Badin Inn Golf Club

107 Spruce Street , Badin, NC 28009 USA (Show map)

About

Built in 1913, this historic Inn was once a male boarding house for the local aluminum smelting plant. During the town's hayday, it was also a stop over for entertainers like Mae West & W.C. Fields while here preforming at the local opera house. While staying at the Inn, guests enjoy relaxing in the rocking chairs on our wrap around veranda, sitting poolside, or getting in 18 holes on our Ross inspired golf course. A short distance from the Inn are an abundance of opportunities to occupy your time while enjoying your stay with us. Wineries, antiquing, hiking & kayaking are very popular in the area.

5 night stay

3.8 on August 23, 2016

We were recommended this hotel for a quiet and relaxing stay whilst attending a family wedding near the lake. The apartment was very clean and well equipped, think we were the only ones there some nights so also very quiet. We were expecting continental breakfast each week day and hot breakfast at the weekend (according to the website) there was no weekday breakfast and we had to pay at the weekend, this was the only negative during the whole stay.

Golfing, Hiking, Wedding, Oh My!

There is not enough space here to write about my experience at The Badin Inn and Golf Club during my wedding weekend. The Inn is full of history and charm. The golf course is beautiful and challenging. The little restaurant/bar feels like stepping into an episode of Cheers (and the food is good to boot). The new owners went above and beyond what we expected for our little private wedding held at the Inn. Morrow Mountain, Badin Lake, and Uhwarrie National Park (spelling?) are all just around the corner for hiking, boating, vineyard hopping, etc. This is a must-visit Inn (and golf course if you golf). Speaking of Cheers, the Inn reminds me of another classic TV show about a little Inn run by a family of amusing characters (sorry, I'm drawing a blank on the name), only this Inn is run by a couple and their friendly dog.

Quaint and laid back

My husband and I spent one night here after hiking at Morrow Mountain. I didn't realize there would be a separate living room area (couch, tv, desk) that was separate from the bedroom. Very comfortable bed. The inn is obviously not brand new, but it was clean and there was a lot of charm in the squeaky floors and vintage furniture. Very quiet on the weekend we were there. Ate breakfast in the on-site restaurant the next morning. Food was good and quite reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

I had just spent three days in Corporate meetings and decided to spend a few days in the area seeing family and friends. Because I was getting out of my meeting late, I called and left a message for the owner letting her know I would be arriving later than expected. She stated it would not be an issue and my room key and instructions would be left on a table or front counter. The only person on site was a gentleman in the Golf shop. The room was comfortable. I love the look of "old" homes, especially floors. However, there was a really large "creak" by the head of the bed, beside the door. I didn't want to disturb the other guests, so I tried to avoid the area as much as possible. The biggest disappointment in my stay was the next morning when I got ready to leave. I thought someone would have been downstairs to ask me about my stay. I also thought, since this was a bed and breakfast, I would have juice, muffins, fruit, etc. on the table downstairs for "breakfast." But, there was nothing. I went into the golf shop; the same gentleman from the night before was there. He managed to get me a bottle of Apple Juice from the kitchen. But, no apologies. Would I stay here again? Probably not. I prefer to stay in a Bed and Breakfast when I travel for pleasure. They are less crowded, the accommodations are usually quieter and the staff are more attentive. This was a disappointment. I loved the town. And, if you are looking for a place to eat, I highly recommend "Badin Treehouse Co." The food was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing. I had dinner on March 17 after I arrived. And, since I didn't have any breakfast at the "INN", I went here for breakfast. Amazing!!

Back to Badin

We were members of the Stanly County Country Club for many years and lived in Badin for some of those. We are very familiar with the facility and are so pleased that we can come and visit. We have many memories from the past to cherish there and hope to make some more. The owner and staff could not have been more helpful to us during our recent visit. We will be back as often as we can.
