Beautifully restored historic Lake Michigan resort bed & breakfast. One block to beach, three blocks to downtown. Walk to shops, restaurants, South Haven harbor and sunsets. Most rooms have private balconies and fireplaces. All are designer decorated with central air conditioning, private bathrooms and all of the latest amenities. A full gourmet breakfast is included. Common areas are our attractive living room and white wicker front porch which overlooks the park across the street. Seasonal outdoor heated pool. Private and quiet, yet in the middle of everything that's happening in South Haven. Unique and intimate.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay!! Only stayed one night but enjoyed the whole experience. Owners are very friendly. First Bed-N-Breakfast experience and it was a great one. Small, homey feeling. Short walk to downtown and the beach. Will definitely be going back to stay again.

Our stay could not have been nicer. The Inn was very nice and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had originally planned to stay three nights but extended our visit we were so pleased with the Inn and the area. Thanks to the staff for a great vacation stay!

Our fourth stay exceeded our expectations…as usual. With our favorite first floor room available our relaxation was assured. We stay here to relax and to swim at the beach that is only one block from the inn. On our last visit we met a great couple who are now our friends…they by coincidence live in an adjacent town. South Haven, Lake Michigan, friendly service, ultra clean rooms and great pricing are what draw us back time after time.

My wife and I stayed for four days at the end of August. Great room and we really enjoyed the balcony. Nice pool and comfortable lounge chairs. WiFi in our room was basically non existent. Breakfast was limited in choices and essentially the same each morning and not replenished in a timely manner as it was buffet style. Only one morning did we enjoy full size coffee cups and not have to use tea cups. Cleaning staff was raucous. Even tho online we couldnt book less than three night stay we met a couple at the pool who had just checked in for one night......hmmm. Great location but will probably try another B and B next time.
We would like to thank this guest for visiting the Sand Castle Inn and for taking the time to write a review of our Inn. Our entire staff reads and discusses these reviews, and they help us to constantly improve. The guest visited the Inn over Labor Day weekend and is correct that there is a three night minimum reservation on our holiday weekends. Labor Day is one of the three or four biggest weekends of the entire year, and all of the Inns in South Haven require minimum stays. There is a little puzzlement in that the guest stayed four nights, and the question presents itself: why would this guest complain about having to stay three nights if they chose to stay four? Anyway, as the Inn fills up on a weekend like this, other guests will reserve a Thursday, Friday, Saturday night which then allows us to open the Sunday night for a one night stay. And similarly, we will have guests reserve a Saturday, Sunday, Monday night which then allows us to offer a one night stay for the Friday night in that room. This will usually happen as we get closer to the weekend. The guest met a couple who had checked in for one night. This will happen under the above circumstances. Hopefully that will explain the guest’s “……..hmmm.” We are a little at a loss to address the guest’s other comments. In each case, this guest is the only guest this summer to complain of these issues. WIFI is available in all of our rooms and all of the common areas in the Inn. We did a check of WIFI in every room in the Inn this morning to confirm this. Our cleaning staff is comprised of a head housekeeper who has been with the Inn for 10 years and two housekeepers who have both been with the Inn multiple years. Were they disruptive, unpleasant or disrespectful, they would not still be with the Inn. The breakfast menu is changed each morning as are the homemade baked goods. It is replenished constantly during breakfast. The guest was able to enjoy freshly brewed Starbucks coffee each morning. We would urge this guest and all guests, if they need a coffee cup or something else, just ask. The guest enjoyed the room and balcony, the pool and comfortable lounge chairs. They also complimented the location, easy walking distance to Lake Michigan beaches, town and harbor. For all of those reading this review, please be sure to read the other reviews posted here. We would hope that this guest upon reflection will chose to visit the Sand Castle Inn on their next trip!
