    Built in the 1800's,meticulously renovated and opened June 2009, and on the National Historic Register, the Como Inn on Main is perched above an old storefront overlooking Main Street and Mississippi Fred McDowell's blues marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail. With two outstanding restaurants just steps away, did we mention Como Steakhouse?, the inn features 6 guestrooms with private baths, a large gathering hall, library and kitchen. The veranda off the kitchen is a wonderful place to have breakfast or just sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of Como. The Inn on Oak Avenue, sits on 8 gorgeous acres, at the edge of town, yet is within walking distance to our charming downtown. The main house offers two upstairs suites each with 2 bedrooms and a shared bath. This is a great choice for the value conscious traveler. There is a bedroom and hall bath on the first floor as well. The guesthouse offers complete privacy with two bedrooms with private baths, kitchen and living area. Enjoy watching the large screen television while swimming or just relaxing on the covered back patio. The Inn on Oak Avenue is the perfect place to gather for a reunion, wedding reception or retreat. Como Inn on Main is located at 215 Main Street. Our sign is hanging on the front of the building. We are next door to the Windy City Grille.

    We stayed here three nights this spring. Everything exceeded my expectations at Oak Avenue in the Guest House. The Accomodations were top of the line. Frances and James provide not only delicious breakfast choices, but many more little extras that make a guest feel welcome. My husband and I enjoyed the peaceful setting, the spa, and the "Oh so heavenly" nights sleep after a busy day. I wouldn't change a thing.
