My husband and I and a friend truly enjoyed our recent stay at the Rivercene Mansion. The hosts were gracious and helpful, and we felt so welcomed. They are working hard to restore this amazing historic property, and it was exciting to learn about their plans for the future. I especially enjoyed the binder they had with information on the house and the family that built it. As my husband noted, there is so much history in this area that people know so little about, but should! The two breakfasts we had were delicious, and it was so relaxing to go downstairs early in the morning and grab a cup of coffee to start the morning.

I enjoyed my stay at Rivercene because it was very peaceful and quiet. The people who ran it, plus the guests were very nice people. The room was beautiful and very relaxing. The breakfast, the only semi negative comment I have about that is, it seemed to be rather simple compared to other B & B's. I would recommend Rivercene to anyone who just wanted to step back in time and have a peaceful getaway.

Wow, this place was amazing. It was truly like being in another era or in a movie setting, but with most of the conveniences of modern life. The only problem was the shower; someone started taking a shower when I was in mine and that affected my hot water. (We stayed on the 3rd floor if that makes a difference) But the experience was amazing and the food was scrumptious! Also, one of the owners was telling fascinating stories about the family and their guests. He should write a historical novel! We highly recommend Rivercene!

We had stayed at Rivercene several years ago and found it to be once again a wonderful stay. The current owners were so knowledgeable about the area and the home. Beautifully redone. Highly recommend this as a quiet stop over.

We have stayed at Rivercene multiple times and every visit is wonderful. The mansion itself is amazing and the time and effort that Don and Joe have put into it really shows. They are wonderful hosts that truly enjoy interacting with every visitor. The breakfast is wonderful...I just can't say enough about this wonderful Bed and Breakfast... Jason and Steffany Cullom

I can't say enough about Rivercene. It's beautiful inside and out (with the caveat that it's still a work in progress, as to some of the restoration, but you only notice some of that on the outside). Donn and Joe own it, but Joe is the quiet, behind-the-scenes chef, while Donn is the outgoing, somewhat flamboyant host. The entrance hall, parlor, and dining room are beautiful...just amazing. Our room was huge and beautiful and comfortable. Donn knows the entire history of the mansion and the family who built it, and loves to regale you with the tales of their lives and deaths...fascinating stuff! Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast DELICIOUS. Joe is an amazing chef! They can also direct you to the good restaurants in the area. Do NOT pass up this place!

We were married on New Year's Day at Rivercene, and the event couldn't have been more perfect. We reserved the entire B and B. Joe offered tips and suggestions for the location of the ceremony and prepared a sumptuous breakfast afterwards. We couldn't be happier about our experience.

Although a little off the highway and off by itself, this is a great B & B. It is worth the stay at Christmas just to see the decorated house. Joe fixed one of the best breakfasts I have had at a B & B. We left with zip lock bags with our cinnamon rolls. Historic Rocheport with its nice restaurants is just a few miles down the road. We may return in the summer to ride the KATY trail which runs across the highway from the Inn.
