    Innkeepers Description:

We are former healthcare executives who love people and love to entertain. We enjoy city living, exploring all the great neighborhood restaurants, frequenting farmers' markets, and all that city living has to offer. Besides caring for this beautiful old mansion, our favorite activity is spoiling our four grandchildren.

As romantic as the historic Victorian walking park just a few blocks south of the Mansion, for which this suite is named, you'll find yourself beckoned irresistibly to nestle into the opulent Victorian king-size bed plumped high with enormous pillows and comforters, or swoon in sheer delight on the Victorian fainting couch. In an adjoining room is a Jacuzzi for two, a separate shower and heated towel bar complete with the Mansion's oversized Egyptian cotton towels.

The Forest Park Suite is as impressive as its namesake, the "crown jewel of St. Louis parks" and site of the 1904 World's Fair. A little corner of that park has been brought inside this luxurious guest suite in the form of a large wall mural painted by highly regarded local artist Leslie Faust and featuring the view across the lake and up Art Hill toward the Saint Louis Art Museum. The mural serves as the backdrop for the double Jacuzzi waiting for you in one corner of the enormous bedroom. Other features include a king-size antique brass-and-iron bed, a cherry armoire, and a chaise lounge.

Have you ever dreamed of a cozy nook in a large bay window overlooking an expanse of grass and trees? Here's your room. Along with its view of historic Reservoir Park, you'll see the dramatic, soaring, carved-stone water tower dating back to just after the Civil War. The room itself has an aura of old Southern charm, accented with hunting prints and featuring a graceful queen-size four poster plantation bed, a Louis XV chair and a massive mirrored antique English armoire. There's an attached private bath, of course.

One of the most charming and cloistered places in all Saint Louis is the Missouri Botanical Garden, just a few short blocks from the Mansion. The Botanical Garden lends its name to this sunny, bay-windowed room featuring botanical prints and a queen-size carved wood sleigh bed. You can spend truly relax in the comfortable chairs situated in the large bay window as you gaze upon the park across the street. Your attached private bath features a heated towel rack and a floral tile mural in the shower.

Jan and Dave are wonderful hosts, the inn is very special, and the Christmas decorations fit perfectly. We definitely will return, and we definitely recommend the Fleur-de-Lys to anyone coming to St. Louis, or just looking for a special place to stay.

We recently went to St Louis on short notice and the upscale hotel we usually stay at was booked. I obtained reservations at the Fleur-de-Lys and was greatly impressed. My wife and I have found a new destination when we return to St. Louis.

The Fleur de Lys Mansion was exquisite. Jan was an amazing host as Vicki. There is nothing they haven't thought of. They took care of all the little things and truly made us feel at home. I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone.
