tMy wife found Bell Cottage last year during a trip to visit our daughter who attended UMKC. I took her advice and booked my last trip to KC where I grew up. I will be staying there again. Great location in the center of the KC metro area. Two minutes’ drive through the quiet neighborhood to SW Traffic Way and easy access to both I-35 and I-70. This place is this business travelers dream! All the comfort, amenities and quiet it takes for me to be productive. All the amenities to relax when its time. Easy 15 or 20 minute walk to both the Country Club Plaza and Westport, a park at the end of the street. Dean and James are the most gracious hosts. The house is immaculate. Breakfast is cooked to order. Can’t imagine of a better place to spend the week in KC. Have recommended The Bell Cottage to my son and a friend. Stan Parsons, Tallahassee, Florida

My girlfriend and I came to KC during Thanksgiving, looking to get away. We were accepted into a beautiful home by Jim, he was so welcoming. The house is amazing!!! We had the entire upstairs to ourselves and it was super cozy. Jim and Dean were cooking Thanksgiving dinner and offered it to us, but we had a reservation at a local eatery. Honestly, I wish we would have taken them up on it, the food looked delicious. The next morning, we had coffee and breakfast with Jim, made small talk and went our separate ways. A very nice experience, highly recommended. Thanks again, Jim and Dean

During our two night stay at the Bell Cottage with Dean and James, we enjoyed complete privacy, great service and hospitality, along with wonderful refreshments and conversation. This is a great quiet getaway, close to the Country Club Plaza, in a peaceful neighborhood, near a park. We hope to go return soon. Susan and Dennis

My wife and I just completed a restful stay at the Bell Cottage. Meeting us with wine and cheese upon our arrival, our hosts, Dean and Jim, were most attentive to our needs making us immediately feel at home. They are a wealth of information about things to see and do in the greater Kansas City area. The suite is quiet, peaceful, private and cozy, and we enjoyed restful sleep each night. A wonderful breakfast kicked off our days of sightseeing and exploration. Dining with Jim and Dean in the evening was a special treat enjoying Jim’s fine cooking and their delightful company. We are looking for an opportunity to return.

Stayed one night at The Bell Cottage just off the plaza in KC. Perfect location, beautiful home and wonderful hosts. Jim and Dean were very attentive and very personable, enjoyed talking with them. Wine and cheese served after we arrived, but we didn't have much time to enjoy since we had to rush out for a wedding, very nice treat! Breakfast was simple with scrambled eggs, yogurt and fruit, English muffins, etc. Will definitely stay there again for another overnight in our home city.

The hosts of The Bell Cottage were so attentive to our needs during our stay, they thought of everything--and I felt very much at home. The guest rooms were immaculate and well-appointed, and we had plenty of privacy. The cottage is located just minutes from the Plaza and other attractions. It makes for a great walk through a lovely neighborhood. I must mention: they made a wonderful breakfast for us with the best eggs I've had in a long time!

My friend and I were getting away for a girls long weekend and we started in Kansas City where we wanted to visit the Nelson Art Museum. We chose The Bell Cottage because of it's close proximity. We stayed only one night and it was wonderful. We felt very safe and secure there in this wonderful neighborhood. Jim and Dean were the most gracious of hosts, greeting us with wine and cheese upon our arrival and visiting with us as if we had known each other for years. They were very informative about places at the Plaza for eating and entertainment and we were close enough that we could walk there. The place was spotless and Jim cooked up a great breakfast. I would definitely stay there again if in the K.C. area.

We stayed two nights at Bell Cottage while on a tourist visit to Kansas City. It was mid-March, and even in that most unlovely time of year the cottage's block and the park that it dead-ends into were enchanting. The area is ultra-quiet, too, which makes staying there especially restful. Slightly off the beaten track but close to attractions like the Plaza and the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, Bell Cottage provides an excellent base for enjoying the city's many attractions. Jim and Dean, the hosts, are everything and more one might hope for: warmly welcoming, respectful of guests' privacy but also lively conversationalists when company is wanted, knowledgeable about the area and things to do in it. Jim's breakfasts are delicious and ready when guests want them and not at some pre-set time, and the hosts surpass expectations by laying out for guests pre-dinner appetizers and drinks. Guests have the upstairs entirely to themselves, a suite consisting of an attractive bedroom with an excellent double bed and plenty of closet space, a bathroom, and a sitting room that contains a television and comfortable chairs for watching it or for reading, as well as a desk. This suite, and the house as a whole, are very attractively arranged and decorated. Bell Cottage has our highest recommendation, and we will certainly plan to stay there again on our next visit to Kansas City.

My wife and I stayed at the Bell Cottage for a great weekend away from the rush of life. We found the cottage to be charming, warm and inviting. The hosts, James and Dean were absolutely wonderful and kind to us and the breakfast and coffee in the mornings made our days even more enjoyable. It is within walking distance of Kansas City's famous plaza so we enjoyed the exercise and the entertainment that is so close by. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet and enjoyable night away!

My 10 year old son and I visited Kansas City for his spring break and wanted a more authentic experience than a hotel or motel. I was a little nervous, as this was our first stay in a bed and breakfast. Jim and Dennis were the ultimate hosts and made our vacation such a delightful experience! They made a roaring fire and hot tea for us each night after our days of sightseeing. On the day it snowed, Jim went out of his way to drive us to Union Station, because I wasn't experienced in driving in snow/ice. Jim also made dinner for us that night, again so that I wouldn't have to drive in the bad weather. Their house is very conveniently located-- a close driving distance to tourist attractions. The bedrooms and bathroom were exceptionally clean. Their hospitality was beyond our expectations. Stay here- you won't regret it!
