My wife and I have never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before. When our kids gave us a weekend at Herman, We felt uneasy, because I thought that we would be renting out one of their bedrooms, and sharing their bathrooms. Boy were we really blown-away when they opened the door to our room. It was a separate set of rooms, that were sound proof and beautifully decorated in antique furnishings. The bathroom was off from our bedroom, and even though the house was filled with amazing antiques, the bathroom gave the early 1900 atmosphere, but used modern facilities that added to the "homely" welcome that we enjoyed all weekend. Laurie and Gary were gracious hostesses, who shared their outstanding background and Herman. After a short introduction, we felt like we were staying with family, and yet the sense of privacy was always there. The food was outstanding, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in the Happy Wanderer room and were so pleased with the beautiful furnishings. The room is in a separate building and we had complete privacy. We loved the special dessert that was left in your room each evening. The porch area had separate tables for two to have your breakfast and the setting was so quaint. Gary and Laurie are great hosts and made sure you were always taken care of.

We stayed at Abigail's for a 34th anniversary weekend. Laurie and Gary were very helpful in helping us select a place for a couples massage and where to eat for dinner. The nightly desserts were fabulous. The breakfasts were also wonderful while eating at a private table for two on the back porch. They know how to do it up right.
