Perfect place to stay with our family!

4.8 on February 20, 2012

We stayed there about 5 years ago and was looking for it to recommend to a friend who is going there this spring with her daughter. I had to write a review, Marie was so wonderful when we stayed there with our two small children (2 & 5 year olds) She made them comfortable and having the park across the street helped get their energy out so we could enjoy the parlor and the piano. If we get back to St. Louis we will stay again and I will send anyone who is going to visit to Lehmann House. I still remember the ceramic lamb plates she served the kids breakfast on. (My picky eaters ate every bite!)

It was great to return to your B&B after so many years. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were so good and we enjoyed talking to you while we had our 2nd and 3rd cups of coffee. Your recommendation for Zia's was also great! Thanks again for your warm hospitality. Mike and Rose M, Omaha, NE

Wish we could transport your lovely warm and hospitable home with us. I don’t know how you do it all. Our stay at your B&B was better than our cruise!

Signature Dish

Cherry Ladder Coffee Cake
Cherry Ladder Coffee Cake is a tender sour cream/butter/flour pastry bursting with juicy cherries (can be made with peaches or apples as well). The pastry is rolled in a 9"x15" rectangle, the sides sliced in 1" "rungs" on each side with the cherries placed down the middle. The "rungs" are folded over the cherries, alternating right and left, to form a ladder across the top. The baked pastry is then drizzled with a almond flavored glaze, sprinkled with chopped walnuts and served warm. Even when serving two, these are always completely devoured at the breakfast table.
