We were warmly welcomed by the staff when we first arrived and shown to our cute room(Grandma Bell's room). They were able to accommodate my nutritional needs without compromising the delicious breakfasts they make! Go to breakfast hungry or bring your own doggy bag because the breakfast is huge! The other guests were great and easy to talk to as well. We will be planning our next stay at the Scanlan house real soon!

I picked this B&B because it looked like a castle and thought it was the best one in town. I was right! Loved everything it was a great decision to celebrate our anniversary! I loved the gardens if I stayed longer I would sit and enjoy the chilly weather. :)

My wife and I just celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary and had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at the Historic Scanlan House in the Safari Suite. Everything was perfect. The flowers and champagne I ordered for my wife were amazing. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated. The gourmet breakfast was also a treat. Our host went way out of her way to take care of all of the details. I highly recommend this property for a romantic Victorian getaway We’ll definitely be staying there again. Andrea and Dan

We stayed two nights in late Sept. Lanesboro is charming and Scanlan house is beautiful and host family very welcoming. The amazing 3 course breakfast lasted us well into the afternoon. Our room had a large jacuzzi but no shower. The queen size bed was very comfortable. Room felt a bit small but the lovely balcony more than made up for it. Overall a good value and would stay there again.

The house is awesome - from the woodwork to the decor to the flower gardens that surround it. Exactly how a B&B should look. The room was exquisite! Roomy and functional. The bed was great as well. But... It's the breakfast that made our trip. To simply sit down and have several courses served while chatting with the other guests - that made the stay at Scanlon the best we've ever had. If you're going to Lanesboro - I'd highly recommend staying here. We stayed one night but wished we stayed two. Next time we will.

This is a well kept historic home with orginal woodwork, period furnishings, and many little extras in terms of amenities. The hosts were very gracious and engaging and the breakfast was incredible. We also didn't realize how beautiful this area of Minnesota was - well worth a visit. We will be back for sure.

We stayed one night in the Steeple Suite and our friends were next door in the Sunrise Suite. It was perfect. The bed was gloriously comfortable, the shower nice and hot, ample and complete amenities. They even have a refrigerated cooler outside our suites stocked with beverages. There is a butler pantry near the kitchen that is available to guests 24 hours a day with hot beverages, ice and little candies. The decor is true to the era of the home with beautiful stained glass, lovely furnishings and woodwork. It is very clean and well kept. The landscaping and gardens are extraordinary, there was even a visiting garden society visiting the day we checked out. Breakfast is a gourmet, three course, thoughtfully prepared and presented feast. Yum! We enjoyed conversing the Kiersten, her mom Mary, and her brother David. It is obvious that they take great pride in everything they do! Thank you for making our time with you so special and personal!
