A true 'up-north' experience awaits you at Wind in the Pines B&B. Our beautiful log home is nestled among acres of pines offering peaceful, quiet relaxation. Enjoy the warmth and comfort of staying in a 'real' log home. Our three spacious guest rooms reflect the beauty of the north woods with their pine cone, bear and moose themes. We are located on the west side of Traverse City, just five miles from downtown. Our guests tell us that our location is ideal – away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to enjoy all that the area has to offer.
This comfortable main floor guest room offers a queen bed. The “en suite” bath has a tub/shower combination. Windows offer a view of the pines and our many feathered friends. This room is just off the living/dining guest common room offering easy access (no steps).
This large room located on the lower level is our most versatile, offering a king bed or two twin beds. In addition, there is an oversized comfortable chair that opens into a twin sleeper sofa for a third guest (additional charge may apply). Please note that a twin sleeper is narrower than a twin bed and therefore most suitable for children. The “en suite” bath has a large shower. A large window overlooks attractive landscaping and the guest patio area. Lower level guest rooms have access to a separate ground-floor entrance.
This spacious, octagonal room located on the lower level offers a queen bed. In addition you will find an oversized comfortable chair and a writing desk. The “en suite” bath has a large shower. Two windows offer an uninterrupted view of the pines and provide an ideal vantage point for bird watching. Lower level guest rooms have access to a separate ground-floor entrance. The Moose Room is located directly across the lower level entrance hall from the Bear Room making these two rooms ideal for couples or families traveling together.

We had a wonderful stay at the Wind in the Pines. Dietmar and Marion are the perfect hosts; they're available if you have a question but don't intrude on your stay. The B&B is immaculate and feels like 'home'. The breakfasts prepared by Marion are 5 star, making a great start to your day. The building was purpose built as a B&B so there aren't any compromises in terms of bath rooms, entry doors, etc. Wonderful Inn keepers, beautiful grounds, and gourmet breakfasts!

We always stay in B&B's if we can when we travel. This was one of the best. Beautiful surroundings, the rooms were good size and oh so comfy. Sofas and chairs begged to be sat in and just relax. The breakfasts were very yummy and you won't need to eat lunch later on. Dietmar and Marion are wonderful hosts. We definitely will stay again.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely, relaxing stay in the Moose Room at Wind in the Pines. Our room and the common areas were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The lawn and trees around the B&B are beautiful and make for a peaceful environment. Breakfast also was delicious and filling.

I enjoyed my stay at Wind in the Pines. It was the perfect setting for relaxation and rest and within minutes of Traverse City and a short drive from Sleeping Bear. The breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were friendly and welcoming.

On our recent trip up the Western Michigan coastline, Wind in the Pines was by far our favorite B & B! Everything about this place is top notch... the peaceful setting, easy-access and well-appointed rooms, DELICIOUS breakfast, and warm and friendly hosts! The access to the entire area is very convenient - we will stay here again if/when we get back to the area!
