Our stay at the Filmore House was delightful. The Inkeeper was wonderful and we enjoyed learning the history of the B and B. It was so nice to meet the other gursts and learn about them. The breakfst was truely amazing with delicious food and a beautiful table.

Brian greeted us upon arrival and was VERY informative about the city's hisory as well as that of the house. Had great recommendations for things to do around town (We LOVED the store Essence-check it out!). The house and rooms were meticulously cared for and spotless which was quite impressive for a house nearly 100 years old! Breakfast was delicious and we felt pampered with the 3 courses! Something we never do for ourselves. Overall, we loved our stay at the Fillmore house and strongly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Lanesboro! Little Vivan was such a sweetie too! Check out the gardens, we were here in the fall but could tell the grounds are well taken care of and were still beautiful!

Okay, here's the deal, a bed and a breakfast...............And some B & B owners go out of their way to make you feel nice and at home.............Brian did just that from the greeting, to getting me hot water at 1030PM, after the play, because I was chilled and needed a cup of tea, to company at breakfast, envigorating conversation and a warm send off............Life is good, simple as that, and some people make it "gooder". We were just here one night, but had a great time. We especially enjoyed getting to know Brian, the Inkeeper. We were there on a weekday night so we had the advantage of his undivided attention. The service and food were truly outstanding (we really felt pampered). They put a lot of attention to detail in decorating the house and landscaping the grounds. This may be a 1912 building, but it also has all the modern conveniences (e.g. WiFi, new plumbing, showers, etc.)

After staying in the luxurious Genevieve Room, my husband and I recommend the Fillmore B&B most highly! We were treated with the utmost respect and kindness from the moment we arrived and were treated with champagne, strawberries and recommendations on where to go, what to do, and how to make our stay in Lanesboro as nice as can be. (In fact, upon making reservations, Brian went out of his way to make dinner and theater reservations for us and find out how much it would cost to rent bicycles.) We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to coming back to the Fillmore house. In the mean-time, I think I may start experimenting in my kitchen with how to make banana bread french toast drizzled with caramel sauce. And perhaps coddled eggs? Those were a hit too!! As for a comfy, pillow-top memory foam bed and jacuzzi tub... I may just have to wait a bit, but you can be sure, if you choose to stay at the Fillmore B&B, you will be pampered the whole time!

Brian and Vivian greeted us with bubbly and strawberries. We heard all about the history of the house, about this section of Lanesboro, and about the trail. Brian's knowledge and involvement in the Lanesboro community helped connect us with some amazing people and experiences for the weekend. And each morning we were spoiled with stunning multi-course breakfasts, leaving us wondering if we should venture out on our bikes, or just take a nap.

We stayed two nights at the Fillmore House in Genevieve's room. Brian greeted us with champagne and strawberries as well as a short briefing of available activities in the area. Our room was Genevieve's room and is a large, comfortable room and boasts a very large bathroom with whirlpool tub/shower combo. The bed was comfortable and the Brian went out of his way to make you feel welcome. Beautifully presented breakfasts each morning and fun conversation. All the little tips Brian pointed out to us about things to visit/see were right on the money. Great stay!

Brian and Vivian were gracious hosts. The room and breakfasts were excellent. Brian was very accomodating in scheduling and recommending activities. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to many future vistits.

Brian is frinedly, knowledgeable and whips up amazing 3 course breakfasts. Eggs in a basket with cranberry and ginger sauce on waffles, whipped pumpkin mousse yumminess, fruit, yogurt, sauteed veggies, quiche, banana bread french toast with carmel sause. And this was just parts of 2 breakfasts. All homemade! Brian got us tickets to the sold out opening night of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. He also directed us to great places in town and in neighboring towns including the paved bike/skating path. We were well taken care of. The bed was comfortable - sheets were as wonderful as advertised. Private bathrooms in each room. Lanesboro was a wonderful get-away. (Nice and quiet over Labor Day, but plenty of things to do). Gorgeous river bluff country. (Essence of Lansboro, Art in ceiling of the theater, massages at Prana Spa and lunch in Highland were also highlights). Loved it!

Brian was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what was happening in Lanesboro. We felt like family and were very comfortable, and the food was awesome. We would definitely stay there again!

I recently stayed at The Fillmore House. I visited Lanesboro mostly for relaxation. The Fillmore house was peaceful and quiet. Brian was so helpful with details for where to visit and how go get there. Breakfast both mornings was fantastic! I know my review is short, but I must run....bottum line, Brian and Fillmore House are the place to stay when visiting this town. Enjoy!

We arrived at the Fillmore frustrated after our original hotel lost our reservations, but our wonderful host Brian met us at the door with champagne and strawberries. He was the soul of cordiality and knew literally everything there was to know about Lanesboro, from the best restaurants to which direction is the prettiest on the biking paths. Our room was perfectly charming with a small jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Breakfast was to die for...bring your appetite and ask about the banana bread french toast! My husband and I aren't usually "B&B People" but we were more than pleasantly surprised by this lovely inn. We would definitely recommend it.

This was our first B&B experience and we were extremely pleasantly surprised! The hosts were very accomodating and kind but were not at all intrusive or overbearing. To top it off, the breakfast was absolutely incredible, too. We will be coming back.

We were delighted with the Fillmore House. Brian is the best host we have ever had at a B&B. He truly cares about his guests comfort. He showed interest in our lives and made everyone feel welcome. The host Brian was a wealth of information about the area and so personable. He greeted us with champagne and strawberries. So yummy. Breakfasts were delicious. Rich food. Different and interesting. The gardens of the house were just beautiful, as was the decor. Only thing I can really say I didn't like was there were no locks on the individual room doors. That made me a little uncomfortable. Hope they add locks in the future. Other than that, great stay, lovely home, great host. Very clean.

In celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary we decided to stay at a bed & breakfast for our first time. It was a wonderful and memorable experience. Brian was an ideal host. We had a 3 course breakfast each morning. It was served very attractively and healthy besides. Brian gave us a lot of insight as to what we might enjoy doing. Thank you for the hospitality.

We chose to return to the Fillmore House because of our splendid first visit last year. The 2nd visit proved to be every bit as good as the first. The house is located a couple blocks from downtown, so you stay in a very quiet neighborhood and easy walk to town center. Brian is an ever-gracious host who offers a wonderful breakfast with sumptious tastes and treats. Vivian, the house dog is so sweet and loves to be petted - a huge plus for any person who enjoys dogs (and has to leave their dog home when on vacation). Additionally, Brian offers great conversation and appropriate recommendations of interesting things to do in Lanesboro and vicinity. This trip we were introduced to the nearby Aroma Pie Shop in Whalen - a must stop on your way back home. We are looking forward to another stay at Fillmore House....it's the best!! Brian Luna (we didn't meet Bob) is a welcoming and excellent host and very knowledgable about things to do in Lanesboro and the surrounding area. Decor is Victorian, but not suffocating like some B&Bs. Very comfortable. Also, very important....the weather was very hot, but the house has central air and was very comfortable. Of course, Vivian is an added and welcome feature. We enjoyed our weekend.

Four from our family had two rooms at the Fillmore House B&B for two nights last week. We had planned this trip months ago and wanted to spend two days on the wonderful Root River Bike Trail. Little did we know then that we would hit the HOTTEST three days and nights on record in Lannesboro! Thank heavens the Fillmore House had a great airconditioning system, plus a kind and thoughtful host that greeted us after our 40 mile trip with fresh-squeezed lemonade! After cooling off and changing out of wet clothing, we spent the rest of that day and part of the next IN the Root River instead of BESIDE it, since luckily, our daughter had brought her inflatable kayaks along. The sun might have been just as hot, but the water cooled us down, even faster than the lemonade! We LOVED our stay at the Fillmore House. The Host, besides being an excellent cook and conversationalist, did everything he could to make our stay memorable. He even allowed us full access to the rest of the house, with a family Rummycub game every night on the lace tablecloth covering the antique dining room table! We know we will be back, probably yet this fall, on a cool day in October!

This is our first time to be in B&B. The experience is outstanding. Brian is very organized and he got our Champagne ready as soon as we arrived. We felt welcomed. We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the Fillmore House in Lanesboro. Tillie's Room was just right and the food was wonderful (loved your signature Banana Bread French Toast). This is a fabulous B & B. Brian is a great host and a terrific chef. The whole B&B contains wonderful antiques surrounded by lush gardens. The rooms are comfortable. I can't wait to return.

We loved our stay at the Fillmore House B&B! The rooms were very well appointed, and the breakfasts were incredible. We especially enjoyed the rhubarb pancakes and the banana bread french toast! Brian was willing to help us with every aspect of planning our trip and acted as a wonderful concierge, even booking tickets for the theater and making dinner reservations for us. Not only do you receive the local history about the house but the area as well.... A full list of local things to do each day......but, champagne and strawberries as a welcome and breakfasts worthy of a fine chef...... Bananna French Toast with Carmel Sauce anyone? Brian, Bob and Vivian were wonderful hosts for our lovely weekend! We had great conversations with then and plenty of time to relax. The food was fantastic and accommodated our dietary needs. We enjoyed the ideas they had around the area! Can’t wait to return!!

An unbelieavably charming experience that must be experienced by all. Not at all sure of what to expect and frankly a little nervous to stay at a B and B; we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming environment. Our first time staying at a B and B and it certainly won't be the last. Nor will it be our last visit to Fillmore House! Brian is certainly a most gracious host and incredibly accommodating. Lanesboro is a charming community and a great escape from the madness of everyday life in the Twin Cities. It was interesting leaving Lanesboro as it truly felt like we had spent the weekend at a relatives home because of the welcoming environment Bob, Brian, and Vivian have created!

The Fillmore House was an extraordinarily wonderful stay that created memories that will last a life time. I can't believe all the detail that Brian and Bob have put into the Fillmore House. The quality and care really shows and makes me want to keep coming back year after year. Brian defiantly has a gift for gracious hosting, amazing breakfasts and pampering his guests. I could not have planned a better get away. The Fillmore House had everything I could of asked for in a fun relaxing weekend. Who could not fall in love with the Fillmore House dog Vivian. The breakfast was hearty and different. Three courses that mixed savory and sweet fulfilled my appetite. It was great to hear how health conscious Brian was in his recipes. I can absolutely see myself there again.

We felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived at the Fillmore House. Brian and Bob set the stage for a romantic weekend for us, helped us plan reasonable bike (Summer) and skiing (Winter) excursions. Breakfast was tasty but not overwhelming. We can't wait to return!

We received a gift certificate for the Fillmore House from a family member and finally found a spot in our calendar to make it work. Brian, Bob and Vivian, the dog were great hosts. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The house is beautiful, very clean and held at the perfect temperature. The bed was quite comfortable too. Last but certainly not least and the highlight for us, though, was the breakfast. A broiled grapefruit and blueberry yogurt parfait was an excellent start and the banana bread french toast and coddled eggs were to die for! If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay with the Fillmore House.

I came to Lanesboro to enjoy the Winter Escapades for the weekend. Although I did get to participate in the Oreo eating contest! I must say it is much harder to eat as many cookies as you can in a minute than I thought it would be! I only got 6 down. Thank you old man winter a majority of the event was canceled do to bad weather. So I stayed in with Brian, Bob, and Vivian to play board games. That was very fun! (I even let them win a few times) My room was fantastic. It was very cozy, the bed was way more comfortable then I could have ever asked for! And breakfast was fantastic! Pumpkin waffles, coddled egg, yogurt parfait, and a great twist on sugared grapefruit. I very much so enjoyed my weekend get away. Thanks for all of the fun!

This is our second visit to Lanesboro in two years. My husband and I were greeted at the door of The Fillmore House by Brian and Vivian, the dog. Brian sat with us in his beautiful livingroom sharing the history of the home while we devoured his scrumptious cream filled strawberries and sipped on champagne. Since we had just finished riding the Root River bike trails, we were ready for some quiet time. Brian showed us to our lovely room named Mae's Room. It is beautifully decorated and the queen size bed is truly the most comfortable bed we have slept in. The tiffany lamps made the room so cozy and warm. We woke to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and was surprised at how elequont the table was set. Our favorite breakfast was the coddled eggs (a first for us), grilled oranges and banana french toast oozing with warm, carmel sauce. Brian then spent some time chatting with us and the other guests at the breakfast table - we did laugh alot! We then headed out for a day of exploring some neighboring towns, shopping the streets of Lanesboro, visiting the Farmers Market, and of course, returning to the famous pie shoppe in Whalen! Brian made reservations for us at a quaint little restaurant and also for a wonderful play at the Commonweal Theatre for Saturday evening. While shopping in town, it was apparent to us how much the towns people there love Brian. Our 2 night stay went way too fast, but we will always remember how friendly, witty, and knowledgeable Brian was. And we will, of course, remember dear, sweet Vivian, whose manners were impeccable! This was our first true B&B experience, and we were a little nervous about it - staying in a small place, breakfast with the other guests, "cozy" room... But it turned out to be wonderful, mostly due to Brian. His service was fantastic, and he was a charming host. The breakfasts were adventurous (3 courses, including grilled grapefruit & coddled eggs) and delicious. He had great suggestions for things to do, and he is a great booster for Lanesboro. His passion for hospitality is evident, and just adds to the experience. He was great to talk with, but not overbearing…just the right mix. He really knows people. The accommodations were great; I especially appreciated the brand new bathroom fixtures. Even my outdoorsy, sports-loving boyfriend loved the weekend.

Brian was a very selfless host, and made me feel very comfortable. There was always something to do, and if I needed a suggestion, Brian was quick to come up with one! Vivian is a very sweet natured dog, that is very much loved by many. The food was FANTASIC! And I slept like a baby, in Tillie's room.

We made a middle-of-the-week decision to come to Lanesboro, and the Fillmore House was recommended by two other inns that were full. We could not have been more pleased with the experience. Although we could only stay one night, we were treated like long-lost relatives, with a warm welcome and lots of ideas for exploration. Brian was the perfect mixture of charm and local information. The other guests soon felt like friends, and we enjoyed a delightful breakfast. We will return!

This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. I must say it was a wonderful experience. The moment we walked through the door we felt very welcome and there is nothing better than strawberries and champagne. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are very elegant and delicious. Brian is very knowledgeable of the town and steered us in the right direction on what to see and do. What a lovely town, I would definitely go back.

We stayed two nights after viewing the Filmore House B&B during a previous open house event. What a fun time!! Brian the host greeted us by name as we arrived and treated us to cream cheese filled strawberries and champaign. We had a great time chatting (he has lots of fun stories!!) and he gave us lots of ideas of fun things to do in Lanesboro. We were not sure about hours for one destination we wanted to see so he called ahead for us. The house is very nicely decorated without being too gaudy like some others. Bed was really really comfortable and rooms are quiet and welcoming. The breakfasts were amazing!! Brian really goes all out with great tasting and healthy breakfast with really fun presentation. The gingered pear sauce on the fluffy waffles was fantastic!! As was the coddled eggs with banana bread french toast with carmel sauce and chocolate bits.................oh my......... Brian even brought us lemonade with a stawberry when we got back from a 25 mile bike ride on our second day. All in all we were quite pampered while still feeling very sincere. A great time!! We'll be back for sure.

We came to Lanesboro to relax and enjoy the local cycling. The Fillmore house was a very relaxing place to stay. Brian and Bob were great hosts and have done an excellent job in restoring this house. The banana bread french toast was excellent. Vivian is a very sweet dog. The house was very clean & quiet. We had an excellent stay and hope to return soon.

The room was very well insulated from sounds outside the home and from other guests. Brian was friendly and accommodating when we asked to extend our stay. The breakfasts were delicious!

We spent our 29th wedding anniversary staying at the Fillmore House the 27th-29th. It was a warm and welcoming place to stay at. The food was good. Brian was a wonderful host.

I spent a night at Fillmore house as a surprise birthday gift from my girlfriend. It was just delightful. The review below all ring true. Brian is an excellent host, a fountain of knowledge on Lanesboro. Vivian is a beautiful dog with a great temperament. Bob is a keen cyclist with good tips on where to go. The food was top notch, the house is beautifully put together and the garden has plenty of treats for those with green fingers. The location is great; walkable to the town in 10 minutes where you can wine taste, go biking/tubing/canoeing or stroll around the eclectic mix of stores. A wonderful experience, we highly recommend Fillmore House.

We were greeted by a snuggly Cocker, Vivian, and her well-behaved owner, Brian, and a vintage plate piled with stuffed strawberries and well-chilled champagne--what a way to start a weekend! Brian knew his stuff about the ins and outs of Lanesboro; where to dine, take in the local arts scene, and where to get the best pie I've ever eaten--this is only to be had after riding the BEAUTIFUL Root River bike trail! The Fillmore House is in a lovely neighborhood; a short walk to the "doings" of Lanesboro. The eclectic furnishings are lovely and there are many charming touches throughout the home. Breakfast was yummy; the company was chummy; the host was divine! Thanks for making our 18 hours a trip to another kinder gentler time.

This was my first experience at a B&B and the bar has been set pretty high for future stays elsewhere. The rooms were lovely, the innkeeper very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious as well as beautifully presented. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Brian, a most wonderful inn keeper. He was such a joy to talk to. Knowledgeable in all the goings on in town and history. There couldn't be a finer man. (I'm certain Bob would be no less wonderful. He was away so we did not get the pleasure to meet him) My wife and I stayed in Genevieve's room. Named for Brian's grandmother, this room was fantastic. The bed, I've never slept so soundly in my life! Comfy, plush, and the whole room was beautifully decorated. The bathroom, with jacuzzi tub was a hit! A great place to lay your head. Brian's breakfast's were to die for. Day one, along with the starters, we dined on incredible Stained Glass Eggs. Nummmmm. On our final day, we dined on his signature dish of Banana Bread French toast. Chocolate Chip and Walnut Banana Bread French toast, drizzled with home made Caramel sauce. Incredible to say the least. All in all, we waited 7 years to return after our first time at another B&B. We won't make that same mistake again, and will definitely be staying at the Fillmore House.

We were overjoyed by the warm welcome we received from Brian and Vivian upon our arrival to the Fillmore House this past weekend. Brian couldn't have been a more gracious host. He sat with us for a generous amount of time, sharing history about the his home and Lanesboro. He is truly a charming and warm person. He and Bob have put together a beautiful bed and breakfast filled with character, comfort and charm. The food that Brian prepared for everyone was beautifully presented and so delicious. My husband and I feel that we are truly blessed to have met Brian and privileged to have stayed at his charming B & B. We will definitely go back for another visit. It is by far, the nicest B & B that we've visited!

We were so comfortable in our room (complete with a jacuzzi tub) and couldn't have asked for a MORE DELICIOUS meal (I see a Top Chef appearance in your future, Brian). Vivian was a wonderful greeter and a steadfast companion as we ate our breakfast- sitting peacefully at our feet. We loved hearing the history of Lanesboro and the Fillmore house over champagne and strawberries upon our arrival and only wished our visit could have been longer. The proximity to the bike trail was great and we even survived a huge storm. It couldn't have been a better weekend! We will be back!

Brian is the most gracious of hosts, and made us feel very welcome. Our room was very comfortable, and our breakfast was delicious. We celebrated our 5th anniversary at the Fillmore House B&B in Lanesboro and could not have had a better time. Brian made our stay pleasant and relaxing. Our room was charming and breakfast was wonderful. We are thinking about making this an annual celebration. We'll definately be back!

We didn't expect to find anything available at the last minute for an impromptu Independence Day getaway, but the gods of B&B were smiling and we were able to stay at Fillmore House on less than 24 hours' notice. Originally from Lanesboro many years ago and having known Dr. Palmer, the original owner of this gorgeous house, I was inspired by the beauty created here by our gracious host Brian. The many gorgeous flower gardens greeted us upon are arrival. The charm that creates warmth and welcome are felt from the moment I stepped inside the front door. My husband and I are "seasoned" B & B lovers. Our stay at the Fillmore House exceeded our expectations. The library and living room are great places to relax, read or have a glass of lemonade which was a nice treat Brian made for us. Brian fixed a delicious breakfast and the presentation was superb. It was so much fun to chat with him about my memories of growing up in this picturesque valley which I refer to as "God's Country". We will visit Fillmore House B & B again and recommend it to anyone that is looking for a memorable B & B experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Fillmore House on a weekend in June for my 40th birthday. It was so beautiful! Although we had a rainy weekend, we enjoyed relaxing in many of the main floor rooms as well as our suite. Everything about the suite was exquisite and lavish. The bed was so comfortable and soft, and the bathroom was very clean and decorated beautifully. Bob was out of town, but Brian did a great job of welcoming us and gave us a detailed tour of the spectacular gardens. I just loved our stay, and would definitely stay again. Brian really made my 40th birthday special. Oh, and the breakfast was gourmet and almost too beautiful to eat! Thanks!

My husband and I stayed at the Fillmore House for a week-end in May. Brian welcomed us with strawberries and champagne and gave us a tour of the beautiful Victorian house that he and Bob remodeled two years ago. The house is enchanting, the rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. What surprised me the most is the attention to details such the plush bed with the finest sheets, the bathrobes hanging next to the bathroom, the freshly cut fragrant lilacs. We knew breakfast was included but we were truly amazed when in the morning we sat at the dining table and Brian served us a three course meal with the most exquisite food combinations. Brian is a superb host and provided much information about historic Lanesboro and things to do during our stay. We had a truly wonderful time at the Fillmore House in Lanesboro and we'll be back.

My daughter and I stayed at Fillmore House in May 2009. We were greeted on the front sidewalk, helped with our bags, and escorted inside for light refreshments. Brian filled us in on Lanesboro's history and places of interest. He had already made reservations for Friday at Saturday dinners and the Amish tour, and had reserved places for us (front row) at the Commonweal Theater for Saturday night (the production was excellent). My daughter made use of the bike trail, but not all 60 miles of it! The area is beautiful, the restaurants are good, and the town is of historic interest. Brian prepared outstanding breakfasts for us, at a time of our choosing and carefully planned for my lactose intolerance. The Amish tour shouldn't be missed--very informative and fun. So we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and left on Sunday (after attending the historic church on top of the hill) feeling rested and refreshed.

We had a wonderful getaway at the Fillmore House and enjoyed the company of Brian, Bob and Vivian. The meals, and little extras were excellent. Clearly Brian has a green thumb as he has created beautiful gardens covering much of the lawn. Lanesboro is a fun place to enjoy many activities and I greatly enjoyed my time on the bike trails that run through town. Brian was a fabulous host and clearly knew his way around town as well as knowing most of the people in town. We look forward to staying again soon.

We had the pleasure over the Valentine's weekend to enjoy the Fillmore House plus some Lanesboro culture. Our hosts, other guests, the locals, and must not forget Vivian the cocker spaniel, welcomed us. Very much enjoyed the strawberry greetings, chocolate wishes on the bed and the morning three course breakfast. The room was restful and delightful. We look forward to returning.

My husband and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend at the Fillmore House B & B. We stayed in Genevieve's room, which was very luxurious and cozy. The service was excellent! Bob and Brian made us feel right at home; even, their dog Vivian, who is adorable, treated us as family. Our three-course breakfast was very delicious! I would recommend the Fillmore House Bed & Breakfast to family and friends who want to enjoy a romantic get-away. Thanks again for the adorable baby gift!

The Fillmore House pampered my partner and I with an amazing Valentines day weekend. I could not have planned a better get away with my partner of 22 years. The Fillmore House had everything I could of asked for in a valentines day weekend. All the extra special touches -- flowers, chocolates, decorations, and atmosphere. Even the Fillmore House dog, Vivian, was a charming and gracious hostess. The three course breakfast was as beautiful as it was delicious. I new that I picked the best place to stay in town as soon as I awoke to the smell of coffee and banana bread french toast. I will recommend the Fillmore House to all my friends and neighbors. I can't believe all the detail that Brian and Bob have put into the Fillmore House, but it really shows and makes me want to keep coming back. See you again this summer! Simply Amazing!

I was very pleased to be referred to this bed and breakfast by a friend. I had wanted to visit historic Lanesboro after seeing it listed in Mother Earth News as one of the 10 best small towns in America. I was not disappointed. The Fillmore House is within walking distance of the shops and entertainment dowtown. The exterior of the property is well maintanned with a manicured lawn and lovely gardens with statues and flowers. The interior of the house is very clean and beatifully decorated in deep relaxing color tones. The room I stayed in was comfortable and quiet. I am sure a very famous television homemaking diva would love the bed I slept in with its fresh clean sheets,pillows, and comforter! Brian is a very personable host and he can cook too. He made a delicious breakfast that was hot and filling. I absolutely love this bed and breakfast.

What a weekend....relaxation, pampering, and beauty, all rolled up into one grand experience. Bob and Brian give you lovely, quality time and great conversation. Their dog, Vivian, is too sweet for words! The house is exquisite and the breakfast has to be experienced to be believed...YUMMY!! My husband and I would like to extend our "rave" reviews concerning our recent stay at the Fillmore House. Our visit more than met our expectations across the board (room sz., value, cleanliness & dining experience). We were delighted to participate in the "Lanesboro in X-mas Tour" while staying at the Fillmore Hse. which was exquisitely decorated for the Holiday Season. Brian and Bob were absolutely "wonderful" hosts ... their hospitality was unmatched! They went all out on entertainment and looked very distinguised in their tuxedos & cumber buns they wore the event--very debonair, indeed!! We wish them & their doggie, Miss Vivian (who by the way looked adorable in her x-mas attire! .. dress, necklace, fancy undies, etc.) a Very Merry X-mas & Happy New Yr.!!!

Because we were the only guests, Brian generously gave us all his time for great conversations on many subjects. The strawberries and champagne made a wonderful beginning to a delightful stay, and Vivian's presence created a homey atmosphere. Plus, the food was delicious!

Brian and "Vivian" are gracious hosts in their newly refurbished B and B on a quiet street in Lanesboro. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated.The house is within walking distance of our favorite Lanesboro features: the Commonweal Theatre and the Root River Bike Trail. The welcoming champagne and strawberries were a treat, and the breakfast was nutritious, delicious and hearty. An excellent experience and value!

We spent two nights at Fillmore House with friends in October. The rooms aren't large, but are decorated in lush Victorian style and are very comfortable. The beds were wonderful. The multi-course breakfasts were delicious and elegantly served. Brian is a great host and had many recommendations for things to do in the area. We'd like to go back when the gardens are in their prime. Great, relaxing experience.

A rainy weekend in southern Minnesota was highlighted by staying at Fillmore House B & B. A group of friends and I stayed at the charmingly decorated Fillmore House early in October. The Host, Brian, went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, in addition to serving a delicious gormet breakfast on Sunday. The comfortable beds made sleeping a dream, after an evening of fun and visiting in the antiquely furnished parlor and dining room. I definitely would recommend the Fillmore House to anyone wishing to stay at a very charming & comfortable B & B in Lanesboro.

The Fillmore House is an exceptionally charming and elegant B&B with a laid back atmosphere. After being graciously greeted by Brian and Bob and treated to champaign and stuffed strawberries, I readily accepted a tour of the house. Each room was beautifully decorated with much attention given to detail. My bedroom was spotless and well appointed. The B&B is located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by other lovely homes and within walking distance of downtown. Both Bob and Brian were very helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions and recommendations for activities and day trips. There is so much to do and see in the area. Each morning we sat down to an elegant multi-course breakfast. Menu selections were very creative with beautiful presentation and were a treat to the palate. I never left the table hungry! A special treat was their dog Vivian - such a cutie and well behaved. Fillmore and Lanesboro are a wonderful destination . Brian and Bob were great hosts and I will be back. Until next time, Dave.

What could have been more relaxing that our stay with Brian and Bob at Fillmore House in Lanesboro. We were greeted with champagne and lusious strawberries and welcomed to our room by cute little cocker Vivian. We had the most restful night's sleep we've had in a long time. The smell of fresh banana bread gave us a clue of the wonderful breakfast that awaited us. Beautiful home and gardens and wonderful hospitality!

My wife and I have never stayed in a B&B, so we didn't know what to expect. Fillmore House is billed as a high-end, comfortable, and elegant experience. Our experience was truly all of these. Our weekend began with strawberries and champagne when we arrived. What a nice touch! Breakfast both days involved three courses. Brians creations are delicious, with elegant presentation. The house was immaculate and very well-appointed. Brian is a gentle man who made us feel special. You owe it to yourself to stay at Fillmore House. (And bring treats for Viv. She works for tips!) Life can be hectic. Serenity is, at times, aloof at best. We needed a weekend to be pampered, to rejuvenate, to relax; we experienced such a weekend at the Fillmore House. The scenic drive into Lanesboro sets the stage for a quaint, romantic getaway. Beautiful foliage and an expansive porch build anticipation as we approach the beautifully colored glass front door and are greeted with warmth, laughter, and sheer decadence (champagne and strawberries!)! We stayed in Genevieve's room, complete with an authentic picture of Genevieve, Brian's grandmother, herself. The guest's rooms honor the women who've gone before hosts Brian and Bob. How lovely to capture the essence of these powerful and memorable women into this home! Vivian, the four-legged hostess, offers her affection, her gentle character, and her ability to make you smile. Brian, the two-legged host, offers his passion for his B&B craft, his amazing and memorable breakfasts (wow... three astounding courses!!), and his expertise in "all things Lanesboro (and surrounding towns)." We benefited greatly from Brian's knowledge of current happenings in town and how to go about experiencing Lanesboro in our own, unique way. Silent two-legged host Bob, perhaps Brian's most cherished cheerleader, was able to spend time with us as we relaxed on the back deck and connected our lives. Small world we live in. As the Dakota say, "Mitakuye Oyasin:" we are all related!. Our spur of the moment get-away provided us with an opportunity to meet new people (Tina and Josh; Robbie and Catherine; Brian and Bob) and to create a common thread in our otherwise hectic lives resulting in a web of friendship, shared experiences, and memorable breakfast moments. We decided to come to Lanesboro in July, 2009. We do not frequent B&Bs, so we weren't sure what to expect exactly. We were just hoping for a comfortable and quiet place to stay and go biking during the day. To our surprise, we were greeted with cream cheese (secret recipe) stuffed strawberries and champagne by Brian. He was VERY helpful by giving us information about the town and restaurants. He had secure bike storage in the garage, an immaculate home, beautiful gardens and a very comfortable bed. Also, a delicious breakfast was served both mornings with multiple, healthy courses. Thank you Brian and Vivian (Bob was out of town) for a lovely weekend. If we go back, we'll stay with you! - Steve and Jenny

I have stayed in several B&B's, but can honestly say this was one of my favorites. Brian is a very gracious host! He makes guests feel very welcome and is very knowledgeable about the town, things to do, etc. The greeting with strawberries and champagne was a wonderful way to start our stay and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. We will be back!

Brian greeted me with strawberrries, champaigne and a huge welcome. He provided fascinating history about the house and its restoration. And was very knowledgable about Lanesboro and surrounding attractions. The rooms were immaculate and the breakfast to die for. Beautiful gardens and house. Gotta love little Vivian too! The Fillmore house was beautiful. Located on a quiet street in historic Lanesboro, it provided comfort (beds were amazing!!) and relaxation. Within walking distance to downtown, it was next to all the action without all the noise. The whole house was very clean and breakfast was delicious! We weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do in Lanesboro but the host offered great advice. He knew history about the city and all the fun things to do, he went out of his way to make sure we had a good time! We definitely did :)

My husband and I decided to pack our bikes at the last minute on 4th of July weekend, and head to Lanesboro..without a reservation! Lanesboro is an amazing place. Due to a cancelation we lucked out as there was one opening at the Fillmore House. What a find! We've often stayed at B&B's when we travel, but the hospitality Brian and Bob offered exceeded anything we had every experienced. They greeted us with an excellent glass of Champange at the door. There was attention to every detail in the house and our room. The place is immaculate and very confortable. We instantly found ourselves in a relax mode. The location of the Fillmore House is in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Our hosts offered us bike storage, and when we inquired about the area, trails and restaurants, they were able to direct us expertly. The best part is Brian is a gourmet cook and breakfast was healthy, scrumptous and much of it, organic. As we were getting ready to leave, we had the feeling we were leaving old friends. Brian and Bob are amazing hosts and their B&B retreat is the perfect getaway for a couple, friends, or even for a person to go alone and relax. Thank you, Brian & Bob! Debra & Will
