    A Hidden Treasure

    September 03, 2012

When in the mountains of Montana you usually find the best greatest rewards off the paved highways. Bear Spirit Lodge is the perfect example. Proprietor Ann Harwood has filled her her B&B with so much love and grace and the spirit of Montana. Genuine welcoming friendliness along with comfort, cleanliness and oh, what a chef she is!! Breakfast was filled with variety, abundance and was absolutely delicious. Observing a star filled sky in the evening chill from the warmth of her jacuzzi was perfect after a day's drive. And my choice to sleep in the tee-pee was a thrilling conclusion to the day. Ann's gift shop was filled with so many special items at really great prices. I'm not a shopper and even I could not resist. We received much more than our money's worth. I am certain to return on my next Montana adventure.

Home away from Home is the Spirit Bear Lodge B&B

    August 29, 2012

We have stayed at really great Bed and Breakfasts, but never one that was great and like being at home at the same time. We extended our stay by a couple more days due to the great surrounding countryside and the wonderful hospitality of Ann and Great Bear. Our hosts saw to every need as they arose and provided a breakfast each day with plentiful fresh fruit and your choice of pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage in an any or all configuration . The coffee on the deck while enjoying the Montana outdoors was serene and soothing to the mind and body. The hot tub was refreshing as well as relaxing. We will be returning next year to enjoy more of the Montanna outdoors and the pampering provided by Ann and Great Bear.

    Wonderful B & B Experience

    July 19, 2012

This was my first time staying at a B & B and it was a Great experience. The room was perfect with a huge bathroom all to ourselves! The food was outstanding and way to much to eat so you sure wouldn't go hungry. The hospitality was unbelievable. If you need peace and quiet then this is the place to go. My time with Ann & Great Bear couldn't have been any better. I will cherish and never forget my time with them! I plan to return again next year. I left Ann & Great Bear's B & B feeling refreshed and relaxed but also felt that 2 days staying there wasn't enough for me. L Schmidt-Nine Mile Falls, WA

    A Romantic Mountain Retreat

    May 15, 2012

We recently stayed at Bear Spirit Lodge and had a great time. Ann is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. She even surprised us with beautiful plates of fruit, lemon bunt cake, and cheese when we came back from a walk in the mountains. The lodge is in a truly magical setting in the Mission Mountains and is very clean and comfortable. We were able to to take a relaxing soak in the hot tub and enjoy the crisp, clean mountain air. We had a delicious breakfast the next morning with local sausage, eggs, blueberry pancakes with homemade huckleberry syrup and fruit. The best part was the conversation we had with Ann and a fellow visitor from Germany about the region. It was everything I had hoped for and more in a visit to a bed and breakfast. The next day, we were able to explore Ninepipes and the National Bison Range which are both a short drive from the Lodge. We have very fond memories at the lodge and plan to make it a regular destination point and can't wait to return.

    Bear Full spirit

    August 20, 2011

This is a first rate B & B in the middle of a forest. Richly decorated, especially around the theme of animals. The owners have brought back many decorative items from their own travels. The atmosphere is very welcoming. We had a stupendous breakfast in the morning.

Ann is such a wonderful host. Bear Spirit is beautiful. The food is fantastic. You won't ever have a bed and breakfast experience quite like this one. Come for comfort, relaxation, rejuvenation and wonderful conversation. Make Bear Spirit a destination on any trip to western Montana.

Bear Spirit Lodge is a true taste of Montana!

    July 17, 2011

Bear Spirit Lodge is an adorable B&B tucked back in the woods a few miles outside of St. Ignatius. Such a peaceful and inviting setting! Ann and Great Bear are kind and gracious hosts, and if I ever get the opportunity to visit MT in the future, there is no doubt I will make a reservation at Bear Spirit again!
