A Perfect Place to Stay

5 on April 17, 2014

What a beautiful Antebellum home in such a relaxing setting. From the moment we arrived, Ron and Eleanor made us feel so welcome and treated us like family. They were both so gratuitous and willing to give us suggestions to ensure a wonderful stay in Natchez. Our days started with a delicious home cooked breakfast and ended with a glass of wine in our "home away from home". Thank you for making our vacation a memorable experience.

Great place to stay

A little disappointed that we were not in the main house but the cottage was lovely and very comfortable. Elenor was very helpfuk and I really enjoyed the wine she gave us for a pre-dinner drink - what a nice touch

Very Nice Place

5 on April 06, 2014

My mother and I stayed at Devereaux Shields for a girls' weekend recently and we loved it! We stayed in the Alice Room, in the cottage down the street from the main house, which turned out to be quite convenient since that's where breakfast is served each morning. The room was very pretty and extremely clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, as were the ladies who served us breakfast(which was large and delicious!). If you come in town for the Spring Pilgrimage, as we did, Devereaux Shields is perfectly located to access many antebellum homes as well as downtown. I would definitely recommend it, and will stay there again if I return to Natchez!

Visit to Natchez

4.6 on March 30, 2014

Our trip down the Natchez Trace from Virginia and staying at the Devereaux Shields House B&B was a great experience! Though our visit was not really long enough we absorbed the ambiance of Natchez with pleasure. Ron & Eleanor were very graciously helped with restaurants, etc. Their staff couldn't have been any nicer and the breakfasts were delicious!

Excellent stay!
