Perfect Long Weekend in Asheville

5 on August 16, 2015

We had an outstanding first visit to Asheville made all the better by our stay at the wonderful Princess Anne Hotel. Charming ambiance, friendly staff, and fresh made breakfast made for a memorable trip. In a quiet location outside the main downtown but a short 10 minute walk away. The late afternoon/early evening wine and snacks were also a plus. We would highly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again the next time we're in Asheville.

Exceptional stay!

My husband and I had an exceptional experience at the Princess Anne Hotel. The location is excellent, just a few blocks from downtown Asheville, in a charming neighborhood with it's own character and unique restaurants and pubs. We were welcomed at check in with wine and hors d'oeuvres in the sitting room, the perfect way to settle in before our walk downtown to dinner. The room, and the bed, were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff was kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The historic building has been beautifully restored, and we particularly enjoyed sipping our morning coffee on the private porch overlooking the lovely grounds. I have already recommended this hotel to numerous clients and friends, and will continue to do so! It's a gem.

We have stayed at the Princess Anne Hotel a few times and once again, we are very happy with the rooms, breakfast, happy hour and level of service by the staff.

A Lovely Experience

This is a perfect hotel that I would recommend. We enjoyed a long weekend at the Princess Anne. The staff was friendly. The hotel is quiet. The room is lovely, clean and comfortable. We had a suite. The bedding is nice and the bed was perfect after a long day of walking. The Princess Anne is nestled in a neighborhood that is walkable to downtown - if you've got good shoes on and like a bit of walk. There is Starbucks and a great pub right down the street. This hotel would be perfect for a group of friends - as there are nice sitting areas, covered porches. The furnishings are comfortable. The breakfast is WONDERFUL. Don't be afraid to ask for something that isn't listed on the menu. Enjoy your stay. The staff is polite and friendly. We can't wait to return.

We had a long-needed respite at the Princess Anne Hotel this weekend. I just happened to find it online. The comfortable, quiet surroundings, with beautiful porches and lush gardens were just what we needed! I am returning to work refreshed this morning.

Charming place!

We loved our stay at the Princess Anne. This small hotel, bed and breakfast, is truly a gem and just a short, pleasant walk to downtown. Beautifully decorated rooms and dining area makes it a perfect experience. Breakfasts were excellent, service fast and the elegant dining room was beautiful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We will be back. Completely charmed.

Perfectly Charming and Elegant B&B

The most charming historical building with a true southern flare. The rooms were incredibly unique and far worth the cost relative to those stale commercial hotels. Situated in the middle of neighborhood, with close proximity to downtown. Their happy hours and breakfast are a marvelous addition to this truly memorable establishment.

Great getway for a quick trip

My boyfriend surprised me with a visit to Asheville and chose the PAH for our accommodations. I'm picky when it comes to that kind of stuff, so he was a little nervous. To his surprise, I was elated to pull up to a historic hotel that had vintage touches. Upon check in, we were excited to hear that we had received a complimentary upgrade and it didn't disappoint. We received one of the largest rooms on the 3rd floor with bedroom, living and kitchen areas. All areas were clean and I didn't feel like I had to wash my hands every time I touched something like I often do in chain hotels. At 5:30, we went to the lobby for light refreshments and wine, and had a delightful conversation with the receptionist regarding our dining choice for the evening. We chose a French restaurant - Bouchon - and it was incredible. Highly recommended. That evening we snuggled in the very cozy and comfortable bed, and listened to the knocks of the authentic radiator. We woke to morning light coming in the windows and made our way down to the dining room for breakfast. My boyfriend and I both had the salmon and egg croissant with fresh fruit, which was delicous. They had an assortment of self-serve beverages and a very well dressed table. My only recommendation would have been honey for the tea, but otherwise, all other things were well thought out. We checked out around 10am. The staff was friendly and welcoming and always accommodating. We will definitely return to the PAH. Hopefully, when we can stay longer and experience the city in more depth.
