Inn St Gemme Beauvais

  • Inn Details

The Inn St. Gemme Beauvais is the oldest continuously operated Bed and Breakfast in Missouri. The Inn has earned a Three Star Mobil rating. It has been a recipient of the Golden Star Award from Inn Style, Inc. and has been featured in Country Inns and Midwest Living magazines. The history of the Inn dates back to the 1700s when the daughter of Vital St. Gemme Beauvais farmed the property. The building was constructed in 1848 as a private residence for Felix Rozier and his growing family. The Roziers were prominent and successful merchants in Ste. Genevieve and their family legacy is still observable today. The Inn maintains the splendor of the past with period decor while adding contemporary luxuries in each room. Upon approaching the wide veranda leading to the front porch, one cannot help but have their eyes drawn toward the six tall pillars that grace the front of this three-story brick colonial mansion. After entering the front door your senses are inundated. The four-armed brass chandelier dating back to 1860s located in the foyer demands you immediate attention. The sounds of soft music plays gently in the background while the smell of fresh baked goods lingers in the air. As you turn, you see the elegant dining room with its nineteenth century crystal chandelier which was imported from Florence. It hangs before the carved marble mantle of the fireplace. During your candlelit breakfast, there is bound to be a small fire burning in the fireplace allowing you to bask in the warmth of its glow. There is a small common kitchenette and dining area on the second floor providing guests with a stocked refrigerator, coffee maker, coffees, teas and snacks, all available on an honor basis. Included in your stay is Tea Time at 2:00PM providing teas and breads/cookies, wine and hors d'oeuvers in the evening, and a full four course breakfast.

I was surprised for my birthday July 20th, 2009 when we showed up at the carriage house for 2 days of enchantment. The room, wine, breakfast, and surroundings were amazing. The folks there were so very polite and accommodating. They did everything possible to make the stay pleasant and it was just that. What a wonderful way to spend a birthday. I hope to repeat the romantic getaway for many years to come.

We visited off-season for a weekend and stayed in the Carriage House. Loved having the separate building, room was cozy, comfortable, and really clean. Breakfast was excellent - really nice selection and great food! We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for our anniversary. The Forever Summer room was much larger than conveyed in the picture. Everything was in pristine condition. The antiques were tasteful and a wonderful compliment to the decor. The meals were some of the best we've ever had-a succulent duck dinner and a decadent stuffed French toast breakfast. The owners were very pleasant. We will be going back in the Fall!
