At the end of an Amtrak trip to MNSP, this convenient and well-appointed Inn with hospitable innkeepers and a great story was just what we needed. On a "main drag", it is very convenient for travel to the twin cities. read more

When traveling for business, I usually stay at a budget hotel. My Minneapolis business contact mentioned that some of the folks visiting stayed at a close by B & B instead of a hotel, located further away. It was a great idea. After work I... read more

I travel to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area monthly for business. The Innkeepers, Kathy and Greg, are so gracious and helpful. I arranged an interview of a potential candidate during breakfast at the B & B, private and confidential. read more

Photo Album

Named after the family who built the hotel and the street car system in Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Lowry room has a queen sized four poster bed, fireplace and a comfortable seating and reading area. Decorated in gold and rich burgundy, guests may have a hard time leaving the room to come to breakfast. That's OK, we will bring breakfast to you.The Edgemoor room is a single room that is both patriotic and nostalgic. Decorated in navy and a deep red, it sports an antique Coke Cola vending machine money receptacle, stars (lots of stars) and a most comfortable reading and relaxing chair. It is a smaller room, but has all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable and fun.
You don't see this very often, a small city located within the big city. Hilltop is that city in our neighborhood. With a population of about 600, we honor the “little engine that could” with a beautiful room complete with a queen size bed, ample seating and relaxing areas and more gorgeous burgundy and gold decorations. The Hilltop room is located such that guests are treated to the early morning bird songs. After Prohibition, there was a family who visited often and had a most adored adopted daughter. Her name was Joanne, but she signed her photos “Joey.” This room is named for her and chronicles her growth from babyhood to adulthood with photos of her as a baby through her graduation from University. Now 70 years old, Joey lives in Washington State. You will enjoy her single room, decorated in Shabby Chic with special European Antique linens. It is heavenly.
We couldn't resist. Knowing many folks think of Minnesota as a cold, snowy, void of culture fly over city, we had to decorate one of the rooms to show just who we are. The Minnesota room has a authentic photo of Viking coach Bud Grant and Quarterback Fran Tarkenton (circa 1960's) a real wolf hide and deer head and decorated with the hunter and fisher person in mind. This room always makes our guests smile, sometimes giggle.Located on the second floor in the corner of the house, the Oak Hill overlooks mature lilac bushes and is decorated to match. The room is great in the spring when the lilacs are in bloom... and especially wonderful during the rest of the year when it reminds us of the beauty and joy of a Minnesota spring. A very comfortable double bed with feather bed and down comforter await your stay.
