My husband and I spent two nights in the Shirley Gamble Room. We stayed over the Veterans Day holiday. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice too. Melanie and Perry were very friendly and welcoming. Melanie's breakfasts were filling and delicious! Melanie was wonderful about accommodating my dietary restrictions. The inn is located near a lot of attractions and restaurants. We had such a nice and relaxing time. We highly recommend this inn to others. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My wife and I were traveling from Denver to Florida and stayed at the Silver Heart Inn. We arrived on Thanksgiving around 6:00pm. We asked Melenie if she could recommend a place to eat. Without a thought, she offered to make us a turkey dinner. We didn't want her to go out of her way, but she insisted. What a meal, all the fixings, turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberries, and a slice of pecan pie. We though traveling on Thanksgiving would mean missing the holiday with friends and family, we were wrong. Melanie treated us just like family and made us feel very welcome. I can't say enough about our experience at the Silver Heart Inn. The next morning the breakfast was better than the dinner the night before. Owning the Inn was a life long dream of hers and it shows. If you want a place to stay that is friendly and special, this is it.

The owners were exceptional and made the experience comfortable as well as memorable. I met a friend at the Inn for the weekend. Melanie suggested the Shirley & Roy Gamble Rooms sharing a bathroom which worked out perfectly for us. Rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. Coffee, tea & cold beverages available outside our rooms. We were served a delicious breakfast on the patio both mornings. We spent a lot of time at the Inn in the backyard visiting and playing ball with our little dogs. It's a nice walk to the square in Independence. Melanie & Perry suggested dinner at Café Verona on the square, the atmosphere & food was outstanding. Silver Heart Inn is a great place to stay. Wishing you continued success! Kelly & Dan
Your kind words are much appreciated! We take much pride in our efforts to meet the unique needs of each guest. The suite that you enjoyed has been very popular for groups traveling together, but requiring separate rooms. The added privacy has been commented on by other guests who have stayed. The grounds are enjoyable both during the day and especially evenings as the courtyard is lit with twinkle lights providing a charming atmosphere. Your trip was during some lovely weather and eating Al Fresco certainly made it very enjoyable. There is nothing like a nice mug of coffee in the outdoors. Please, come again, we would enjoy seeing you again!

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary here and it was such a fantastic way to celebrate! Service was amazing, beds were comfortable, and food was incredible!! Melanie the innkeeper when finding out I was on a diet and trying to stick with it even on vacation went out of her way to make sure to help me to stick to my goal. She cut my portions back every morning and even talked to me about the ingredients that went into each breakfast every morning! It really helped me to relax and not stress about my diet during my stay there!! What my husband and I also loved was how she and Perry also made so many suggestions of thing we could do and places we would enjoy while in town. We would definitely recommend the place! We will definitely be going back there again!!
Your stay was very special to us also. One of the greatest joys of inn keeping is the personal connection we have with our guests. Each guest needs are different and we try to carefully balance privacy with attention to details. Guests often remark on the excellent guest service they have received. There are many activities to choose from located near the Inn. You had a the benefit of an entire week, enjoyed many activities, and still there will be much to explore in Independence on your return visit. We are happy to hear you are looking forward to your next visit with us. It was good to hear the diet went well; I was glad to help.

Our recent one night stay in Independence was enhanced by the gracious hospitality found at The Silver Heart Inn. Melanie shared some of the history of the home which added to our interest. Our room was large, airy and efficiently cooled, which was important to us in 95 degree temps. Many extras: refrigerator, coffee maker, snacks etc. Large, luxurious bathroom. Hearty breakfast, no need for lunch! JW
Whether your stay is one night or multiple nights, your comfort is of the utmost importance. Our guests have told us that the rooms are very inviting, and exceptionally spacious. We choose luxury linens to pamper our guests and give the best nights rest possible. Each room has independence cooling so it will be "just right". I'm so glad that after a weary day of traveling in the heat you were able to settle into a cool room and soft bed.
