On the bank of the Root River, in one of Minnesota's most ancient and picturesque valleys. Mrs. B's also sits right on the main street, which is Parkway Ave. Restored to include modern conveniences, while keeping a comfortable and eclectic Victorian decor. In the yard between the inn and the twisting river, the conversations of birds, the sound of flowing water, and a lovely garden offer a peaceful place to relax. Looking from Mrs. B's windows outside, is a scene that could have been painted by Thomas Cole or Grandma Moses. Our decks await your enjoyment and a full creative country breakfast is served each morning. Mrs. B's Gift Certificates are always available.

Under new ownership, Mrs. B's is the perfect B & B. Located on the main street in Lanesboro, you can walk everywhere. The inn is charming and the new owners are embracing their roles with great enthusiasm. The breakfasts are fantastic ~~ we will be back!

Mrs B's was a wonderful get-away. The proprietor's Trish and Matthew were excellent hosts and provide an outstanding breakfast along with fresh baked cookies every afternoon! The location is perfect, on main street and the river runs through the back yard gardens.

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful stay at Mrs. B's. The bed and breakfast is right in the middle of the downtown section where most of the shops are at and right along by the river and trail. Our room was small, but we were only in the room to shower and sleep. Had a fantastic breakfast both mornings. If we had any extra needs, they were met quickly and graciously. There is a shed to store your bikes. The trails are gorgeous. We had fun tubing down the Root River. We would definitely stay there again!!!

We just discovered Lanesboro when we were invited to bike the trail with friends. When making a room reservation, we found there were many B&B's from which to choose. We were happy with our choice of Mrs. B's. Located on the main street, it was near to restaurants (Pedal Pushers and Riverside on the Root were great), parking was limited in the back of the Inn but parking on the street was available and safe (and there was a place for bike storage) , the Commonweal Theatre was a 2 block walk (with an outstanding production of "Around the World in 80 Days"), and the trail access just outside the front door. There are other attractions to be found -- just read the brochures. The heavy spring rains made the river unsafe for canoeing and tubing - but it offers other options for another time. The owners, Trish and Matthew were welcoming. While the rooms were small they were decorated beautifully, were clean, the bed comfortable, and the Inn quiet. Our room had only a shower which is ok by us. Our group took advantage of the outside seating and garden area along the River and the afternoon cookies. Coffee and tea were available in the early morning and later afternoon. There is no TV but it did not matter as it is the aim of the owners to create a restful presence. And -- the breakfasts each day were outstanding. The blueberry pancakes were the best I have had and the French toast a close second.

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was quiet, relaxing and the breakfast was AMAZING! Trish and Matthew were great hosts and we can't wait to come back again. The town of Lanesboro couldn't get much cuter and the bike trails were really fun. We biked to Preston for lunch and then back to Lanesboro, we saw 5 deer during our ride :)

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. The property was very clean and the food very good. Would highly recommend this property. I did think $200 for one night was a little pricey.

The new owners, Trish and Matthew, took over Mrs. B's and opened up May 1st. So rule #1 if you are read previous reviews-- if it's negative and it's before May 2014-- dismiss it! We arrived for Rhubarb Festival weekend (which by the way is 100% Americana "fun") mid-afternoon on Friday to a warm greeting, friendly guidance, a quick tour, some fresh cookies and help getting settled in our room (Mrs. B's bedroom has a king size bed-- the only room with one) Location is right in town (the town has less than 1K people--it was never noisy...I didn't hear a noise all weekend. The owners are very much into holistic healing principles-- good eating, a fresh garden of herbs and veggies in the back, healthy lunch boxes if you want to order one...and decadent breakfasts. One morning was blueberry pancakes and the next fresh stuffed french toast. My tip...weather permitting sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds of the river. We brought our bikes...they have storage if you need to lock them up overnight. A bike rack is just down the street and we used that when not leaving on car. Park on the street...we never moved our car until we left Sunday :). The room was roomy..everything clean....fresh linens...anything you need just ask. No TVs to make it a perfect getaway from technology. There are not a lot of "rules"....just simple requests like to please use the extra towels they provide to wipe off any bike grease you may get while riding. We enjoyed dinner at the Riverside on the Root. Saturday night they have nice music on outside patio (ask for a blanket if it gets chilly..they have them). We really had a nice time. We'll be back at Mrs. B's again-- for sure.
