Topliff's Tara is located in the tranquil countryside, within easy driving distance of charming downtown Williamston, numerous antique shops, Michigan State University, Michigan's capital city of Lansing, tennis courts, golf courses, theater, shopping and fine dining. The bed & breakfast is in the turn-of-the-century farm house portion of this grand country home on a 50 acre llama farm. Visitors may enjoy a stroll through the perennial gardens or visiting the woolly llamas in the big red barns and nearby pastures. In the winter, guests may cross country ski across wooded paths, and in warmer weather may be able to hike through the fields and woods. In addition to the bedrooms, guests can relax in the living room where they will find movies to watch, music, and a corn burning stove. There is a large video library for guests to enjoy. An open porch offers an inviting place for summer reading or relaxation and an outdoor hot tub is available year-round.
This room has a queen size bed and a private bathroom. It is the only bedroom on the first floor and has a double door entry for added privacy. The room decor reflects our love of gardening.
To celebrate our love of music, this bedroom is completed in a musical theme. The antique brass twin beds have been joined to form a King size bed. This room shares the ¿Bird Bathroom¿ with the guests from the Grandma¿s Quilts bedroom.
This room features quilts. It has antique four-poster twin beds and a matching walnut wash stand which has a sink with running water. This convenience was added for guests who are sharing a bathroom with the Musical Notes guests.
Our passion for llama fiber is reflected in this bedroom where guests will find a spinnin wheel located in the bathroom loft! This room has its own private bathroom and has a queen size bed. In-room TV and VCR.
This is our premier suite. It features hand crafted bedroom furniture and a whirlpool tub. This room with its king size bed and single pull-out sofa can accommodate up to three guests. In-room TV and VCR.

My husband and I stayed here for one night for a mini baby vacation while my mother watched our 7-month-old son. Cheryl, the proprietor, was very kind to us, and we especially enjoyed the chocolate muffins available during breakfast.

We went for a valentines day getaway and our expectations were exceeded in every way, from the hospitality to the beauty of the home, to the wonderful food. Located near the charming town of Williamston, which has just enough going on to keep you busy for a day or two of excellent restaurants, shopping, etc... Thanks to our hosts for a very nice weekend.

Laura was there to greet us and show us around . The home is beyond what we expected. Every room was decorated to perfection. You could see much love went into making this place warm and inviting. Laura was wonderful and made us some outstanding breakfast meals. Over the front door it said "come as a guest , leave as a friend". When I left I felt I had made two new friends. When we met Don he said this is your home while you are here, enjoy it.. He was so kind to take me and my friend (we are both big animal lovers) to the barn to meet his 22 llamas and one alpaca and he let us hand feed them. It was one of the most amazing things to experience . They are just the coolest animals and were so gentle when they ate out of our hands.. We will definitely go back to see our friends, both human and animal.. The place was impeccable!!!! Thank you so much, Don and Laura for a wonderful time.

All I can say is "'Wow." This was our first ever B & B stay, and I am convinced. The service was wonderful and accommodating. They let us come back to the house to take photos after our wedding and Laura even ironed my husband's shirt. The rooms were immaculate and beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. Thank you Don and Laura for an absolutely wonderful experience. The next time we return to the area, I'm sure we will be coming back for another visit,

What a treat it was to pull into the driveway of Topliff's Tara and enter the beauty of their B&B. We were greeted with warmth and hospitality from the minute we walked through the door. Fresh cookies, coffee, tea. A guided walk up to Attic Treasures and we were in the lap of luxery. The furnishings were beautiful and the whirlpool tub was so relaxing! Breakfast at 9:00. Perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Topliff's Tara is a favorite of mine. It is rural farm setting but an easy drive to Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos, Haslett, etc. Building is homey and food is well prepared and presented. The hosts Don and Cheryl are charming and friendly and the room was very pleasant and comfortable.

My husband and I stayed at Topliff's Tara the night of our wedding and it was definitely a great choice! The rooms are clean & cozy, the breakfast is delicious (the eggs were even local), and the staff were super friendly! The B&B is well maintained and has beautiful views from every window. The llamas are also a great addition. I look forward to staying at Topliff's Tara again soon.
