"We stayed 2 nights in the Beaufort Suite. The accommodations were outstanding-comfortable living room and bedroom. Wonderfully decorated!2 rocking chairs outside the room/a table with chairs also- The host was very friendly and helpful in selecting our choices for dinner at local restaurants. Sisters Dorthy and Nancy take care of your room and breakfast and are wonderful to talk to! The breakfast was wonderful- they bring it in 2 courses -just the right amount! Some things we ate were carribean french toast with a side of coconut and pineapple icecream (my favorite) to put on top if you wished, fruit- mango and kiwi, monkey bread, bacon and sausages. If we had time we would of liked to take the kayake out which is available for guests to use. You can clam right at the property at low tide also. There is a hammock to lay in and look at the water if you want to. The hosts have a boat that if you let them know ahead of time you can arrange for them to take you to the state park- Hammocks/Bear Island or take you on a sunset cruise. We just took the state ferry which is maybe 15 minutes away- went over to Bear Island which is a no trash island- we took our picnic lunch and combed the beach for shells. On the ferry we saw some baby dolphins close by jumping out of the water. We ate in Morehead- Chef 105 which was good but limited menu. The second night we ate closer by in Emerald Isle at Portofinos which is excellent!!! Moderately expensive but wonderful food and wine and dessert!!! The B and B is on the backwater so there is no beach but it is so relaxing. The suites are a little expensive but to us it was worth it - needed a comfortable get away and don't like generic hotels. The wonderful people, accommodations, breakfast and access to kayake and boat ride make it more than worth it! We stayed during high season and want to go back even off season! Wilmington, NC"
