Great River Inn

724 2nd Street SE , Little Falls, MN 56345 USA (Show map)

Great River Inn "To everything there is a season...a time for peace" Rest. Relax. Get away from the hustle. Be at peace. Little Falls is the perfect quiet city, and Great River Inn is the perfect get-away. Here, giant oaks shade the patio. Here, soothing light fills the rooms. Here, just a few blocks away, giant elms still drink from the Great River, the mighty Mississippi, where it pauses just a hundred and a half miles from its origins. Be welcome. Be pampered. Curl up with a book in the bright and airy three season porch. Tickle the ivories of our baby grand. Cuddle into the comfort of our freshly finished beds. Wake to a fresh brewed cup of joe or tea, your choice at the time you choose. Break your fast at your leisure with a delicious and well portioned home cooked morning meal. To everything there is a season.

"Great" says it all

5 on September 30, 2015

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Susan and Christian are very gracious hosts. We invited them to eat breakfast with us, and we all had a relaxing conversation. Breakfast itself was truly amazing. Susan is clearly an accomplished cook. Just one example of her skill is the best French toast I've ever had. She makes her own butter pecan syrup, and mixes just enough of it with mounds of cinnamon bread. All this is accompanied by pecans, delicately spiced peaches, and cinnamon-flavored whipped cream. Absolutely yummy. All the rooms in this restored Colonial Revival home are furnished and decorated very tastefully. That's certainly true in the bedroom suite where we stayed. The king bed was as cozy as could be, and we had our own private bath. The Great River Inn is nestled into a peaceful neighborhood in a classic, historic, not-too-small Midwestern town. Our stay was not just a night away, it was a memorable event.

Charming Bed and Breakfast

We had a very nice time staying here. The entire home is warm and welcoming. From the living room to the porch room-all were delightful reading, and or visiting rooms. Our bedroom and bathroom was spacious and the chairs in the room for reading or watching TV were very comfortable. The hosts were friendly and great to talk to. Breakfast was the highlight though. It was outstanding! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this B&B.

Great breakfast

I lead this review with the breakfast because it was so fabulous. Everything about the place was great, location, decorating, hospitality and value. We stayed in the two room suite. It was nice having the separate room for reading and TV. The bed was very comfortable. It is just a short walk to a nice city park on the river and a little longer walk (but doable) to downtown. Check the link on their webpage to Susan's blog which has her delicious recipes. Christian and Susan were great hosts.

My mother, sister, husband and I stayed on our way home from a long weekend trip up north. We were all so pleased with our friendly hosts and the clean and comfortable rooms. The entire house was refreshing! Breakfast in the morning was simply outstanding in every way. I can't wait to go back!

historic charm and yummy breakfast!

We stayed in the Pike room in July 2014. The house is so cute with its arched doorways and eclectic fun decor. The owners have their own space downstairs, so you wont see them much unless you'd like to. They are both very friendly and made us feel at home. Susan is a great cook and her breakfasts were to die for!
