Very pretty grounds but my room was smaller than I expected. I enjoyed the house tour. The service was great. I got in late and George was so kind in keeping the lounge open so I could have a late supper. Overall, I think my room was a bit overpriced but aside from that I had a very nice stay.

We stayed here after purchasing a groupon... we didn't have the best room, but it was a nice room off in one of the outer building, not the main house. Couldn't have afforded that. The grounds were lovely, the gardens exceptional, the meals were over-priced, but delicious and the service was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly. True Southern hospitality. A once in a lifetime opportunity for us.

My husband and I come to Monmouth at least once a year. We love the service, the rooms and the romantic atmosphere of the grounds. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!!!

The grounds of this Bed and Breakfast are just beautiful! The staff his very nice, breakfast was wonderful in the garden room. My biggest problem was room 23 in the Main House, it was not worth the price they charged! It was old and musty smelling not did not feel clean other than the bathroom. Also, there was a wedding going on the weekend we were there, which was never mentioned to us when making our reservation which it should be! I will not stay there again!

We would recomment Monmouth Plantation to anyone. The service and attention to detail was impeccable. It was the best place we have ever stayed at - a true southern jewel.
