Brian and Linda were the most gracious of hosts. The breakfasts were devine and the house absolutely beautiful. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Linda's homemade goodies were a sweet way to end each evening. By the end of our four day stay we felt like we were leaving home. It was a wonderful way to be introduced to the town. This house was adorable. I loved the decorations and furnishings which fit with the age of the house and were comfortable. Our room was SO cute and comfortable, I wish we could have stayed for more than one night. Breakfast was amazing- it would be something to eat like that on a regular basis. We enjoyed our hosts and spending time with them on the porch after breakfast. I would love to come back again and be able to spend some time on the back patio area. We loved it!

We had a lovely evening in this beautiful historic home. We stayed in the main floor Girardot room. It is very large and beautiful. It has a huge bathroom with lovely toiletries and big, soft towels- and a double jacuzzi tub! Brian took us on a short historical tour of the home upon our arrival and then we were left to a quiet evening to ourselves. The bed was very comfortable and had great soft sheets. But I think the whole trip would have been worth it just for breakfast. Linda belongs in a 5star hotel somewhere. It might have been the best breakfast of my life. We were fortunately to share breakfast with another couple visiting so we had fun chatting and raving over the incredible food. Definitely worth a visit!

We picked this B&B sort of last minute (fortunately we were staying on a weeknight so it was available) - the owners were fantastic, breakfast was delicious, and the room was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I was fortunate to stay 2 nights this past week at the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast. Brian and Linda were warm and friendly - giving thoughtful attention to the smallest detail. I haven't slept so well in years. The 3-course breakfasts featured organic products and were outstanding. I could eat the re-interpreted Eggs Benedict every morning and never get tired of it. Two meals featured strawberries with amaretto infused cream, blueberry muffins with farm fresh butter and blueberry compote, pumpkin bread with cranberry-pecan chutney, and quiche with oven roasted potatoes all accompanied by gourmet coffee .... it was all heavenly. We had a wonderful time at Bellevue. Brian and Linda were outstanding hosts, they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The home was absolutely fabulous in every single way. My husband and I stayed in girardot, it was perfect. From the king size bed, to the whirlpool for two, and all of the little extas (like treats before bed) it was amazing. Linda is a fantastic cook, and the breakfast was beyond words. She even sent leftovers home with us. We cannot wait to return.

Beautiful Bed & Breakfast, wonderful hosts and excellent food. If you are planning a stay in or around Cape Girardeau, forget the "boxed" hotels and stay at the Bellevue Bed & Breakfast. Personal suggestion: make room in your stomach because you will not want to miss a bite of that breakfast!

Brian and Linda are the ultimate hosts. They made us feel welcome in their beautifully restored home. The breakfasts were amazing. You can tell Linda pours her love of cooking into her breakfast creations. We stayed in the Girardot and it was beautiful. Everything you thought you needed and some things you didn't think you needed (like a flashlight and a steamer) were in our room. Thank you for the wonderful stay in your home.

My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to try and stay in Cape Girardeau on our way to New Orleans for a conference. We are so lucky to have stumbled upon the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast website. I was sold on this B&B when I read their NO SMOKING policy. After experiencing Brian and Linda's hospitality and sharing their wonderful home for the evening, we highly recommend to all to experience this gorgeous home, Brian's considerate and peaceful demeanor and Linda's extraordinary way with food. We booked this as a birthday getaway for the weekend, and it was the absolutely most perfect bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in! The house is immaculate, gracious, and stunning in the details. I am not your typical B&B customer. I am a business traveler and I travel alone. I am tirred of waking up in a hotel room and forgetting what city I am in! And since all the hotels look the same, standing in the lobby doesnt give me a clue either!! When it cam time to plan a trip to the Cape - I decieded for a change of pace, and i found Bellevue. What a fantastic place. Everything was perfect - and conducting business was easier than ever after spending time at the Bellevue B&B. Itis even walking distance to some great places to eat. The building is established in 18 century by German. Owner, Brian and Linda, have great hospitality. A room that we had stayed 2 nights is named gigadot. It was lovely, and there is a big bathtub with jet bath. Whole of the room is cleaned up. I was amazed. A breakfast made by Linda was really nice. A homemade spinach quiche and a bread pudding were delicious. I hope I get oppotunity to visit again.

The room was perfect; the hosts were charming and the food was outstanding. They accomodated my food allergy perfectly. I felt well cared for and welcomed.

Very welcoming couple, clean and comfortable bedroom with character. Best breakfast ever and Brian kept up the coffee supply. Spent an hour chatting on the front porch after breakfast.

I have stayed at a couple of B&Bs on the east coast and on the west coast but none have matched the friendliness, the delightful consideration and the personal service provided by Linda and Brian.

Very tastefully decorated. The cleansliness was outhstanding. We loved having coffee and watching the birds on the porch.

Wonderful find in Cape Girardeau! Beautifully decorated Victorian home is the perfect get a way spot. Our room on the second floor was cozy and inviting with a reading nook complete with a comfy recliner, amazing pillow topped bed, and a jacuzzi in the spotless en suite bath. A scented candle had been lit before we arrived - a nice welcoming detail. Breakfast was possibly the best we have ever had in a bed and breakfast. Gourmet flavors and generous portions served in the lovely dining room were complimented by excellent freshly ground coffee. Brian and Linda are the perfect hosts and have gone out of the way to ensure their guests have a restful and memorable experience. We hightly recommend the Bellevue Bed & Breakfast.

My wife and I were thoroughly pleased with our stay at Bellevue Bed & Breakfast. Hours prior to our scheduled arrival Brian called and informed us that there was a "plumbing issue" with the room we had booked and we were being upgraded to the master suite (at the same money). When we arrived Brian was sitting on the front poarch and gave us directions for private parking before we could even park on the street! The history and tour of the 121 year old house was very thorough, interesting, but not lengthy. The room exceeded our expectations. And Linda could be a chef at any 5 - star restaurant! The breakfast she prepared was - in a word "SPECTACULAR!" Both Linda and Brian are very outgoing people and we were made to feel at home after we had been there only a few minutes. Furthermore, the couple who brought us and dropped us off also came in for the history and tour and were similarly impressed. We've told our travel agent about Bellevue and recommended it without reservations.

Excellent stop-over on the way to Dexter for a family wedding. Everything was picture perfect! A fantastic way to enjoy a lengthy trip, arrive at destination rested and fortified with a tremendous breakfast so carefully prepared and nicely served on beautiful bone china. A+ all the way!

This is the perfect place to stay for peace and quiet. I would recommend staying here to anyone that is visiting the Cape Girardeau area.

Two girlfriends can even stay in a bed and breakfast! We wanted to stay close to historical downtown Cape so we could attend a cooking class. The innkeepers were extremely helpful and super cooks!

On this trip we stayed in the Peabody hotel in Memphis, the Hermitage in Nashville and the Bellvue B&B in Cape Girardeau. The Bellvue was as enjoyable and elegant as the $ and 5 star hotels.

This is a wonderful Victorian house which has been carefully and lovingly updated and cared for. Linda and Brian are great hosts, thoughtful of our needs, and anxious that we be comfortable. Linda provided really delightful breakfasts, carefully prepared and presented. What they say on their website is all true!

Our stay was simply fabulous and we truly enjoyed linda's awesome breakfasts and brian's hospitality. This is a must stay place. I will recommend it to my friends traveling on i55.

We absolutely fell in love with the Bellevue B&B along with Brian and Linda. They are just the best hosts and my husband and I both felt this was the best B&B we'd ever stayed in. Linda is a phenomenal chef and her breakfasts were ideal--in our opinion--because we only really needed to eat one more meal each day. And that was a good thing for us. They shared the history of the house and their labor of love putting their own personal touch on it. The bed was so comfy we thought about staying another day! I would recommend this B&B highly.

As total newbies to the bed-and-breakfast experience, we were well beyond pleased with our weekend at Bellevue Bed and Breakfast. Not only did we enjoy the ambiance of Cape Girardeau and the riverfront downtown area, but also we found ourselves staying in a lovely historic home that surpassed all our expectations, as did Bellevue owners Brian and Linda themselves. To begin, we are foodies, and the anticipation of gourmet fare was big part of our decision to stay at the Bellevue. Brian and Linda were very accommodating for special food considerations and helped us make our anniversary even more special by working with us on “surprises” for each other on both nights of our stay. Their thoughtfulness, plus the five-star culinary delight that Brian and Linda humbly refer to as “breakfast,” was a big part of our wonderful weekend. Of course, our room was also lovely – the pictures on the Web site hardly do it justice – and very comfortable, from the pillow-top bed to the big-enough-for-two whirlpool tub. However, even with all this to recommend it, the little touches at the Bellevue were part of what made our weekend a perfect getaway. It was lovely to enjoy the homemade cupcakes in our room, the ability to come and go as we pleased, and to spend time relaxing and talking with the proprietors and fellow guests on the front porch. Brian and Linda are delightful people and truly understand the business of making their guests both welcome to linger and free to explore during their stay in Cape Girardeau. The Bellevue is highly recommended, in all aspects; the only danger is that you might be ruined for staying anywhere else!

B&B was excellent and the rooms comfortable and spotless. Unfortunately our schedule required a very early departure and we were unable to stay for breakfast. Based on everything else, I assume it would have been just as outstanding

I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts over the years but this has to be my favorite experience yet! The whole setting was elegant and subdued, but still made you feel like you could put your feet up. The colors and furnishings were eye candy like from a magazine, each with it's own character and history; each item wanting you to discover the next treasure. The linens themselves were such a pleasure, it was hard to pull yourself out of those sheets. But the food was even more elegant than the furnishings. Beautiful china, beautiful presentation, and supurb taste. I felt like a camera crew would step out at any minute to tell me I was on the newest HCTV series about B&Bs! I came away feeling truely pampered.

Breakfast was wonderful! Linda is quite the baker, I've never had banana bread and blueberry muffins like that before! The bed was wonderful and the room quiet. Every room offers warmth, comfort and they are tastefully decorated. The rooms are not to girly and aren't fussy so they welcome relaxation. My husband and I are were quite taken with the place. We plan to return.

Wonderful experience. The food and hospitality was second to none. The room was large and beautifully decorated. Exceptionally quiet. It has a great location just a few minute walk from the 2 best restaurants in Cape.

My wife and I had never been to Cape so I decided to take her for a romantic getaway on our anniversary. The inn was right in the heart of quiet, downtown Cape Girardeau and it is gorgeous! We are a young couple with no kids yet and we were absolutely floored by the beautiful furniture, the amazing history and the wonderful attention to detail. Our room was comfortable, private and spotless. The bed was sooo comfy and my wife ooed and awed over all the small touches that really make this inn great. We were right down the road from the nicest and best restaurant in town "Celebrations" and it couldn't have been a nicer trip. Downtown Cape has cute cafes and many charming antique shops so good food and relaxing times are in abundance. I would definitely recommend this inn! (Be sure to stay for breakfast too! Brian and Linda are fantastic cooks!)

This was our first stay at the Bellevue. We were impressed with the owners' hospitality and quality of food. My husband has a large appetite, and he was satisfied with the servings at breakfast. We loved our room (Girardot) because of the HUGE bed and spacious bathroom. We would love to go back someday!

Lovely inn. Luxurious bed and bath. Lovingly restored. Would definitely stay again. Only negatives: had to carry my own suitcase trailing behind innkeeper up some stairs; breakfast consisted only of very rich dishes--good, but too much rich food and not enough in the way of simple choices.

The outside of the property is very well maintained and the landscape was beautiful. My wife and I chose Bellevue as a chance to get away and spend some time together. Brian and Linda were very gracious hosts and the room nicely decorated and very comfortable. We stayed in the Cove room which was nice and cozy for the two of us. At first I thought that breakfast at 9 was kind of odd, then I saw how much effort must have gone into the meal. Everything from scratch, warm, well portioned and delicious.

This B&B is located on a quiet street. The owners are friendly and provide a wonderful breakfast, delicious snacks and unexpected amenities. The landscaped deck area is very appealing, though our schedule did not allow us to spend any time out there. All of the rooms were tastefully appointed. The bed was so comfortable that neither my wife nor I were awakened by the storm that swept through during the night. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

The Bellevue Bed and Breakfast was a little hard to find as the sign had blown down in the recent storms, but it was well worth the effort. The house interior is beautifully decorated with antiques that show that the owners have really paid attention to the details that make your stay enjoyable. Upon arriving we were greeted and given a brief history of the house and then shown our room. We found the room cozy with chairs for sitting in front of the window and a very comfortable bed. What really made the stay special was all the details. Home made cupcakes with turn down service, free soft drinks and water were provided, and delicious made from scratch breakfast that was too big for either my wife or I to finish. If you ever find yourself in Cape Girardeau I highly recommend staying at the Bellvue Bed and Breakfast.

The breakfast alone was worth the price of the room. Wonderful stay. Only wish we had more time to visit with the very charming owners.

Brian & Linda were wonderful hosts! Their home is a true Cape G landmark and is located in the heart of the downtown / antique store district. A great weekend getaway--and a much better option than the everyday chain hotel!

Wonderful ambience,decorated beautifully with period antique furniture. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a three course gourmet meal and yummy. The bed was most comfortable. Goodies were left st our bedside each night. I highly recommend the Bellevue B&B.

We had to travel to Cape Girardeau unexpectedly and made reservations two days before our planned arrival. We were not arriving in Cape until close to midnight. Brian and Linda were very accommodating, agreeing to allow us to check in late. On top of that, knowing that we had an early commitment the next day, Brian offered to serve breakfast early for us. When we showed up for breakfast the next day, we were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the food. There were three courses served - all of them delicious. We were at the Bellevue two more days and the breakfasts continued to be a highlight. I can not emphasize how welcoming Brian and Linda were and how much we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back!!!

For a trip that had only been planned a day in advance my daughter and I couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother. Brian went out of his way to make sure we had all we needed and Linda's culinary expertise and personality are a delight! We will definitely stay again!

We stayed at Bellevue B & B Jan. 2 2011 and were very pleased. The room was good, the bed and room warm but not hot, and the amenities very convenient. The breakfast was outstanding, and the opportunity to share stories and experiences with Brian and Linda over breakfast really made us feel at home. Plus, we got a full history of the house, an orientation to Cape Girardeau and the community that was really helpful and interesting.

The two nights at the Bellevue was a wonderful and delicious experience being able to walk down to the shops was a fun time the people were so friendly and helpful. The Christmas trees were beautiful as was the whole house we stayed in the Girardot room beautiful and comfortable. Every detail was perfect we loved our stay we felt so pampered Thank you to our hosts the little gift was so sweet!

My husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary at the Bellevue and were blown away at the history of this home, its beauty, and the exquisite breakfast that was served. Brian and Linda have made serving others their lives and you sense that when you meet them. It is peaceful and warm in the house and very distinguished. This is the place to go for a little relaxation and privacy. We stayed in the Giradot room, which has its own distinct beauty and is more stunning than the pics show; it has to be experienced. This was simply a wonderful place to stay in Cape and we are so glad we did.

My man friend and I decided to go up to Missouri for a nice fall getaway this past Halloween. We drove up to Cape Girardeau on a Saturday afternoon arriving around 3:30pm. The house was even more charming than the pictures. My man friend was blown away. We first met Brian, the owner. He showed us around and provided us with a brief history of the house. He then showed us to our room, where the sun's setting light bathed it with warmth. We took some time to unwind from the drive while indulging in scrumptious chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, handmade from the beautiful chef, co-owner Linda. We then headed out into the little town to walk about and dine. In the morning, we arose to the smell of coffee. We ventured down to the dining room where Brian and Linda greeted us. We then prepared to eat the most delectable breakfast ever. One of the comments said they couldn't stop thinking about the breakfast.... it's serious. With three courses, exquisitely paired tastes, and beautiful china, it is sure to enhance all of your senses. I won't ruin the surprise, but I will let you in on one course. The main course was a quiche with organic carrots and spinach and melted gruyere cheese. PERFECTION all the way around from the conversations, to the furnishings, the food, and the service. A beautiful surprise. Thank you Linda and Brian.

My Husband and I were given a gift Cert to stay at a B&B in Mo and we picked Bellevue because of the location and the time of Year. We stayed for 3 nights and we instantly felted like we were visiting friends. The breakfasts prepared by Linda and served by Brian were over the top. Not only delicious but the presentation looked like something out of a food magazine. There are nice restaurants you can walk to and fun Shops on main street. The Shawnie Nat'l Forest is close and great for hikes and just taking a ride. We highly recommend staying at the Bellevue and we would return again for sure. Thanks again Helene and Alan

I would highly recommend the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast for a little getaway. It was elegant and charming with plenty of privacy, lots of romantic touches...candles on a double jacuzzi, huge and comfortable four poster bed, fresh cut flowers in our room, beautiful imported furniture from around the world, homemade chocolate peanut butter cupcakes for a bedtime snack, an elegant three course breakfast served on gorgeous china, silver, and crystal. There was a delightful front porch with wicker furniture and surrounded by flowers to sit and simply enjoy the tranquility. The hosts were very gracious, attentive without being intrusive, and we loved every minute of our stay. We really enjoyed having a large screen television in our room complete with plenty of movies, which is something you don't often find in a bed and breakfast, but was certainly a welcome touch to us. We'll be back!

We loved our stay at the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast. I felt welcome to enjoy the parlors downstairs, as well as the beautifully maintained garden in the back. The food was delicious, vegetarian and local. I felt very relaxed and loved the comfortable bed. Highly recommended if you are in the Cape Girardeau area.

I agree with a previous review - unlike many other bed and breakfasts that seem to be cluttered with kitchy collections and lace doilies, the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast is tasteful, beautiful, and just right. We stayed in the Cove room, which featured a super-comfy squishy foam mattress (it was the best night of sleep I had had in months, as I was 8 months pregnant when my husband and I stayed here). The television cabinet contained several DVDs of movies we could watch if we wanted and the bathroom included toiletries (with very nice labels featuring a picture of the Bellevue B&B) and super-cushy towels. The three course breakfast was top notch and Brian and Linda were fun to chat with on the porch in the morning as we watched the birds and the rest of the world go by. Nicer than your nice hotel, in my opinion. We'd stay again!

The Bellevue B & B was one of the (if not the) best decorated Bed and Breakfasts that we have ever seen. The attention to detail, the colors and materials, the furniture, etc. was right on the mark. So unlike many of the Victorian homes where we have stayed in the past - that clutter the shelves and walls with antiquie toy collections and anitque 'kitsch'. Brian and Linda were quintessential hosts...and obviously very proud of their achievements in providing such a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The 3-course breakfast was wonderful and once again demonstrated the enthusiasm to produce a memorable as well as tasty meal. Brian share the entire history of the home with each guest upon arrival - and it added a lot to the stay - to have the history of the house as well as the prior inhabitants' stories. Most important - this was a place where you wanted to sit on the porch for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and just talk with Linda and Brian. Also - a great recommendation for the restaurant "Celebrations" down the street - where we enjoyed a great dinner. If you are in Cape Girardeau - this is a great place to stay.
