About

A St. Louis icon since 1955, The Cheshire has completed a multi-million dollar restoration to once again take its place on the world stage. All your memorable experiences await for you at The Cheshire, all at an affordable price and offering tremendous value. For the first time in St. Louis, this type of hotel experience will be available for everyone and anyone who wants it.The hotel seamlessly blends stylish sophistication with modern luxury in its guestrooms and suites while maintaining its timeless traditions of glamour. Luxurious amenities abound, such as the open wood-burning fireplace in the living room, and the fireplace in the famous Fox and Hounds Tavern. Our motif is that of a British County House, thus the hotel is adorned with special and rare art work. Royalty and descret style define our guestroom collection which includes six uniquely themed and designed novelty suites. Each guestroom delivers a unique setting with features such as hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and marble entryways. Complimentary offerings include an English continental breakfast, wireless Internet, Archive bath products, access to the Wellness Center, and the climate-controlled outdoor pool. To pay homage to our British heritage, each room is individually dedicated to an author of our past and present. Our legacy and service is equally as important as our perfect location. The Cheshire is considered among locals as the best hotel location in St. Louis to experience the cultural institutions, attractions, and area business districts. On the corner of Forest Park, famous for the Saint Louis Zoo, Muny, History Museum, Jewel Box, and Art Museum, the hotel is the closest hotel to the Saint Louis Zoo. Perfect for both business and leisure travelers, we are less than 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis, and it is just 20 minutes from St. Louis Lambert Airport. The hotel is only minutes from Clayton, The Loop and the Central West End.

Love it!

I'm from the St. Louis area and all's I can say is what a great hotel! It is such a cool looking building on the outside and especially on the inside. It's got an old world feel to it but has all of the updates/amenities which modernize it too. The themed rooms are really different from anything I've ever stayed in and I really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly too. I loved everything about this hotel!

Great find in st Louis

This hotel is a breathe of fresh air. We travel frequently and finding this hotel was like winning the lottery for us. We get tired of the same old boring branded hotels and thought we would give this one a shot. So glad we did. The rooms are great and unique. The staff is very helpful for us out of towners. We will be back

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cheshire. Staff was very attentive to our needs. The Fox & Hounds Tavern is a great place to have a bite to eat and is surely a unique place in St. Louis. Will be my hotel of choice next time I am in St. Louis!

Outstanding stay!!!

I recently made a trip to St. Louis for work and was absolutely blown away. The entire hotel has just been re-done and looks like nothing I had never seen before. Wood-burning fire places, extremely comfortable beds and my new favorite bar, the Fox & Hounds. The staff made me feel right at home and I will definitely be back!

Charming Boutique Hotel

This hotel far exceeded my expectations for a weekend getaway in St. Louis. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable of what was going on in the area. This hotel just reopened after a renovation and the place was exquisite! The rooms were tastefully decorated and the hotel featured a British Literary theme! There was live music in the tavern and the living room of the hotel boasted a wood burning fireplace. There was so much to see and explore that I can't wait to go back again for another getaway!

Simply outstanding

I recently stayed at this newly renovated hotel for my anniversary and all I can say is, WOW! It was unlike any hotel I've ever stayed at before. The entire hotel just finished being remodeled so everything is brand new. However, I love how they kept the traditional British theme. The service could not have been more friendly and accomodating and I cannot wait to stay, again. Especially love the Fox & Hounds bar, inside. Excellent place for a cozy, intimate cocktail.

Simply Amazing!!

Absolutely beautiful and unique for St. Louis. The Fox and Hounds Tavern is terrific and the location of the hotel is perfect. They have music every Friday and Saturday night!

I wish I stayed longer!

I only stayed one night, but loved it! My Bedroom was right next to the pool. Which is great for a social person like myself. I slept very well through the night, i couldnt hear any outside noise. the Inn was serving a wonderful looking breakfast in the morning, but i was in a rush so i couldn't try it. But the Coffee in my room was wonderful. I will be back soon!!

Wow!

This hotel must have just completed a renovation or something as there was some construction people roaming around still. But the rooms that were ready were amazing and really cool. Each room is themed after an author and has one of their books in the room so they give you a bookmark for it when you arrive. We got the Orwell room -very fun and boutiquey. I went with my wife and we grabbed a drink at their restaurant, which was a very interesting tavern-like place with a fireplace and couches. We walked to Forest Park the next day for a concert. It was nice to be so close.
