Welcome to the Inn on Crescent Lake, located in historic Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Only 30 miles from downtown Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City International Airport, the Inn is perfectly situated for a relaxing weekend getaway and provides an excellent lodging alternative to business travelers. The stately three-story 1915 Georgian Colonial mansion sits on 22 acres and is surrounded by two crescent-shaped ponds, historically known as Crescent Lake. The Inn was meticulously renovated in 1997. While the architectural integrity of the Inn was preserved, all of the rooms were completely modernized. Unwind in the extraordinary comfort of the solarium or the beautifully appointed living room. Each of the Inn's 10 luxurious sleeping rooms and suites contain a collection of antiques and refined furnishings. Each room is decorated with its own charm and personality and features a large private bath, individual temperature control, cable television and elegant toiletries. Indulge yourself in a six-foot whirlpool tub, a standard whirlpool tub or an authentic, old-fashioned claw-footed tub. Outside at the Inn you will find a swimming pool, seven person hot tub, paddle boats, a bass boat and walking paths. In addition to being one of the area's most romantic getaway locations, the Inn offers an incredible setting for private parties, weddings, corporate retreats and other special events.

We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful gem of a bed and breakfast. Compliments to Beverly and her husband for their "welcoming" charm. The room we stayed in (The Crescent Suite) was very unique and lovely. The breakfast was delicious and filling! We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We stayed at Inn on Crescent Lake on Valentine's Day. The mansion is beautiful, and it's in a very pretty setting. Our room was wonderful, and included a large jacuzzi tub. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was comfortable. We stayed n the Casbah Room.I enjoyed the Stuffed French Toast we had for breakfast. We ate dinner in town at the Ventana Grill and it was great, too.

The inn and experience was perfect. One night in the cashbah and I no longer want a big chain, cookie cutter hotel room. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast divine.

Good: Beautiful building and grounds, host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well kept. Nice Video library. Really loved the coffee/tea bar and on demand hot water. We didn't drink but the private wines looked good. So So's: Breakfast was a nice Quiche, but accompanied by prefab biscuits, hash brown patties, and sausage patties. Bads: Bed was hard as a rock, could not sleep. Checked the beds in some other rooms, they were the same. Shower could not produce a usable stream. All in all a good experience, but won't be going back.

The Inn on Crescent Lake was a lovely place to stay. The inn keepers were very friendly and warm. Any questions we had prior to our trip were answered with a quick response. I would have rated the service and dining as outstanding, however, the rating scale wouldn't accept my choice. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered to us in at the Cottage. The Cottage is a quiet, seclued place, ideal for lots of privacy. Our only two comments, not meant to be negative, however would have made the experience even more heavenly if met, are: The whirlpool tub was great, however, we needed more hot water. There is a note stating the gallons of water it takes to fill vs. how much is in the water tank. Needless to say, we didn't pay attention to the note and had a warm tub of water, not hot like we would have liked it. There were some boxelder bugs in the cottage and a note stating we may see some, so we weren't surprised and they didn't bother us. However while enjoying our warm tub experience, we had a couple commit suicide in the lights which caused a little bit of a stink (lol). Other than those two items, our stay was lovely and we would recommend the Inn to any couple wanting to find some romantic time away!

First stay at a B&B for myself and my girlfriend, must say it was very relaxing. Very nice accommodations, we will go back, probably when it is warmer so we can use all the amenities.

Seldom have I been as impressed with an inn as I was with the Inn on Crescent Lake. I travel around the country reviewing bed and breakfasts for my blog and this inn was one of the top two that I visited in 2014. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Despite being 100 years old, the mansion is pristine both inside and outside. Craig and Beverly were very warm, welcoming, and solicitous. My room (McCleary Room) was spacious and comfortable and the whirlpool bath was a welcome bit of relaxation. Beverly is a fabulous cook whose breakfasts kept me full until dinnertime. I also enjoyed the pictorial histories of the family in the living room. Due to the nature of my work, most inns I visit are usually a one and done deal, but the Inn on Crescent Lake makes my shortlist of inns I will do my darnedest to get back to, especially if they mount a mystery weekend. This inn gets my highest recommendation for a visit. --Chris E

My husband and I stayed in the Crescent suite for new years eve. The mansion is so beautiful inside and out. We had a wonderful stay and will return more often. The suite was amazing. Very relaxing and romantic, which is what we wanted. We ordered the fruit and cheese tray, and the romance package. Both were great. The owner is such a sweetheart, very down to earth, and very welcoming. Thanks so much for helping us start our 2015 year in such a nice way.
