I have been wanting to stay at the Stone Mill ever since I drove by it one summer day. I can say that our visit did not disappoint. This is such a neat place. We stayed in the off season so we didn't have a lot of dining or entertainment options, but we had fun playing games in our room. Rick, the owner, was staffing the front desk. He was very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to coming back to the neat little town of Lanesboro again in the peak season, and we will be reserving a room at the Stone Mill.

We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. Each room is different, charming, and well equipped. The staff is fantastic and makes sure you are comfortable after personally showing you your room and explaining how everything works. Breakfast has always included wonderful pastries from the bakery down the street as well as many basic breakfast items. There is a very friendly and helpful breakfast host who is available to answer any questions about the area's activities.

We arrived late at night and were welcomed by Rick and Cheryl. We stayed in the Garden Suite! So charming and cozy on a cool and windy fall evening!

Can't beat location near bike trail and theater, great hospitality and ambiance of this converted mill. Also welcomes well behaved children, an unfortunately uncommon attribute in Lanesboro.

I didn't rate the dining because we were never up early enough to take advantage of the breakfast (perhaps breakfast is served too early for some). If you get a chance to stay in Lanesboro you should really stay here, it's a friendly and clean place to stay

Stone Mill Hotel and Suites was our first start on our B&B vacation. (My husband had not stayed at a B&B previously, so wasn't sure what to expect.) The room was adorable. We stayed in the Fishing Room - my dad was an avid fisherman and he passed away last year, so it reminded us of him a lot. We took a "tour" of all the rooms and they were all very cute! Rooms were clean - water was hot - facility was quiet. Breakfast was your basic continental, but the pastries were wonderful. Maybe add some greek yogurt to the fridge? Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help you. It was nice to be able to arrange for the Amish Tour at the hotel. The location is convenient to everything in Lanesboro. We will definitely be returning to Stone Mill and Lanesboro.

My wife and I spent a weekend in Lanesboro at the Stone Mill Hotel, and recommend it to all our friends. The town is lovely (great art shops, fun restaurants), the bike trails are fantastic (stop on the way for pie), and the theater company in Lanesboro is surprisingly first rate. They staged an intelligent and accessible "Arcadia" by Stoppard (a brilliant but difficult play) better, I think, that the NYC production. Stunning. And The Stone Mill Hotel was exceptional -- friendly, warm, great service, perfect location (a block from the theater). They have done a great renovation of an old mill, making spacious rooms with comfortable beds and fantastic water fixtures (our hot tub was terrific!). I highly recommend both a trip to Lanesboro to bike the trails, enjoy shopping, and see a play, and I highly recommend The Stone Mill Hotel. You'll have a blast.

I LOVE Lanesboro, been coming for 25 plus years!
The farming industry has helped Lanesboro and the surronding area to prosper for many years. The decor of this large country room lends itself to the haymow loft, farm animals, and surge milk bucket.
The Root River which runs through Lanesboro is well-known for its trout. Even when the day's fishing might have been less than abundant, the atmosphere of this room is more than plentiful. The narual decor of the Fishing room inculdes rods, lures, and fish. This room has a queen size bed.
A main attraction to Lanesboro is the Root River State Trail. Excellent for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing, the trail runs along towering limestone bluffs and through dense hardwood forests.
Several nearby state parks and forests in the area attract hunters, hikers, and bird watchers. Trees, leaves, and forest life set the nature scene for the Forest Suite.
The Lanesboro FEED MILL has always been a place where folks gather, bringing grains to be mixed and then sold again to the community. Now, the FEED MILL is a place where people come to rest and relax. Enjoy this lovingly restored room that includes vaulted ceiling, queen bed, and private bath
A large Amish population resides in the Lanesboro area. The Amish Room depicts a simpler way of life while providing you with authentic Amish collectibles, wares, and informational books. Yes, This room does have running water and electricity!
Nestled deep in a valley, Lanesboro's guests are sure to notice the many beautiful wildflowers, gardens, lovely butterflies, and their many friends. This large lofted room provides relaxation amongst the flowers, stepping stones, and garden decor.
Corn, soybeans, and oats were stored in wooden bins that sat in the location of the Grain Room. The original auger used to bring feed into the bins is still mounted to the ceiling. This richly-colored room also features a flour sifter, seed sower and wheat sheaves carved into the bedposts.
The Hen House is an adjoining room to the Egg Suite. Including extra long bunk beds and full bath, this room is perfect for a family or larger group of adults. This room can only be rented with rental of the Egg Jacuzzi Suite.
This large suite has 2 Bedrooms. It will sleep up to 6 people. There are 2 bathrooms for this room. Great room for families,
