Inn on Crescent Lake

1261 Saint Louis Ave , Excelsior Springs, MO 64024 USA (Show map)

Welcome to the Inn on Crescent Lake, located in historic Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Only 30 miles from downtown Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City International Airport, the Inn is perfectly situated for a relaxing weekend getaway and provides an excellent lodging alternative to business travelers. The stately three-story 1915 Georgian Colonial mansion sits on 22 acres and is surrounded by two crescent-shaped ponds, historically known as Crescent Lake. The Inn was meticulously renovated in 1997. While the architectural integrity of the Inn was preserved, all of the rooms were completely modernized.

A Fall Getaway

We stayed during the week just to wind down and had the run of the inn. We had perfect weather to stroll the grounds and Craig was the perfect host.

Secluded getaway

we have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed. The inn feels secluded and the rooms are private and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.

Beautiful and Relaxing

My bride and I recently stayed at the Inn on Crescent Lake while celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. We stayed during the week for 2 days in the Tuscany Suite. We were the only couple there the first night. But I recommend the Tuscany Suite because it is an intimate room on outside the main mansion. We stayed busy in the KC area, but we did stroll the grounds and enjoyed some time. I would like to spend more time relaxing on the property on a second stay. Beverly and Craig were very wonderful and inviting. I would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone.

Inn on Crescent Lake: Ideal Romantic Getaway

4.8 on September 07, 2015

I had heard of the Inn on Crescent Lake for years. But we never had the time or money to try it out, until our 20th anniversary this September. Upon arrival we were ushered into the foyer by owner and hostess Beverly Bohnert, who gave us the grand tour before showing us to our room. The Bohnerts have shown excellent taste in their care of the Inn. The place is elegant without being gaudy or ostentatious. The ground floor is roomy with a lovely solarium where we had breakfast, a spacious parlor with complimentary refreshments and an elegant dining room. Just like everything else we saw, our room’s decor was perfectly chosen. There was the main bedroom (king bed with canopy), two deep window seat nooks, a small sitting room with minifridge, and an elegant bathroom with separate shower and two-person tub. The weather was lovely, so we took a romantic stroll along the promenade around the lake. The trail had benches along the way where you could rest, relax, kiss and cuddle. Signs let you know where you were along the trail. We took many pictures of the wildlife. Upon our return we enjoyed their pool. Like the rest of the Inn it was elegant but not ostentatious. The deep end is a full 8 feet deep, and the shallow end had a neat logo of the inn painted on the bottom. We had our choice of breakfast served on a tray in our room or in the Solarium. We chose the Solarium. The day we were there the menu was strawberry stuffed french toast with cantaloupe and bacon. We got our choice of juice and hot beverages. The french toast was excellent, served with a whole strawberry on top for garnish, the strawberry and cream cheese stuffing inside and a strawberry syrup to pour over it. My wife said several times during our stay that we need to come back and spend an entire week sometime “when we have the money.” I too could easily see staying a whole week, with or without weekend, just soaking in the atmosphere, and enjoying the companionship.
