This was our fist experience with a bed and breakfast and it was perfect! My only issue was the breakfast. There is no variety, one dish take it or leave it. It is fresh and beautifully presented but not my choice. I would definitely stay again and just skip the breakfast!
We arrived on a dreary, rainy day, and were happy to find that they provide umbrellas. Vick is SO nice. He really made us feel at home, and it was like staying at a family members house rather than a Bed and Breakfast. Every night he prepares dessert and leaves it out. Breakfast was delicious! On our last day we had to leave early and miss the breakfast, so he prepared us some food to bring on our drive out. Vick gave us great advice for where to eat and what to do while we were in Napa. I loved how every night there was a log left in our fireplace so we could light a fire. There were board games for us to use, and soda and water that we could take at no cost. It was really a very pleasant stay. Very romantic. I would highly recommend it to everyone!
What a great room, great food, and snacks, and the wine! Plus your staff was very friendly and super helpful! Nothing but great things to say about your place~ Will highly recommend you to all our friends and family~ Thanks for a great Anniversary!
Napa Inn is truly a gem. We stayed for my 25th birthday and I couldn't have dreamed of a cuter place to stay. It was clean and the food was excellent. The staff were both friendly and knowledgable about both wine and the surrounding area! The Inn is in walking distance of downtown so we were able to have amazing good and wine and walk it of after. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to stay at Napa Inn again!! -Michelle & Scott
We would definitely come back to Bel Abri. The room was spacious. Although there were several other guests over Valentine's Day Weekend, we heard no sounds or noises from our hotel neighbors. The bedding was soft and clean! The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was very basic, nothing to write home about, but it was satisfactory.
We stayed at the inn for a full week in Feb 2014. The inn was perfect. A gorgeous room with lovely linens and a comfortable bed was welcome after a long trip from New England. We felt very much welcomed by the staff . Breakfast was delicious and always hot and filling. We lived the daily wine tastings and the special chocolate treats each night. Nothing could have been better! The Napa experience was wonderful all around. Recommend Old World Inn wholeheartedly!!
The room we got was on a great sale rate and made an otherwise extravagant room pretty affordable. The room was very nice and spacious enough. It had the kinds of problems that would drive you nuts if you lived there, but not as a hotel room -- power outlets in inconvenient places, bathroom fixtures that look great, but make for water drips everywhere because the fixtures are located where they need dripping hands to operate them. We've been there twice and this is the first time they had someone from a local winery to pour for wine and cheese hour. This sounds like a great idea until I realized he was going to give the same small pour and stilted small talk you get while wine tasting. On top of that, he occupied the middle of the wine and cheese room, which isn't big enough for someone to work out of. It's just right with nobody serving. In addition, the internet connection was horrible. It would drop in and out constantly and the throughput was so poor that my tablet would often time out. This is our second time there. I think we might be back, but we probably will look elsewhere, first. The place is really good looking; it's too bad there are so many little detail that get dropped. Breakfast was simple, but high quality. We have enjoyed it every time.
Beautiful victorian house which will make you relaxed upon entry. Amazing gourmet breakfasts make you excited to wake up and start your day. Great extra perks provided like coffee and tea all day, delicious desserts in the evening, movies and games provided, outside fire pit, great porch for reading or relaxing, and helpful staff. Great value for the price although I feel some b&bs are a bit overpriced, especially on holiday weekends. Location was great, close to many restaurants in downtown Napa. The noise would be my only complaint; Traffic outside along the main road could be heard starting at 7 am, not as relaxing and serene as a B&B on a side road or in the mountains… and the noise in the kitchen from breakfast being prepared, (dishes and pans) was loud, starting at 7:30 am until after 9:30, so may wake you up if you planned on sleeping in. Bathrooms were small, although not a problem if you take turns using it. Otherwise the breakfast was amazing, beautifully set up dining room, and an overall relaxing and comfortable place to stay.
I actually got a last minute reservation here for one night on valentines day. It was a surprise for my wife and she loved it. The inn itself is literally a 5 min walk from Lincoln ave which is the main street in Calistoga and so you can walk to all the bars, restaurants and shops. Score for location. The service is fantastic. Nick, the innkeeper called me back the previous day, inquired when I'd arrive and if we had food restrictions. When we checked in, the lounge had free bottles of wine, a decanter or sherry and muffins. :) The breakfast next morning was also fantastic... Though a tad sweet. My wife was thankful there was fresh bacon to keep the salt content up. The room was nice and had a vintage feel to it. Though I have 2 complaints. Even with the window shut, we could clearly hear every car stop at the stop sign and accelerate away on foothill blvd. Woke up early thanks to that. The bathroom door just wouldn't shut and even if you're a couple sometimes you want it to shut! Otherwise the property itself is fantastic. Worth a visit.
The Inn is a lot like home with a friendly and welcoming staff. The food from Chef Ryan is amazing. The location is just perfect for seeing the heart of the valley. Grounds are beautiful. We will be back.
Friendly greeting with detail of amenities available to us during our stay, small, but quite nice lobby for wine and cheese at evening, our room was very well appointed and clean, comfy bed, walls a little thin, noise wise, breakfast delivered to room in the morning, good location with very fair pricing, will visit again!
Our housemates were very sweet and easy to talk to! The rooms are all equipped with a balcony and a fireplace! My love and I had a wonderful time soaking in the ambiance. Breakfast was filling and the service was great! We would definitely stay again.
We had another excellent stay at Gaige House. This time we upgraded to a zen creek view room which was awesome. Its large, comfortable and romantic. The staff at Gaige house is very friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfasts are truly delicious. The happy hour cheese and wine offerings were fun and very good, and the freshly baked cookies kept us stopping back by the front house several times a day. We loved that it was within walking distance of a couple of good restaurants and wine tasting rooms. I have, and will continue to refer friends and family to this wonderful B&B!
This was the first time that my husband and I did the B&B thing and it was a wonderful experience. Jacob was one of those people that you meet but feel like you've known for longer. Very personable, knowledgeable about the area and also makes a fabulous breakfast (homemade strawberry cheese danish and apple crisp? Yes please...). Stayed in the Queen Suite, which directly overlooks the front gardens. The only "con" would be the highway noise if you're bothered by that sort of thing. Just have a bit more wine and you won't even notice it ;) Wish that we could have stayed longer!
I simply cannot say enough good things about this property! I have worked in the hotel industry for a number of years, and as a result have stayed at a number of extremely high end and well known hotels. This rivals them all. From the smallest room to the biggest cottage, the staff at this hotel are there to make sure that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Waking up to the views over neighboring wineries is a great way to start the day, as is Chef Ryan's amazing breakfast. Located perfectly just north of St. Helena, there are literally dozens of wineries nearby. Then you can return to the hotel for the wine reception with more of Chef Ryan's creations. My only regret is that we didn't have one extra day (or at least a rain free one) to enjoy the heated pool and hot tub. I guess we will just have to stay here again! - Amber W.
Had a wonderful weekend stay at the Bel Abri. We were so well taken care of. We were delayed getting into Napa and the staff offered to have our wine and cheese waiting in our room! Breakfasts were delicious and served in the room, a really nice touch, Just a bit far from downtown for a winter's stay. Thanks for the great care and attention to detail!
Great location, quiet, very homey. Friendly management and they make a good breakfast. They have a hot tub but it was not heated during our stay. I would highly recommend with two exceptions - 1) no tv in the bedrooms and the communal area tv did not work; 2) 8 winery passes were part of our package, I was expecting real passes such as we received at the two previous B&Bs we stayed at, but Oleander House provided only 2 for 1 coupons, and with local wineries charging $10-$25 to taste, this was a disappointment, and value lost of over $100.
My wife and I along with 2 other couples decided to take a quick getaway to the Napa Valley. We were wanting to stay in a B&B in the area, but wanted it to be nice and reasonably priced. The Arbor Guest House was the second rated B&B on TripAdvisor and the most cost efficient. This place is wonderful! The rooms, althougt a little small, are very nice, quaint and comfortable. The vineyard recommendations made by the Inn Keepers (Candy and Dan) were wonderful! If ever we decided to go back to Napa again I would absolutely stay at the Arbor Guest House. They pamper you like every other B&B, but the value is so much better than any other B&B in the area!
The wine country inn was a really cute and the area around was beautiful. The staff at the inn were really nice and helpful. They have a shuttle service for rides to restaurants and vineyards (I think) around the area, which makes going out extremely convenient (you can drink wine in wine country without worrying about driving). The room itself was really cosy and romantic with a fire place (which we used a lot since we were there in december). The room had a lot of character and we really enjoyed the room. The (free) breakfast every morning and the (free) wine, cheese and snacks every evening was a nice plus. There might be other B&B in the area which are cheaper than Wine Country Inn, but if price is not a major issue, wine country inn is an excellent place to get away to.
Everything was super. Our only problem was getting information about wine tastings. Unless you take a tour, the staff had no knowledge as to how to go about not drinking and driving. Do not take the taxi's as they don't use the meters and charge whatever they want.
We stayed two nights last July and are still talking about how much we enjoyed our stay. Celeste made our visit wonderful, and the accommodations were even greater than our hopes. The location is ideally proximate to downtown Napa for walking and a relaxed time table and yet, being within a quiet, green, and historic feeling neighborhood, the house itself is removed from any sense of bustle or congestion. We very highly recommend McClelland Priest B and B.
Oh God. We are extremely disappointed with this BB. My Fiance took me to our second trip to Sonoma, Napa, St. Helena. I was in charged of a romantic BB selection. He wanted a special place. I did spend a few hours reading reviews, searching maps and based on the reviews, I choose the Sandy Oaks. I even spoke with the owner. Really? She never showed up to to great us as she told me. Most of the comments mentioned the owners hospitality, we never saw them in premises. The comments talks about how special this place is, maybe was 70 years ago. The rooms are OLD, but OLD fashioned, the carpet needs URGENT replacement. Everything is 'military' scheduled. If you are not at the breakfast table at 9:00am, you will miss it. I think we missed understood the menu, but my fiance was expecting eggs benedict, his favorite breakfast. Instead we got sausage and french toast. (I am vegetarian, didn't have a choice!!!) The worse, the pictures in their website are misleading. Not from their premises. We are frequent travelers, a semi retired couple in our early 40's, not a place for us. This place is worth $89.00, we paid almost $250.00! - unbelievable! Again, if you are a yuppy or an established professional, this is not a place for you. Keila
