Park Avenue Mansions was an amazing place for our Honeymoon. The location was lovely and was fairly centralized to other attractions. The food was amazing, I have never had such good breakfasts in my life. We will definitely be returning for a future anniversary.

We had a wonderful time with Kathy and Mike at the Park Avenue Mansion B&B. They immediately made us feel like we were walking into our own home. Their hospitality was second to none; Mike had the most interesting stories about the B&B and area; he had great recommendations for near by food and fun; and the business owners we talked to in the area about the Park Avenue treated us like their guests as well...it was like "we're staying with Mike and Kathy" was the secret pass word!! ...and Kathy serves the most delicious breakfasts you can imagine. You will enjoy your stay at this beautiful home and with this wonderful couple!

My husband and I have stayed at this B&B on multiple occasions. We are typically in St. Louis to attend baseball games, relax and enjoy some of the sights of the city. This is the perfect location for us. Mike and Kathy could not be more warm and welcoming. We always feel at home from the moment we arrive. Their home is beautiful and impeccably maintained, but never feels stuffy or pretentious. The breakfasts were delicious! Oh...and not to forget their wonderful dogs! The neighborhood, Lafayette Square, is full of history and character. There are several restaurants within walking distance and our car is easily accessible if we choose to drive elsewhere. If you are looking for wild nightlife or crowds, this is not the place for you. Additionally, this is not the place for children or families. This is a quiet, romantic and lovely home and each time we leave, we cannot wait to visit Park Avenue Mansion again.

The hospitality we received from Kathy and Mike was beyond comparison. Our comfort and enjoyment was their number one concern. The food was fabulous and I loved having a Keurig machine available on each floor for that early morning coffee while relaxing before breakfast in the spectacular garden. Stepping into the garden was like entering a nature preserve … fountains, birds, and lovely soft music streaming through the air. Kathy and Mike were available to accommodate us and answer any questions throughout our stay. The location of this B&B is in an idyllic neighborhood full of mansions restored from the 1800's. It's across the street from Lafayette Park, whose park bridge extends the experience of nature as it feels like stepping into a Monet painting. Neighborhood restaurants and Bailey's Chocolate Bar are all within walking distance. We stayed in the Lafayette room which was beautiful, quiet and clean. Wifi worked great in the room. One of the windows in the room has a view of the top of the arch. What I like best about Park Avenue Mansion was the warmth of our hosts, Kathy and Mike. The beauty of the B&B and the fabulous food were icing on the cake. What I liked least was not knowing how soon I will be back to this retreat to once again enjoy this slice of heaven. A lovely spot, a wonderful old mansion, generous and kind hosts, good food, and located within walking distance of quality restaurants and a lovely park. We liked it so much we never left the local area to see St. Louis. Our room with a balcony overlooking the garden was so lovely, it felt like being in Paris. A bottle of wine while the sun set, and latte with local pastries in the morning before the heat of the day. Mike and Kathy were friendly and courteous hosts without being intrusive in any way, and served a delicious breakfast for us in the gardens along with the 6 other guests with a grace and ease that we all us guests got to know each other in the nicest way. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area - so much nicer than any hotel could possibly be, close to town, a lovely spot, and we left feeling very refreshed. Thank you Mike and Kathy!

We had a wonderful two night stay in the Lafayette room on the third floor of the B&B. The room was spacious and comfortable. The home and grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed drinking a glass of wine (bring your own) while sitting on the back patio in the lovely back yard one evening. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and the park across the street. The hosts, Mike & Kathy were great! They were very knowledgeable about local restaurants and places to see while in St. Louis. We plan to stay with them again the next time we visit St. Louis.

We were looking for something out of the ordinary for our weekend stay in St. Louis and found a gem in the Park Avenue Mansion Bed & Breakfast! Mike and Kathy went out of their way to give us what we needed - directions, suggestions for dinner, history of the area around Lafayette Park, after dinner liquors, to-die for breakfasts and privacy too! The house is beautiful with stunning woodwork and marble throughout. The garden area features colorful and unique flowers and trees, a koi pond, a gazebo and the sounds of a relaxing babbling brook no matter where we sat. Our large 3rd floor room stayed nice and cool the entire weekend even though it was very hot and humid outside. The area has a lot to offer as well - unique shops, restaurants and pubs featuring locally grown/brewed/infused items. Lafayette Park is right across the street and is perfect for a morning walk. We highly recommend Park Avenue Mansion Bed and Breakfast We'll be back!

We did the murder mystery weekend and had the best time! The owners made us feel right at home. After our weekend, I felt like we were leaving a visit with old friends. The inn, food and area was perfect. Cannot wait to return.
Bathed in soft greens, gentle yellows and dusky red, this room once belonged to the original Lady of the Mansion. Your own refrigerator to keep your edible treasures and beverages cold, and a writing desk to write your friends about your fabulous stay....what could be better?!

We love people, entertaining, and pampering our guests! Mike gives wonderful "histories" and stories of the house and Lafayette Square, if you ask him. We enjoy living in a fabulous neighborhood with great restaurants starting within 50 feet, a Victorian walking park across the street, and a short walk to the city's farmer's market. We are very grateful people who want to share our city with you!

This is always a hit!! Use it as a wonderful dessert. Simply elegant and delicious! The champagne glass gives it such style and class! 6 pears, almost ripened 3/4 cup fresh cranberries 1/2 stick butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white wine canned whipped cream about 1/4 c for each serving Peel and cut pears into small pieces. Chop cranberries into small bits. Melt butter in a saute pan. Add pears, cranberies, brown sugar and wine. Cook on low heat for about 10 minuntes **Until pears are tender not mushy. Spoon whipped cream in a crystal champagne glass. Add warm pear mixture. The mixture will start to bubble over the cream. Serve warm. Make 6 servings.
