Restored in 1999/2000,Villa Calma is a 2678 sq. ft home built in 1910. Enjoy our large elevated deck facing the lake. Stretch out on a lounge chair and take a nap or sit under an umbrella and enjoy a cold beverage. The house is located in the middle of a large scenic piece of property surrounded by flower gardens, trees and a turn of the century original wrought iron fence on three sides. In the southeast corner of the yard is a bonfire pit. Play a yard game, lie on the double hammock or recline on a lounge chair and relax.
The Great Room; located on the main level is where you will not only enjoy a gourmet breakfast, but you can also sink into a sofa or chair and read a book, watch cable television, or a movie on DVD. We have a wide variety of movies to choose from. The view of Lake Bemidji from any of the 6 large windows in the Great Room is breathtaking. In the Great Room you will also find hot water for tea or hot chocolate and coffee.
Enjoy our wrap-around three season porch. Put your feet up and escape into moments of solitude or sit at one of 3 granite top bistro tables and play a game of checkers. All with a view of Lake Bemidji.

Prepare for your day at the antique vanity with mirror. From your bed or relaxing in your chair, you can enjoy watching the sun set over Bemidji. You won't have to carry your basket of Egyptian cotton bath sheets too far, as your shared full bath is located right outside your door. This room shares the bath with the guests in the Venice room. Dean and Theresa were wonderful hosts and delightful people too. The rooms are great, the grounds and views (even in the middle of winter) are beautiful. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the Villa Calma next time we're in Bemidji!

Dean and Theresa were the most gracious hosts I had the privelage of becoming acquainted with, my girlfriend and I had no idea what to expect, from the welcome at the door, to the picture of everyone staying in the house, it was a memory we will cherish for a long time, it was like no one was a stranger , the house was beautiful, the room was welcoming and so comfortable, I will b back, thank you Deanand Theresa , Larry and Kathleen

Kim and Harold were so welcoming and helpful, and their b and b is so calm and luxurious, we had a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again when the sun is shining and we can enjoy the balcony and beautiful back porch--we would recommend this b and b in any weather!

This was our first stay at a B&B and we don't ever want to stay in a hotel again if they are all like this one!! There were never any awkward moments. The other guests were so polite. The owners were very great at taking care of everything we needed. They even went the extra mile to make sure I had something to eat. I was nine weeks pregnant and they took into consideration my extreme morningsickness. Breakfast was awesome. The location couldn't have been more perfect, right on the lake in a beautiful neighborhood. There had been bad storms the week before and you really couldn't tell.

Highly recommend Villa Calma. Harold was a great host, friendly and accommodating without overdoing it. Left before breakfast was served but he sent a good continental bfast with me. Price was competitive with national hotel chains in the area.
