Built in 1871, a classic Italianate brick three story house built by a boyhood friend of Mark Twain, offers spacious rooms, a flying staircase all the way to the third floor, original marble fireplaces, huge pocket doors separating the two parlors. Original inside shutters still are in use in many of the 9' lace covered windows. Ceilings are 12 1/2 feet high and each room has a closet. Each room has a private bath and some have refrigerators. Ice and cold drinks are always available in the kitchen on the main floor for the guests. Walking distance of Mississippi River and antique shops downtown.

We met friends for a Labor Day outing. After some confusion about our reservation we placed on line the owners did everything they could to make it a very nice stay. The breakfast was the best part of our stay.

The owner, Nedra, is so friendly and caring!! The breakfast she serves is delicious, and there's always plenty of it! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, and look forward to going back.

How many people can say they spent 4 days in a mansion?? Well, we can! The Robards Mansion exceeded our expectations. The mansion is breathtaking especially the staircase! The stairs alone are worth the visit!! Nedra and Leon made us feel like family instead of visitors. We wish we never had to leave. We felt so at home everywhere, on every floor! The hike up to the cupola is worth the effort! The views are breathtaking! Breakfast with Mark Twain was an unexpected delight! Don't miss an opportunity to spend a few days and nights at the Robards Mansion! John and Cathy Krebs

The Robards Bed & Breakface is definitly old. You can see how statly it must have been in its' day. Nedra gave us a tour of the whole mansion even the large coupola. It is a great location for all of the downtown historical sites. Nedra fixted us a really outstanding breakfast. The price was very reasonable as B&B's go. Tom & Mary
