We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. Craig was really nice and gave a great explanation about things around the place! The staff was so nice to us! The room was clean and all set up by the time we checked in.

The Inn on Crescent Lake is a beautiful, relaxing, romantic place to spend a few days! My husband surprised me with the birthday package & we stayed in the Ballroom. I was moved to tears upon seeing the room, a dozen roses, & a birthday cake with balloons! Everything was so beautiful & special. The hosts and staff were so hospitable & the breakfast was delicious! We never got bored during our three days there. I recommend dining at Ventana in town - it was absolutely great! And if the store is open, check out Mind, Body, & Soap two doors down from Ventana. It's a super cute shop with divine smelling soaps, lotions, and more! We will DEFINITELY be back for future stays at the Inn on Crescent Lake!

My husband and I had tried the "Bed and Breakfast" thing before and didn't like it, but after finding the Inn on Crescent Lake on the internet and watching the you tube video, we decided to give it a try. We absolutely loved it! We chose the "crescent room", which was very nice and very private. Breakfast was wonderful. Very nice estate with walking grounds, pool, paddle boats and massage therapists. Would definitely recommend and do again!

It is a beautiful house and accommodations. They are just a little ridged on there policies. We booked two rooms for the weekend and spent over $800 and were told we couldn't have an extra hour or two for a late check out. There was nobody else in the inn which was a little disapointing. Other than that the rooms are really nice, clean and the property is gorgeous!

We loved this bed and breakfast, a hidden gem for sure! We stayed in the Garden room, it was cozy and super clean! Everything was very comfortable there and the grounds are beautiful as well! The Inn keeper, Craig, gave us tips for dinner and we ended up and great place in town called the Ventana Cafe, it was awesome!! Breakfast in the morning was great, everyone was so friendly and we felt welcome and comfortable. Looking forward to going back in the summer and trying the row boat on the water, fire pit and swimming pool! A great place to relax indeed!

We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful gem of a bed and breakfast. Compliments to Beverly and her husband for their "welcoming" charm. The room we stayed in (The Crescent Suite) was very unique and lovely. The breakfast was delicious and filling! We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We stayed at Inn on Crescent Lake on Valentine's Day. The mansion is beautiful, and it's in a very pretty setting. Our room was wonderful, and included a large jacuzzi tub. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was comfortable. We stayed n the Casbah Room.I enjoyed the Stuffed French Toast we had for breakfast. We ate dinner in town at the Ventana Grill and it was great, too.

The inn and experience was perfect. One night in the cashbah and I no longer want a big chain, cookie cutter hotel room. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast divine.

Good: Beautiful building and grounds, host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well kept. Nice Video library. Really loved the coffee/tea bar and on demand hot water. We didn't drink but the private wines looked good. So So's: Breakfast was a nice Quiche, but accompanied by prefab biscuits, hash brown patties, and sausage patties. Bads: Bed was hard as a rock, could not sleep. Checked the beds in some other rooms, they were the same. Shower could not produce a usable stream. All in all a good experience, but won't be going back.

This is our third time to stay here and it is perfect every time no matter what season! The property is beautiful, clean and peaceful! Breakfast is fabulous and the honor bar has a fabulous wine selection. Twenty four hours of bliss!! Highly recommend it for all couples!

The Inn on Crescent Lake was a lovely place to stay. The inn keepers were very friendly and warm. Any questions we had prior to our trip were answered with a quick response. I would have rated the service and dining as outstanding, however, the rating scale wouldn't accept my choice. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered to us in at the Cottage. The Cottage is a quiet, seclued place, ideal for lots of privacy. Our only two comments, not meant to be negative, however would have made the experience even more heavenly if met, are: The whirlpool tub was great, however, we needed more hot water. There is a note stating the gallons of water it takes to fill vs. how much is in the water tank. Needless to say, we didn't pay attention to the note and had a warm tub of water, not hot like we would have liked it. There were some boxelder bugs in the cottage and a note stating we may see some, so we weren't surprised and they didn't bother us. However while enjoying our warm tub experience, we had a couple commit suicide in the lights which caused a little bit of a stink (lol). Other than those two items, our stay was lovely and we would recommend the Inn to any couple wanting to find some romantic time away!

First stay at a B&B for myself and my girlfriend, must say it was very relaxing. Very nice accommodations, we will go back, probably when it is warmer so we can use all the amenities.

Seldom have I been as impressed with an inn as I was with the Inn on Crescent Lake. I travel around the country reviewing bed and breakfasts for my blog and this inn was one of the top two that I visited in 2014. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Despite being 100 years old, the mansion is pristine both inside and outside. Craig and Beverly were very warm, welcoming, and solicitous. My room (McCleary Room) was spacious and comfortable and the whirlpool bath was a welcome bit of relaxation. Beverly is a fabulous cook whose breakfasts kept me full until dinnertime. I also enjoyed the pictorial histories of the family in the living room. Due to the nature of my work, most inns I visit are usually a one and done deal, but the Inn on Crescent Lake makes my shortlist of inns I will do my darnedest to get back to, especially if they mount a mystery weekend. This inn gets my highest recommendation for a visit. --Chris E

My husband and I stayed in the Crescent suite for new years eve. The mansion is so beautiful inside and out. We had a wonderful stay and will return more often. The suite was amazing. Very relaxing and romantic, which is what we wanted. We ordered the fruit and cheese tray, and the romance package. Both were great. The owner is such a sweetheart, very down to earth, and very welcoming. Thanks so much for helping us start our 2015 year in such a nice way.

My wife and I shared an anniversary weekend at The Inn on Crescent Lake. From booking to checkout, Beverly was extremely accommodating and helpful--such a wonderful personality--and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. I opted for the Anniversary package so we were also greeted with chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room (plus breakfast delivered the next day). The Garden room was extremely clean and had the benefits of our own private entrance and hot tub. The rest of the Inn was really neat and peaceful to walk around the grounds and paddle-boat around the lake. We will definitely go back.

My hubby and I stayed in the cottage for a small honeymoon. It was wonderful! The grounds are beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Which is perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons, rekindling with your partner or just to get away for a few days. The breakfast was delicious. There is a bunch of stuff you can do around this area like vineyards, bar and restaurants. We're already planning to go back for our anniversary next year. I know it's a little bit more money than hotels, but it was total worth it!!

The Inn on Crescent Lake is a wonderful bed and breakfast. As my husband says, "They do it right here!". Since it is a short drive from KC it is a great place to go to relax over the weekend. They have great activities to do if you are feeling up to it. Otherwise you can just relax and enjoy the great service and breakfast. We will definitely be coming back again and again.

We stayed in the Casbah room which included a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. When turning on the water and jets in the tub tons of brown goo came rushing out. We were quite disgusted and of course was not going to use the jacuzzi after that. This made us qurstion the entire cleanliness of the place as a whole. When we mentioned it to the owner they did nothing but offer us a bottle of wine. Our room cost almost $200 for one nights stay and we couldn't even use the main jacuzzi because of the filthiness of it which was the main resin we had rented that room to begin with, and she only offered us a bottle of wine to "make up for our trouble". This alone made me never want to go back to such a place we had pictures to show her what had happened and she did nothing but offer a bottle of wine. Our night was ruined after that incident and now our romantic getaway turned into a disgusting reminder of how dirty and u accommodating this place was!

What a tremendous spot for a relaxing get-away where you can forget about all the ugliness in the world and just take it easy. We met some wonderful folks, some who have become close friends. Our stay at the Inn was very pleasant and relaxing. We stayed in the main house, which is attractive both in and out. Our room was clean and the decor lovely. The grounds are spacious, and there is a very nice swimming pool, much larger than one might expect for a place of this capacity. The Inn is about 40 minutes from midtown Kansas City and a short drive (a couple of miles perhaps) from downtown Excelscior Springs. Beverly the Innkeeper suggested a very nice resuarant for dinner and generally is very welcoming and engaging.

My fiancé and I stayed in the Cottage. We got our own parking space and entrance. Craig greeted us and made sure to give us a tour and explained the amenities as well. The Cottage was very spacious and had everything you could want for a romantic getaway. The sheets were very soft as well as the bed. Our stay at the Cottage also included breakfast delivered to us. It came to us on a tray and the dishes covered. We felt so spoiled! The stuffed French toast was outstanding. I would highly recommend this inn for a wonderful time away from the buzz of the city! -Ashley Boley-

This is a beautiful B&B in close proximity to Kansas City, making it a great weekend get-away! my husband and I stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. The Inn is perfectly maintained and the owners are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is outstanding and the complimentary sodas and fresh baked cookies are a nice touch. There is plenty to do on the property itself, whether it is relaxing by the pool, walking around the property or using the paddle and fishing boats on the lake. The main area of town is within a 5 minute drive and has a lot of cute antique shops and some very good restaurants. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival in the Stripe Room, we celebrated with chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne as part of the Romance Package. Our room overlooked the front lawn. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub all three days. Saturday morning, Craig and Beverly brought a full breakfast to our room, also part of the Romance Package. The food was delicious. We went into Excelsior Springs for the Waterfest one day, and spent another afternoon at the Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site. Four hours from St. Louis, The Inn on Crescent Lake made for a perfect weekend getaway. All staff was friendly and attentive. The owners have a clear vision of what they expect The Inn to be and pay close attention to details in order to achieve that vision.
5 on July 02, 2014
I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Inn with someone, and we were both overwhelmingly happy with our time there. We stayed in the Tuscany room, which is the pool house. The room is beautiful with private access to the pool and hot tub and a private parking space. The room itself comes with a huge kingsize bed, a whirlpool tub made for two, and a shower that is built for two as well. It even comes with a refrigerator, for anything you might want to bring. Or any leftovers from dining in town. (88 at the Elms has gotten much better, I can recommend it now.) The pool is great (didn't try the hot tub). We enjoyed an early morning paddleboat ride on the lake- which is...kinda the least impressive part of the place. It's okay for the view, but it's not fed with any active streams, so it is kinda stagnant. But believe me, it's not a deal breaker at all. The romantic promenade (open walking path) is nice and simple. Easy enough, and not requiring any real hiking. The bugs were kinda bad, but it's Missouri in the summer by a water source. It happens. Though a little grounds treatment would be great, you can keep them at bay with a little spray of OFF. The breakfast is phenomenal. They do a wonderful job preparing a beautiful meal. It's nothing fancy and innovative. But it is delicious and something a little more extravagant than you would probably have normally. Overall- I know I mentioned a couple of places to work on, but those should absolutely not keep you from staying here. It is worth every penny, and I will be returning. The truth is, the room is the real appeal here. The Tuscany is especially nice if you don't want to worry about sound or music. You aren't attached to any other room, so it's nice to be able to crank it up a bit. Beverly and Craaig do a wonderful job making you feel welcome, and whether you stay in the gorgeous historic mansion, or in the two outer houses- you won't be disappointed. Thanks guys!

We arrived on a Friday for a one night stay with Early Check-in. We were greeted by a very kind and polite inn keeper. We then received a tour of the facility and were able to look at the other rooms which were not occupied. After the tour we hiked the trails, then relaxed in the wonderful pool. We stayed in the garden room, very nice with updated features as well as a hot tub. the bed was very comfortable, and probably the nicest linens I'll ever sleep on. The whole facility was very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast the following morning was good, homemade, and filling. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and will most likely stay there again. p

My husband and I recently stayed at the Inn for our babymoon and 4th wedding anniversary. Beverly and Craig are both so friendly and welcoming - They were great. There were multiple other couples there, but we still felt like we had the inn to ourselves the majority of the time. The grounds are beautiful and it feels like you're almost in the Ozarks as opposed to half an hour outside of downtown KC/the plaza. We even drove to the plaza one night for our anniversary dinner. Something to be aware of if you're wanting to do some exploring in Excelsior Springs - Almost everything in their cute downtown area is closed Sunday and Monday. It was a great getaway, and we'll definitely be recommending the Inn on Crescent Lake to friends!

We wanted something off the beaten path, quiet and cozy. The grounds aren't far out of town but they are quiet and secluded. The cottage we stayed in was luxurious, extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were some of the most friendly people I've had the pleasure of encountering. They brought breakfast trays right to our door and came back for them when e were finished eating. The food was clearly a real, cooked meal, not something frozen and reheated. It was wonderful. The stay by far exceeded expectations and was the relaxing getaway we needed. And we didn't have to drive across the state to get there!

This place is magical!! We decided to come here for a mini honeymoon after seeing the gorgeous photos online, but they do not do it justice! The grounds are stunning, they have paddle boats and tons of huge fish! The walking trails are well maintained and end at a sweet point. The pool and hot tub are very nice and well maintained. The Inn itself is stunning, The entryway is very inviting and they have french music serenading you in the living and dining rooms. The bedrooms are luxurious and decorated beautifully and the bathrooms are pristine! We got the romance package and received roses, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and bubble bath. The breakfasts were phenomenal; the first morning we had strawberry cream cheese stuffed french toast with bacon, melon, and strawberry infused syrup. The second morning we have biscuits, sausage, hash browns, and a delicious egg casserole. They were very welcoming and accommodating, but there was plenty of privacy as well. It was so romantic and the perfect place to relax.

We didn't even have to leave the B&B to enjoy relaxing activities such as time in the hammock, pool, hot tub, playing ping pong, board games, or even taking the row boat out on the lake. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I spent an enchanted 17 hours at this wonderful establishment. Craig was a wonderful host giving us a brief tour and history of the Inn. We chose the Tuscany Room and would choose it again in a heartbeat. We also indulged in the "Romance" package and it was well worth it. The chocolate covered strawberries were the best we have ever had and we enjoyed our fill. Breakfast was served in our room, but we elected to enjoy it outdoors on the pool deck. The quiche was delicious. We can't wait until next year when we return to celebrate our love once again.

relaxing long weekend getaway for myself and my wife. Owners and staff are all very helpful and make you feel very welcome. Our room (garden room) was the perfect size and included our own personal Jacuzzi on our private patio. Breakfast was outstanding stuffed french toast on Mothers day. We also enjoyed fishing and watching the wild animals from the Bass Buggy in the pond. Located close to Historic downtown and some fun Wineries if you care to venture out as we did. THANK YOU Beverly and Craig!

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary here. Everything was clean, the food was great and the hosts wonderful. We enjoyed fishing and the boats. If you want a romantic, relaxing place; this is it! Definitely will be back!

I took my wife here and stayed the night of our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We walked around the lake and visited "kissing point", which was Awesome, went out on the paddle boats and the other little boat. Breakfast was Amazing, Beverly and Craig really took care of us!!!

I stayed here on March 28 with my girlfriend, 2 sisters and their husbands, and my brother and his wife. Driving to the parking lot area was impressive enough. Beverly and her staff were so friendly and really made us feel welcome and at home. I love the room with the jacuzzi and slept like a baby after a relaxing dip. The next morning breakfast was incredible and I hated to leave. This is one of best experiences I've ever had at a Bed and Breakfast !!!!!!!

Wonderful place to stay. My first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I don't think I can go back to hotels. Beverly and all the staff were warm and friendly and the attention to detail from the decor to the fragrances let me know they love what they do.

Amazing B&B! The innkeeper Beverly exceeded all expectations! A truly memorable experience and well worth the additional money for special events (my partner surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries and sparking wine on arrival, breakfast in bed, couples' massage, and cheese and rosé [from Beverly's vineyard!]). The estate is gorgeous and created a perfect weekend! We will be back!

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The atmosphere was great and Craig was very informative and friendly. We felt very at home. The inn is clean and the grounds are well kept. We enjoyed our walk around the inn. We also ejoyed a couples massage which was very relaxing. We would highly recommend staying here.

This was our second trip to the Inn on Crescent Lake. First time we went in the summer and really enjoyed the outside amenities. This time we did a quick night away from our five children right in the middle of cold January to break up the monotony of the long winter. We stayed in 'The Garden" room on the first floor with the private hot tub...awesome!! We had the most relaxing and romantic evening. It was just what the doctor ordered. Came home relaxed and reconnected.

Myself and my significant other have stayed here on a couple different occasions and have loved both visits! Looking forward to staying in the summer so we can try out the pool area. :)

We had a a great experience at Inn on Crescent Lake. We stayed in the cottage, and it was beautiful. The service was great. I would recommend this B&B to anyone staying in the Excelsior Springs/KC area.

Oh my goodness! What an awesome place to get away! My husband and I booked this weekend to spend time as a couple without our children...something we hadn't had a chance to do in years! We stayed in the beautiful "The Tuscany Suite" and it was an excellent choice for us! It was secluded near the main home and yet close enough to walk. The room was so beautiful and relaxing. The two-person whirlpool tub was a must have! We are already planning on staying at The Inn on Crescent Lake next year for our anniversary, but for two nights instead of one; I am already counting down the days!

My husband and I chose to stay at the Inn on Crescent Lake for our first year anniversary. The inn is absolutely beautiful! We stayed in the Ballroom, and I would really recommend it. It has a canopy bed, jacuzzi, and a huge bed. I was very impressed with how clean the inn was, and how much privacy we had. The innkeeper was very accommodating and was available 24/7, but made sure to give us privacy. The only part of our stay that I wasn't impressed by was breakfast. I wish they would offer a few choices. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely be returning!

This is my wife and I's third visit to the Inn at Crescent Lake. The first two times we stayed in the Garden room and this last visit 11/16 we stayed in the Tuscany Suite. WOW! Talk about a beautiful room. It was so peaceful and quiet. The jacuzzi tub was fantastic. The bed was comfy, the separate shower, I just can't say enough about the Tuscany! Took a walk to the Kissing Point on the grounds of the property. It was a nice get away. The breakfast is FABULOUS! Will visit again I'm sure!

Beverly and the Inn are amazing! We were greeted so warmly as if we were part of family. The Inn is beautiful and the property tranquil. This is the best escape from Kansas City. Bar none.

Beautiful property and comfortable home!
5 on November 07, 2013
My wife and I are expecting our second child, so the escape to the Inn was a welcome getaway from the daily grind. Though there is little to do in Excelsior Springs during the winter months, the Inn is wonderfully equipped to provide exclusivity to those who wish for some quiet time to themselves, yet it is also only 20-30 minutes from Kansas City providing a multitude of options for the more adventurous. Our hosts were gracious, the grounds exceptional, and we could not have asked for a more relaxing 3 days!

We just stayed at the Cresent Lake Inn and I can't say enough about how great and memorable our stay was. Beverly was amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and was helpful in pointing out things to do in the area! Breakfast was so good and plentiful. We stayed in the Tuscany Suite definitely highly recommended!!! We will be back soon :)

We stayed in the Garden Room for one night and loved the room, quietness, privacy and the private hot tub on our enclosed deck. The breakfast was wonderful as was the hospitality of the owner and lady who served breakfast. There are lots of things to do outside, but we were limited by the weather and short time there. We plan a longer visit in the future.
5 on October 23, 2013
What a beautiful place to stay!!! We stayed in the Garden Room and had a wonderful night sitting in our private hot tub looking up at the stars. This B&B is a great getaway for peace and relaxation The service was great and we will definitely stay there again in the future.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Crescent Lake to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. We stayed for one day/night and very much enjoyed our time. We spent an afternoon walking the trail which followed the lake surrounding the property, as well as enjoying a spacious, clean, decorated suite to relax and feel refreshed in. Paddle boats, a hot tub, a fire pit, refreshments, and more were all provided for our enjoyment. We would recommend this location for anyone who is looking for a quaint and relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of work life or city life, or for anyone who would like a romantic get-a-way.

Our two daughters and their families gave gave us the stay at the Inn for our 50th Anniversary present! It was so enjoyable and relaxing and wish we would have stayed longer. Beautiful home on the most beautiful property. Their hospitality and service was spectacular. This was just our 2nd time ever to stay in a B & B and we will surely go back to this one. It was even more special as our daughters stayed in the Inn as well. So perfect for a family like ours who enjoys celebrating certain special occasions together. Each one of the bedrooms used by the family were very well decorated and relaxing. We also enjoyed congregating together in the evening in the spacious living room, and being able to enjoy breakfast together the next morning.

Half of an hour's drive from Midtown KCMO gets you to Excelsior Springs, and to the Inn on Crescent Lake. Set well away from town, and far back from the road, it's very peaceful. The mansion iteself is gorgeous inside, and well stocked with complimentary drinks/snacks as well as an honor bar. We stayed in the cottage (the old carriage house) and it was well worth the extra cost to be even further separated. They even deliver your breakfast to you. Very pleasant overall, will definitely be going back.

Although we live fairly close to the Inn, our stay was like we had traveled a long way and had found a perfect getaway. The Inn is beautiful. Service is like a 4 star hotel. The food was great, our room was perfect We would recommend it to anyone who want peace and quiet in a beautifl setting

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Creacent lake a few months ago. My parents had given us a "weekend away" certificate last Christmas, allowing us to leave our 1 year old with them so we could have a little time to ourselves. Even though we live jut outside of Excelsior, driving out to Crescent Lake felt like a separate world. It's so peaceful, lush, and green. We loved walking on the path and following the signs to the Kissing Point. It's really not a bad drive to downtown KC, and we were a le to spend the afternoon at the City Market and around downtown, and still have plenty of time to relax at the inn. Breakfast the next morning was served to our room and was absolutely delicious. I loved their stuffed French toast! We appreciated the friendliness and willingness to be so accommodating! Thanks for making our weekend getaway a success!

My wife and I stayed one Saturday night there. My wife got an excellent message and we enjoyed the pool at the Inn. That evening we went to dinner at one of their suggested places and enjoyed a great meal accompanied by a soft piano player in the corner of the room. We woke to a great/delicious breakfast. I highly tecommend the Inn on Crescent Lake as a place to get away for a night for any couple.

My boyfriend and I stayed here Labor Day weekend. We came for some R&R and this place delivered. It was so quiet, and peaceful. Nice walking trail, pool was immaculate. The housekeeping staff was just as friendly. Beverly is such a delightful host as well. We will be visiting again in the future. I have already told many people about this "hidden" beauty in Excelsior Springs

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights of Labor Day weekend. It is a beautiful B & B! The grounds are absolutely wonderful. My wife booked us in the least expensive room and it was nice, clean and comfy but lacked some of the perks of the better rooms. I think next time we'll do one of the more extravagant suites...maybe one with a hot tub! The Inn on Crescent Lake is very romantic and also very relaxing. Plenty to do right on the grounds...paddle boats, fishing, a pool, a romantic walk around the lake and a lovely living room where we spent one evening reading and sipping wine. The wine, by the way, comes from the Delugeau's winery in France and it's excellent! Breakfast is HUGE so wake up hungry!

We have been staying at the Inn since 2009. We go about 3 times a year and have never been disappointed! It is the perfect place to get away for a day of peace and tranquility! Craig and Beverly have made us feel so comfortable that we consider the Inn our "second home". The grounds are beautiful, the rooms comfortable and immaculate, and always a fabulous breakfast in the solarium with the gentle morning sun completes the perfect tranquil stay! Thank you for sharing your little slice of tranquility with us!!

My wife and I spent several days at the Inn for our honeymoon and it was just what we were looking for: quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. We stayed in the pool house for extra privacy and enjoyed being some of only a few guests at the time. The hosts were very friendly and had suggestions and directions to several excellent restaurants in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary-we loved everything about it. It's beautiful, peaceful, and has a great story behind the house and the B&B itself. I loved the fact that there were so many things to do like paddle boats, swimming, hot tub, ping pong, and a place for a romantic stroll. There is much thought that goes into everything about the stay and Beverly and Craig are kind and gracious hosts. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to relax, reconnect, and spend some quality time with the one they love. We hope that we can make this our anniversary spot for years to come.

The Inn on Crescent Lake is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. My husband and I stayed at the Inn to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we enjoyed so many aspects that the Inn has to offer. We walked the grounds and loved the Kissing Point, we lounged on the hammock, admired the lake and swimming pool and greatly enjoyed the scenery both inside and out. The room was fantastically decorated, the sheets were luxurious and the clawfoot bathtub provided another way to escape. The Inn catered to my Celiac disease and made sure that I was able to enjoy breakfast by having one of the local businesses bake fresh gluten free blueberry muffins, it was such a sweet surprise; the personal touches were amazing. My husband and I loved our stay at the Inn so much that we discussed renewing our vows there for our 20th anniversary.

I needed a place for a private, solitary retreat...and this certainly fit the bill! I stayed in The Cottage...and while it was definitely an extravagant luxury for only one person...it was well worth it. Totally private, quiet, peaceful, spacious...true luxury. My breakfast was served in The Cottage, which was just perfect for this particular situation. I've stayed in many, many B&B's across the country, and this is one of the best. I'll be back...and I promised my husband and I'd take him with me next time. :-)

My husband and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary, and wanted a romantic, peaceful place close to Kansas City (where my Mother in Law was keeping our 18 month old son). LOVED this place!! We stayed in the Garden room, and I loved the privacy..private porch, private jacuzzi. Perfect getaway for any couple looking to unwind, recharge and relax. Breakfast was included and so delicious and filling. They have a great DVD library if you want to watch a movie in bed, or card and borad games. I loved lounging by the pool, we felt like kids again using the paddle boats in the pond. The local town was also very quaint and "classic Midwestern". We will definitely be back again.

My wife and I visited the Inn on Crescent Lake for our 10th anniversary, and it was fantastic. The rooms, the amenities, the surroundings, the special options, and the owners are all amazing. The grounds were very well-kept and beautiful. We stayed in The Ballroom, and it was just about perfect. The chocolate-covered strawberries were the absolute best we have ever had. During our trip, we went for a scenic stroll around the property, we went fishing, spent lots of time by the pool, and went into town for dinner each night. I would count this trip among the most restful and relaxing we have ever had. I would highly recommend this place, and I would recommend staying at least two nights to get the most out of it. Well worth it!
4.8 on July 09, 2013
My husband and I were only able to stay for one night, which was not enough time to even scratch the surface of all this inn has to offer. We plan to return as soon as his schedule allows it. We stayed in The Stripe, and it was the perfect blend of Victorian charm and modern elegance. The bathroom was large without being overwhelming, and the small walk-in closet was perfect for modestly changing my clothes and keeping our luggage out of sight. The inn offered us the perfect amount of privacy, and we enjoyed the secluded location that is still a reasonable distance to stores and restaurants. The other couples at the inn were very friendly without being invasive. Beverly is the heart of the inn, and was very sweet when she visited us and the other couples at breakfast. We will be back!
5 on July 08, 2013
This was my second time visiting a Bed and Breakfast and my boyfriends first. After my first experience at different B & B I wasn't quite sure that I was a B & B "person." I was under the impression that they were not very private and were somewhat awkward in general. My boyfriend thought they were not "man-ly" enough for him. GOODNESS GRACIOUS HAVE WE EVER CHANGED OUR MINDS!!! The Inn at Crescent lake exceeded every expectation we could have ever had. Every single wonderful review of this property speaks truth. It is the most romantic, fun, clean, pleasant, beautiful and peaceful place the both of us have ever visited. Craig and Beverly are simply amazing in every way and we cannot thank them enough for everything! The only thing I would encourage anyone visiting the Inn about would be to make sure you stay as long as you possibly can. If you are going back and fourth about whether you want to stay 2 or 3 nights... just plan on staying for 3! If you like to run or walk I suggest you head down Wabash Ave. it is flat and very peaceful. Make sure you bring your fishing poles as well. We had the best time and caught a ton of bass! We also had fun playing catch in the front yard while we waited for our pizza to be delivered. No matter what you like to do... you will find a relaxing, and peaceful spot to do it at the property! Oh, and if you love bread pudding, cheesecake or Riesling wine you have to visit the Ventana Cafe!

Our favorite bed and breakfast! We have stayed at many B&Bs and this one is first class.
5 on July 01, 2013
If you ever want one of the very best in B&Bs you have come to the right place. I had to travel to western Missouri for some short work and decided to take my wife so that we could spend some time together. Searching for a B&B we came across the Inn at Crescent Lake. We had an exceptional time. The rooms were great and well taken care of - we stayed in the McCleary Room but was able to tour most all of the rooms - we were early enough to do so. I asked for the chocolate covered strawberries and roses. The strawberries were the best I have EVER tasted - hand made, simple and flat out awesome. The roses were stunning and perfect. We only stayed for one night which does not do justice if trying to take in all that the estate provides. Beverly, her husband and staff are nothing but kind, gracious and helpful. I live in St Louis but for sure this will not be our last trip to the Inn.
5 on July 01, 2013
We just stayed here for our second time. First time last year for our honeymoon and this year for our first anniversary. You will not find a better place to stay with nicer owners or better or cleaner rooms. The grounds are beautiful and everywhere is so quiet. We left once again relaxed and ready to stay again. We just booked our room for next year and just left yesterday. Tip: Book a couples massage while you are there for even more relaxation.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here recently. We stayed in the Ballroom. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be returning in the future. The property is beautiful, and the room was AMAZING. The owners are so kind, and are there when you need them but give you privacy when you don't. Breakfast was great, too! The only thing I wish was that there had been a mini-fridge in our room. Everything else was perfect, and I would recommend the Inn on Crescent Lake to anyone. Thanks for a great honeymoon!

We chose this bed and breakfast after looking online and trying to find a more unique place to stay for our weekend get away. The Inn on Crescent Lake was the one we chose. We loved the walking path around the lake. The solarium where breakfast was served was cheerful and sunny and made me want one at home. We really enjoyed going into Excelsior Springs and looking around. We discovered there are some great trails to walk/hike in Excelsior Springs. Before leaving we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Beverly and getting to know her. Part of the charm of bed and breakfasts is getting to know the owners and walking away feeling like you have just made a new friend. We had a wonderful time here and would do it again!

We stayed at the Inn on April 25,2013 in the Tuscany. It was fantastic and the weather was great. We went fishing on the lake and enjoyed the fresh air and the turtles. We had fun on the paddle boat. We also enjoyed walking the trail to Kissing Point. The evening was great for the hot tub and enjoying the fire pit which was right outside the room. The Tuscany is a beautiful amazing room, from the Jacuzzi tub to the wonderful sitting area. We enjoyed the romance package with the champagne, roses and chocolate strawberries and a awesome breakfast delivered to the room. It was great and I had a FABULOUS time. I will remember my stay in the Tuscany and how wonderful Beverly and Craig are! YOU ARE FABULOUS! Thank you GayJean

Breakfast was amazing.....every morning! Location is wonderful...not to close to a whole lot of noise(it was SO peaceful and quite) and not too far away from going to town for a date. Such a lovely place for ANYONE and EVERYONE who wants privacy and peace. I hope to go back there someday! I felt like a princess there. Craig and Beverly have such lovely smiles and sweet dispositions This place is excellent. I HIGHLY recommend it. ~ The Gates

My wife and I spent the weekend of April 5-7 in the Tuscany suite. The room was soooo comfortable, well decorated, and exceeded my expectations. The owner, Beverly, is a pleasure to talk to. She was very personable, gracious, and cheerful. We had amazing food during our stay, the couples massage was just amazing, and the atmosphere and environment were very relaxing. We took out a paddleboat, went for a long walk on the property, and had an all around great time. Based on our experience, Beverly's friendliness, and the privacy we enjoyed in our suite, we decided to come back every year. Can't say enough good about this place.

Our visit exceeded my expectations, as we enjoyed quiet time together in our comfortable room. Not only is the Inn beautiful, but our walk on the property was equally impressive. Would recommend the Romance Package for those interested...the chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, and breakfast in bed the next morning, were all fantastic! Many thanks to Beverly and Craig.

We've been to many B&B's all over the world during our 25 year marriage. The Inn on Crescent Lake has to be in our top 5. The Inn itself is simply lovely. The quiet, country grounds tempted us outside to explore even in the dead of winter. I can only imagine how beautiful they'll be this summer. We found three fabulous restaurants, wine shops, lots of antiques, and quirky art shops in historic Excelsior Springs nearby. I highly recommend this Inn!

Quite, clean, charming, great food! I loved the property. But even better than that, we stayed in the poolhouse suite away from the main house. The room is spacious & private! We were also close to the hot tub. You have the option of having breakfast in your room, and the food was delicious. This feels like you are in the country but it's actually not too far from civilization. About an hour from Kansas City.

My hubby and I spent two nights in the Garden Room. The room was located on the main floor. It was very comfortable and spacious. We also enjoyed the private outdoor hot tub for two. This Inn was really amazing! The property and the entire home were beautiful. The owners and the staff were very friendly. The breakfasts were delicious too. I have food restrictions. This was a last minute reservation for us due to weather. Beverly was so great about everything including accommodating my food restrictions. The Inn was also located shortly outside the main downtown of Excelsior Springs. We drove around the town prior to checking in. We wanted to go exploring during our stay but extremely bad winter weather hit the area so we decided to just relax at the Inn. The property looked like an amazing winter wonderland. Our stay was very peaceful and romantic. It was so nice having a chance to unwind. We definitely want to return again someday when the weather is nicer. Many thanks to the owners and the staff for making our stay so memorable and wonderful. Happy Holidays! Lea and Craig H.

Stayed at Tuscany and found it to be secluded, private and very romantic. Excellent accomodations, huge suite, and comfortable bed. Having the jacuzzi in the room was excellent and the bathroom was enormous. While in Excelsior Springs, visit the Hall of Waters and the Paradise Playhouse. Stroll downtown and enjoy the shopping.

This was the perfect place to go to have peace and quiet surrounded by nature and beauty. Me and my fiance came here for a night and did not want to leave, we enjoyed our stay here and are looking forward to many more nights to come. If you are looking to get away and enjoying alone time with a loved one this is the place to be. It was very relaxing, calming, peaceful, and quite. The owners really make it feel as if you are family and at home. Absolutely loved it, best of all it doesn't feel like a hotel!

This was an amazing stay! My husband and I were able to get a re-do honeymoon for a reasonable price and we had a wonderful time.

We did it all! I'm so glad for the early check-in option. It was a surprise 50th bday gift for my husband. We walked the nature path and made use of "kissing point" then shared some of the families French wine as deer passed through. Boarded the paddle boat (with wine in hand) and drifted close to lounging turtles. The peace of God seemed to saturate the land. Then, jumped into the row boat and took turns fumbling around like a couple of goobers laughing and enjoying our break from technology. Made our way to the electric fishing boat and enjoyed wine and cheese watching the sunset. Headed to the beautiful Tuscany room with a private two person jacuzzi. The pool was closed for winter but relaxing in the hot tub with the cool night air and haunted moon was a perfect end to the day. We read the tragic but interestingly compelling and faith filled storyteller of Beverly's life and were so happy to meet her when she delivered our French breakfast. What a talented, positive, out-going and friendly personality. I can't believe this paradise is just outside Kansas City so we plan on sharing the news. What a great place for conferences, weddings, or as a romantic get away! The wine honor bar was a nice touch!

This is a beautiful place and Beverly is incredibly nice and welcoming. Breakfast was superb. The stay was much better than my expectations of a bed and breakfast!! We stayed in the Garden Room and want to go back and try every room!

We chose the Inn on Crescent Lake for a short honeymoon and are thankful that we did. The place is very clean, historic and just as beautiful as the photos. The staff was helpful, but gave us our space. The pool, small lake and walking trails were all nice to have on-site. I accidentally left a bottle of my perfume in our room. I called Beverly and she talked with her staff right away. They mailed the perfume right back to me. I was very impressed at that level of customer service. We plan to return to this B&B for our first anniversary. ~ S and S

My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the Crescent Lake Inn and our stay exceeded our expectations. The Hostess, Beverly was very hospitable and it was clear that she was dedicated to making our stay rememberable. We will definitely return for futures stays.

Four friends (female) stayed here for 3 nights for a little reunion. We had the Carriage House and the Tuscany room in the pool house. I stayed in the Carriage house so will only comment on that. We had everything we needed including comfortable seating for all of us during our gab sessions. The kitchen was all we needed with refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, etc. The bedroom and main bath were on the 2nd floor which we had no problem accessing. There is also a half bath on the main floor. This is a beautiful property and the hosts could not have been more gracious. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Beth K. from Minnesota

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. We felt like we had the whole mansion to ourselves, even though we knew other people were staying there. It was everything you would expect in a bed and breakfast and more. Every expectation we had was exceeded. Incredibly clean, great service, beautiful and romantic rooms, complete privacy, and great food! We loved it! Only issue we had was we bought pizza the second night and there was no mini fridge or microwave to store it or heat it up for later. But for a one night stay, you could not ask for anything better!

My husband and I stayed in the Crescent Suite for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. It is the perfect room for romance, tub soaking and reading. It was very private and quiet. The staff were very kind and helpful. We will definitely spread the word about this bed and breakfast and make a return trip soon!

My husband and I recentlly went to the Inn and stayed in the Tuscany suite. Had a wonderful time, celebrating our anniversary. The suite was in the pool house, so we had our own private area most of the time. The property is gorgeous with a short trail and paddle boats in the pond. Breakfast was fabulous and everyone was super friendly and polite. The nearby town was interesting as well.

We stayed here for a girls gathering. We needed a getaway and this was the perfect place. We laughed, paddled in the boats, dipped in the pool and lounged in the hot tub. The staff was very friendly, Breakfast was delicious! Wish we could have had more time to enjoy it more! Beverly was a true hostess and very personable! Glad we chose this place.

We had a great time here. Everything was just what we were looking for. We stayed in the cottage and really enjoyed the spaciousness and privacy it afforded. Beverly was very friendly. My boyfriend proposed to me at Kissing Point on our first night there. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend and left happy and relaxed!

Beautifil interior of the mansion, beautiful grounds, pool is amazing, very relaxing and private, excellent breakfast and homemade snacks. The "extras" you can pay for are worth it as well - the chocolate covered strawberries are divine, and the dozen roses awaiting in the room were beautiful! Highly recommend this to everyone!
5 on August 11, 2012
Beverly was wonderful and provided a beautiful stay for us to celebrate our anniversary. We spent the day at the pool, walked on the trail, and even got a private tour of the wine cellar! It by far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return time and again.

This B&B was wonderful. Our room was fastidious. The grounds were very relaxing. The breakfast was delicious. Our only regret was not having our swim suits to be able to use the beautiful pool. (Our mistake) Beverly was a very warm and gracious hostess. Will definitely recommend this to our friends, and will plan a return visit ourselves.

Our first visit did not disappoint! The house and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The room was clean and well cared for. And the breakfast was excellent. We've stayed at quite a few B&Bs and we've only had good experiences, but this was the first time we've said, "We HAVE to come back!"

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in a few weeks and wanted to getaway one last time for a mini "Babymoon." I knew we just wanted to relax and not do much, the Inn on Crescent Lake was the perfect place to do just that! We stayed in the Paris room which has an awesome view of the front lawn and pool. I enjoyed the jetted tub while the hubby enjoyed the flatscreen and King size bed. We spent a whole day by the refreshing pool only leaving to get lunch and dinner. (there are some eclectic restaurant choices in/near Excelsior Springs). Breakfast was wonderful and filling! I would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back soon!

My husband booked our anniversary getaway for the Inn at Crescent Lake in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. What a wonderful surprise it was! We stayed at the cottage on the property and it was beautifully decorated with many amenities. They had wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and flowers waiting for us to help us celebrate our 36th anniversary. The grounds are beautiful. We took a quiet paddle boat ride around the lake and also walked the trails. So awesome! The bed at the cottage was very comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty! Beverly, the owner, is very gracious and accomodating. We will most definitely stay there again, hopefully every anniversary!

This was our first stay at the Inn for our First Anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful! I love the owners' story and we also met on Match.com. The Inn is secluded yet has all the modern amenities. The breakfast was super! Thanks to Craig and Beverly.

We have been staying at the Inn for several years, going when we need a day to relax, get away and forget about all the pressure life brings. It has never failed us! Craig and Beverly are the perfect, gracious hosts - there when needed but always respecting time for privacy. The Inn is impectabily kept and the amminities are wonderful. Breakfast has always been delicious! The peace and quiet is priceless!

My husband and I were able to find an inspirational radio station, inspirational tv station, time to pray together, time to read the Bible together, and time to share the joys of marriage with other couples. The best part of our experience was meeting multiple husband and wife couples that we were able to laugh with, discuss the exciting parts of our lives that we look forward to, and take delight in the freedom of being able to experience real intimacy in our marriages as God intended, without guilt and shame and the children God has allowed us to create together. We were really excited to experience our Creator by watching a baby raccoon climb down the tree next to our window, the turtles along the banks of the water, and the "bagworm" that we were so excited about because we thought it was a butterfly coming out of it's cocoon and then matter of factly informed by the man outside of the BBQ non-smoking portion of the town restaurant the truth. We had fun laughing at ourselves and the silly things we experienced together. A great environment overall to re-gain the focus of a relationship.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Inn. Words cannot express the beauty, comfortness, attention to detail, and the excellence we found! It is truely a pearl in the oyster! Excelsior seems like a 'hole in the wall' if you drive through the town, but the Inn on Crescent Lake is a hidden gem. I would have never guessed that a 5 star establishment could be found in such an area! The amenities are all beyond our expectations, the rooms have attention to comfort and detail that we have never seen in a B&B. The wonderful sun room, lake with paddle boats, pool, jacuzzi, and great room were beautiful, and the food was obviously prepared by a super chef!!. Our only fault was that we didn't stay 2 nights to enjoy everything! Thanks for the lifetime of wonderful memories, Beverly! (owner)

My husband and I got away for our anniversary to The Inn at Crescent Lake. The entire experience was wonderful--lovely room, comfortable bed, beautiful grounds, & scrumptious breakfasts. Beverly, the innkeeper, also gave outstanding recommendations for eating out as well--Van Till Farm & Winery & Willow Mercantile. The entire weekend was very memorable and we look forward to visiting the inn again.

My husband and I just returned from our second stay at The Inn on Crescent Lake. Both stays we're perfect. We have stayed in both The Tuscany Suite and The Cottage. Both are beautiful and we are looking forward to staying in one of the mansion rooms on our next visit. The grounds are peaceful and gorgeous! My husband and I enjoyed swimming, fishing and taking the paddle boat and row boat out on the lake. The food is delicious and the innkeepers are extremely kind and helpful!

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs and I have to say this is our new favorite. We stayed in the Ballroom suite and it was beautiful. There were complimentary cookies, soda, coffee, tea, water, hot choc. and granola bars. We purchased a bottle of wine from a nice selection. The bed was very comfortable. This Inn also has magazines in the solarium and movies in the front hall. We also enjoyed the music/CDs in our room by the stereo. We brought our kindle fire thinking we would use the free wi-fi, but enjoyed the room so much we never thought about getting online. Walking trail was fun - we saw deer hoof prints on the path. Would have loved to spend 2 days so we could fit in the pool, hot tub and paddle boats :)

We stayed here for one night to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. It was so quiet and peaceful. Everything was so nice and the owners are great. Very friendly and willing to do whatever to make sure our stay was perfect. We wish that we would have stayed more than one might. We will definitely be going back for another stay!

Our stay at the inn was awesome with beautiful scenery and amazing breakfasts. Craig and Beverly are wonderful hosts and our room , the Crescent, at the top of the house, was peaceful and quiet. Great getaway!
5 on June 08, 2012
The grounds/rooms very clean and inviting with personal photographs and photo albums scattered about. Very personal attention from innkeeper, as well as other staff. Delicious breakfasts. A problem with the room that was just an unforseen maintenance issue was resolved by a move to another room, a gift certificate for a return visit, a bottle of wine, and too many apologies. Their effort to ensure our satisfaction was genuine.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary and loved it! We took the last available room but it never seemed packed or busy, in fact we only saw 1 other couple. My husband and I visited the Inn on our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it is an older property, it is very clean inside and outside, including the well manicured lawn, garden, etc. We stayed for one night in the Paris Room, and loved it. The room was immaculately clean. No dust anywhere. Every detail of the room represented something in Paris. The breakfast was absolutely scrumptous! We ate slowly just to prolong the food.. .that's how good it was. We paid for the romance package which added a nice touch to our room and celebration and having breakfast delivered to the room was nice too. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, walking trail to the kissing point, ping pong. Next time we go we will make sure to do the paddle boats and the massage.Although all 10 rooms were occupied the weekend we stayed (5-19-2012and 5-20-2012) we only saw a few guests and no one disturbed anyone or got in the way at all. Everyone still enjoyed their privacy. We recommend this bed and breakfast. The service was great and the innkeeper, Beverly, is so graciously warm and inviting. It's like the staff was available yet invisible. They truly respected the guests privacy. One note to keep in mind. . .in downtown Excelsior, where most of the restaurants and shops are located, they close early on a Saturday evening/night and on Sunday most of them don't even open. It would be nice if the City of Excelsior really vamp up the tourism component of their city since most people who visit are tourists. There are a few things to do outside the Inn, like Wabash Barbeque Live Music Concerts, but not a lot. Still with this, we plan to return to the Inn at Crescent Lake!

My girlfriend and I loved the Inn! The owners are very nice and try very hard to make your stay enjoyable. The lodge is warm and inviting with rooms set up in different themes - which made it fairly hard for me to pick out which room to reserve - but that's a good thing! we were on my motorcycle and it rained out our plans for dinner. We bought a bottle of the owner's family wine, ordered in a pizza, and watched a romantic movie from their collection of DVDs. Made the very best of a bad situation. My GF and I both had a great time and will definitely be back in the future!

My husband and I went to Inn on Crescent Lake this past weekend and it was truly amazing. Not only was the staff polite but the rooms were comfortable and extremely clean. The ambiance of the entire property was so relaxing and welcoming. Everything felt as though Beverly put her passion into making it as tranquil as possible. Even the soaps and linens smell wonderful. The food was awesome and I'm going to miss walking around the lake every morning after breakfast. We can't wait to visit the Inn on Crescent Lake in the future.

I have nothing but love to say about this wonderful B&B. My husband and I just returned from our second stay at the Inn on Crescent Lake. The Inn is very well maintained and everything is immaculately clean. The gorgeous well manicured grounds are so beautiful and provide an oasis from the crazy pace of regular life. Take an early morning walk on the small path behind the mansion and you might get a glimpse of a deer coming out from the small wooded area. My husband and I saw deer, blue herons, a wild turkey as well as many varieties of birds from the sitting area outside of our garden room. The breakfast that is included with a night's stay is very delicious and extremely well done. We were served quiche with bacon and muffins and very tasty stuffed french toast with sausage and melons. This was no continental breakfast that you get at hotel chains. The atmosphere of the Inn is so inviting and elegant but still homey and comfortable. I can't say enough good things. We had two wonderful visits and wouldn't hesitate to return over and over again.

.....is all she could mouth as we pulled into the drive. I surprised my girlfriend with a night at the Inn on Crescent Lake for Valentines. She had no idea where we were going. Obviously the view from the road at night is amazing. Walking in the front door was just as good. Everything is very organized & very clean. We stayed in the "Ballroom". It's on the third floor but only two rooms on that floor (more privacy) made it worth the trip up the stairs. What an amazing room! Canopy bed, reading area with fireplace, huge bathroom. The bathtub fits two very comfortably. I ordered the "Romance Package" which was well worth the cost. Sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries, & breakfast served in our room. Unfortunately(?) we didn't get out of the room to see any of the other great features of the Inn other than a swift walk around the Mansion before leaving in the morning. We can't wait to return when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the pool & grounds. What a great place. I will recommend this place to everyone.

I took my wife here for Valentines Day and her birthday. Had never heard of this B&B borfore. Simply searched Google with Valentines Day ideas in Missouri and found the Inn. I have never been a big fan of B&B's, but this has the homely feeling of a B&B and the privacy and luxury of a 5 star hotel! All of the luxuries and amenities you could ever want. We will definitely be coming back here to stay in some of the different rooms that we were able to tour while here.

This was by far, the most relaxing & romantic weekend getaway anyone could ask for! My boyfriend I stayed in the garden room, with our own private entrance & our own outdoor hot tub! We now recommend the Outposte Grill if you're the outdoorsy-woodsy beer drinkin kind! We had everything needed to have a great night. Next time we go, we definitely know that we need to stay for 2 evenings...one evening just wasn't enough!

My wife and I needed some time away from all the stress of daily living. If you're looking for a getaway, this is your place! We stayed in the Cottage. It was wonderful!!!! With the Cottage being set apart from the mansion, it was very private. When staying in the Cottage, they deliver your breakfast to the cottage if you'd like. Breakfast was very good(full plate of food). We also enjoyed a great couples massage, in a very comfortable room. They recomend the Ventana Gourmet Grill, which I now recomend. Put all of this together and it was the best weekend getaway my wife and I have had!

We found the Inn at Crescent Lake while searching the internet for a B&B in the Greater KC area, We are very glad that we chose to stay here instead of the other choices. The Inn is magnificent and well kept. Beautifully light up at night and very easy to access. Beverly, the hostess of the Inn is very hospitable and very talented. My Wife and I look forward to spending more time at the Inn as occasion permits.

My husband and I stayed in the Cottage for our Anniversary getaway for the weekend. It was beautifully decorated and very cozy. We truly enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the wonderful views of the property. We took a walk around the Crescent Lake to the Kissing Point. The Inn itself is kept in immaculate condition-not even a missing brick! One thing we appreciated was the complete privacy. We have stayed a several B&B's where the Innkeeper lingered longer than we would have liked, but at The Inn on Crescent Lake, Beverly shoewed us to our cottage and then gave us total privacy! This place would be perfect for a wedding...which we are keeping in mind for our 4 daughters! We will definitely visit this B&B again!

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, warm and inviting, gorgeous home and grounds, impecably decorated. We got the honeymoon package. Our vase of roses were so incredibly fresh and perfect that I had trouble convincing my new husband that they were even real! GIANT chocolate covered strawberries were fresh and juicy. The inn is cleaner than clean, and even the linens and towels had a wonderful fresh, clean, but not-too-sweet smell to them. There was always complimentary hot chocolate, soda, and snacks available. This inn is just awesome and we intend on going back often. Beverly Delugeau has exquisite taste in decorating and knows how to run her business. I have absolutely no complaints and only the highest praise for this establishment.

I spent the weekend at Inn on Crescent Lake and I could not have been happier with my stay. We stayed 1 night for my anniversary and we were beyond satisfied with our experience. You can tell that all of the employees really care about the bed and breakfast because nothing has been overlooked. Also, we have stayed in three different rooms, all wonderful. Not only is it a beautiful Inn, with beautiful rrooms and grounds, but the Beverly and her staff are welcoming, warm, firendly, and provide great personal service. We stayed for our 4th Anniversary. We fell in love with this property even before we were married. The Inn is such a beautiful and historic home, you'll certainly fall in love with its charm as well. My only complaint this time was that the bed was extremely firm in the Casbah Room, so we didn't sleep well. The service is very friendly and attentive. Your room includes free snacks and sodas, as well as an honor bar stocked with Bud Light/Mich Ultra and imported French wines. We enjoyed coming back so we could explore the property without all the bustle of a wedding. We took the paddleboat out on the pond, sat by the fire pit and talked, and simply marveled at this great property. Highly recommended.

My husband and I just wed last Saturday, and wanted a mini-honeymoon near KC as we are going out of the country in the winter. I had happened upon the website for the Inn on Crescent Lake a few years ago and had always wanted to visit, but time had slipped away. We decided to book four nights, sight unseen, for our local honeymoon. Although we arrived late, Beverly the innkeeper greeted us with her warm hospitality and went over a few details about the inn. We had booked the Carriage House, which offered absolute luxury and maximum romance and solitude. Wow! The romance package included chocolate-dipped strawberries, a bottle of excellent Spanish Cave, and red roses. From the moment we arrived at this beautiful location, the intense stress of hosting a wedding out of town (we are not from KC, but rather used it as a good central location for family from all corners of the US and several from abroad) and dealing with family and about a thousand last-minute emergencies started to evaporate. We loved stargazing from the hot tub, bathing in our private jacuzzi, and the breakfast in bed. The lake was so much fun to paddle around! Although I didn't try my hand at fishing, my husband spent a nice afternoon doing this while I read in the hammock. I cannot say enough about how absolutely delightful this true treasure is- the photos online are practically a disservice to the inn. If you want romance and beauty, definitely stay here!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding annivesary at The Inn on Crescent Lake. It was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The entire place was beautiful and the pool was great. The staff was very friendly and the breakfasts were fabulous. We enjoyed walking on the nature trail and saw several deer while we were out. We also enjoyed sitting in the great room and looking through all of the photo albums. We are planning on spending every anniversary at the Inn from now on. It was such a relaxing weekend. We didn't want it to come to an end.

We chose the Ballroom suite for our anniversary celebration and it was so perfect that we really didn't want to leave it. Pictures give only a slight idea of how special this room is but we did see other rooms that were not being utilized at that time and they were all quite unique and extremely well maintained. The food was wonderful and the walking trail along with the staff and Beverly was a great extra. They go out of their way to make your time special. We will be back!

I just surprised my husband by bringing him here for our anniversary. I wanted someplace peaceful where I could get away but I also wanted something he would enjoy - FISHING! Just the two of us...we went fishing, went out to dinner at a local joint, and sat under the stars and listened to the fire crack in the fire pit. The room we stayed in was perfect. Cozy, quiet, comfortable. Then breakfast was to die for!! We were both completly relaxed and rejuvinated when we left. Just left yesterday, and we're already planning our next visit!! Thank You Beverly!!

My wife & I had the most wonderful stay at the Inn at Crescent Lakes. We immediately felt more like friends that were visiting as opposed to mere patrons. I have a highly intensive job and was able to immediately "disconnect" and focus on my wife as we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. The property is secluded and very well cared for. We personally enjoyed the trails, lake, ping pong table and getting to know Beverly as she is a wonderful hostess. The inn is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. The lounge areas were very comfortable and relaxing. Our only disappointment was that we could only stay one night. Stay here. It will not disappoint.

We spent two nights for our thirtieth wedding anniversary and thought it was wonderful. Beverly, the owner, is a pure delight. The rooms were sparkling clean, the cleanest of any rooms anywhere we've ever stayed. The breakfasts were yummy, and the service and hosjpitality were unsurpassed. The grounds are well kept and very peaceful. We added the anniversary package on to our room, and were very impressed with the quality of what we received. We would stay again in a heartbeat, and have put it on our "to do again" list. We've highly recommended it to everyone we've talked to since we've been home.

The property was BEAUTIFUL! We only stayed one night, but wished we could stay longer, we had so much fun with the paddle boats, outdoor ping pong table and swimming pool! Our room was GORGEOUS and HUGE and the whirlpool tub was to die for! They have a stocked fridge of complimentary sodas which was great and suggested a WONDERFUL restaurant to us, though the directions to it were a little hard to follow, it was well worth it! We enjoyed the quiet, since the inn was a bit off the beaten path, but not too far, because town was nearby with all the conveniences we needed. But, the BEST part had to be our breakfast! Beverly love and passion comes out in her homemade breakfast, whether served in the massion or your room. She is the definition of hospitality. You will enjoy any of the variety of rooms. We had the pool house and loved being so close to the well maintained pool. The first afternoon there, we saw a deer run across the beautiful property.

We had a another wonderful stay at this most beautiful Inn. We wish however that Smoking would be prohibited within the gated swimming/hottub area. This is also where the Spa and outdoor firepit are. Sadly guests who don't smoke or are allergic to smoke cannot always enjoy all these anemities if others are smoking. A simple sign would suffice. It is private property and smoking can be prohibited to only designated areas outside by the Innkeeper.

My husband and I stayed at the inn to celebrate our anniversary. It was a wonderful time. We stayed in the Garden Room, which had a private entrance and porch. It was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed a very romantic evening. The pool and grounds were very nice and well maintained. Beverly was a great hostess and made us feel very welcome while respecting our privacy. We stayed one evening which really was not enough time. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the Inn to all my friends and family.

My wife and I loved the fact that we were away from home but not too far. The Tuscany was a beautiful room away from the main house, which we enjoyed as well. The pool was great and well maintained. We wanted to use the hot tub, but it appeared to be overheated; no biggie. The in room whirlpool was extremely nice and very romantic. The Anniversary Package that I suprised my wife with was money well spent. The flowers were gorgeous, the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne were delicious. The breakfast in bed was good but too fancy for my taste (I'm just an old country boy; eggs, bacon and pancakes would suffice). We would definitely stay at the Inn again, probably for our anniversary next year!

My wife and I were attending my nephew's wedding in Excelsior Springs and looked at another hotel where the wedding party had reserved rooms. We decided not to reserve at that hotel due to past bad experience and reviews on the internet. We saw the Inn and decided to stay there. Needless to say, we had a wonderful experience and will be back to the property. The ambience, the decor, the personal attention and the true love story that Beverly experienced added to the warm atmosphere.

My husband and I stayed here at the invitation of our daughter and her husband. They had stayed here for their honeymoon and fell in love with it! We stayed in the Garden room and it was very relaxing and private, with it's own entrance and hot tub. We enjoyed the pool, ping pong table, walking the grounds and visiting with Beverly and her daughter. Beverly is the ultimate hostess with her bubbly and inviting personality. Snacks and beverages are offered 24 hours a day and wine from their family winery in France available for purchase. The food was delicious, also. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and will definitely go back!

My husband and I went to the Inn on Crescent Lake to reconnect and have some time to ourselves after a long military deployment. This was the perfect place! There is plenty of peace and quiet. The grounds are beautiful with enough outdoor activities to enjoy until you are ready to retreat to the sanctuary of your room. The innkeeper is friendly and welcoming. To enjoy your retreat more, book for more than one night- one night goes too fast! We will definitely return!

What a beautiful, relaxing to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. The Garden room was a perfect place for us to spend time away from everyday life and rejuvenate ourselves. We spend an entire afternoon down by the pool reading and cooling off. We will definitely be returning some day and will tell all of our friends that they should visit the Inn too. Thank you Beverly for such a wonderful two days.
5 on August 04, 2011
My wife Felicia and I stayed here for one night, and it wasn't enough...We will definitely return. You will not find a better place to offer you a quiet, romantic escape from everyday life. From being able to quietly enjoy time in your room, to a charming rowboat on Crescent Lake, to the excellent service and professionalism Beverly provides.. You will be glad to stay at the Inn, and pleased with each and every moment you have there. The best aspect is the feeling of privacy you receive from the Innkeeper, with assurance that whatever you need is at your fingertips. Truly the way a Bed and Breakfast should be, with a definite French flair. Exceptional! -Ryan Kuse

We had a very relaxing time. The grounds were beautiful, there was plenty to do, and even though the inn was full it seemed very private. Our room (Crescent Suite) was gorgeous and very nice. Thanks!

My hubby and I stayed in the Crescent Suite for two nights to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary, and we LOVED it. The king-sized bed, jacuzzi tub, and fireplace were fantastic. All the little touches at the inn and in our room like the music and overall atmosphere made the Inn on Crescent Lake perfect for our romantic getaway. We also enjoyed a fabulous couples massage and lounging in the pool. Plus, Beverly's suggestions for dining and wine tasting were a nice touch. Their attention to detail is very impressive.

This is our second time to stay at Inn at Crescent Lake. First time we stayed in The Paris Room, this time we were in the Stripe Room. It is a beautiful place and very restful and relaxing. The staff are superb and make you feel so at home. We enjoy walking around, and also the swimming pool was wonderful, even though it was about 100 degrees out when we were there! We will definitely go back again and try out a different room.

My husband and I needed a break from the grind of the city and found the perfect retreat at the Inn on Crescent Lake, just one hour's drive from Leawood. Each of the guest suites is uniquely different but all of them are very elegant and impeccably appointed. We enjoyed sitting in the solarium playing UNO for hours, exploring the trails and paddling on the peaceful lake surrounding the property. The bed was very comfortable, and the complimentary gourmet breakfasts were amazing. We stayed two nights but wished we could've stayed much longer. We hope to be able to return every couple of months - it'll be interesting to see how the property looks with every changing season. Beverly, her daughter Leah, and the rest of the staff made us feel completely welcome and at home. Of all the roadtrips we've taken in the area since we moved to KC six years ago (Hermann, Lexington, Weston, St. Louis and others), this was by far the best. The Inn also boasts a fabulous wine cellar with wines from the family vineyard in France. We can't wait to return to our new home away from home.

This was our fourth visit in as many years. We love it and have booked a second trip this summer. The owner and her daughter make you feel like family. The elegant rooms are spotless and breakfast was delicious. So relaxing. We live within two hours of the Inn on Crescent Lake and a weekend here feels like a vacation and a respite. The pool is the icing on the cake in the heat of Midwestern summers.

This was our first B&B stay. My husband was very reluctant to go to any B&B because he had spent one third our married life on the road in motels as a salesman. However, our daughter and her husband recommended we go the Inn on Crescent Lake for our 39th wedding anniversary. We did and it was better than we could have ever expected. Beverly is energetic, out-going and so enthusiastic that she was a joy to be around. The pool was wonderful, the room, Casbah, was beautiful, and the breakfasts were delicious. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent our 3rd anniversary weekend at the Inn on Crescent Lake. We stayed in the Tuscany Suite located next to the pool. This room was private, quiet, & modern. Breakfast was delicous & service was excellent. Leah was attentive to our needs. The pool was clean and well kept. We spent our afternoons relaxing in the sun next to the pool. We recommend the Inn at Crescent Lake to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend.

I very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage last night... the pool, ping pong, fishing, boating, and the delightful walk around Cresent Lake were just part of the enjoyments we experienced. We loved breakfast too! Your open kindness in chatting with us and, showing us around the house, have already got us planning our next amazing visit. We are thinking the pool house next....but the cottage may just have our hearts. Thank you again. Your good energy abounds!

My wife and I were looking for the perfect Kansas City B&B to spend our anniversary at and we found it. The Inn on Crescent Lake is accommodating and has all the amenities of any hotel. The travel to the Inn provided a good time for communication and we found the accommodations to be first class. Our room decor and scent (maple odor overkill) left a little to be desired but overall had a top-notch experience. Breakfast was great and we're going to recommend it everyone in Kansas City!

My husband and I have stayed here for both second and first wedding anniversaries. We stayed in the cottage both times, which is separate from the main house, so don't have any info on the rooms in the main house. The cottage is amazing! Very private, beautiful room. The grounds are great and very well kept. The pool and spa are very nice and also very well kept. We have been to many bed and breakfasts and this is our favorite, easily.

The Inn on Crescent Lake is a great historic property. My husband & I both enjoyed our weekend & will definitely return. Oh, and the breakfasts are DELICIOUS!!! Don't go to a B&B with nothing to do but sit in the room--go to the Inn, where you can walk around, enjoy the ponds & swim in the pool. Great place!
5 on June 16, 2011
Oh how amazing is this Inn! It took our breath away as we pulled up and the feeling never left. I have been to many B&Bs and the place is one part but also the innkeepers make or break a place. Well, if you just go to meet Beverly, that is something you need to do. She is a wonderful caring and generous person! Her smile gets you from the moment you se her! Thank you for such a restful time!

This was the first bed and breakfast my husband and I have stayed at, it was fabulous! If offers so many things to do, we enjoyed the fishing, swimming, paddle boats, trails, and hot tub. The hospitality was great and the old fashioned decor of the home was beautiful. I highly recommend this Inn.

My husband and I made an effort this year to actually do something for our wedding anniversary so after much browsing, we chose the Inn on Crescent Lake due to the great reviews and being so close from home (only 1 hour from Olathe, KS where we live). We had one of the most relaxing weekends - filled with the simple pleasures such as walking and talking surrounded by nature, paddle boating in the crescent lake around the B&B, relaxing in the jacuzzi and the pool, and enjoying a bottle of wine together every night. We had deep and hilarious conversations together and we left closer as a couple than when we checked in. Another point that is a must to mention is the Innkeeper's immaculate attention to detail to ensure guests have a great time. 1) There are always complimentary fresh cookies and sodas available; 2) the sunroom is even more relaxing as there is a water fountain in it giving that relaxing sound of water as you sit in comfortable chairs while surrounded by dozens of choices of magazines and books to read; 3)the pool has complimentary floats; 4) the rooms come with a CD stereo and romantic and relaxing CDs (think Diana Krall); 5) there is a DVD complimentary library if you want to stay in and enjoy a movie; 6) the bathroom even comes with complimentary q-tips and cotton balls (which I always forget to pack on vacation); 7) there are always chilled and handpicked wines and beers in their honor bar - you pay when you check out. If you want to have a weekend getaway close to home, this is a splendid choice. We plan on going back many more times!

The Inn and its surrounding 22acres were beautiful! Very relaxing, and peaceful for a much needed get away! The staff was great. Expected a bit different breakfast than what was served, but absolutely loved it here and hope to come again when warmer and enjoy the pool! The "Cottage" was great and a would like to stay in it again too!

The staff was very friendly, but not invasive, and were available 24/7. The house is on beautiful property, surrounded by a lake! The lake was a perfect place for my husband to go fishing, while the hot tub was just as relaxing for me! I would definitely recommend this wonderful bed and breakfast.

This was our first stay at a B&B, and I must say that overall, we were thrilled with the stay! The a/c did break down in our room, and management quickly offered to remedy the situation by moving us to another room. We opted to remain in the room because it was supposed to be cool that evening, but were a little disappointed to find that none of the windows would open, so we could not get fresh air in the room, and it did get quite stuffy by morning. But other than that, the stay was awesome and the establishment was phenomenal. We definitely recommend this B&B, and we will certainly be back for a future visit!

Stayed here for our 20th anniversary. Greeted first night by Leah, she showed us around and gave us suggestions for dinner. Both mornings began with an amazing breakfast. Loved the peacefulness of the grounds and the cottage. Really felt pampered and relaxed. Grounds beautiful, everything clean, loved the paddle boats. A much needed ahhhh moment. Thanks to Crescent Inn, Beverly and Leah.

My husband and I are very busy with 4 kids, I work 2 jobs-one in which is a licensed childcare, and of course we are busy with many extracurricular activities. For our anniversary we wanted to stay someplace quiet, romantic, and different. We had never stayed at a B&B, we had preconceived notions that they were all very "Granny-ish" and "Quilty". But, I kept looking and found the Inn. I will admit I was worried when we drove into the town that the Inn was located, it seemed a bit dim but after calling for further directions and driving up to it all my worries sunk and our first thoughts were "Thank GOD!" It was beautiful, gated and away from the "town". Beverly greeted us warmly and gave us a tour and checked us into our room. We stayed in the Tuscany Room. We loved it! Beautiful, tasteful, quiet. Exactly what we wanted. Beverly had to go out of town the next day, but her daughter took great care of us. Both very sweet! The breakfast was awesome as well. We didn't get a chance to fish or use the boats, but we plan on doing that the next time! We also visited a few of the wineries, and we were first timers at this also. We discovered that we enjoyed learning about the wines and have something new to do together. We didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back. My husband said that out of all the hotels and vacations we have taken, that this was by far the most relaxing, and romantic getaway. We are hoping to make another visit soon. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend!

Christina greeted us with a tour of the estate including the DVD and game collection available to all guests, the complementary drinks and snacks and the pond with rowboats (how romantic is that!?) the walking paths and the rest of the 22+ acre estate. We stayed in the Garden Room which I would highly recommend because the room has a private deck complete with private hot tub. My husband and I went into town to Ventana for dinner which was amazing in itself. Upon returning to the estate we relaxed in our hot tub, stayed up for hours and rediscovered what we needed to make our marriage that much stronger. Breakfast the next morning was amazing. Not only that, we were greeted at the front door by owner, Beverly, who took the time to chat with us for awhile as well. After breakfast we took a tour of the rest of the house (our room had a private entrance so we had yet to really see the 8 room mansion) and I found so many other rooms I want to stay in! We will definitely return within the next couple months, as it was one of the best experiences for us. I would HIGHLY recommend the Inn on Crescent Lake to anybody!!

While looking at a site for another place to celebrate, I found alot of "bad" reviews for that particular place to stay. I then proceeded to check out the bed and breakfast in the area and ran across the Inn on Crescent Lake. While the website was informative it did not allow me to check availability for the same night. I then called the Inn and spoke with Leah. What a delightful person. So personable and friendly. We booked the Paris room over the phone. She said I could call if we were going to be later than 7 to check in. We actually stopped there on our way to a celebration dinner and since we were the first ones to arrive we got a tour of the other rooms. The website just does not do the Inn justice. We upgraded our reservation to the ballroom. Wow! What a nice place...so easy to upgrade with no hassles. We booked the original room (Paris) for the next night because our room was already reserved for someone else. When we were ready to check in to that room (after an amazing breakfast of banana split french toast) we were again offered a tour of the grounds and the pool room which the couple had just cancelled.... we snapped it right up. Their loss was our gain! Wow....Leah gave us some information about a little place called Willow Mercantile on Broadway... the wine dinner was just what we needed to top off our celebration. They were very knowledgable about the wine and the food was wonderful... Needless to say, I believe that the Inn on Crescent Lake will be a top memory for us, and I would love to stay there again. I have already recommended it to several of my co-workers. Thank you Leah and staff for making this a truely memorable weekend for us.

If you are in the Kansas City area this is a great place to stay. A little secleded and a wonderful value. I think this would be charming in the spring and summer when you can use the paddle boats or walk the property.

My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary, our 10 year anniversary, and her turning the big "four Oh" here. We feel it is the best Bed and Breakfast in Kansas City. Beverly and her daughter are amazing people who make you feel welcome and have a servant attitude. The property is outstanding on the outside, the grounds, and the inside and the overall setting is unique to K.C. You will love this place!

We have been to the inn several times and love it. This time most of the rooms we really like were full, but we found one that looked ok. It was a little smaller than we anticipated, and not quite as comfortable as some of the others we have been in. There was also some food left in a top drawer. We will go back as this is the best B&B in the Kansas City area that we have found. We truly love going there.

The owner has the kindest heart upgrading our room to the Ballroom since we were the only ones staying at the Inn. Originally we were going to stay in the Garden room, but decided to stay in the biggest room since we could :) All rooms were beautiful, clean, and very peaceful! Definitely would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone and will be planning to come back soon :) Oh, and the breakfast was amazing! We feel like we could not have picked a better place to stay!

My wife and I, after the stressful process that is a wedding, decided that we needed to get away to some peace and quiet. I don't think that we could have found a better place!. We stayed in the Cabana suite, which is just immaculate. The pro's: The innkeeper Beverly is a friendly, wonderful host. The wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. The Massage was a bit pricey, but was definitely worth the money. The hot tub heat was adjustable and was positioned in a beautiful spot. Very secluded and peaceful. You are allowed to tour all of the open rooms (and I suggest you do!). They are all very quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, although some of the items were a little exotic for my taste. The bed was on the firm side, but I enjoy a more firm bed so it was perfect for me. Cons: The maid left a bar of used soap from the previous guests that stayed in our suite. I'm also a poor college student, so the rates were a bit high for me. But I guess you'll get that with any high quality establishment. In all, this was an absolutely remarkable bed and breakfast. My wife and I plan on coming back as often as our budget allows!

I loved both rooms and it made getting ready for our evening out simply delightful. We used the jacuzzi tub a few times. I would recommend bringing cds with you as there is a cd player in the room. All in all we had a fabulous stay! The breakfast was great. Definitely a gorgeous place to go. We chose the Inn on Crescent Lake for our honeymoon after hours of searcing online. It was wonderful. Beverly and Patrick were fantastic. They were friendly and welcoming, willing to offer suggestions for dinner, wineries, downtown attractions, etc. They were helpful and available when we needed them, but we had plenty of privacy. Breakfast was always beautifully made and delicious, served in the sunroom which is perfect. Chocolate chip cookies were always available and they had a selection of snacks and even wine if you didn't want to get out to buy something. They have a nice pool, ping pong, hiking, paddle boat, and peace and quite. We are hoping to return for our anniversary. We would recommend this place to anyone!

It was very beautiful scenery and we plan on returning in the summer so we can fish, paddleboat, and swim in the pool! Our room was very clean and accomodating. We will return and recommend that others attend these special events as well.

Inn on Crescent Lake is a beautiful Bed in Breakfast! This was our first stay at a Bed in Breakfast and we loved it! We stayed in the Cabana Suite. It has a jacuzzi in the room along with a walk in shower, mini fridge, and king size bed. Right outside the rooms was the pool and to the right of the house was the hot tub and spa. We were here during the winter so were not bothered by people swimming in the pool or other people joining us in the hot tub! The Inn was quite and very elegant and romantic. It was the perfect getaway for us to relax and spend time with each other. Beverly checked us in and showed us around. She was very nice and welcoming. Christine made breakfast for us which was Carmel Apple Pancakes and Bacon which was outstanding and very delicious. This Inn is going to be a place my husband and I will definitely return to again!

My husband and I visited the Inn on Crescent Lake to celebrate our anniversary. We chose to stay in The Cottage located in the old carriage house on the property. Our rooms were charming, clean, and very comfortable. We were quite happy with the ammenities offered by the Inn including videos, games, and free snacks and sodas. We also ordered the Anniversary Package as part of our stay and were impressed with the quality of the flowers, champagne, etc. included in the package. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful but did not intrude on our privacy in any way. As part of our package we had the option of eating breakfast in The Cottage which we chose to do. A delicious breakfast of French toast, bacon, spiced apples, juice and coffee was delivered to our room promptly at the chosen time. The night we visited the Inn the area received 3-4 inches of snow, and we were very impressed with how quickly and efficiently the staff handled snow removal from their driveway and major walkways. We would highly recommend the Inn on Crescent Lake for a relaxing, romantic get-away.

This was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. We had the Crescent room which was a cozy room, but the ceilings were really low for us tall people. The bed was really hard, and not much room in the bathroom (no place to put our things--a little inconvenient. The food was really good and people very friendly and helpful. Our children got this for us for our 40th Anniversary, so they didn't know what the rooms were like for us. We did enjoy it and would certainly go back.

The Inn on Crescent Lake is a lovely bed and breakfast. The rooms were quiet, cozy and clean. We stayed in the Striped Room, and we were very pleased. Breakfast was delicious, and we were sad to leave. I would highly recommend this for a quiet relaxing get-a-way.

Arriving at this Inn is like entering another world - one with old-world charm, peaceful settings, and stress-free relaxation! The innkeepers are so friendly and eager to make your stay comfortable and satisfying. We recommend it to anyone looking for a special evening or weekly vacation away from the hectic world of reality. It's a hard place to leave!

My wife and I recently stayed here on our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The Cabana Suite was wonderful, even in January, and the breakfast was amazing each day. The property was very nice and accomodations were wonderful. We would consider going back in the summer when we can enjoy the lake, pool, fishing, etc...

The Inn at Crescent Lake by far exceeded all of my expectations. I spent my honeymoon in the Cabana Room and I can say the memory will stay with my wife and I for years to come. In fact, we plan on returning for our anniversaries. Beverly, our host, was extremely accommodating and made sure that all of our requests were met. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, and of course, the jacuzzi bath, made this something I highly recommend to others.

We stayed around Christmas and the place was nearly empty. But we enjoyed the solitude and the service was top notch. The staff was extremely friendly too! The room looked just like the pictures and was very nice. Our only complaint was the bed was a little firm. We would definitely go there again...maybe in the summer when we can enjoy being outdoors at the Inn.

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage for 2 nights! Its great that they will bring your breakfast out to you if you desire. The owner and all of the staff were so kind! The grounds were beautiful, and the room was so comfortable! I only wish I would have known sooner that you did not have to drive all the way to Herman for a wonderful bed and breakfast experience! We will definitly return!

We stayed at the Inn for our 35th anniversary and had a very wonderful experience. The Inn and our room was beautiful, clean and very cozy. It sits on a partial island with crescent shaped ponds almost completely around it. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our breakfast the next morning was excellent. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and hope to return soon.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Inn for our one year wedding anniversary. We both had a wonderful time here! There is complimentary soda, hot tea or coffee to enjoy as you sit in the living room relaxing, playing games or viewing the photo albums. There is also a movie library so that you can take a couple movies to your room to watch. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was amazing! The staff were also very nice to chat with or if you needed anything they were right there to help! We would definitely return to stay again when it is warmer so that we can enjoy more of the outdoor amenities! T&K Weston, MO

My husband and I recently celebrated our 5th anniversay by staying at the Cottage. It is the perfect place to spend a romantic time away, there is a lot of space and a charming feel about the Cottage. We have been there one time before, and enjoyed it just as much the second time around. The main house is beautiful as well, and the service is outstanding.

Really nice room with whirlpool tub in the room. Liked that the room was off the main property in its own secluded place (by pool). Breakfast at a reasonable hour. Very lovely stay. I only wish the town had a little more to do/explore, but if you're looking for a place to just relax and chill for a few days, with no rush or places to be, you'll really enjoy

The Inn at Lake Crescent was a really nice place. Beautiful home for a bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Garden Room and had our own private hot tub. It was a really nice place. We also had couples massages - AWESOME is the only word I can think of. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. You have your own key to the main house so you can come and go as you please. Every room has a DVD player and a movie library to choose from. They have complimentary soda beverages and snacks. They have a really wonderful breakfast - real french toast with peaches on top and a little assortment of fruit. It was a little cold to venture outside to enjoy the whole expierence though. Will definitely return in the spring or fall. Even though there were other couples booked at the same time we were - we felt all to ourselves. We had the absolute best time here.

The Inn on Crescent Lake was clean and relaxing. The bed was a little squeaky, but comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and served right on time. I would like to return when it is warmer as I did not get to enjoy the amenities, such as the pool, boats or the hot tub. The walking trail around the pond was nice, but short and a little confusing. I have and will continue to recommend this bed and breakfast to my family and friends.

The Inn on Crescent Lake looks like a southern plantation. Our room was very comfortable for reading or watching tv. The bed was very comfortable. The gourmet breakfasts were excellent. The breakfast area is very inviting. We would highly recommend The Inn to anyone that likes to stay at a bed and breakfast.

The Inn is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The Inn was about half full and we had no idea! It was very quiet the entire time we were there. We enjoyed the peace and quiet along with the beautiful area!! Breakfast was amazing, we would love to come back! Jaclyn Adams

My husband and I recently had a lovely stay at this charming little Inn. We live less than an hour away in Kansas City and wanted to get away and relax not too far from Kansas City and have a little Baby-Moon (honeymoon before baby comes). We had a wonderful time. Our room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our private whirlpool tub - The perfect spot for a soon to be mama with the weight of the world on her...feet. :) The grounds were immaculate and there was plenty to do if we decided we wanted to enjoy the outdoors. :) The manager Christine was warm, friendly and an excellent cook. Breakfast was hosted on a lovely indoor verandah and was delicious. (she even incorporated one of our meal requests into the menu). We were pleasantly surprised to note that complementary light refreshments were available throughout the day and night. We certainly plan to make the Inn at Cresecent Lake our top getaway spot in the months and years to come. Thanks for a wonderful stay. - The Millers, Kansas city,MO

My wife and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. We had been given a gift card for B&B.com and decided to use it for this. After looking around online, we were attracted to the privacy afforded by their Cottage room. We were not disappointed! The properties are well kept and pleasant. The rooms were very well maintained. The Cottage has a wonderful living area downstairs and a beautiful and large bedroom suite upstairs. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom with the whirlpool tub and tiled shower were great! The breakfast was good, and they even offer to bring it to you if you are staying at the Cottage, which we took advantage of. They alternate between a sweet breakfast and a savory breakfast, and we came on a savory day. We both enjoyed our stay, and next time we plan to try the ballroom in the mansion house. Yes, I'm a man, and I said "next time." We are actually looking forward to staying again! We would recommend staying for at least 2 nights if possible. Coming in the summer when the pool is open and the lake is available would be a joy as well! On the day after our stay, we visited some of the stores and restaurants in Excelsior Springs that were recommended by the inn, and the people in town were so much fun. Definitely visit the Willow Springs Mercantile for lunch and wine tasting! Highly recommended!

I suprised my boyfriend for his birthday with a nights stay in the Cabana Sweet. We both loved it! With our own room separate from the mansion we were in our own little slice of paradise. There was a hot tub in the room to soak and relax, and a king size bed to catch up on much needed sleep. This was the perfect little get away! Christine, out room attendent, was welcoming and nice; she made us feel right at home! We took a walk under the stars to the beautifully lit gazebo. We plan to come back in spring to enjoy fishing and the swimming pool! Thank you for everything it was so wonderful!!

This was our first experiece for B&B. WOW! it was beyond our expectations. This place is beautiful! The staff was so welcoming and courteous, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The grounds are quiet, well taken care of, a walking path, small lake and landscape to relax. Its nice to have your own heat/cool controls for your room. We stayed in the cottage and it had an abundance of space , very comfortable. The B & B was a great place for us to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We didn't want to leave and look forward to returning again. We went downtown and with plenty of friendliness. FYI- many places are closed on Mon. downtown. Since returning home our thoughts keep returning to how positive the experience was here and looking forward to going back.

We only stayed one night, but it was enough to make us want to come back in the spring or summer to take full advantage of the area. The Inn was beautiful inside and out. We were new to the whole B&B thing, and the host at the door made us feel very welcome (wasn't the owner). There weren't too many couples staying the weekend we visited, so it was as if we had the whole place to ourselves. Very quiet an extremely relaxing to walk the trail around the lake. The breakfast was excellent, as well... true "french" toast with a cream cheese filling that was very tasty.

Beautiful place! I only wish we would have had a few more days to spend there! The mansion was a beautiful place and there were plenty of ways to relax and recoup. Walking on the trails, fishing, using the paddle boats, swimming pool, hot tub, schedule a massage... My wife said it was the deepest, best massage she's ever had. Excelsior Springs has a very neat historic downtown district, as well. Lots of scenic driving, and we highly recommend Ventana's Grill! It is a beautiful setting and just as quiet and private as anyone could ever want it to be. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful place. We loved walking through the trails out in nature. A great escape from the city. The decor was elegant and sophisticated, but still warm and welcoming to where you could relax. The sun-room was probably my favorite part with plants and a fountain. Very relaxing! We had a great time!

This Inn was only the second B&B we have been too, but it exceeded our expectations. Everything was so neat and orderly. The rooms were very well decorated and white glove clean. Beverly was very welcoming at our arrival. We stayed in the cottage and it was much bigger that we had expected. The decor was perfect and the privacy as well. The grounds are very pretty and the walking trail with kissing spot was a cute touch. The breakfast was delicious as well. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed for a weekend on our 5th anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the Inn. We fished, got a couples massage, strolled the grounds, and went into town to the Mercantile Shop and sampled several wines including a pumpkin wine that was wonderful. We have both commented since we returned home how much closer we both feel to each other. Thank you for a wonderful place where people like us who have forgotten how to relax learned to relax, and allowed us to focus on each other. We look forward to returning many times in the future.

This is a nice mansion situated on two crescent shaped lakes that encircle it almost like a moat. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, but the decor of the room and bathroom did not "flow" at all. That may be a French thing since the owner was from there and included French decor throughout. During warmer months there is a pool and the cooler months, there is a hot tub and fire pit. There is fishing on the lake as well. Nice place to visit and would go again!

My wife surprised me for our anniversary. We stayed in the Garden room with the hot tub. The hot tub had amazing privacy. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. We never felt rushed and had great privacy. Even though there were several other guests, we never noticed them until breakfast. The breakfast was good with a nice French flair. We enjoyed out stay and plan to go back again some time soon.

We have stayed at the Inn twice. Once about 5 years ago and again this year. We enjoyed our first stay, and especially wanted to come back to try out the paddle boats and nature trail. The new owners (2007?) have provided additional amenities (such as wi-fi, DVD players in all the rooms, french keepsakes) without changing the lovely atmosphere of the Inn. We hope to return for a third visit.

I stayed at the Inn in August 2010 and was quite surprised. It was my first experience staying in such, but it definitely exceeded my expectations! The room was bright and cozy and we even had our own private hot tub on our own private deck! The grounds were absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. The service was more than I had expected. Beverly and Patrick were both very welcoming and concerned of any issues we might have had (we had none). There are no words for the breakfast - delicious doesn't come close! The atmosphere for romance is like none I've ever seen. A lot of thought and care has gone into the maintenance of the Inn. It seemed like everywhere we turned, there was a stolen glance, a quick peck on the cheek or just unspoken words between us that meant the world. I went to visit someone very important to me before I leave for my 3rd deployment next month, and I honestly don't think a better spot could have been chosen for a couple of lazy days and romantic nights! I'm looking forward to making the same - but longer trip - when I return next summer!

The Inn on Crescent Lake is such a beautiful getaway. My husband and I just stayed in the Cabana Suite. It was wonderful. It felt like we were in our own little paradise. There is so much to do. We swam, soaked in the hot tub, walked around the beautiful grounds, drank wine and played games in the sun room, and played ping pong. We visited a nearby shop and got free wine tastings. Ate at a wonderful gormet resturant and Bistro. I cannot wait to go back. The Ramseys

This is the third year we have stayed at the Inn and we look forward to it with anticipation each year. Beverly and Patrick have made some wonderful additions with the benches along the path and improving the view of the lake from the breakfast room. We splurged a little and stayed in the Cottage this year and LOVED IT! Because it has a 'fridge we could buy icecream for those late night snacks as well as save leftovers from dinner for lunch the next day. We also took advantage of having our breakfast delivered and ate outside on the patio each morning. BEAUTIFUL! It was quiet, peaceful, and restful. We're already looking forward to next year's getaway.

This b&b was just beautiful on perfectly manicured acreage with a clean and cool pool. It was such a nice experience, all the guests were very respectful of others and it was very quiet and relaxing. It was a very personal experience as you felt as you were the only ones there. I would recommend it highly!

My wife and I stayed at the Crescent Inn for our 20th anniversary. I was concerned that I could blow this mile marker if the place was less than expected. My wife was so happy and enjoyed every second of our stay. I enjoyed as well but seeing her happy made me feel so good on the decision I had made for us. We will visit the Crescent Inn again and would recommend to anyone we know to stay there. Ken & Sharon

We would highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I have visited many bed and breakfasts in the state of Missouri. This is our favorite without a doubt. We stayed in the Cabana by the pool. It was a beautiful room. We enjoyed the hot tub, in room jacuzzi, fire pit and especially the pool. It was large and beautiful. We also took a romantic boat ride around the B $ B. The innkeepers were so friendly and made us feel so special. The breakfast was fabulous. I can't wait to go back again.

I just recently welcomed my husband home for his two week break from iraq. I really wanted to make it special so i started searching for a nice place to stay around kansas city where his flight landed, and this is what i found!! It was beautiful online but in person it takes your breath away. The service there was great and they were more then willing to help make our experience special. The room was awesome and we definatly plan on going back when he gets home for good. The breakfasts by the way were fantastic! I don't think i could have found a better place for that occasion. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stay on our upcoming trip to Worlds of Fun. After looking around online I was not impressed with reviews for many of the hotels in the Kansas City area. Then I remembered the Inn on Crescent Lake. I had stayed here about 8 years ago with my parents and it was a "no-brainer," this is where we should stay. For about the same cost as I was quoted for a Holiday Inn or Marriott, you get SO much more. Where do I begin? The mansion is breathtaking. We stayed in the Emerald Rose room. The room was beautiful, and the bed was more than comfortable. I slept like a baby. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and filling. We didn't even need to eat lunch! After breakfast we walked around the immaculate grounds. We took a paddle boat out on the lake and just relaxed for a while. Although we didn't stay long, I could've just spend the day relaxing and doing the activities at the mansion: paddle-boating, fishing, swimming, tanning, etc. It was a great stay, and we will definitely be back when we are in the area.

We just returned from a wonderful two night stay at the Inn on Crescent Lake. We were reluctant to leave and return to reality. What a great escape from the go-go-go of our "normal" life. We stayed in the beautiful Garden Room and enjoyed the private hot tub many times! Breakfast was wonderful each morning; delicious and filling. There are several activities on the estate; paddle boat, fishing, walking trails, pool. We enjoyed them all! If you feel the need to venture into town the downtown area has several unique restuarants. We especially enjoyed the Merchantile for lunch. Delicious!! Beverly and Patrick are wonderful hosts. It is obvious they truly enjoy eachother and the day-to-day of owning a Bed and Breakfast.

The Inn at Crescent Lake is in a class all it's own. From the moment you place your reservation with Beverly, one of the two owners, to the moment you check in,being personally greeted again by Beverly, you can only begin to feel how special this place really is. This truly is the best kept secret in the greater Kansas City area, if not further. First you enter the property through this stately stone wall, with Iron Gates paying tribute to yesteryear, only to see the main house, with it's decadent columns bringing me back to days I lived in New Orleans. Once you enter the house the first thing I noticed was the grand staircase, and the seating area off to the left with fireplace where many photo albums from the owners various global travels are there for you to enjoy. I also had the priveledge of an early check in which was greatly appreciate since I was setting up a surprise engagement for my now fiance. Beverly took the time to make sure my every need was cared for, preparing a tray with fresh fruits, and imported cheeses to enjoy. Since I reserved the cottage, we also had out breakfast personally delivered to us this morning by Beverly which I thought was incredible given that is Easter morning. While there we also took time to tour the main house viewing each of the eight rooms available, there is not a bad room in the house, each has it's own identity and personality. The attention to detail shown in the decor selections is second to none. I enterred the cottage a single male whose nerves where going crazy, I left my stay at The Inn at Crescent Lake engaged to the love of my life and completely and totally relaxed and at ease. I look forward to future visits to the Inn. If your looking for a romantic place to rekindle the fires the Inn at Crescent Lake is your best bet. Thank you Beverly for sharing your treasure with us, and for everything, you made our special day that much more with your hospitality and we truly appreciate it! Brian Oliver & Michelle Walker

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for his 50th Birthday. We stayed in the Garden Room where we had our own private hot tub. I also purchased the Birthday package along with our stay and it was a wonderful added bouns. We had the ballons, cake and flowers waiting for us in our room when we arrived. Also, included in that package, we had breakfast brought to our room the next morning, which was wonderful! I would highly recommend the Inn to anyone. Beverly and her husband, who own the Inn, were very gracious and wonderful people. They take alot of pride in their property, and it shows! We will be back when were in need of a little R & R.

I made reservations at the Inn as a suprise for my husband on Valentine's Day. This was the first time we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. What a pleasant suprise. We were greeted by Beverly upon our arrival. She proceeded to take us on a tour of the Inn complete with bits of the Inn's history. I booked the cottage. What a great treat!! Plenty of room and amenities. We were so relaxed that we didn't want to leave!! We will be back to enjoy the Inn when the weather is warmer. Looking forward to the ponds and walking the property. Make sure to check out the Inn's website, it is full of information and beautiful pictures.

We just went to the inn as an opportunity to get away from home for Valentines weekend. As a stately and historic inn, it is nicely decorated and our Peach Room was very comfortable. We ordered a delicious fruit and cheese plate with luscious chocolate strawberries and champagne, enjoyed the Olympics in the evening, and a fine breakfast in the Solarium the next morning. Beverly and Patrick are gracious and knowledgeable hosts with many travel tales and a love for their family. They offer a personalized spa experience for those interested. This was the dead of the winter that wouldn't quit, so it was cold outside and yet we enjoyed walking in the snowy woods.

I am very pleased with my stay at he Inn on Crescent Lake. The Inn was everything that I imagined it would be. The Inn was warm and comfortable. The Innkeepers were very welcoming and made me feel right at home. It was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway and the accommodations were superb! I had the most enjoyable and unforgettable stay. I highly recommend getting the couples massage; it was well worth the money! I am looking forward to going back again very soon. Mary Odessa, MO

Wow! How lucky can we be?! We have traveled many miles and stayed in several B&B’s, but to have the best one in our own home town. It just does not get any better than that! We wanted to celebrate our 10 year engagement anniversary and had several options. However after watching the Inn change ownership and getting to know the new owners, Beverly & Patrick, the choice was easy. We love the owners, above and beyond is how they operate! They truly want their guests to have a wonderful experience. After having a wonderful dinner at The Ventana Gourmet Grille we returned to the Cabana and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, took a dip in the hot tub before a wonderful nights rest! The breakfast was great and our morning massages topped off our stay. The perfect place for relaxing and romancing!! Gary & Kim

This is a surprising place. The owners impart an intriguing European charm - he is French and she is American - to this historic home in a rural, small town setting nestled outside of metropolitan Kansas City. Come to enjoy the place, the people and the much needed opportunity to get a way from it all. The owner encourage you to relax, ewnew and rejuvenate. The nearby community offers some great architectural treasures that are worth exploring. - Brent and Lee (Independence, Mo.)

The Inn is wonderfully appointed and lives up to the motto of the innkeepers. My wife and I enjoyed a quiet relaxing time during our stay. (D. & J. Richey)

Every Valentines Day my husband and I love to get away from it all and take some time for ourselves. We took a chance on The Inn at Crescent Lake, and were VERY pleased with the gamble!! The Inn is beautiful!!! Even in winter with the frozen surrounding lake, gazebo and forest, its breath taking. We can't wait to go back and walk around the lake, fish, paddle boat, or whatever else we desire, when we return in the summer. For the romantic type, this is a must see place!! The room decor is newly remodeled and beautifully decorated, but it still has an old fashioned, cozy feel. History buffs will love this place as well. The cozy little town, has a way of making you feel like you stepped back in time. Al Capone and Pres. Truman visited this place. The price is also very reasonable, especially the private cottage. The staff is VERY friendly!! We had an amazing time!! The roses, massage package, champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries were divine! Most rooms have Jacuzzi tubs, and there is an outdoor pool as well. If you’re thinking of going to the Château Avalon, take the extra time to try this place instead. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage at Inn on Crescent Lake. Rooms are available in the Inn, but we chose the cottage because it is so charming and private. We stayed there the night of our wedding and then two nights after that. We had breakfast delivered to us every morning, the service was excellent, and the surroundings were beautiful. It was so nice and quiet there, yet the town is about 5 miles from there so it is not too far at all from town. I would recommend Inn on Crescent Lake to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!

We continue to be amazed by the beauty of the Inn on Crescent Lake. We were married there 6 years ago and just celebrated our anniversary with a stay at this fabulous B & B. We could not give the accommodations, hospitality, food, or grounds high enough ratings to do it justice. If you are looking to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of your daily life, the Inn on Crescent Lake is the perfect place. It is purely enchanting!

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary here and what a romantic stay it was! We first stayed at the inn when my husband proposed to me 6 years ago! How wonderful it was to revisit! This is truely a magnificent place and romance is all over the place! We stayed in the Garden room when we got engaged and this time we stayed in the Emerald Rose room and both rooms are excellent! I loved the Queen bed in the Emerald Rose room...it was wonderful to snuggle with my husband (we have a king bed ....and well sometimes..it's just too big!) We will be staying again and again! I love the new French flair!

This was our second trip to the Inn. It is such an amazing place. We stayed in the Cabana room, which is BIG and comfortable. Beverly was a very gracious host. We LOVE going to the Inn, and can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Crescent Lake for our two-year anniversary. We absolutely loved it--everything about it. The owners are very personable and have made sure the inn feels like your home-away-from-home. We loved our room, the breakfasts, and Excelsior Springs. We hope to come back!

We can't say enough good about our stay. The service & accomodations were excellent. The setting was quiet & serene and a pleasant escape from the hustle & bustle of Kansas City. The grounds were all very beautiful & well kept. The breakfast was exceptional & Beverly & Patrick went out of their way to make us feel at home. They even went & purchased special mixes so that we could have a dairy & gluten free breakfast. There are so many wonderful things about this place that you have to see to believe. Our stay here made our honeymoon extra special. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to get away and get rejuvinated.

My husband arranged for me to have a night away from home to be refreshed from the demands of raising a family. He chose the perfect place! It is just as gorgeous as the pictures, plus it smells wonderful. In-room controls allowed me to set my own comfortable temperature. I loved that there was so much property for me to explore. I got to see wild turkeys waddling through the snow. Beverly was able to accomodate my complicated diet. (Gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free) The charm of this bed and breakfast is not limited to the accomodations. Patrick and Beverly are beautiful hosts with gentle, hospitable spirits. I definetly recommend this bed and breakfast. I hope to return, with my fabulous husband, to celebrate our anniversary in the Spring.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this relaxing Bed and Breakfast. It was in celebration of my birthday and our last trip together before we have our 2nd baby. The Inn was quiet and relaxing for us. We enjoyed a couple's massage on the grounds and peaceful time around the fire pit. My only complaint was that our room was on the east side of the house and the lights that illuminated the property stayed on a little later than I would have liked, as it was a little too bright in the room. Once the lights went out, I had a wonderful night's sleep. The owner, Beverly, was very sweet. I would recommend this to friends for sure.

Last minute my wife and I decided to have a little getaway from the kids and stumbled onto this Bed and Breakfast. We have been to several other Bed and Breakfast and were not expecting much. Once we walked into the front door we were amazed at how beautiful it was! We went on walks and just enjoyed the scenery. I would recomend this to anyone. The couple that newly runs this place was more than welcoming and has great plans for the future with my wife and I are already planning our next trip to go back.

Our stay at the Inn was lovely overall. The Inn and property are inarguably beautiful and the ammenities are just perfect. The help, however, is a little overpowering. The high-strung innkeeper seems to impose too many confusing rules on the guests who just want to relax. For instance, guests are asked to lock the front door behind them each time they exit the building (because the inner front door flies open due to air pressure if left unlocked), well this is inconvenient for guests who are trying to come in and out with their bags, etc. Their are locks available in this world that can be locked from the inside to lock as the door closes. It seems like a petty thing to be concerned about, but it's the little things that make all the difference. Beyond that, it seems that the inn is the innkeeper's soul reason for life. Her eagerness to serve borders on frightening. The inn is also very over-advertised within it's own property; the graphic logo, and accompanying novel of text, is printed on everything from coffee mugs to the bottom of the pool. I don't know how we're meant to read at the bottom of the pool. Oh well. The site is gorgeous and a lovely place to stay.

Amazing Inn. This was our 4th visit and we will be back for many years. The Inn has new owners and they are SO great! She took time to talk to us and make us feel like we were their only guests. The grounds offer so much to do that one night is not enough! Plan to stay 2 nights and enjoy the pool, hot tub, walking trails, boat, paddle boats, fishing, and beautiful rooms.

We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at the Inn. We had the most wonderful time. The Innkeeper, Beverly was wonderful. She took time out of her schedule to take pictures of us and to make sure we had everything we needed. The walking trail was relaxing. The paddle boating was a blast. We had a very restful and relaxing time. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to get away.

Our daughter decided to have her wedding small and personable. She found your place on the Internet. We booked almost a year ago to be able to get her date. This Inn is the most perfect place to have a small and personable wedding. It could have not been any better. Everything went perfect and right on time. What a wonderful place to spend time with both families and get to know everyone. We are planning to come back in the future. The staff made our little girls day the best it could have been. What a special place.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon, and I have to say this is the best lodging I have ever had. We stayed in the cottage which is beyond words, the owners are super nice and breakfast is outstanding. If you stay anywhere else you are missing out.

What a fantastic place to stay, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My husband and I stayed for three nights in three different rooms. Two of the rooms had whirlpool baths for two. We did both the birthday package and the romance package - one included a cake, the other chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne, both included breakfast in bed. We took a paddle boat out on the lake, my husband fished and caught bluegill, we hiked in the woods and had a private picnic lunch for two, we swam in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, and watched a movie from the DVD library. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary sodas and the honor bar had a wonderful selection of wine and beer. The privacy of this inn gave you the feeling of seclusion, yet we were minutes from town, which boasted both chain stores and restaurants, as well as a historic district with eclectic shops and one of a kind dining. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to all of my friends and relatives and will definitely return myself.

Wonderful B&B. The house and grounds were so quiet even though it was full. Our room was clean and the jacuzzi tub was perfectly relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities on the property, including the pool, hot tub, paddleboats on the lake, and trail through the woods. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Although it was just 30 minutes from home, it felt like a million miles away. We will definitely be returning!!

We stayed at the Inn last year and couldn't wait to return this year! We were able to check the calendar and scheduled a time when the Inn wasn't so full (eary in the week). If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat in a beautiful location, you couldn't ask for a more perfect place. The owners are incredibly friendly and accomodating but not intrusive in any way. The presentation of the food was not only beautiful but it was equally ample, delicious and nutritious with a French flare. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Beverly and Patrick's enthusiam and plans for the Inn's future are infectious. Although Excellsior Springs isn't a large town they have a good selection of restaurants with great food - Ventana Gourmet Grill & Wabash BBQ are two we love. We had such a wonderful relaxing and romantic time, we're already looking forward to next year's visit!

Wanting to spend our 35th anniversary somewhere special, we could not have found a more romantic getaway than The Inn at Crescent Lake, had we spent another 35 years looking for one! From the moment we arrived and owner Beverly greeted us at the door, til the time we sadly had to leave left two days later, our stay was everything we hoped for and more! While the main house with its storied history has some wonderful and unique rooms, we stayed in ‘The Cottage’, a two story retreat (formerly the estate’s Carriage House) which overlooks one of the two crescent shaped ponds that surround the 22 acre grounds. Being detached from the main house, we felt like we had the whole estate to ourselves, which is just what we were looking for. The large living room / dining room / kitchen area is on the main floor, with the bedroom, sitting area and bath on the 2nd level. Breakfast each day was brought to our house (as this extra service comes with renting The Cottage), with the option of being served in the main house in a beautiful Solarium which has an indoor water feature that was part of the original build of the estate in 1915. The French cuisine we enjoyed both mornings reflects the owners’ background and heritage, as proprietors Beverly and her husband Patrick hail from France. Days were spent around the large pool, walks on the grounds, and paddle boat rides. And when that wasn’t enough, we’d venture into nearby Excelsior Springs to browse the shops, and sample the local restaurants in the evenings. (if you love BBQ, you gotta go to Wabash BBQ!) We’re already planning our next trip back to The Inn at Crescent Lake, except this time we’re not waiting 35 years…. We’re going back again next year!!! Bob & Sherry

Trinity Lutheran Church selected the Inn on Crescent Lake for our fall staff retreat. Our experience was nothing short of incredible. The facility and setting was beautiful, the sleeping rooms were comfortable, roomy and plesant, the meeting area was excellent, and the food and service were outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the quiet and comfortable living area where we had most of our meetings. We would have spent more time in the peaceful outside areas had the weather not been so damp and cool. Recommended highly for small organizations looking for a great retreat setting.

My husband and I decided to Honeymoon in September 2008, a few months after we married in July 2008. We wanted to take our close friends along, so we honeymooned with 2 other couples. We searched all Bed & Breakfast in Missouri. The prices at the Inn were great, and the rooms awesome. It didn't take long for us to figure out that this was the place for us. The website is very helpful and the Inn keepers were a great help via email while we were planning our stay. The Inn is beautiful. It is nicely secluded, surrounded by nature. Walking trail, stocked lake complete with paddle boats and bass boat, hammock, hot tub, swimming pool, massage therapist on duty, outdoor fire place, gazebo, solarium for breakfast. My husband and I stayed in the cottage, it is beautiful. So nice to have room for all our friends to sit and visit, eat and play games. The tub big enough for two was my favorite. The whole place is decorated so nicely. Having Breakfast delivered to us at the cottage was also very nice. One of the couples stayed in the Cabana House. Very nice. I was jealous that there tub was right in the room with their bed. Very neat decor in there... Wildlife theme. Awesome that it was right by the pool, too. The other couple stayed in the main house in the Ballroom, which is the honeymoon suite. It was very nice, as well. I love all the window seats in there. Perfect for reading, which I am sure they enjoyed doing. The Inn Keepers were so very nice and accommodating. The fridge stocked with soda, wine to purchase, complementary wine our first night there, wonderful breakfast, nice house keeper, thorough tour upon arrival, and things I am sure I have overlooked at the moment made our stay so very nice. All of us wish to return next year. Maybe bring along some more friends. We will return to The Inn on Crescent next year, if not before.

We got married at the Inn in september 07 and we had a fantastic time. The wedding package was excellent value for money. The owners were more than helpful and made it into a very speacial day for us both. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night so if we ever go back to the states we will have to make it a priority to go back.

I won a 2 night stay through Country Mart. My husband and I have been married 29 years and never really took a trip after we were married. This was an EXCEPTIONAL TRIP - loved the atmosphere - very quiet and relaxing and really enjoyed visiting the historic sites in the area. Have recommended to our friends. If we get a chance would visit again.
