfast is to die for. The staff was extremely helpful and showed us additional rooms we may want to reserve in the future. The proximity to the downtown area makes eating, shopping and touring all within walking distance.

We were thrilled to find this dog-friendly B&B. Mike and Guilliano could not have been more accommodating. We were placed in the main house away from other guests, which was a great relief to us. We didn't have to worry about the dog bothering anyone else. Even so, the room was lovely (which is often not the case with rooms reserved for pets). Breakfast here was fabulous. Everyone (owners, staff, and even the occasional carpenter) were friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful place and we look forward to returning. The Pack House Inn was definitely one of our favorite B & B's to date--an incredible value.

The history of Edenton jumps out at you as soon as you arrive. The Packhouse is in easy walking distance to many historic sites and some outstanding restaurants, Short drives can take you to Plymouth, Manteo, Elizabeth City. the Outer Banks or many other interesting places. Each time we visit we find new surprises to enjoy. Giuliano and Mike are more like friends than Innkeepers and go the extra mile to make you comfortable. If you visit once, you will return!

The Pack House Inn is like home away from home. I felt warm and welcome from the moment of my arrival until my departure. The breakfasts are delicious! Giuliano does a splendid job every morning! What a great get away! The food was a great, it is the first time we have ever had a home cooked gourmet meal! All of the other people staying there with us were repeat guests! The staff was so accommodating, and the room was great, the pictures don’t do them justice. I highly recommend the Pack House group!

Loved the town of Edenton and all the historic places and coastline. At Pack house, greeted upon arrival and given directions to our room and the breakfast building. Also inside our welcome package was info regarding a sailboat cruise we had inquired about. Lovely room - clean and spacious. Nice breakfast buffet - individual tables which tends to hamper some mingling with other visitors, but doesn't force any unwanted conversations. The food was delicious - made my own iced tea with ice and hot water delivered in a cute little teapot! Great getaway to a sweet southern town - we enjoyed our time together and would return to the Pack House.

This was our third visit at The Pack House Inn. We stayed a total of 7 nights. It was a bit like catchig up with old friends. We first chose to stay there because the reviews were good, and it looked clean, comfortable and convenient to downtown. This is all true, but we returned because of the warm hospitality and the FANTASTIC breakfasts! Mike and Giuliano are easy going, interesting and enjoyable to talk to. Everything you would expect from a first class hotel but with a touch of home mixed in. Overall a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend any person to plan on staying here and experience it for oneself! Their staff and housekeeping do an excellent job, friendly and are very helpful. Hat's off to Mike and Giuliano for providing their guests a relaxing yet professional B & B experience!!!

The rooms were romantic, comfortable, and quiet. The location is perfect to walk to historic downtown Edenton and the water front. A definite yes! to anybody wishing to stay in a bed-and-breakfast around here.

My wife and I stayed one night at the Pack House and had a wonderful visit. The rooms are much larger than most B&Bs and the service and breakfast were excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

The owner and Giuliano were great hosts....our breakfast was fantastic...(eggs benedict). But the room was exceptional for the price that we paid. A super large room and bath. A comfy sofa, and of course, a couple of splits of wine when we arrived. Definitely a nice place to chill out for the weekend.

The Pack House Inn, located only 3 blocks from downtown historic Edenton, NC, offers accomodations in 3 unique buildings: the Pack House, the Proprietor's Inn, & the Tilley Bond House. All 3 of the buildings have been beautifully restored, graciously furnished, and are well-maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our accomodations! Each morning we were served a gourmet breakfast prepared by our innkeeper, Giuliano Giannone. Each meal was spectacular! This B & B is definitely on our list of places to visit again! We recommend it to anyone who would enjoy being pampered in a lovely, historic location.

Wow!! What an incredible experience we had choosing to stay at The Pack House Inn in Edenton, North Carolina. The Inn itself has several architectural styles of buildings to choose from, we chose the Pack House due to my father being a Tobacco farmer. I must say that this Inn is well appointed with Art & Collections from all over the world. My Wifes favorite was the Cherokee Indian Blanket. The Innkeepers and staff were very friendly without being intrusive. Giuliano's breakfasts each morning were filling, delicious and of high culinary design. He also makes a different dessert each morning. My family and I will be coming back to book our reunion this fall. Thank You, for making our vacation memorable!!

We stayed at the Inn for a family wedding. The room was okay but nothing special although the private bath was a nice upgrade. We shared our room with large black flies that were annoying. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a nice time with family. Proprietors were inhospitable to the point of rudeness. Would never return.

Everything about my stay was special! The room was exceptional; the innkeepers were fabulous and the breakfast was more than I could have imagined...even served breakfast desert! I cannot wait till I come back for a wonderful stay!

My mom and I enjoyed our stay. Our usual b and b closed because the proprietors retired. We decided to try somewhere different this year. We were not disappointed. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We will probably go again next year.

We stayed in the Pack House. There's at least 2 buildings on the property for guests to stay. All the features you'd hope to see in a B&B... it's straight out of a movie! Lots of fun and very accommodating staff. We've just found our new favorite place to stay in Edenton, NC!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-end at The Pack House Inn and in Edenton. It's a perfect place to "get away" and to relax in a beautiful setting, surrounded by hospitable, friendly people.

We wanted to stay near the Outer Banks but were limited by my celiac disease--I can't eat anything containing gluten. This makes it especially challenging to find a B and B or even a hotel to where I can find breakfast reliably. Fortunately, the Pack House Inn let me know on their website, but went out of their way to make sure that I had a delicious and safe breakfast every morning, and that I could find something to eat for other meals too. Their rooms were clean, beautiful, and spacious. The staff was helpful, courteous and Edenton is a lovely town. I'd recommend Pack House to anyone, and especially to gluten free folk

We stayed two nights in the Tillie Bond House with our small dog. Downtown Edenton and the waterfront were an easy walk and well worth a visit. Breakfasts were hearty. Would suggest adding a grab bar to the shower area to make entry into the tub safer. Usually places that accept a dog, I would not let my dog stay in, so I was delighted to find a place so comfortable and welcoming.

My husband and I stayed at the Proprietor's Inn(one of the Pack House buildings) and enjoyed it very much. We were there to attend a school reunion located in a small town nearby. I was very satisfied with our accommodations---it was clean, bed was very comfortable & everyone was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

The Pack House is a great place to stay and relax. Sitting on the front porch and enjoy the nice cool breeze while having a nice cup of coffee. Walk to the water front and view the beatuiful area. Fun tours and small shops.

Beautiful Inn! My suggestion would be that if you are a light sleeper, choose the rooms that are not facing the street. The Proprietor House is on the main street to downtown and is very busy and noisy until after midnight. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Everything is in walking distance. Lovely town.

What a great stay at the Pack House Inn!! We arrived for check-in and called the innkeeper who met us expeditiously and gave us directions to our room. We were greated with a small bottle of wine, glasses and tons of information on things to do in Edenton. We were upgraded and the room was beautiful. It's an old house, so it was a little creeky but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge and luxurious. We were hesitant to stay in a B&B b/c we like our privacy - but other than a few nice chats, we were left alone! (not to say that the innkeepers wouldn't be there to talk or get recommendations, they would be!!) Breakfast was ok. It said gourmet breakfast - but being from NYC I think I took gourmet at their word...it wasnt' It was very good and filling - but not what I would consider gourmet. Not to detract though - it was far better than the breakfasts you get at any other hotel and it was a perk of staying there. All in all - I would come back in a heartbeat to the Pack House!

The Pack House Inn was so much better than I had expected. The rooms were great, the common areas were very interesting and comfortable, loved the 24-hour kitchen idea - tea and coffee always available. Tonya, our breakfast server, is a sweetheart. Very cheerful in the mornings. The breakfast was served in a nice three-course way, but there was nothing exceptional about the food. With the chef's skills (he's written cookbooks), I expected something a notch above what we might have had at our own home. We will stay again since we loved Edenton and the Pack House Inn.
5 on May 11, 2012
We have lived in North Carolina for 34 years but never been to Edenton. We are big fans of B&Bs and thought this was one of the best we'd ever stayed in. In fact, we loved it so much we are going to give each of our three children and their spouses gift certificates for two nights at the Pack House. Can't think of a nicer present...or a nicer place to get away. Have already told six people they MUST go to Edenton and stay at the Pack House Inn.

This is a beautiful B&B located in a beautiful little town that deserves more attention from the traveling public. A great place to visit for a weekend trip. The check in clerk was a little rude but the owners were very gracious and hospitable. We would go back in a minute. Very conveniently located to the Outer Banks and other historical sites in eastern NC. We had a wonderful visit.

We felt very at home here and the owners/staff were always around and easy to find if we needed anything. I think the guest kitchen was a terrific idea and really made the stay that much more pleasant. We did not have to go in search of a store - the kitchen had everything we needed and even gave us the opportunity to use leftovers from the previous nights dinner. The rooms are large, comfortable and beautifully done. I would recommend this B&B to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay.

My husband and I spent last weekend at the Pack House Inn. Everything - from the friendly, courteous welcome to the warm goodbyes - was perfect. Our room, the Captain's Quarters, was extremely comfortable and provided all the amenities we could want. I can't say enough about the breakfasts - superior food and service. And having Guiliano and Mike make us feel at home was a bonus!

My wife and I had been on the road for a week, and had not quite found that place where we could slow down, until we stayed at the Pack House. Very casual and spacious. The front porch as well as the center room inside were great sitting places. Our room was clean, very light, and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding every morning of our stay. The always available guest kitchen has coffee, cookies, popcorn, etc. Parking is off the street. Giuliano and Mike both worked hard to make the Pack House a great place to stay, while giving the place an uncrowded, relaxed feel. We extended our stay an extra night.

I have not had the genuine pleasure of staying in a B&B as beautiful as this since I lived in England! I not only fell in love with my husband of 22 years again, but I also fell in love with this wonderful jewel in the crown of Edenton, North Carolina! The owners and staff were both warm and welcoming and I felt instantly at home by their hospitality and sincere desire to invite us in for a long and pleasurable stay. The property consists of several early Victorian buildings, including the Pack House, which has been remarkably restored into a B&B from an old tobacco barn (you will NOT be disappointed). Although we did not stay in the Pack House, we spent a splendid weekend in the Proprietors House, a grand three-story Antebellum home with high ceilings and beautiful amenities that sits directly in front of and owned and operated by the same wonderful people who also operate the Pack House. The attention to detail that you find in both buildings extends to the adjacent home that serves as the area to which you enjoy the most wonderful breakfasts carefully made by the loving owners and staff themselves. Do not expect stuffiness or stiffness at this inn. In fact, like me, you will most likely be leaving Edenton with a feeling that you had stayed over at a dear Aunts home in what must be the loveliest town in all of North Carolina! I invite you to partake in this wonderful experience that will not only satisfy you visually but will also appeal to your sense of taste and leave you with a longing to return again and again. Sincerely, LeAnne and David Shields Tidewater Virginia

Just returned from a weekend jaunt at the Pack House. The building itself is a restored tobacco packing house.TheInn consists of 3restored different architecture style buildings. I can only offer praise for this Inn and their friendly staff. What Southern Hospitality! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the Innkeeper Giuliano. Gave my wife and I a complimentary split of wine. Then proceeded to let us know what was going on in town, history, visitor center info, local eateries ect. His info was quite imformative, being this was our first time in town. Our guest suite was beyond expectation, the photos online do not do the roomjustice. Also it was imaculately clean and spotless. The bed was king size canopy, very comfortable and gave us a great night sleep. Suite #21 was well appointed with artwork and antiques. I see why Michael Scalpi and Giuliano Giannone were chosen the Innkeepers of the Year. A big bonus for us,was my mother was able to bring her Dog and stayed in room #22 their pet friendly roomShe was estatic and over the moon about coming back to Edenton. She had not returned in over 20 years. Also that she was able to bring Louie(her dog) she was relutant to leave him with his sitter. The breakfasts were a 3 course delight. The first morning we had a choice of 3.Ichose the Eggs Benedict my wife had the cinnamon French Toast. I must say some of the best Eggs I have tasted in a long time. Our meal began with fresh fruit, orange juice, choice of tea or coffee followed with entree, side dish, toast thendessert! WOW!! Dessert?? for breakfast.Giulianos cake were to die for. He is a gifted Chef. He has written a cookbook, we purchased 10 copies.I forgot to mention my mother has celiac disease. She required a gluten-free breakfast. He prepared her a gluten-free breakfast. She was impressed, and wanted to bring him home with her! I can go on and on, but will cut it short. This Inn goes way beyond its 5 star rating. We wish we could rate it 10 stars!

My wife and I wanted to get away for one night and decided to take advantage of Giuliano's last-minute room-for-$99 special. Our stay was worth well more than that! This is the fourth B&B we've visited and the first in NC, and it exceeded all of our other experiences. Our room was spacious and clean, but still had a cozy feel to it. The three-course breakfast was amazing, too--we were stuffed! We will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night at the Proprietors Inn, which is adjacent to the Pack House. Its a large victorian inn, and our room was spacious, sunny and very comfortable. Giuliano was having a problem with the heat there, but it did not effect us since the weather was so warm. Maybe that explains why Giuliano seemed a little distracted- he was certainly cordial though, and met our needs. The breakfast was good also, and our overall experience in Edenton was positive. We went on to kayak in nearby Merchants Millpond State Park, but could have easily enjoyed kayaking right there on Albemarle Sound on the waterfront in Edenton.

Cozy, comfy, clean, spacious that is my description of The Pack House Inn. I took my two young children, the three of us each had our own bed because of a trundle bed included in my room. We had a lovely balcony with chairs and table. We were near the kitchen (guest kitchen) and very spacious living area. I got up early had my coffee and read the paper in the living area while my children slept in. We then went for breakfast in a building right next to the Inn--lovely old dwelling which was delicious and relaxed. Best pace to stay in Edenton!

My sisters and Mom and her sisters go away for a fall trip each year. We have stayed at several B&B's and the Pack House was by far the best ever. The innkeeper Giuliano Giannone was a awesome host. He spent time chatting with us as well as seeing to our comfort. He also has a great cookbook out. I was recently cooking a recipe out of his book and was confused on something. I gave him a call and he was more than willing to be helpful. Great atmosphere, food, and accommodations.

Incredible value! If you have stayed in B & B's in Asheville, Wilmington, or Chapel Hill where rates are much higher, you owe it to yourself to check out the gorgeous, historic little town of Edenton. This was our first experience with a true Bed and Breakfast and we were very pleased. Upon entering the Pack House Inn, we found a large room with quite a few comfortable places to sit, a baby grand piano, many books, magazines, and DVDs to borrow. The decorating was eclectic and and made for a great atmosphere. There was a kitchen for guests and snacks were put out in the afternoon. We stayed two nights and found the room clean and pleasant. There was a DVD player with the TV. The breakfast was delicious and in a very congenial setting with a friendly hostess. Overall we were very pleased, would recomment the inn, and plan to return for another stay.

My wife and I wanted to spend a week of relaxation in the North Carolina inner and outer banks area with no stress and no schedule. I reserved 7 nights and arrived on a Friday to find that we were extended a discount for our stay. What a great way to start our week. Giuliano and Mike are very accommodating innkeepers and Giuliano's cooking always hit the spot. His macaroons are particularly addicting. This B&B is well kept, clean, roomy, light, and inviting. The Pack House has DVDs, books, internet, TV, kitchens and comfortable places to hang out. It would be a great place for a family gathering! Parking is plentiful too. The area is convenient to the outer banks, Virginia Beach (a little further) and the Albemarle Sound. Edenton itself is a quaint little town with some nice restaurants and shops. If you go, order up some extra blueberry pancakes before you start your day's activities. They are the genuine article and you won't regret it. Thanks Mike & Giuliano!

We thoroughly enjoyed the amenities, scrumptious meals, and quaint charm of the Pack House Inn. As the parents of 4 children, we rarely travel, and when we do, it is difficult to find lodging for under $150/night which is nothing except a place to sleep. At the Pack House Inn, we enjoyed a wonderfully comfortable room in the heart of historic Edenton, NC, decorated with charming artwork and antique furniture. The owners/innkeepers pay close attention to every detail to ensure their guests enjoy a perfectly relaxing experience. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Stayed 2 nights. Knew we'd have to move rooms after 1st night, no problem with that. !st room had no baggage rack or waste basket, latter soon provided. Bags moved for us to 2nd room but found door left open when we returned at 9pm. Bags just dumped on floor. Waste basket in bathroom unemptied after previous guests. Cold night so hunted for blanket to no avail. Quilt in closet was damp and unfit for use. Used bathrobes on bed to keep warm! Breakfasts OK but nothing special, horrible coffee. We would describe the innkeepers as pretty unfriendly, we generally had better hospitality from motel staff! Arriving back at 9pm we went to the guest kitchen to make coffee but the machine had been left on with an empty coffee jug, there was no milk and dirty plates left around. A lovely house & furnishings in a very pleasant town, just very disappointing overall. Not really what one would expect from the Innkeepers of the Year 2011!
We seek to ensure a quality stay for every guest. The Owner and Innkeeper are always available 24/7 to answer any requests. My cell phone number is posted at the Office and in each guest room for help/emergency contact. If any guest needs an extra blanket or a new one, we are happy to accomodate their request. During their stay, we were completly booked with 40 guests. We strive to give uniform service and exceptional hospitality to everyone. I apologize if there was any inconveinence. We did everything to accomodate this guest during their stay, including personally moving their bags between rooms. Which they confirmed they were okay with at time of booking. The only complaint I received was there was no trash can in the bathroom. I resolved that issue. There are dampers in room #8 to control the heat. I noticed they were closed from the prior guest. The heat issue would of been resolved by simply opening them. They are located beside the bed and in the bathroom. The husband wrote this comment in our guest book... September 22--(last name of guest) Chinor-England "Very comfortable, excellent breakfast and good coffee. Many thanks. (????? I am puzzled why the wife would write such a review.)

Staying at The Pack House Inn was luxurious at an affordable price. The rooms were exactly like what the picture showed and the innkeeper and staff were very polite. Breakfast was buffet style and the staff wanted to make your stay as pleasant and really tried to please you with whatever you needed. I was surprised by the area in that it seemed very urban, but no one bothered you in the neighborhood and I knew that I was safe after speaking to the innkeeper about my concern. I live in New Jersey and in some areas, you don't feel safe. I would recommend The Pack House Inn to others seeking an escape from daily life and whom ever wants luxury at an affordable price.

The front porch was cover with cob webs and dirt. It was a nice wraparound porch that atracked me to this B&B on the web site but, we could not enjoyed it. I mention it to the Innkeeper. He made excusses but, later had it cleaned by the end of our stay. However, there was no where to sit.
Mike Scalpi, the owner addressed your concern. Hurricane Irene just past. Our maintainence man was unavailable to do our monthly cleaning of the Proprietor's porch, due to the needs of the storm victims. He offered you to sit on the pack house porch which accomodates 16 guests and Tillie bond porch which holds 5 guests. Value?? You paid $99 plus tax for your guest room. The former owners got $299 for the same room you stayed in. The Super 8 is $79.00 with no porch or amenities....

My finance and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pack House Inn. We were not overly thrilled with Edenton; however, it was a nice, quiet and low-key weekend. The room where we stayed was right across the hall from the kitchen, which made for a loud night, but the room itself was delightful. Breakfast the next day was far more than we expected - it was like having a big family breakfast - very well done. The entire Inn was filled with books - if you're a reader, this is a fantastic place to browse.

I spent the night at the Pack House Inn. There are actually 3 different buildings. I stayed in the main building. I was offered a choice of wines by Guilanno, one of the owners. The room was spacious, with TV, DVD player and DVDS available downstairs to take and watch. Wifi Service is also available. The bathroom had a separate shower, tub, and toilet, with sinks in both the toilet area and a vanity next to the bathtub and showers. Soaps and shampoo was there to use, along with a personal note, if other toilitries were needed. The canopy bed was comfortable and I awoke the next day to eat breakfast in the Tillie House, which had a dining area, kitchen, and also bedrooms for other guests. I had a choice of Eggs Bendict or pancakes, coffee and orange juice. Guillano, one of the innkeepers is also the chef. There are plans to open a restaurant in the bandb in the future. It was a great place to relax and unwind, with things to do in nearby towns, along with a tourism office in Edenton with trolley rides available or walking tours. Great stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Pack House for 2 nights during a brief getaway from the Hampton Roads area. Our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed breakfast. It is located within walking distance of the waterfront area where several restaurants and shops were located.

It's wonderful to have a place to stay as nice as the town it's in.

Great place. The rooms were large and old fashioned. I might just be charmed by the North Carolina lifestyle, but this place was amazing!

Our room was very comfortable and clean as is the Inn. My "meet expectations" ratings reflect that many previous reviews established high expectations for this Inn. When we arrived we had a minor problem finding someone to check us in but that may have just been a timing fluke. We got upgraded to a larger room because the air conditioner in the room we reserved was not working properly. It seems that we may have caught them on an off day for breakfast. Our blueberry pancakes were almost perfectly round and uniform in size and appearance but not exceptionally tasty. They looked like pancakes that are cooked in a microwave.

My sister and I visited Edenton for a third time. Each time we chose to stay with Michael and Giuliano. On our first two visits we stayed in The Pack House Inn. This time we chose to stay at The Proprietor's. We chose room number 5 and it was beautiful! The AC was great as it was a hot and humid weekend and we always do a lot of walking around town. Breakfast was wonderful as usual. They were very busy as both Inns were full during our visit but they were very attentive and kept our coffee cups and water glasses filled! After over 30 years in the hospitality industry my expectations are very high when I dine out or stay in a hotel or B&B and my expectations are always met with these two gentlemen. I look forward to another visit.

Our stay at The Pack House was wonderful. The room was spotless, the house itself fabulous. I loved the choices of tea in the kitchen, the children loved the cookies.

Used the 24 hr check in rate which is an exceptional marketing idea. The Pack House's antiques/decor is amazing. The room was nice and quiet! Only draw back was that we weren't able to stay for the breakfast (relayed this at reservation time) and wish we had known that we could of possibly asked for a "to go" bag as it stated in a posted review article.

Elegant, clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Amazing breakfast with many choices and personal, friendly service. However they were not available in office to return our call when we had problems figuring out how to drain the tub late at night and we had to make do without their help. They promised to fix it after we left the next day. Also we never found the snacks! Otherwise a very enjoyable experience at our first B&B and we would love to stay there again!

We were greeted promptly by the manager who had our receipt and keys ready along with a complimentary bottle of wine (small bottle). Since he was not full, he even suggested we look at some other rooms besides the one we had pre-selected in case we wanted to climb less stairs. The old building is charming and the inn keepers gracious. The breakfast was a great array of eggs, potatoes, ham, sausage, fresh fruit, spice cake, lemon pound cake, juice, cereals, ... other things I didn't get to. Plenty of suggestions about how to feed and entertain ourselves in town. We recommend a visit.

This B&B is within walking distance of many restaurants and other sites of historical interest. It has several buildings and is furnished with period pieces. Each room is unique. The full breakfast is a real change from other B&B's we've used. One of the owners was always present either in the office or the dining room. We were greeted with a split of wine and offered the opportunity to move to a larger room if we preferred. We would love to spend more time at The Pack House. Everything about it said 'quality' and the price was no more than the average B&B.

My family and I stayed for several nights at The Pack House Inn and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The innkeeper, Giuliano, went out of his way to provide for all of our comforts and to make us feel so welcome! He kept coffee going, snacks out, provided complimentary wine, and wonderful full course breakfasts. The Pack House parlor is comfortable and inviting and we enjoyed each evening there meeting new friends, laughing, and talking. Before my family left, we were already planning our next visit! We may make it a yearly mini-vacation. Please go...you will absolutely love your stay!

The Pack House Inn was our first experience with a bed and breakfast. Because our son plays with the Edenton Steamers and the inn had been recommended by a former player's mother, we decided to try the inn in early June. We were thrilled. The rooms were large and comfortable, the innkeepers were gracious and friendly, the service was excellent, and the breakfast was a treat. The inn is in the heart of the historic district, just blocks away from the Steamers field and the downtown shops and restuarants. The front porch rockers were always inviting! As a result, we chose to stay here on our second visit to Edenton. Staying at the Pack House was a refreshing change from chain motels.

The pack house was a home away from home. I havent slept so well in weeks. It was such a peaceful and delightful trip. The staff were great. Breakfast was awesome and the best part was sitting on the porch with our complimentary bottle of merlot given to us at check in. I would no doubt recommend this B&B to anyone. We did check out the other inns in town before our stay and Iam very happy we chose The Pack House. Hopefully we can return sooner then later!!!!!

We are from Seattle and this stay was a pleasent time. Room was very nice and clean. Bed was like new and nicely made each day. Only 2 suggestions. #1. Service was odd, there was only an envelope with a key that greated us and no one told us what the house rules were or any of the history of the place.. not bad, just odd. #2. bath shower had a sponge type mat.. although it was clean, it "could" have been a breeding ground for bacteria. Other than those two small issues, we really liked this place and will return. BE SURE and visit the visitors center... great people and this town is actually very cool.
Thank you fo taking the time to post a review. When guests arrive after 9 PM. If I am out shopping, I will leave your receipt in an addressed envelope, in the reception area. There was a welcome letter and instructions for breakfast there. In response to our mats. They are washing machine bleach sanitized each time. I have found guests prefer the softer mat as aposed to the hard plastic ones.

I have stayed at this Inn for over 15 years spending 1 to 2 nights there each month. The new owners have taken the Pack House Inn (The Lords Proprietors Inn) to the next level of accomondation. Why would anyone want to stay at a hotel when they have access to an Inn of this calibur. Because of this Inn I now search for other B&Bs in other cities that I visit. And I judge them all by the quality of the Pack House Inn. I have to date not found one to be as inviting as this Inn. Many Thanks to the Inn Keepers.

In the heat of July we spent two relaxing nights at the Pack House. Amenities were far above average, with multiple high quality bathroom items, very comfortable furniture and bedding, large, bright room, 24 hour common kitchen with ice, coffee, tea, cakes and crackers always on hand and as well as cheese during the cocktail hour, spacious and gracefully decorated public rooms, wide front porch with swings and rocking chairs. Our breakfast on Saturday and Sunday was excellent and included eggs and sausage and ham as well as fresh sliced fruit and fresh breads with juices and tea. Innkeepers were attentive, professional and obviously cared that their inn offer only the best. We stayed in the Pack House which is an old tobacco packing building, moved to the current location and renovated. It was quite a handsome place. Edenton is a quiet town with much history and pleasant walking. The Pack House is a gem and is strongly recommended!

My siblings and sib-in-laws enjoy a week-end away each summer. We chose Edenton because of our historical connections with our fraternal linage. The Pack House is located so conviently to the historical district and was easy to find. Our Innkeeper was most gracious! The accomadations were lovely, quaint and in keeping with the period of the home. Everything was clean, service was exceptional, and the food was delicious! Our Innkeeper was also very knowledgeable about the history of his B&B as well as the area. We plan to make another trip in the near future! Thanks Pack House!

What a lovely room in a such charming house! We were made to feel right at home immediately by the host. The guests all seemed happy and convivial. I loved the 'great room' with it's well stocked bookshelf and comfy seats. The front porch was a great place to relax and chat. The breakfast (it was a buffet that day) was delicious. We only stayed one night, but Edenton is clearly worth another trip and I would stay here again and again—and I hope to.

Our Visit to The Pack House Inn was enjoyable, memorable, and impressive. This was only our second stay at a B&B. We are learning that each B&B has it's own personality, and this one is a subtle mix of Victorain ambiance, early American subtext and Southern hospitality in a blend of style and grace. The room (#4) was grand from furnishings to paint scheme. The ammenities were those of a 5 star European hotel from individual robes, to Q-tips and makeup pads. The open guest kitchen for snacks and coffee, with a huge library of books and DVDs, make it a warm and inviting package. Dining in the mornig was a pleasure and our host, Giuliano was engaging and friendly providing history of the city, the buildings and his family. We were so impressed we are surprising our Daughter and son in law with a weekend at the Pack House We'll be back for sure.

Stayed at the Pack House Inn one night on the way to OBX. Loved everything about it. The accommodations were lovely, snacks and beverages were always available including fresh made cookies, macaroons. There was a movie library for in-room use. The decor was historic and charming. Breakfast was delicious and we were able to mingle with other guests. There was a big lawn in the front that we used to play tag with our children, ages 6 and 9. It was only a few blocks to the soda/ice cream shop or the Edenton visitors center. There was a bus tour of the historic houses in town for $10pp that was very informative. Lastly, Guiliano was a wonderful inn keeper. He was helpful, knowledgeable, yet stayed out of our way enough to make us feel like we owned the place! I bought his cookbook and am eager to replicate his delicious food. I am very pleased with our stay and will come back in the future!

My girlfriend and I decided to head down to Edenton, and booked this room last minute (and saved money by booking it within 24 hrs of when we wanted to stay) We arrived at 2:00 pm (we were told that check-in wasn't until 3:00 pm) but were able to check in early because the room was clean. The room was VERY clean. Spacious, exactly as advertised, and quaint. Innkeeper was nice enough with the little interaction we had with him. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, just wish we had known to ask for a gluten free menu for my girlfriend. Only thing I would change is that the website offered us a time we wanted to check in, which we found out didn't matter because check-in time was 3:00 pm. No big deal really, we would have just adjusted our arrival time if we had known. I definitely recommend this place!

We would have preferred a plainer fare for breakfast, ie; pancakes, eggs, french toast.
Thank You for taking the time to post a review of the Pack House. We offer our guests two different items at breakfast, I would of been glad to prepare pancakes or french toast for you, instead of the gourmet entree...

I think The Pack House Inn exemplifies why people choose bed & breakfasts -- great service, charming & comfortable surroundings, and delicious breakfast & treats, all for the same price as a nice hotel room. For me, the critical facet of any service relationship is how the provider handles unexpected issues, and The Pack House passed this test with flying colors. When we told Giuliano that our bathroom's door knob was loose, he was appropriately concerned, and he took care of the problem before we returned that afternoon. The Pack House Inn manages to be friendly, elegant, and a little quirky all at the same time. (Quirky: the bed frame was slightly bigger than the quite comfortable mattress, making us wonder which of them was not standard size...) We enjoyed seeing how different the three buildings are, and that all guests have the opportunity to visit each one. And given that we wanted a quiet evening, the inn's large collection of DVDs was impressive and appreciated. We have no problem recommending this inn.
Thank you for taking the time to do a review. The reason about the bed frame. All of our beds in The Pack House, were handcrafted and custom made by: Benjamin Hobbs. He won Colonial Williamsburg 2011 Master craftsman furniture award. I appreciate that you recognized all the little things that make our Inn so unique...

My wife and I stayed three nights in The Pack House Inn, and our stay was delightful. Edenton is a beautiful town, and the inlet waterfront was just blocks away. We had a large corner room upstairs (Governor's/#21) with a seating area, canopy King-size bed, large bathroom, full bath, large shower, and separate toilet room. The amenities of a large room, tv/dvd, 24-hour snack kitchen, porch, delicious breakfast, etc...really put our stay over-the-top. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone (particularly couples) staying in the area. We used our stay as a jump-off point to make day trips to the Outer Banks and Roanoke Island. Although the drive was long-ish (about an hour) it was well worth it to enjoy the peace and quiet. A great alternative to the busy beach traffic in peak season, and a great value compared to smelly seaside holes-in-the-wall. Southern comfort and charm, and especially good food. Thanks!

We enjoyed our stay at the Pack House Inn, but we didn't find it quite as fabulous as the reviews would suggest. Each of the buildings at the Pack House Inn was beautiful, if somewhat inconsistently renovated and updated. Our room was tasteful, huge, comfortable, very clean, and a great price. However, the amenities and services at the Inn were inconsistent and sometimes missing or exaggerated - a mix of bargain basement and a higher end. The expensive comforters and designer lamps didn't quite match the Suave shampoo and dollar store vases. We felt very uncomfortable when we arrived, and instead of being greeted we had to seek out the innkeepers who acted as if we were disturbing them. However, the breakfast was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Edenton is a very small town without much to do, and unfortunately we also had a food poisoning episode at a local restaurant. But if you are looking for a reasonably priced B&B Inn, this might be the place for you.

i had stayed at the Proprietors Inn about 8-9 years ago several times for work, it was wonderful to come back this time for a short vacation with my husband. We stayed in the Pack House this time and stayed in the end room by the kitchen. the room was vey large and so was the bathroom with our own private deck. just a joyful time. we gotn to breakfast late, it was buffet style and they were running out of food. so we didn't much enjoy that part. but everything else was wonderful.

We loved The Pack House Inn and plan on many returns to this wonderful "home away from home". We felt so comfortable and relaxed. The 24 hour snack kitchen was so refreshing and I could not avoid those delicious ginger snap cookies! The breakfast was superb! I especially loved the quiet tinkling of real dishes and not the standard paper/plastic of generic hotels. I highly recommend - but save a room for my return!

My wife & I chose The Pack House Inn for a weekend getaway in June and so enjoyed our stay that we went back the next weekend for seconds. The innkeepers are worthy of their 2011 Innkeepers of the Year Award - friendly, engaging and attentive. The Inn itself is very inviting and relaxing, the rooms large, bright and pleasantly decorated, the beds comfortable, the breakfasts beyond compare. We fell in love with the front porch rocking chairs and swings - they're the perfect recipe for stress relief, offering a soothing respite from our busy everyday lives. In short, The Pack House Inn provided us with a wonderful, peaceful getaway weekend - twice!

I grew up in a small town, but have been living in the Washington, D.C. region for nearly 13 years now. Edenton was a welcome reminder of where I grew up...it is a quaint little town where one can expect to unwind, relax and be treated with Southern comforts. We were incredibly impressed with our stay there as well as the innkeepers. We arrived late at night, but we were greeted by Michael, who told us to let him know if we needed anything at all. We were thrilled to find a clean, comfortable bed awaiting us after our long drive. Our "Reagan" room was located in the Proprietor's Inn, so because it had recently been renovated, we were the first to stay in the bed. Everything was fresh and new, the bedding was incredibly comfortable, and they provided toiletries and a complimentary bottle of wine for us to enjoy. At breakfast the next day, both Michael and Giuliano were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was delicious...fresh coffee, fruit, Eggs Benedict with home fries, and delicious cinnamon bread, which was still warm and fresh out of the oven. Because Giuliano shares a last name with my grandmother, he stepped out of the kitchen for a moment to chat with us and told me stories of his family in Sicily. We were both intrigued with all of their antiques, so Giuliano gave us permission to take pictures of whatever we'd like. He was also kind enough to give us a tour of the rest of the rooms in the Proprietor's Inn, in addition to the on-site restaurant, which was in the process of being opened for business. When innkeepers pay attention to detail and genuinely want to please their guests, it makes for a memorable visit. Clearly Michael and Giuliano want their guests to be pleased, which further supports why they earned the "Innkeepers of the Year" title. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay that we didn't want to leave. However, we do intend to return and have even considered getting married there. That's how much we loved it.

From our arrival to departure we were made extremely welcome and well catered for. The setting is terrific, the rooms designed by someone with real flair ( we naturally suspect it was Guiliano), and future plans for the development are exciting. We just hope we can get back to see them. We particularly liked breakfast time and not just for the food provided. The use of two rooms to seat everyone gave an opportunity to chat with other guests almost en famille. Please go if you can, you will not regret it. We came a long way to be there and we'll do it again. Peter and Carol Moules Putney London

We were looking for a place to get away and unwind for the weekend and friends recommended the Pack House Inn. Almost immediately upon arrival we knew we had made the right decision. The property was immaculately maintained and tastefully decorated reflecting an era long sense passed. Throughout the complex all our senses were immediately soothed and relaxed with a welcoming, down home feel. From the scent of gardenias walking past the garden on the way to check in to the wooden floors, oriental rugs and antique furniture strategically located thruout the house. We were shown our room which was painted in a soothing soft yellow with crown molding and a wonderful, comfortable king sized poster bed. Of course there were plenty of "modern" conveniences included everywhere. The propriator, Giuliano gladly made us aware of local restaraunts and pointed out the town welcome center complete with a short film on the town. The next morning complimentary breakfast was freshly made and served to us and was a great way to start the day. Edenton is a combination of a small town Mayberry with a touch of the 1800's thrown in. Everything about the Pack House Inn exceeded expectations and we look forward to our next visit.

The Pack House Inn is a very unique and interesting building. We loved the rustic wood plank floors! Our room was spacious. Our bathroom had a large walk in shower, and a separate room with the toilet and a sink. There was another sink in the main bath area as well. There were many complimentary "extras" at this place like wine, snacks, DVDs to watch, etc…. The proprietor was friendly and helpful and gave us a great recommendation for supper. The inn is close to downtown, so we walked to supper and the pier. Definitely would stay here again!

We've been going to Edenton for 10 years and have stayed in a number of places there, to include a chain motel and several B&Bs. This one is one of the best. Large and clean rooms, best location for in-town activities, pleasant staff. Tasty breakfasts. Worth a return visit for us and first time visitors would be hard pressed to find a nicer place. As a bonus, it appears that the owners will be opening an on-premises restaurant later this year. Very handy for Edenton Sundays.

Stay was most enjoyable and breakfasts were awesome! Only room for improvement was the complimentary cheese and crackers in the main house. It was a package of cheddar cheese you sliced yourself and saltine crackers. Hardly comparable to the wonderful Easter morning breakfast they served in elegant style! Rooms were very neat and tidy. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom hook had fallen off wall and was reattached in a different place, but the hole in the wall had not been repaired. Complimentary small bottle of wine in each room was a really nice treat. Porches with rockers and swing were so nice to sit and drink that wine! Landscaping was beautiful. Edenton was a wonderful town and we will return and stay at the Pack House again!

First let me start by saying we would definitely return to the Pack House Inn. We stayed in room 18-The Honeymoon Suite. We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. The room was a great size, had beautiful furnishings and was well appointed. My only negatives were that the room needed a thorough dusting of the floors/baseboards/furnishings. The TV was quite small and hard to hear in such a big room but was minimally adequate. And the house sits on the edge of a rougher part of town. But I guess that is expected when the location of the house is in a downtown location. We did walk from the house to dinner and felt safe. We loved sitting on the front porch in the swings and rockers. The history of the house was fascinating to us. Breakfast was very good. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. Coffee was great. Edenton is beautiful, I would return, I would stay again at this B&B. So more good than bad. Go visit. It was definitely worth it.
Thank You for taking the time to review our Inn. I apologize if you felt your room was not dusted enough. We do have a 100% Sanitation Score and are the only accomodation in Edenton to be rated 5-stars.

My mother and I just stayed at the wonderful Pack House Inn for the third time and found it even more magical than the first time. Our handicapped accessible room was truly accessible and pretty, cozy, comfortable, and large. We went 200 miles out of our way to stay this time because we had enjoyed it so much before. And it lived up to our expectations. They are expanding into a large adjacent old house and planning an on site fine dining restaurant. A real destination. Edenton continues fascinating as a glimpse into coastal NC’s golden era. Guiliano made reservations for us at River House and we had a terrific meal overlooking the water. We’d go 300 miles out of our way to stay again! Thanks Guiliano and Mike. Darrie and Diana
Thank You for returning to the Pack House,it was wonderful to see old friends again. Your Mother and yourself have seen the Pack House evolve into a village Inn. Until we meet again, may God bless you...

The town is quaint. The furnishings and house were very nice, but the hospitality was lukewarm. Food was very average. It was noisy -- vacuum above, proprietors' workspace outside room.
I was not going to dignify myself and respond to your review. But I must, you see over 3,000 guests have stayed with us. Several attemps were made to you, Like how are you?, Like good morning? You simply ignored us. We respect our guests privacy. I welcomed you and gave you a tour of the Inn. You simply took your key and went to your room without a word. We met again in the evening I said good evening, you rolled your eyes and ignored me. a 3rd attempt was made at breakfast, you did not eat your breakfast and slammed the front door. Another guest told me as you were leaving the parking lot, you flew out hitting her with dust and rocks. For your information, Mike and I were chosen The 2011 National Innkeeper's of the Year, this award is based on hospitality!!

Stayed here many years ago and was very pleased to see that the high level of service & quality were still present. Rooms are spacious and comfortable; breakfasts were excellent and the location is perfect. Edenton is one of Forbes prettiest small towns and the Packhouse is a perfect spot from which to enjoy the town.

The Pack House Inn is very nice. Why would anyone want to stay at a hotel near the highway for about the same price? The Pack House is quieter and the food is certainly better. Edenton is a nice walkable little town and staying here you can walk everywhere. Enjoy!

Our room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities, the bed was comfortable but our 11 yo son felt that the rollaway was too soft, the innkeeper was somewhat serious but friendly enough (preoccupied maybe?) and having full access to the kitchen was very nice, we stored some microbrews we bought at the local trading post. My complaint that didn't allow me to give 5 dots for cleanliness is the darkened grout on the floor of the shower whereas the rest of the shower stall had white grout, including the first tiles surrounding the floor. Made me think it was mildewy, but everywhere else was spotless! The food was just ok (coffee was good, though!) and we shared the B&B with a few seniors who were watching tv in the common room at an excessively loud volume. Thank goodness they quit at ten pm. Obviously not something that would occur all the time. I would recommend and if there was more to do in Edenton, I would go back and stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at the Pack Inn on April 8th and 9th to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived early and the proprietor was ready for us. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It had all the amenities of a fine hotel. Some of the things we enjoyed: special soaps, bathrobes, wifi, dvd with a good selection of movies, a large selection of books and magazines and a private patio. The rocking chair front porch was also a favorite. The location was excellent. We parked our car upon arrival on Friday and did not move it until we departed on Sunday. Everything was within walking distance of the inn. It was convenient to restuarants, historic sites, tours, and a movie theater. The food was outstanding. The Pack House puts "Breakfast" in Bed and Breakfast. We had fresh fruit each morning, a delicious entree for breakfast and a "desert". Other snacks and beverages were available throughout the day (my husband particularly like the cheese and crackers). We would rate this inn as a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. We definitely will stay again and tell family and friends about it!

We stayed six nights and enjoyed the Inn. The innkeepers were very gracious and unobtrusive, but provided everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Housekeeping was immaculate.

This Inn, built in 1915, is extremely charming inside and out, and the feeling is homey and easy going. The amenities are average, but the location is within walking distance of most of Edenton's sights. The staff is welcoming, but not "in your face" every moment you're there.

We had a remarkable stay relaxing on the porch and enjoying the Inn. The 24 hour kitchen is a big plus. Sunday we ordered a pizza delivered and ate it in the great room. The ambience could not have been better. The only suggestion I might make for "improvement" would be a big friendly dog.

The Inn was beautiful and had everything we could need at hand. They were also running a special that gave me 30$ off the room I wanted each night. Has to be the best B&B in Edenton for the best value!

I enjoyed my recent stay at the Packhouse Inn! It was very quiet and relaxing. My room was incredibly clean and neat and the bathroom was as well. The bathroom was well-stocked with amenities! When I checked in to my room, I was shown the 24-hour guest kitchen w/free coffee, soda, and snacks, and then shown to my room where I was greeted by a complimentary bottle of wine. In the morning, breakfast was wonderful in service, taste (blueberry pancakes with Canadian bacon, fresh fruit, and warm vanilla-lemon cake), and charm. Overall, HIGHLY recommend the Pack House Inn for a wonderful, relaxing stay at an amazing price.

I was here for a birthday party, the whole inn was booked for this event, and I am telling you this place should get more than 5 stars! Gorgeous rooms, impeccably clean, and wonderful, accomodating service. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who wants a truly nice experience. Giuliano and Micheal were superb! Thanks so much........I cannot wait to come back........close to historical spots, shopping great food at 309 on main st......near the water, great for walking and driving. We felt right at home. Run, don't walk to the Pack House inn.

We had decided on the spur of the moment to visit NC's best kept secret...Edenton, NC and The Pack House. Their website was right on target with not one thing misleading. Giuliano and Mike are truly the most gracious of gentlemen that I have had the pleasure of meeting. The food was the best way to start off days of exploration. Not your basic fare but truly waking up the taste buds thru the culinary experience of both gentlemen. They were generous in their helping us finds points of interest as well as other eating establishments for our other meals. We will go back in the Spring to visit them and to see the next season. We spent 1 night in the Pack house Inn and will certainly consider staying there in the future. The rooms and the common area are furnished beautifully. We were in Edenton for a family gathering on a Saturday, but I had business in Vermont on Friday night so we had to drive all night to get to Edenton. Mike and Guilano were very accomodating in letting us check in at 9:00 AM so we could get some sleep before our gathering. The only "glitch" was at breakfast when Mike offered to prepare eggs however we wanted, but did not mention pancakes were also available. We had a bottle of Vermont maple syrup that we had just purchased and my wife was dying to taste it. All in all it was a wonderful experience and well worth the money over the chain hotels in town.

Perfect service. Never intrusive, but always available. Lovely bed linens & the best, most spacious bathrooms of any B&B we've ever visited. Very comfortable mattress & very nice sitting/reading area in our room. The 24 hour kitchen was good... with expresso, coffee, tea, bottle water available whenever we wanted. Would recommend to anyone.

We have stayed at many B and Bs in Canada, Europe and the U.S. but our recent three night stay at The Pack House was certainly one of the most memorable. This former tobacco packing house is warm, beautifully decorated, and has a very comfortable and homey feel to it. Michael and Guliano make you feel like you are family.

The Pack House Inn was truly the Best B&B we have ever stayed in. Our room like all the others was spacious, well furnished, clean and as comfortable as our own home. The lobby was spectacular, with a abundance of reading material, DVDs and games. They have a guest kitchen with snacks, water, sodas, coffees and teas. Giuliano and Michael were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast they served us the next morning was of a gourmet quality. It was served in courses starting with a fresh fruit bowl, followed by a delicious egg souffle and roasted potatoes with a hint of cinnamon and topped off with an apple cake. Kudos to Giuliano and Michael.

The Pack house Inn, in Edenton, North Carolina exceeded my expectations this was my first visit to bed and breakfasts. I was very impressed when I drove up with just the layout of the B&B. For me it was like a step back in time from the moment I stepped inside the Inn. The cleanliness, amenities, the inn keeper provided with the attention for detail is great plus. Also a delicious breakfasts made it wroth the stay. Giuliano is gifted and outstanding chef in my opinion. The room was quite and very comfortable made me feel right at home beyond my expectation! It was awesome that inn keeper knew the local history of the Inn and the area. Most of all I loved the gracious and the hospitable for this time and day it was a freshen start from the busy world we live in. I truly felt pampered and rested from my stay. It worthwhile checking out if you want that experience of small town full of history. I just wanted to say I truly appreciated heartfelt welcomed awesome hospitality showed during my stay. The Pack House Inn definitely at the top of list for another visit.

Beautiful inn and Room 21 is certainly one of the most beautiful we have stayed in. (Of course, now that I have told you that, it will probably be impossible to book again!) We had no interactions with the innkeepers except for a passing moment which I found a bit unusual for a B&B. I was a bit disappointed in breakfast- perhaps too much emphasis on sugar and butter- the grits (which I do LOVE) were literally swimming in butter. I like the indulgence, but perhaps a bit of restraint may be in order.

We stayed for 4 days and were very happy with the comfort and value for money. The Inn is well situated and close to the local restaurants and amenities in Edenton. We were slightly disappointed with the breakfasts, principally because our expectations had been raised by the magnificent reviews; we felt they we good, but not that good, mainly because they were all slight variations of the same theme. Overall however we'd be happy to recommend the Pack House.
Thank you for posting a review of our Inn. I am happy that you were pleased with the value for your money. Mike and I have reduced the rates in half of what they were from the former Lords Proprietor Inn. With todays economy, guests are looking for the best value for their money. I am saddened that you were slightly disappointed with our breakfasts. I wish you would of told us what you wanted or expected from breakfast, I certainly would of made what you desired. Our guests satisfaction, is of our greatest concern. Thank You,

Over the past 6 months we have visited the Pack House several times and have found that the high quality of service has been retained or even improved to the extent possible. Giuliano and Mike have continued the personal attention to guests needs and are by far the most accommodating hosts I have ever met.

The cleanliness, amenties provided, attention to details, delicious breakfasts each morning, Giuliano is a gifted chef. Mike and Giuliano make perfect hosts, they take hospitality to a new level.... The Inn was convienently located within shops, restaurants and the Edenton Visitor center. We didn't even drive our car the 3 nights we stayed there. Everything was absolutly outstanding. Wife and I stayed in Room #20. Key was left out for us when we arrived, didn't really have much interaction with the innkeepers. Espresso machine, beverages, snacks were in the guest kitchen - nice touch. The room was very spacious, bathroom was nice, overall exceeded expectations. Breakfast was somewhat plain (bland eggs, pancakes, etc.); honestly expected better. Overall, would recommend.

Our stay at the Pack House Inn was all we could have wished for--a clean, bright room filled with pictures and antiques with a private patio on which to enjoy a glass of wine supplied by our very pleasant hosts. This is an outstanding establishment. My wife and I thought of the bed and breakfasts we have visited, this is likely the best one in many respects: value, accommodations, amenities, friendliness without being intrusive, and relaxation. My brother, sister, I and our respective spouses chose The Pack House as being a convenient equidistance from all of us as well as a relaxing place and town.

My wife and I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary. It was a nice change of pace from our hectic schedules. This was our first time staying at a B&B, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast was great, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. We had one issue. We put the "no room service/do not disturb" sign on our door, and our room was cleaned anyway. (we never have rooms made up while we stay)

Our experience staying at the Inn was everything we were hoping for and then some. It was relaxing and peaceful like we were the only people there. The InnKeepers both Giuliano and Michael were most gracious and hospitable. The fresh picked flowers on the tables for breakfast made you feel special. We will definately return and recommend the Inn to all. You will not be disappointed and the housekeeping speaks for itself.

If you are ever in Edenton, NC, and want a great place to stay, choose The Pack House Inn. My husband and I met friends there for a couple of days and we couldn't have had a better time. When we arrived there were fresh flowers in our room and the room itself was large, beautiful, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The innkeepers, Mike and Guiliano, couldn't have been more accommodating and it is evident that they enjoy what they are doing. The front porch was a wonderful place to spend a summer afternoon and we plan to return.

The on-line pictures were nice, the reality was even better. We stayed in room #21. It was very large, the bed very comfortable. In the picture of the Inn the top three windows on the left are our room and bathroom The bath room had both a bathtub and a very large shower. We will be back.

This was a lovely B&B. The innkeepers were exceptional. Mike was the one we spoke with most often, and he was simply delightful! It was a very private experience, and the room was nice. The only thing I would suggest is to get a room upstairs. We were on the bottom floor and heard the floor boards overhead quite often. The dining experience was amazing. It was a three course breakfast and a brilliant five stars! Great choice for staying in Edenton!

We packed the Pack House Inn with guests of a family wedding, including bride and her family. Confusing, panicked, complicated as weddings tend to be...but in all aspects the Pack House Inn hosts came through to assist, advise or even solve problems. I loved the rooms and decor--it was a lovely place. Very clean. Staff were all very nice, professional, and helpful. They accommodated special requests/favors without hesitation. Amenities, snacks, drinks, a guest kitchen, great breakfasts, irons/ironing boards!! It felt like home and Guliano helped keep things calm when it started to get hectic.

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at The Pack House, using it as home back to tour the area. It was incredible. Frankly, I wasn't looking forward to the trip or the stay, but I sad to leave. The rooms are very large and tastefully decorated. Nice and clean everyday. The building is a great place to relax, with a large sitting area inside and a porch across the front of the building to sit and read, or meet up with other guests. Having a guest kitchen is a great idea. Snacks, cold drinks were always available and the wine and cheese in the evening tops off your day or is a great lead into your evening... The breakfasts were incredible. Each morning we had a different meal served by Michael who was always warm and friendly. The Pack House is centrally located in town so walking to pretty much any where you want to go is just fine. Guiliano, the host, is a terrific person and makes you feel very welcome. We have stayed in a lot of B&B's in different parts of North American and this is by far the best!

I don't usually bother to review places, because most are adequate at best. Mine was a last minute, late reservation, and I was just expecting a run-of-the-mill. glad to get a room to sleep in place. The Innkeeper had stayed up to greet me and show me around, even though the other guests had gone to their rooms for the night. The place smelled clean and fresh, and it has a very open setup on the main floor, with plenty of places to sit and read, or to visit with other guests. Although I had to leave early the next morning, and could not stay for breakfast, I was shown the dining rooms and kitchen, which is stocked with anything a late-night snacker would want. The room I stayed in was fresh, linens were actually pressed, bed was the most comfortable I've EVER been in....and the bathroom had a tiled shower room, a big soak tub, etc. The Inn was full the night I stayed, and that's a good clue as to how other guests might feel about the place. I have recommended The Inn to people I know who travel, and I recommend it to all who read this. Max Anders, Richmond Va.

Back home from a wonderful vacation! My sister and I had been wanting to visit Edenton for quite sometime. When we originally talked about it we were actually thinking of staying at another B&B. But when I did a little research I decided on The Pack House Inn...and I am so glad that I did! The Inn is everything you see from the web site and more! The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. I have always loved porches with rocking chairs and spent a lot of time there...sometimes alone and sometimes with the other guests. Whether you want privacy or prefer getting to know other people this is the place to stay! We originally were going to stay only one night but ended up staying three. We were told to make ourselves at home and we did just that. No detail is overlooked...Giuliano, Michael and Terry make sure of that! And the breakfasts, the food and the service, are perfection. And if all of that isn't enough, the prices are more than reasonable.

When on vacation from the UK we were traveling around Virgina and North Carolina only booking one stay ahead. We researched while on our travels for accommadation with good reviews and were pleased to find that there was a vacancy for the 2 nights we requested at 'The Pack House Inn'. On arrival we were so taken by the place we requested an extra night which fortunately was available. The converted tabacco store house is very atmospheric with lots of interesting and quirky artifacts. The room was very good, clean and spacious and the there were so many extra touches such as a small bottle of wine left on ice in the room and help yourself to a selection of cheese. Tea, coffee and ice available in the kitchen. Breakfast was excellent. We spent pert of our evening a the porch drinking wine, eating cheese. Perfect. Thank you for such a lovely stay we would highly recommend a stay here.

This is a charming B & B located within walking distance to downtown Edenton, NC. It was beautifully appointed with lovely antiques. The gathering room was perfect for our family get-togethers at the end of the day. The amenities (guest kitchen with stocked drinks and snacks was a nice touch. Everything was exceptionally clean, and we loved the large room and bath. The only negative were the breakfasts - much of the fruit was canned, there were too many fried potatoes, and the eggs had the same sauce two days in a row. The buffet breakfast one morning was the best. Overall, a most pleasant and enjoyable experience. Mike and Giuliano were gracious hosts.
Thank You for taking the time to post a review. My day begins at 6 a.m. each morning, I prepare sauces, souffles, home fries, cakes ect.. All are prepared from scratch, daily. Our fruit is cut fresh each morning, except the pineapple which is seasonal. I ask for details regarding dietary needs upon booking. We accomodate all of our guests dietary requests. Thank You, for bringing this to my attention...

If you like well aged floors, interesting history, large bedrooms, a large shady front porch, crisp, clean bed linens, a fresh delicious, huge breakfast, books to read, a bathroom offering items you might have forgotten or needed, white fluffy bathrobes, and an owner who is there briefly leaving you to your privacy you will enjoy and remember your stay here! The town is charming and google earth doesn't do it justice. We sat at the small harbor and watched the locals enjoying their day at the park. We came from Delaware and it was only a 4 hr drive. Bring a camera as the area is lovely...

My husband and I recently returned from a 6 night visit at The Pack House Inn B&B. The Inn is exceptionally clean with a 100% health inspection rating, (something we have never seen). If you are looking for a unique B&B that offers you a peaceful night's rest, then this is the place. The charming, rustic atmosphere with extremely comfortable beds, offers an abundant amentities. There is a kitchen with all types of beverages and snacks that are available to you anytime during the day or night. Relaxing each evening on the hugh front porch was the perfect ending of the day. The Innkeepers are extremely helpful and friendly; however, not intrusive. They offer a wonderfully filling gourmet breakfast in an adjacent historical cottage with the same charm as the Inn. It is an ideal location in walking distance to eveything Edenton has to offer. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone.

From the moment I spoke to Giuliano, I knew my wife & I were in for a special experience. Giuliano made us feel right at home from the very beginning of our stay. My wife & I spent 3 nights at the Pack House Inn. We have stayed in may B & B's intenationally and in the U.S.A., and this one is the best ever!! Giuliano and Mike are the epitome of how customer service should be. Room comfort was unsurpassed, with fine linens and high quality mattresses, and the bathroom was updated and offered every possible amenity one could want or wish for. The Pack House Inn is a gem to visit and the Inn is reminicent of yesterday Inns. Giuliano was the perfect host/Innkeeper. He made dinner reservations for me, and helped plan trips for my wife & I. One afternoon we went sailing with Captain Bill, who spoke very highly of Giuliano. We also went on the Trolley Tour which was wonderfully reccomended by Giuliano. My wife & I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We were married in Edenton, and had stayed previously at The Lords Proprietor's Inn for our Honeymoon. The Pack House was part of the former Lords Proprietors Inn. Giuliano & Mike have surpassed its former glory. Jane & Arch would be very proud!! Breakfast was a culinary delight each morning, beginning with choice of hot tea or coffee, juice, fresh fruit followed by the entree of the morning. Then topped off with a different homemade dessert of the day. Thanks for everything and for making our 25th Wedding Anniversary a treasured memory!! Giuliano Giannone and Mike Scalpi should be nominated as Best Innkeeper's of the year!! The Sinclairs, Palm Beach Fla.

We have stayed at many, many B&B's, both in the US and Europe. This is one of the best. Gracious hosts, large rooms, beautifully furnished and a wonderful breakfast. Great rates, too. We would have liked to stay a second night. A charming town, as well. A must if you are in Edenton. Glenn and Martha

This is a wonderful place to stay. You will enjoy the innkeeper who can tell you the interesting history of the inn, the rooms and fabulous furnishings, the scrumptious breakfast and the town itself. It's a worthwhile experience.

Very enjoyeable stay! The extra amenities were a surprise and an indication of the very personalized service and comfortable atmosphere of this Inn. Room was divine!

This was a great blend of relaxation and activity. Perfectly situated in historic Edenton...walk to dinner, to the riverfront, or just enjoy a glass of wine on the front porch. We enjoyed the beautiful historic homes on our evening walks. The Inn is well provisioned for guest enjoyment and privacy. We will definitely return. And the BEST eggs benedict I've ever had!

My wife and I stayed two night at The Pack House B&B. We were located in the recently refurbished cottage. The room was far more than I had expected and the bathroom was large and was well furnished with amenities. No TV in our room made it more relaxing than usual. The breakfast each morning was far beyond our expectations and our hosts made us feel most welcom. We would certainly stay if we ever get the opportunity to visit Edenton again.

My husband and I stayed at the Pack House Inn in April of this year and highly recommend it to others. We have enjoyed many B & B’s over the years but this one is special. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished with a chesterfield and TV for relaxing. There are plenty of large windows to let the sun in. The furniture and linens are of fine quality and the ensuite bathroom was even equipped with moisturizer. The common area was had several seating areas, a TV and a computer with high speed internet access. There was a small kitchen with access to coffee, tea, cappuccino and snacks. Complimentary wine and snacks were available in the late afternoon. A delicious breakfast of juice, good coffee, fruit and an individual soufflé set us off to a good start. Check-in and checkout was simple! The manager was out when we arrived but there was a note & key on the desk for us and an invitation to help ourselves to a glass of wine in the afternoon. That was a great welcome after a long day’s drive. On our last day a receipt was slipped under the door and that was it! The owner and manager prepare and serve breakfast and take care of guest so the service is better than most. Edenton is a delightful little town with a history of its own. From Ontario, Canada

The Pack House Inn is a truly magnificent destination. The Proprietors are welcoming & friendly without being obtrusive. The atmosphere is pleasurable & warm with those rare touches so infrequently found these days, that make a B&B so desirable. The location is perfect in the small historic town of Edenton, yet close enough to larger tows & attractions that a day trip to historic sites, shopping & the beach are easily within your grasp. The decor is full of classic appeal, sporting many wondrous & historical items, that the proprietors are more than happy to expand upon, while offering all of the best of the modern conveniences. The Breakfasts are truly magical while the early evening Wine & cheese are the perfect complement & break between the activities of the day and the evening to come. This is truly a brilliant spot to relax & repair after the busy days of every day life. I never wanted to leave & I look forward to returning time & again.

What a surprise! The rooms were spacious and lovely, and the house itself was full of history and charm. The proprieters were perfectly attentive, and thrilled to explain the paintings and pieces in the inn, but not even the tiniest bit intrusive. The breakfasts were perfect gourmet treats, and the afternoon wine and cheese was a fabulous rest and break between the day's activities and dinner. I fully expect to have trouble getting a room next time!

The GPS lead us right to this lovely building. The room key & receipt were waiting on a bench in the entrance way. The room was very large & nicely decorated. The bathroom was very large & stocked with anything we would need. The bed was comfortable & the night was quiet. Breakfast was delicious. The host nice & friendly. We will be back.

The Pack House Inn is now one of my favorite B&B's. My parents and I stayed there on Easter Weekend. The rooms were beautiful and everything you need was provided, including toiletries!!! We enjoyed our complimentary glass of wine and cheese on the porch. Giuliano was very friendly and the breakfast that was served was delicious. It is impossible to leave the table without being stuffed! It was too good to leave any behind:) We received five star treatment without the price. We will definitely visit the Pack House Inn again and again and I recommend it to anyone that will be visiting Edenton!!!

My Husband and I just got back from Edenton, NC. After doing some research online, I chose The Pack House Inn Bed & Breakfast. We were greated by Giuliano, The Innkeeper. He was most accomodating in every way. He recommended The Trolley Tour, which was wonderful. The Tour guide was very informative about Edenton. Giuliano was a perfect host, making Dinner Reservations for us, down to preparing a Gourmet Breakfast!! I am a strict Vegetarian, he prepared the most delicious Vegetarian Souffle that I have ever eaten...I have stayed in Edenton at other accomodations in the past. The Pack House Inn is by far The BEST!! The amenties in the bathrooms, Complimentary Wine & Cheese in the evening, all the snacks, sodas, beverages your heart desires is available in the guest kitchen. And there 100 percent Sanitation Grade, The Inn is very Clean and guest rooms are all well appointed and well decorated with tasteful antiques and artwork. We will return in the Summer..The Fitzgerald's Norfolk, VA

This past weekend four college friends met in Edenton at the Pack House for a reunion of sorts. We were very pleased with the accommodations, amenities, and the service at the Pack House. Rooms were large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Linens and towels were top of the line. We especially appreciated the common area on the first floor where we caught up on gossip, played games, enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese, and practically took over the inn. The manager/host Giuliano was especially accommodating and hospitable. He comes from a family of restauranteurs and his commitment to service was evident. Edenton is a beautiful, small, historic town and the inn is within walking distance of many of the sites and restaurants. I definitely would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who likes classy B&Bs.

I traveled to Edenton for business and had the wonderful opportunity of staying at The Pack House Inn. The rooms were clean, large but cozy and well stocked and the staff were very kind and attentive. If I ever come to Edenton again, I will definitely choose The Pack House Inn for lodging!

Beautiful historic home, with wood floors and high ceilings. Very attentive innkeepers.

The rooms and the inn had incredible charm. Great location in walking distance to stores and restaurants. Complimentary glass of wine and cheese in the evening were nice touches. Delicious breakfast topped off our experience. One fault - disappointingly weak shower heads made for a slow, difficult shower.

Accommodations are great, and the food is wonderful! I enjoy staying at the Pack House every time I am in town for business. Would recommend this B&B to all!

Edenton is a beautiful town, full of great historic houses. Loved the espresso machine and access to the guest kitchen. Breakfast was just okay, tasty, but not homemade. The innkeeper Giuliano is from Italy and was so nice! He strikes the perfect balance between hospitality and privacy. They provide everything, all little details are accounted for. The inn is is perfectly furnished and so cute. They just opened up and are in the process of renovation, but I know they will keep getting better and better.
First of all, I would like to say; Thank You for choosing The Pack House, and posting a review of our Inn. My day begins at 6 A.M. each morning, I prepare sauces, souffles, home fries, etc.. all are prepared from scratch. Our English muffins and toast are not homemade. Thanks for your constructive criticism, as we expand our Inn.

My wife and I stayed at the Pack House for one night and absolutely loved it. Wine and cheese in the evening, beautiful room, sumptuous breakfast, gracious innkeeper. What more could one ask? We had a lovely time, and are already planning on coming back.

This was the first time my husband and I have ever stayed in a B&B... and we ARE HOOKED! Our room was absolutley beautiful! The service was exceptional. The Inn took our mini weekend vacation into a whole new world for us. We felt comfortable and could not have imagined it being so wonderful! Edenton is a beautiful town and everywhere we went we came across great people and experienced new things! We can't wait to come back and we DEFINITLY will be staying at the PACK HOUSE INN!!!!

My husband & I just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Pack House Inn in Edenton, NC. What a delightful experience! The owner, Mike & innkeeper, Giuliano were both very congenial and knowledgeable about the area. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Giuliano provided us with a delicious breakfast to start our day. He provided delicious sugar-free options for my husband who is diabetic. Snacks & beverages were available at any time. Evenings we enjoyed wine, cheese & conversation with Mike. We will most definitely visit again!

I was recently lucky enough to spend two nights in the Pack House Inn. My first night there I was one of two guests and spent a quiet evening drinking wine and chatting with Mike and Giuliano - ok maybe too much wine for me. The Inn is charming, the rooms are large, beautifully furnished and comfortable. Resist the temptation to sleep in, tho the place is so quiet it would not be hard to. Enjoy the breakfast-- it's first rate and a good way to meet the other guests. It's great escape from Tidewater Virginia or NOrth Carolina's golden Triangle. Vist Edenton, it's a beautiful town.. I'll be back---

My husband and I travel to eastern NC every winter to observe the Atlantic flyway - the migration of thousands of birds to all points south from November through March. This year, we stayed in the lovely town of Edenton by the Albemarle Sound. A historic town with good restaurants, lots of artists and a great coffee shop (a must!). The town is near several significant nature sites - Merchants Mill Pond, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, McKay Island, Lake Matamuskeet and more. Great area for hiking, biking, canoeing or just strolling. We spent four nights at the newly remodeled Pack House Inn, which is walking distance from downtown. The rooms are spacious, graciously decorated, super clean, the beds are comfortable and our favorite - a large tiled bath with one of the best shower's we've had in a while. The Innkeepers were generous and very accomodating. But you best come hungry - Giuliano serves a gourmet breakfast every morning - strong coffee, fresh fruit, waffles, egg soufles, delicious! Giuliano's cooking filled us up through dinner, or at least until the evening's offering of wine and cheese. There was a guest kitchen packed with goodies and open for our use. We'll definitely go back to the Pack House Inn and recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic nature get away.

Our two night stay at the Pack House was our first use of our B&B.com certificates, our first time at the Pack House, and the first time that the Pack House hosted guests using the B&B.com. It was a winner in every respect! It has enormous rooms and bathrooms that are exceptionally clean and well cared for in every way. In addition, it is very attractive with many antiques. (See the web site which shows all 8 rooms). The innkeeper, Giuliano Giannone, works very hard to care for his guests and he cooks a very nice breakfast (different each day). We HIGHLY recommend the Pack House to everyone. W.M. and V.W. Black, Chantilly, VA

The house is lovely & decorated tastefully (not overwhelming). The rooms are spacious, clean & full of sunshine. The hosts were most accommodating & the breakfasts were outstanding (more than you can manage in one sitting).

On our Christmas migration home to Baltimore from where we now reside we happened upon The Pack House Inn in charming Edenton and met two wonderful people Mike and Giuliano and immediately felt welcomed and appreciated and that was only the beginning of a wonderful experience. My only regret was the fact that we were unable to stay more than one night! The Inn was soooooo comfortable and after dinner we relaxed as if we were staying in our own home. Of course the Inn was decorated for the Birth of our Lord which made it all the more special even down to the large real tree!!! And so I can only speak of our stay in superlatives a true and again wonderful find!!!!!

We enjoyed two nights at the Pack House Inn. LOVELY large rooms and large bathrooms. Beautifully decorated for Christmas; so quiet that often we felt we were there alone, which was a good thing. Good breakfasts; congenial owner Mike and innkeeper Giuliano. Recommend the two-hour walking tour of Edenton!

I wanted to choose a great place to take my soon to be fiance for a wonderful excursion in eastern N.C. I stumbled upon "The Pack House Inn" and made a reservation. Needless to say, It looked nice on the website, but pictures did not do it justice. The property's exterior is extremely beautiful and is modern while still keeping true to a southern-esque look. The rooms inside are EXTREMELY spacious and more than enough room to kick off your shoes, relax, and rest. The area surrounding the property is quiet and was really conducive to our romantic getaway. To my delight, my fiance said "Yes" not only to my proposal, but to my choice of this Bed & Breakfast property. She could not stop talking about the beautiful red roses. We recommend this place wholeheartedly to ANYONE who is looking for a great comfortable place with great food, service, and hospitality. The owners should have their faces beside "Southern Hospitality" in Webster's dictionary! By the way, when you go, try the chocolate covered strawberries!!

Open and inviting. We came on Thanksgiving, the keys were out for us, room open, snacks, wine, sodas and beer in the kitchen. It was like our house! We loved the casualness and ability to totally relax in every part of the inn. We will definitely stay here when in town. Great location!

My four sisters and I were visiting Edenton for a weekend. Our feet were tired, and were looking forward to a relaxing stay. Well...The Pack House was the PERFECT setting! Beautifully detailed, warm smiles, fabulous rooms, amazing front porch, and superb attention. This is much more then just a bed and breakfast; you feel like you are a guest in some one's amazing home. Hands down, one of the most comfortable stays in my travels!

We arrived after the tourist office had closed and had no accommodation for that night. We had a B&B address in a guide book but it had closed for business. He suggested a new place around the corner. What a find! Open only a few weeks The Pack House is a historic building in Edenton's historic district and has been restored beautifully. On East Albemarle you cannot miss it as there is a Model T Ford parked in front. Owner Mike Scalpi and Innkeeper Giuliano Giannone have done a brilliant job and make a great pair of hosts. Giuliano was happy to show us any empty room and we chose 19. One night became two then three - it was a wrench to leave! When we opted for a third night we moved to 18 as "our room" had been reserved. The rooms all have their own characteristics so you might prefer some to others, but any beat most hotel rooms hands down. Giuliano prepares breakfast but his claim that it is continental plus does not do it justice. It is much better than that. Likewise the wine and cheese, snacks, bathroom toiletries, robes etc etc are all much more than could be expected and the rates are reasonable too. There are good TVs and internet access, comfortable settees and a great verandah with rockers and swing. My wife said all it needed was for Giuliano to serve cream teas for it to be perfect. Unlike most reviewers we will not be able to return as quickly as we'd like as we live in the UK but we hope to be back again. If you live nearer then you have no excuse not to make regular visits. My mother and I stayed in the handicapped accessible room and it was the best we've experienced with a walk-in shower!!! And a ramp from the parking lot to our spacious and thoughtfully decorated room. Our host Giuliano couldn't have been more charming and helpful. He seemed to really enjoy taking care of his guests and is rightfully very proud of his inn and Edenton. Would definitely recommend it and look forward to visitng again. Darrie and Diana

We had a wonderfully relaxing time at this charming B&B. Both the owner and the Innkeeper went the extra mile to insure our comort. The rooms are well appointed and the amenities add that special touch that can be expected from experienced hosts. Mike and Giuliano are just such folks! The Inn is in easy strolling distance to all major attraactions in historic Edenton. We'll definitely revisit! The Martin's

Beautiful house walking distance all the charming Edenton has to offer. Amazing rooms that have all the charm and more of historical NC. Innkeeper is terribly welcoming offer the opportunity to experience the house as if we were guest of not a hotel but of his home. The porch was lovely and was the perfect place to enjoy the delicious breakfast. It was difficult to leave and return home.

The Pack House is one of the B&B experiences I've had in a while. I usually stay at B&Bs when travelling so I think I can compare. The rooms are really nicely decorated but most of all service is superb. I've seldomly experienced such good service quality at such a reasonable price. A particular nice feature is that the B&B provided ample 24h access to a richly stocked pantry (including wine, beer juices, biscuits, fruit, yoghurt,...). Really good experience!

We just came back from spending a perfect long weekend at the Pack House Inn in Edenton, NC. This inn, which celebrates its Grand Opening next weekend, is among the nicest places we've ever stayed. We had room 21, which is huge and features a beautiful canopied king bed, and a sitting area with a sofa and 2 chairs. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower, and is also huge. Giuliano was a perfect host, providing 24 hour access to a guest kitchen, fully stocked with complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks, all kinds of snacks, and even an espresso machine! He was full of information about the area, and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was also outstanding, with Eggs Benedict one morning and a delicious ham and egg souffle the next. He also offered Belgian waffles, pastries, and fresh fruit. Edenton is a lovely town with lots of history - a walker's delight. It's close to many other neat little towns, and just an hour or so away from the Outer Banks. But the highlight of the trip was the Inn and the Innkeeper. We recommend it highly!
