Grand Master Suite
The Victorian King Suite is a spacious 19 x 20 foot room with 14 foot ceilings. It is decorated in greens and burgundies and includes a King-Sized Bed with Victorian Headboard, Private Bath with a Whirlpool Tub and a Walk-in Shower with double shower heads. It has a Full-sized Desk with Wi-Fi Internet Access, 23” Television with Cable housed in an 1860s English Victorian Linen Press, Victorian Sofa and Dresser, Apartment-Sized Refrigerator with a selection of water, sodas and juices, Large Antique Over-the-Mantle Mirror, 3-speed Ceiling Fan, and a full sized closet and bedside alarm clock. Overlooking the beautiful Victorian Puckett House on the MUW Campus, the Upstairs Master Suite of Shadowlawn is a spacious room furnished with Victorian Antiques and has all the modern conveniences today's traveler needs. The "Fleur-De-Lis" Suite is a 14 x 20 room with 14 foot ceilings and is decorated in navy, beige and gold and includes a King sized bed, an Over-stuffed Love Seat, a Desk with Wi-Fi Internet Access, and an English Gents Wardrobe which houses the 19 inch color television with cable. There is a Large Vintage Mirror, 3-speed Ceiling Fan, and a bedside alarm clock. This room has a Private Bath, but one that can be shared with another room. The Double French Suite is a spacious 19 x 20 room with 14 foot ceilings and is decorated in Napoleon Blue with French Antiques with French Florentine accents. The Guest Cottage is a self-contained apartment which is ideal for extended stays when privacy is desired. The Cottage is off the main house, behind the garage in the Southwest corner of the grounds, but just a few steps from the main house. It is a newer structure, which was built on the area where we think may have sat the old carriage house. The cozy cottage is 17 x 19 feet and it has a Full Kitchen, Stove/Oven, Microwave Oven, Refrigerator, sink and full bath with a walk-in shower (no tub). It has a King Sized bed, 3-speed ceiling fan, and 8 foot ceilings. It shares the same amenities as all the rooms at Shadowlawn. Extended stay rates are available.
The Double English Suite is a 19 x 20 room with 14 foot ceilings, decorated in Gold, Burgundy and Beige and is to be rented “piggy-back” in combination with either of the king suites. It includes a Double Bed, an Over-Stuffed Sofa, Wi-Fi Internet Access, and an English Gents Wardrobe which houses an 18 inch color television with cable. There is a large Antique Over-the-Mantle Mirror which matches the one in the Master King Suite, a 3-speed Ceiling Fan, and a bedside alarm clock. This Upstairs Parlor Suite is a separate room that can adjoin the Victorian King Suite and share the Victorian King Suite Bathroom or it would share the "Fleur-De-Lis" King Suite Bath across the hall. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Shadowlawn and have been back several times in the seven months we have been married! It is our paradise, our little slice of Heaven where we are treated like royalty; or better still, like family. Burnette is amazing and always has been so good to us. The accommodations are wonderful, the atmosphere is serene and relaxing, and the gourmet breakfast is to die for!!!! Shadowlawn has quickly become "our special place" where we will return often for years to come!

We decided to do a small wedding and found out about Burnette and Shadowlawn through some friends that also got married there. This was the best decision we ever made. Burnette was able to customize our wedding down to the smallest details. She planned and did everything herself: decorations, flowers, catering, cake, and directed the wedding. Although we were glad that everything was taken care of through a single point of contact, we were worried about how the quality of the different things was going to be since it's very difficult for a single person to be an expert on all these areas. Boy where we wrong! Burnette was amazing! She is so talented! The decorations were beautiful, the flowers were amazing, the food was outstanding and the cake was delicious. And she did it all by herself (and with the help of her daughter Liz). The wedding turned out great and all the guests were impressed on how beautiful everything was. Having a night stay included in the price was great because we were able to enjoy the beauty and charm of staying at a B&B on our wedding event. Not only did we have a great wedding, but we also became like family with Burnette. We would definitely recommend the Shadowlawn experience to anyone visiting the Columbus, MS area.

I was very nervous about my second wedding. Although my future husband and I had already had the large church wedding we still wanted to have an intimate wedding with our closes family and friends. After visiting several possible locations we selected Shadowlawn. It was the perfect decision. Burnette and her family made us feel as if though we were the most important people in the world. Burnette worked endlessly to make sure everything was perfect. We met with her for only a couple of hours and selected flowers, food, and all the finishing touches we wanted. We arrived the evening before and Burnette walked us through everything. My daugters and I stayed the night and the guys stayed at a different location. After a fabulous night sleep we joined each other for a delicious breakfast. I wanted a morning wedding with a brunch reception. Even though it was a holiday weekend, Burnette made it happen. Thirty guest arrived for our family wedding and a short time later we were in the garden have the reception of my dreams. The "Shrimp and Grits" are to die for. This dish is a must have. All dishes were wonderful, the setting was beautiful and my flowers were perfect. I think it is important that a second wedding is even more special than the first. The blending of families and the celebration should be perfect. If you are busy but still want to have a special day; even in your 40s and 50s, call Burnette. You won't be disappointed and all you have to do is show up, enjoy, and then stay the night in a wonderful bedroom. Finding her, her family, and her home was truly a blessing. Thank you Burnette. We look forward to sharing our first anniversary in hour home.

We recently had a chance to stay Shadowlawn where you clearly understand the difference of staying at a hotel and being graciously invited into Burnette’s home. As a consultant I have stayed all over the world and there is no comparison to the feeling that warm and caring person, like Burnette, means to someone where genuine hospitality is experienced even compared to a nicest hotels. It was truly a blessing to be welcomed into her home and she extended that same welcome to my son , who has just started his pilot training at the Columbus Air Force Base, to join us for a family breakfast. This may seem like a little thing but that is what their bed and breakfast is all about. I watched Burnette as she talked and helped everyone staying their and you could see that she did not just have guests but instead she see the world as a place where everyone is part of her family. What a great house, hospitality and memory for my family. I hope you have a chance to experience the true joy of the Christian atmosphere you will find at Shadowlawn and take a moment and enjoy a conversation because that is what make life worth living. The Grand Master Period Suite is the most charming suite at Shadowlawn. Decorated in rich golds, deep rose and bronze tones, it contains mostly period antiques and accessories. It features an 11 foot high Mitchell & Ramelsburg period bed, converted to a king size. Soft lighting in this large suite makes it quite cozy and romantic. Marble flooring in the bath, two person whirlpool tub with seats, 2 showers inside the tub and gold fixtures throughout. Plush bedding, down comforters, professionally laundered sheets. What a treat! An unexpected gem in historic Downtown Columbus! This place is gorgeous, welcoming, comforting and most of all enjoyable! the room was comfortable and the bed was plush! And breakfast... fit for royalty - delicious and impeccably served! Do yourself a favor ... book a stay and you won't regret it!!!!

Staying at this gorgeous Antebellum home really and truly made my stay in Columbus, Mississippi the best experience a little 'ol Californian could ask for. I stayed in the Victorian Suite and I NEVER wanted to leave my room! I had a beautiful view of the MUW campus and i really felt like i was stepping back in time. Burnette and NoNo, the owners, are some of the nicest folks you could ever meet and the breakfasts' were PHENOMENAL! All i have to say is Monte Cristo sandwhiches and Banana Fosters french toast! WOO HOO! I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone desiring to get a taste of the true beauty of the south and the heart of Columbus, Mississippi.

Monte Cristo Sandwiches & Almond Sugared Brie
Our Version of the Monte Cristo Sandwich Slices of 2 different meats and two types of cheese, dipped in an egg and cream mix and placed on the grill. Served with sprinkled powdered sugar and cherry preserves. Brie with Brown Sugar & Almonds is placed in oven until the sugar and the cheese are bubbling. The Best Price Guarantee covers any Bed and Breakfast booked online through BedandBreafkast.com. The Bed and Breakfast must be booked using the Book It button on BedandBreakfast.com in order to qualify.

Just call 1-800-GO-B-AND-B (1-800-462-2632) within 24 hours of booking and give our customer support representative the details on the lower price you found.
Best Price Guarantee Terms and Conditions
The BedandBreakfast.com Best Price Guarantee ensures that when you book and pay for your reservation online through the BedandBreafkast.com website, you are booking your room at the lowest available price. If you find a lower price for the same room on the same dates at the same B&B, and contact us within 24 hour of making your booking, we will refund the difference in price to you. This guarantee does not apply to bookings made over holidays and/or for special events. All requests are subject to verification by BedandBreakfast.com. BedandBreafkast.com will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that cannot be independently confirmed by BedandBreakfast.com personnel. Nor will BedandBreakfast.com verify any requests that it believes, in its sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith.
