Great gourmet breakfast, excellent location and friendly service. I would recommend this B & B to friends and stay there again.

We stayed in one of the "cabins" and really enjoyed ourselves. It was a one night stay and the service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious and the area is beautiful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

The room was fine, although the end table lamps wouldn't light. Comfy bed and bathroom had enough space. Very nice host and a charming historic place well kept. Morning coffee was delicious and hot! Breakfast on the porch was a real treat with tropical fresh fruit mix, scrumptious cranberry scones (with jam & whipped cream) and an impressive egg/english muffin/hollandaise main dish. A bit of a walk to downtown shopping and dining, but fine on a good weather day. Very nice!

Great ambience and the owners were terrific. My only quibble was the food, if you are at all a picky eater or want a basic breakfast this is not the place to go. But everything else was excellent!

It was such a sweet little B&B. Common area was full of sitting areas, reading material, and family photos. Rooms were nice and clean. Very much had the old, quaint B&B feel!

We booked the Beaujolais room for a relaxing weekend away from the kids. The room was very clean and the mattress was very soft. Usually when we would stay away from home we looked forward to getting back to our own bed, but this bed was so comfortable we discussed buying a new mattress!! Everything was very clean, Sarah was very friendly and made you feel right at home, the three course breakfast was the talk of the town! I am usually a cup of coffee and out the door person, so to have a three course breakfast was something I was not used to, but it was soo good! When you go into town and chat with the local merchants they ask you where are you staying. When they hear Twin Gables they immediately start talking about the breakfast! Highly recommend the Twin Gables Inn!!

Great location, can walk or bike into Saugatauk for a day of shopping and wine-tasting! Lovely view of the sunset from the large veranda. Breakfast was wonderful and served on that veranda with private tables for each guest room, so even the husbands can enjoy this one!! Highly recommend!

The room was fantastic. The sitting alcove with fireplace and windows overlooking the harbor were just perfect for relaxing. Very comfortable bed. The white noise machine was a great idea! Breakfast was a bit unusual but very tasty and the front porch setting for it was terrific. The staff was very helpful. We were not able to access the wi-fi which was a bit of a disappointment but otherwise it was great.

Michael and Margaret are outstanding hosts. A lot of the rooms upstairs are quite small, but tastefully decorated. The main floor has 3 large rooms and although I have not stayed in one, I did have the chance to see two of them which were very nice. For our second visit we stayed in the Vinter's Loft, which is separate from the house. It's roomy, simple with a nice bath with a shower hot tub combo. The tub is not really large enough for two people. The key to this room is the privacy you have being separated from the house. The king size bed is a little soft for me but not enough that I woke up with a sore back. There is a small fridge and sink in the room. Breakfast in the main house was again excellent, and there are all sorts of little treats and candy for a quick snack. Very enjoyable stay and of course, Saugatuck, Douglas, South Haven and Holland are all a great place to visit, especially in the summer.

Stayed three nights in the Napa Cottage. Nice and big living room, dinning room and kitchen. Bedrooms nice. One bath. Nice to have a micro, frig. and stove and two bedrooms as most bed and breakfasts only have one bed in a room with maybe a pull out couch if at that. Hard if you are trying to do a "girlfriend weekend of shopping".

Saugatuck is a city full of nice people and the Twin gables wasn't different. We had an amazing weekend. It is a very good place to rest and be close to nature. The service was awesome. Breakfast was delicious every day. We could felt the passion through the food and service.

I have nothing but POSITIVE things to say about the TGI- from the minute I checked in to the minute I left, the whole experience was outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!! The Vintner's Loft was just perfect, a hug comfy bed that I did not want to get out of, spacious bedroom and bath with jacuzzi tub. The microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator and an assortment of teas and coffees, as well as a wine bottle opener, were all nicely laid out in the corner of the room. The TV provided cable viewing and, being a hockey fan, this was most appreciated so that I would not miss any games! The breakfasts were healthy, nourishing, and diverse in their offerings- and VERY tasty! The 24/7 coffee/tea/refreshments and snack bar in the main house were wonderful, as were the comfortable sofas and chairs in the lounge area. A short three block walk to downtown and a beautiful view of the lake and sunsets from my room and the front of the inn. I found some great gifts and interesting finds in the Santa Fe store, next to it the Saugatuck Gallery, and across the street in Grins on Butler Ave. A most relaxing weekend. ALL IN ALL, a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! I'll be BACK!

This was the second time we stayed at Twin Gables Inn, and we enjoyed it once again. We stayed in the Beaujolais room, which was a nice step up from the Bordeaux room where we previously stayed. (Though it seems they've renovated the Bordeaux room since our last visit, and it looks great!) There were many more guests there at the same time as us than there were last time, but our room was still quiet. We used a Groupon discount, so the cost for 2 nights was very reasonable. The only complaint I have (and it's likely only because we got spoiled last time) is about accommodations for vegetarians at breakfast. Last time around, the vegetarian breakfasts were a wonderful vegetable quiche one morning and some kind of delicious cheesy egg dish the next. This time around, they seemed less prepared for vegetarians -- we had a choice of scrambled eggs or pancakes one morning, and then eggs benedict with the ham taken off the next. The server seemed startled that we were vegetarians. I probably wouldn't have been disappointed except that last time the food was SO good and I was looking forward to that level again.

We bought a Groupon and had a great experience in one of the cottages. So close to downtown, too!

Upon arrival we were met by the innkeeper and his sweet daughter and charming son. Our room was prepared for our arrival. I had actually called earlier that morning and our room was already ready. Upon arrival we asked for recommendations for dinner, which we found to be excellent. The room was cozy, quiet and relaxing. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious and relaxing breakfast which was served in a timely fashion by a very friendly and gracious staff. The common area was cozy and inviting. We are looking forward to returning in the future. Considering a Women's Weekend with friends.

The Inn keepers were amazing! The breakfasts were wonderful and delicious. Breakfast on the porch was beautiful. Sitting by the fire was so warm and cozy. Will definitely return!!

I cannot wait to return to Twin Gables Inn! The Innkeepers, Mr & Mrs Hall, were awesome: hospitable, friendly, and we received superior customer service. We stayed at the Bordeaux Room & it was beautiful; the Inn was very clean. We enjoyed the facilities very much, especially the self-serve coffee/tea/popcorn station. DVDs and a player were available in the receiving area & we saved some cash by staying in to enjoy their entertainment center. Breakfast was amazing! 3 course meal was filling and delicious. Definitely recommending Twin Gables to couples & families. It's worth the drive!

The rooms and house was very unique. The service was great. The breakfasts were supper. We also enjoyed Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Twin Gables Inn. The Inn was located in a perfect location. We were pleasantly surprised that the service, breakfast, and room were excellent. We will definitely come back again!

For my first time at a B&B, Twin Gables exceeded my expectations. We stayed int he Bordeaux room, which was comfortable and nicely equipped. I was expecting mid-eighties decor, but it was very modern and there was a gas fireplace in the room. Saugatuck is such a cute little town, but most of the restaurants were closed by 8 pm on a Saturday night (off-season?) They give you earplugs because the walls are paper-thin, but quiet hours are after 8 pm. Nothing a pillow behind a headboard can't fix :-)

We really enjoyed our stay at twin gables. The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was very delicious. The whole place is very homey and comfortable, and the location was perfect since we also wanted to see Holland and Douglas. We will definitely be returning for future visits.

My husband and I stayed at Twin Gables and found it a beautiful old house, with delicious breakfast, a quaint downtown, and, overall, a very restful experience.

Despite coming here in somewhat horrible weather, we had a great trip. My boyfriend and I were both sick anyway, so we just relaxed and enjoyed our time at Twin Gables. We can't wait to come back in the summer so that we can actually walk around Saugatuck! The only problem was that the wifi didn't work, but that's alright, because we're better off without it in a beautiful place like that! The breakfast was definitely my favourite part. It was very delicious.

This is our second visit and could not be happier. Everyone is friendly and we enjoy having our own cabin so we can spread out. Wonderful value.

They do a nice job to provide sound machines to drown out any unwanted noise. The rooms are fabulous and feel so cozy especially with the fireplace. Bathrooms are small, but who cares?!

My husband and I stayed at the B&B in the winter- we definitely plan to return in the summer. When we arrived we found that our room had been upgraded to a larger space with a fireplace- nice plus. We did peek at our original room, and though it's on the small side it would be fine for a couple. Everything was comfortable and clean; breakfast was tasty- it was super rich but staff were very willing to cook alternate dishes for anyone who found the featured meal too much. The innkeepers were on vacation the week we were there, so there was a 'sub' keeping an eye on things. The only downside to that- we didn't have the warm greeting we often have at B&Bs, but it was the winter so this was understandable. The inn is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from downtown Saugatuck, which is nice for summer when parking gets tough on the streets. My only advice would be that light sleepers should avoid the first floor rooms. They are right off the common spaces so we were happy to be tucked away in an upstairs corridor. We will be back!

This was a wonderful weekend get-away. Although we couldn't get the fire place to light, we still enjoyed the weekend and accommodations overall. The breakfasts were spectacular.

Nice, well-located b&b. Very nice breakfast. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We stayed on a Tuesday night, early November. The place was large and relatively empty. Our room was upgraded to one just across the hall. The room was warm, especially had the gas-powered fireplace running. The room had Xfinity cable, but the large screen TV in the downstairs common area was on Direct TV. The common area had a computer for internet access (as well as WiFi). The common area has a kitchen area with a sink, wine glasses, refrigerator, and canned soda. The breakfast area was elegant with a view of the water. We were served a delicious breakfast of Eggs Napoleon, fruit, and coffee cake. The site is a short drive to downtown Saugatuck. The only issue we had was that our bathroom was relatively small and it took a long time for the water to warm up.

Breakfast was fantastic each morning. Extremely pleasant staff. Rooms were clean. Although being on the 2nd floor during unseasonably warm weather caused the rooms to be quite warm. Overall I would recommend staying at the Inn.

We loved the breakfasts the most, I think. Delicious homemade treats and very accomodating for dietary restrictions! The only issue we had was the bathroom in our room, which was not big enough for two and the shower was hardly big enough for one, with terrible water pressure! But the bed was really comfortable and cozy!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. It was a quiet and peaceful getaway, which is what we were looking for. I rated the "Rooms" below average because the room we stayed in was terribly unlevel and sloped to one side. Not sure if other rooms were like this or not. We looked in a vacant room across the hall which had a fireplace and we would like to try that room in the future. Otherwise, the hospitality and breakfast were great. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a charming quaint inn and is only a 10 minute walk to town. We would have really appreciated an area map, restaurant and sightseeing guide being that it was our first time to Saugatuck. It was really busy when we checked in and the we didn't see any maps, brochures or guides to take with us. A lot of the rooms are very very tiny but we didn't spend a lot of time there. The great room and break fast room over looking the lake are a great feature of the inn. We think that the Twin Gables Inn offers a good value for the money. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

The am breakfasts were very good. Rooms a little smaller than some of the other B & B's I stayed in before. Overall a good experience and would recommend it.

It was outstanding; spent the weekened with our friends in a cottage. Had homemade gluten free scones made for me in the morning as I have celiac disease. It was a wonderful experience!

The bed was the most comfy. I could live in that bed. The food was excellent. They were so nice and helpful. I would go back and stay any time. Had such a good time.

This was our first time at a B&B, and it was a two-night stay for our honeymoon (longer vacation to follow later-on). After reading hundreds of reviews on Twin Gables, I couldn't wait for our visit. I read about the friendly people and owners who worked at the Inn, and how inviting and personal they made the stay feel. When I made the reservation, I noted it was for our honeymoon and received an email response of congratulations and that they were looking forward to having us. However, there was no personal touch, nor any friendly correspondence with the owners. I'm not sure if we even met them. We only had one person speak to us when we were there when we first arrived, with the exception of the two servers during our breakfast each day. They weren't rude or mean, it just wasn't the overwhelming "friendly" that I was looking forward to. Our stay was that of a hotel, minus the fantastic food. The room was small and we couldn't control the temperature, but other than that, it was easy to access and a great walking distance to downtown Saugatuck. We have no complaints on the Inn, just wished we had received that personal touch that we had anticipated for our first B&B stay. For the price it was worth it (Groupon), but I would not make the 3-hour drive to stay here again.

A great fall getaway! I used a Groupon and was able to book a very pretty room, with a view of the lake and a nice sitting area. The bathroom was very small, especially the shower, but everything else was great, and the breakfast was delicious. The Inn is extremely quiet.

We took advantage of a Groupon coupon to stay at Twin Gables for a birthday getaway for my husband. The room was lovely, a bit small but certainly adequate for an over-night stay. Service was excellent and the food was very nice.

We have been trying to get away a couple times each year to different Bed and Breakfast Inns within a 2 hour distance. We spent 2 nights and 3 days at Twin Gables this past week. We stayed in Vintner's Loft away from the main house and it was just lovely. The grounds were so pretty. We would definately recommend the Inn to others.

The staff was courteous and helpful. The Inn was quiet. Breakfasts were great! We enjoyed meeting and talking with other guests in the living room. It was nice to have the side yard with a sitting area near the pond. And there was lots to do in the area.

My husband and I took advantage of a groupon deal - I'm glad we did! Very nice inn - there were just a couple of things that threw me off. In all my stays at a B&B, I have always met the innkeepers or prioprietor of the inn. Here the inn seems to employ teenage or college age kids to take care of the guests. I never met the inn keepers, have no idea who they were. I also didn't like that as we were given our breakfast in stages, the food was not described as it was given to us. No clue what fruits were in the scone even though it tasted good - and the quiche - again, no clue what they used as a topping - it was just given to us and the server walked away. Other than those two negatives - the inn is beautiful. We stayed in the room called Beajulois and it is by far I think the best room in the house - you have a view of the lake and the sunset and it has it's own tiny sitting room - perfect! I would stay here again, if I received another good deal :)

Able to take advantage of a single night stay through a coupon. Dont know if I could have afforded otherwise. Definately worth while to stay - rooms clean, environment is quiet and well cared for.

My husband and I stayed at Twin Gables over the Labor Day weekend. This was our first stay at this B&B, though we have been to the area many times. To us, it is everything a B&B should be, and more. The home itself is beautiful and abounds with character. The decorating lends to the cozy atmosphere. Our room was cozy, private and comfortable. The daily breakfasts were absolutely delicious and above and beyond what other B&Bs in the area serve, both in quantity and quality, and they are served on the gorgeous enclosed front porch, which has a beautiful view of the harbor. While it was no problem to find someone to ask if we had a question, it was nice not to be hounded by the staff. The entire weekend was low-key and relaxing. Though Twin Gables is close to the Blue Star Highway, you'd never know it. It's set on a large piece of property and the grounds are beautiful and private - the outdoor pool was an added bonus. We walked to town each day - perfect distance. We've already made our next reservation here!

This B&B was extremely close to Oval Beach, Butler Street, and Douglas. They have great bike to use free of charge to get around. The rooms themselves were nothing extraordinary, not all include a bathtub or fireplace. However with so much to do in the area and such easy access we were hardly in the room anyway!

This was our first stay in Saugatuck and Twin Gables Inn was the perfect choice! The location was convenient to downtown and a short drive to spectacular Oval Beach. The Inn provides views of the harbor, too. Though our room was a little small, it was wonderfully decorated and even had a private bath (not common for a B&B). The guests were remarkably quiet even though there were no vacancies – super. Breakfast was a treat with fresh coffee, juice, fruit, a sweet and freshly made entree – all included with our rate. Highly recommend!

All aspects of TG stood out to us: the rooms were cute and clean, the service was extraordinary with a very friendly, young, and knowledgeable staff, the value was excellent with a hot breakfast, free hot drink and snack bar, free bike/lock and beach gear rentals, and a refrigerator to keep the food we brought and wine. Cozy, comfortable, and spacious common areas and beautiful grounds with lawns, pond and pool (albeit frigid) were great to relax in between outings. Finding TG via Groupon, my husband and I are in our late twenties and had low expectations assuming it would be run by an older staff and be run-down or sub-par as a result. It was anything but in every respect. The staff and owners were on it when it came to greeting, check-in, answering questions, and making us feel welcome. We had a really great time for two days biking around quiet, lush and breezy Douglas and Saugatuck. Oval beach, Douglas beach, downtown Douglas and Saugatuck and all the major must-sees were bikeable. We even attended a drum circle across from Felt Mansion which was so much fun. The only complaint was that even with closing the vents in our room we were freeeeezing at night with the AC blasting.

Nice experience overall-- enjoyed my room; staff was not very accessible but it is the off season. Enjoyed saugatuck a great deal--great dining, shopping, relaxing

I bought a Groupon for this inn and was not disappointed. Very clean; great location; comfortable bed; large bathroom. We had to leave early in the morning so I can't comment on the breakfast. We'll try that next time.

Arrived, pleasantly greeted. Inn was clean and well cared. Room, at end of hall, exceeded expectations. all was quiet, we had our own bath, bed was comfortable, room was pleasant. Breakfast was warm, served pleasantly, and outstanding. Will recommend to anyone staying in the area...oh, the bikes were fun, and included, a nice touch.

I have gone to this bed and breakfast a few times. The breakfast is always wonderful, and I love that they offer free bikes to use. Don't plan on the pool being heated, though. I like the pool area, but the water is always quite chilly even though the website says it is heated. I think some of the rooms are a little overpriced for what you get. I've been in some great rooms, as well as some pretty bad rooms. Generally, the rooms are fine, but some of the bathrooms are below standard for amenities, space, and cleanliness. I recommend paying the extra money and staying in the suites.

Very nice stay, worth the cost. Stayed in Semillion room. Nice size and more private feeling that some of the other rooms seemed.

The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff gave us information about good restaurants for dinner. We used two of the recomendations and were very happy with the food and service. I would go back to the Twin Gables again.

I've stayed in lots of B&B's all around the US as well as in Canada and Europe, so I've a wealth of experience to judge B&B's by. Twin Gables was nice enough. The room was nice -- cozy and comfy -- the amenities were nice as well; nice grounds, nice pool, nice dining area. The breakfast were so-so. They obviously are trying hard for 'sophistication' but not quite hitting the mark. They would be better served sticking to the 'hearty' breakfast or shell-out for a serious, well-seasoned chef. Still, all in all, this is a nice place for a quick get away. Nice walk to the shops and restarounts of Saugatuck and Douglas.

The entire B&B was absolutely wonderful! I only wish I could have stayed an entire week instead of only overnight (perhaps next summer!). I would strongly recommend this B&B to anyone!

Having our own little cottage and being able to cook in such a clean, comfortable place was perfect for us - walking distance from town, water across the street, our own driveway, outdoor table on a small deck...just great! (We didn't dine in the big house but I had to put a rating on this review or couldn't continue. A zillion dining options in town, which were wonderful.)

This was a charming place to stay for our first time in Saugatuck. We could walk downtown, and we were close to Douglas as well. The breakfast was quite substantial as well as delicious.

We were pleasantly surprised that the Twin Gables was so near to both downtown Saugatuck and Lake Michigan beaches and dunes. The bed was VERY comfortable, the staff very lively and friendly, and were very accomodating about bicycle use.

I wasn't sure what to expect at Twin Gables Inn, but it was well worth the price! There were many rooms, but yet it was very quiet! The only area that I don't believe can be corrected is the small size of the shower stall. However, it was in a great location! The food was delicious! I didn't use the pool, but it was nicely kept! We found a Groupon for Twin Gables Inn and were very impressed with the balance of historical integrity and modern amenities. Still slightly rustic, everything was very clean and fresh, and our room was cozy yet with a modern TV and comfortable bedding. The breakfast of a pastry, fruit salad, and quiche was delectable and the staff was extremely pleasant. Also of note is that the inn is in very close proximity to the main downtown Saugatuck area but also not on an overrun busy street, so we had plenty of privacy and sanctuary for our stay.

This was our third trip to Saugatuck. We have stayed in a different b & b everytime. This year we tried Twin Gables. Our stay was very nice. The proprietors were very nice, there was a pool to enjoy and the breakfasts were fantastic! I would definitely recommend the Twin Gables to anyone visiting the area.

The bed was sooo comfortable. Like sleeping on a cloud. We had to leave early in the morning so we missed the breakfast. A packed"to go" bag of fresh fruit and a yummy coffee cake was waiting for us. It made us wish we didn't have to leave so early!!!

I'll admit I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. What I found was a charming atmosphere and friendly people. The room was quaint, and although not terribly large, it was comfortable and cozy and very clean. The location was perfect; it was easy to find and I was able to walk to into downtown Saugatuck with ease. The breakfasts served were simply delicious and the service was both friendly and personal. I would definitely stay here again as well as recommend Twin Gables Inn to my family and friends.

We'd never stayed at a B & B before, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We came here on a recommendation of a friend. The location is close to everything we wanted to do. The decor is charming. We were served wonderful breakfasts, and they had great snacks and beverages available during the day. The inn has a beautiful garden area. We had a white noise machine in our room, which was nice since the location of the inn is at the corner of two well-traveled roads. We definitely recommend a stay here.

my girlfriend and i stayed in the pinot noir room for 1 night. 2 days was ot enough time to see all of the sights in town so i would recommend at least 3 full days. the stay here at TGI was fantastic. the place was very very clean and very cute. the beds were clean and very comfortable and bed bug free. the pool was nice, but was cold due to a few previous days of rain. there is a small pond and a fireplace in the back yard that anyone can use for free, as well as bikes that you can use to ride into town with. we would definitely stay here again.

The room was small and the floor sloped. The bed was softer than we like. I t was clean and quiet. Unfortunately, it rained so we could not use the bikes or the pool, which looked really nice. the breakfast was good (great coffe),but the room air conditioner was noisy. I think if we were able to use the amenities, the value would have been better.

We especially loved the pool and garden area, the breakfasts, and walking along the river. Thank you for your hospitality!

Good overall value. The breakfast was exceptional. The grounds were not kept up as well as they could have been. The people that cut the lawn should take it easier on the solar lighting. Hoses should be wrapped up and put away after use and sitting areas should be weeded and cleaned up for maximum enjoyment.

Twin Gables was a lovely old B&B. Its location was perfect, just a short walk into town but far enough away to be away from all the noise. The room was small but nice. The breakfast was excellent. We'd stay there gain

The Petite Syrah isa great value especially for Saugatuck. The room is probably better suited for a single person but my husband and I were able to manage just fine. The owners are very friendly and professional. When we had a small problem with the TV it was fixed immediately. The breakfasts are great. There is always a sweet and savory component so everyone gets something they like. I've stayed there before and I would definitely stay there again.

We were informed that the bedrooms are in the process of being updated. The one we stayed in definitely needed it (#3). The staff was very nice, the commons areas and outside were beautiful, and the breakfasts were tasty.

The room is clean. Looks very much like the picture. It's about 10 - 15 min walk to downtown. Glad that they have free bike rental. Breakfast is nice. The inn keepers are very friendly and helpful. There's a refrigerator for sharing in the common area if your room doesn't have one. Also, there are wine/champagne glasses that you can borrow if you need them. I LOVE the sheets! They are very comfy! I would go back again. :)

This was a last minute trip, so we had to find a place that had a room available. The Inn was easy to find, the location was pretty good. The room was small but it was comfortable. The bathroom floor was a little dirty, the Inn could use some fresh paint. The setting for the average breakfast was nice except for the loud window AC unit. The staff was pleasant enough. Over all it was just OK.

This the first time I have stayed at Twin Gables Inn. We were there for 3 days and two nights (July 5 & 6). The breakfast was VERY good and different each day . . . it was a nice way to start the day. The room was a little small . . . but we weren't there to hang out in the room. We used the in-ground pool and back yard area. It was peaceful and relaxing and the pool was excellent and refreshing. Only problem I had was that the towels were not replaced in our room the next day and we had to use towels for the pool . . . other than that, it was a very nice stay.

Twin Gables was very suitable for a quick weekend get away. The cost was appropriate and the location is excellent.

Our room was lovely & clean, but very cramped. There were snacks available in the lobby area, and a wonderful breakfast was served in the morning. Very convenient location for walking downtown.

Twin Gables was a very well maintained Bed and Breakfast. The facility and grounds were charming. The rooms were adorable and very clean (the linens, the baths, etc). The breakfast was spectacular. The innkeepers did a great job making us feel comfortable and welcome. I would definitely return!

I would stay there again, but reservations should be made farther in advance to get a bigger room. The innkeepers called in reservations for dinner and wine tasting, nice plus. GREAT LOCATION! 6 of us, 3 couples celebrated my wife's 50th birthday this summer in Saugatuck and stayed at Twin Gables.. The owners and staff were extremely helpful. Accomodations were OK.. larger rooms are downstairs and probably worth the extra money.. Breakfasts were outstanding. Overall a 4 Star experience.. would have been 5 if a little closer to town..

We moved out of state several years ago, and were excited to be traveling north to revisit old friends and family on the beautiful western coast of Michigan. We were happy to secure a room in this B&B as most others were booked and required a two night stay. We have stayed in several other B & B's in the area prior to this. Needless to say, for the price we were disappointed. The property is in need of an upgrade. Paint, plumbing, gardening, dated dusty decor. On the other hand, the Innkeeper was a delight. She was so helpful and really rolled out the carpet. Breakfast was good, service wonderful... (although the air conditioning was set at 60 degrees, we were all frozen on the porch!) It is an OK spot, we realize vintage homes are difficult so all was taken in stride.

Twin Gables is a big B&B (18 rooms), convenient to Saugatuck but not right downtown, which can get pretty busy on weekends. We stayed in a very small room (their only one) so we used the commons and grounds for our reading and relaxing: very nice. Breakfasts were tasty, well prepared, and had a nice variety. Give Twin Gables a try.

Beautiful old property in great location but innkeepers are uninterested if and when you report a problem. Three of us stayed two nights in Sonoma cottage with a toilet that would barely flush and at times would not flush at all. Reported this twice with no resolution. The second time I was told by a sarcastic young man "I've had better guests than you". The food was excellent but there are other choices for B & Bs in Saugatuck. .

I found the very uneven floors (7 -Claret) made it very difficult to stand and move around the room, especially at the outside wall. Your description of the room should point out that floors sag and are not recommened for older guests. Room rate should be about $75 /day for this room. Thank you for your fine service and very clean accommodations.

We enjoyed our stay at Twin Gables. We have stayed in different places on our visits to Saugatuck. This was, by far, our favorite. The room was clean and decorated well for a bed and breakfast.. There was ventilation and AC. We were greeted nicely, invited to enjoy the simple snacks and drinks, and given ideas to enoy while we were visiting. We di not walk into Saugatuck because of the intense heat, but it is certainly within walking distance. We enjoyed the pool after dark (although there were a few noisey frogs on the pool deck). The breakfast was very simple, yet delicious. My husband asked is they had gluten-free so they made him something special. It was very quiet. We will try to stay at Twin Gables again.

We found this sweet B&B through Groupon; we stayed for 2 nights in May to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary. Coming from NW Ohio, it was the perfect getaway for us to feel like we were "at the sea" -- even though it was really Lake Michigan! :) We loved exploring the sweet little city of Saugatuck during our stay, as well as Oval Beach and the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Beautiful community, and beautiful B&B! The breakfasts were outstanding, and our room was wonderful. We stayed in the "Vintner's Loft" and the bed was sooo comfortable! We loved it. :)

Our two night stay at the Twin Gables was very pleasant. Our two room suite was very clean and comfortable, conveniently located adjacent to the main floor gathering area. Breakfast was very good and the inn is a four block walk to downtown Saugatuck.

My husband and I was pleasantly surprised how cute the room was furnished. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a great view of the Kalamazoo River. The Inn was so adorable. The Innkeeper's really go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant.

The Twin Gables Inn is a definite must stay if you are planning a trip to Saugatauk, MI. Charming, excellent amenities, welcoming staff, and fantastic breakfast just for a few of the accolades! Beautiful garden and outdoor area, comfortable large sitting area with cozy corners if you want privacy. This fantastic Inn also has a pool-a rare find in a bed and breakfast. The fantastic history of the building and the evolution of this property are preserved with the innkeepers vision for the future.

My wife and I love getting to the west side of the state and Saugatuck/Douglas is one of our favorite spots. Twin Gables is a wonderful option. The room was plenty big, the breakfast was delicious, and the pool area was a nice bonus (I feel like most B&Bs don't have pools). It's within a five minute drive to Oval Beach, and probably a ten to fiteen minute walk downtown. My wife and I agree that while Saugatuck has more to offer in terms of shops, Douglas has much better food. Staying at Twin Gables allows you to enjoy the entire area. I definitely recommend staying here and we wll again.

I could pay the price of the room for the breakfast, just the breakfast. This bed and breakfast takes hospitality to a new level with 24/7 Stash tea, coffee, trail mix, popcorn, yummy salty crackers, etc. They have wine glasses and corkscrews in the common area which is actually pretty important to me. Their beds are comfy, the rooms vary in size but even the smaller ones are very charming. We did have a problem with slightly loud neighbors at 2:30.... :), typical timing. They weren't rowdy as the crowd here tends to be high class and laid back. While I was trying to find a white noise program on my ipad I noticed a white noise machine sitting next to it on the dresser...oh the irony. That and the ear plugs supplied in the bathroom worked like a charm ;). We have stayed multiple times and not had any problems, this was a rarity. The pool was deserted most of the time, which was unbelievable to me. It was relaxing and the grounds just reek of old world charm. The house itself is old, it is historic, it is magnificent! It is everything you want in a lakeside town. Saugatuck itself is my favorite Michigan city. Read the guest book in any store and you will find visitors from around the world! Saugatuck in literally an international tourist destination, but it never feels overcrowded somehow. I swear the entire city is magic! :) The owners are friendly and sweet but not intrusive. If you are lucky you will catch a glimpse of their ultra cute kids. Make sure you go to Oval Beach, climb Mount Baldhead (the view at the top is worth it!)and eat at Hercules, check out the museum, the yachts, shop at the olive oil shop, try the spice market and pick up some great items at the Santa Fe Trading Company . Then prepare to try to extend your stay at Twin Gables because #1 you never want to leave and two you haven't done 1/10th of the things to do! You will never want to leave :). This is our favorite bed and breakfast.

My husband and I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before our stay at Twin Gables Inn. We were encouraged to chose Twin Gables as we received a Groupon discount. We were absolutely delighted with the ambiance, location and overall warm we received at the Inn. To finish our stay we had a lovely morning breakfast. PERFECT! We will definitely be returning in the near future.

We have been to Saugatuck 3 times so far and we love going there. We stayed at Twin Gables because a Groupon for half price nights came our way. We just got back from staying 2 nights at Twin Gables and I have to say the breakfasts were amazing. I was determined to go to Ida's Red Cottage while we were up there but instead we ate at Twin Gables each morning because it was THAT GOOD. We got one of the smaller rooms because of the Groupon, The room was clean, comfy, cozy, and not littered with cuteness, which I had been worried about when considering a B & B. Small TV, which encourages not watching it. So I liked that. We are still exploring different places to stay and want to get a tiny bit closer to town next time, but my husband and I agreed that we would stay there again in the future, with our without a Groupon!

The location was excellent; the whole place was so quaint and charming and felt very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The pool and grounds were clean and well kept. The breakfast was incredible! Overall -- loved it!

Rooms were clean, cozy and had great beds! Breakfast was totally amazing, family who runs place are welcoming. Great set up for snacks and drinks. Community living area is very charming and comfortable. Bikes for use and pool was very refreshing. Would recommend this place for it's beauty, charm, price and great location. One of the few places on a beautiful road into Saugatuck...a great walk to town!

This was a wonderful stay. Our May was a busy month. Son graduated from college, another son got married and my wife's grandmother passed away. The grounds are dated, the rooms are very small and ours did not even have a closet to hang clothes in. The "Sitting Room" was 2 chairs at the bottom of the bed. The shower and linoleum in the bathroom looked like it was from the 70s. However, the breakfast was great every morning and the location was very convenient to downtown Saugatuck. They just need to invest a little money in upgrading the rooms and this place would be great.

Room was small, but could not beat the value (groupon special). Very clean and bed was super comfortable with better than average bed linens. Would definately visit again.

It was the perfect evening in a very quaint little town. We loved the views of the lake. The people were so friendly. The shopping was amazing! Loved this area. I highly recommend visiting Twin Gables Inn and spend some time in Saugatuck.

We enjoyed a one-night stay at the Twin Gables. It is conveniently located in Saugatuck and the room was comfortable enough. The innkeepers are friendly and the inn is very welcoming. Our room was nice, but the gas fireplace in the room wasn't working which was unfortunate because the weather was a bit chilly. Because the inn is located on a main drag, there is some street noise though it was not a problem for us on the day we visited. This is a nice inn and I would recommend it to others looking for a convenient place to stay in Saugatuck.

We stayed in the Loire Valley Cottage. The cottage was cozy and comfortable at the end of busy days of exploring Saugatuck with our son and future daughter-in-law. The inn is one of the wedding venues we were checking out.

Since years ago we were looking for a opportunity to experience the concept of B&B, it was all we imagined and a little more. The property and town gave us a friendly environment, the antique accessories at home and its well conservation captivate us.

This was our first experience staying at a B & B. We will return again. The staff is very friendly, the Inn is charming and historical and the breakfast was delicious.

My wife and I had a delightful stay. The ambience was very pleasant. The rooms were lovely. Best of all, the staff were gracious and welcoming. Breakfasts were superb. We would definitely recommend TGI to friends and acquaintances.

The Sonoma Cottage was very nice. The kitchen was nice with a fridge and microwave. However we didn't have coffee filters, but were able to get some from the main B&B. Within walking distance to the town of Saugatuck. Overall, I would recommend the Sonoma Cottage.

I stayed in the Petite Syrah room recently and was very happy. The room is small, as described, but very cozy. Breakfast was very excellent and the service was warm and friendly. I hope to return soon.

We had a truly enjoyable stay at Twin Gables Inn in Saugatuck! We were greeted promptly and professionally, given a tour of the facilities, and welcomed by Sarah, the attendant. David, the Innkeeper, stopped by our room later - we had a great chat and learned a lot about the history of the Inn and the plans in store for it. The 3-course breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the company of other guests. We will return!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the historic Twin Gables Inn. The room was bright and welcoming with a view of the harbor. Breakfast as delicious! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

This house is beautiful! The family who owns it is very warm and inviting. I have some dietary "issues" and they were very accommodating. The Inn is very close to a few different shopping towns and there are tons of places to dine/drink. The Inn even has an "entertainment" guide book so you can plan you days while you stay there. I recommend it highly!

Hospitality good. Rooms on upper level very small, no closets, but decor very nice and the bed very comfortable. To be honest only small amount of time was spent in room. Rooms on main floor much larger. Layout on main floor airy with lots of windows and light. Large sitting area, board games available. Sink, hot water, tea, coffee available 24/7 as well as snacks. Had a wonderful time.

Just stayed a few days here for a birthday gift and it was great! Food was some of the best I have ever had in a B&B and that is saying a lot since most are good. The rooms are small but nice. I really loved they have noise machines since I am a light sleeper and older places tend to be noisy. They even have ear plugs if you need them. It seems no inn keeper stays here all the time but I liked I could wander around without seeing another soul 99% of the time. I cam e during winter so most rooms were open and they have a great area with a pool that I will have to try in my next visit in Summer. My only complaint would be the shampoo and soap where on the cheap side. Maybe I am just spoiled but most of the places I have been to have high end products or hand made luxury soaps. Since this is really the worst thing I have to say I loved my relaxing stay and would go back in a heart beat.

The property was very nice. We went in February, but I am sure the gardens and pool are beautiful in the warmer months. We had a lovely stay.

Wonderful place in a great location with a great common area, breakfast, snack/drinks available 24 hrs. The staff were all wonderful. The one downfall- 1st floor rooms are right off common area so somewhat noisy in evening hours, during early breakfast hour and when staff's kids are awake and running around. Stay upstairs!

The B&B owners graciously upgraded our room free-of-charge since we were there in the off-season and pricier rooms were available. Our room had a king sized bed and gas fireplace. The breakfast provided in the morning was hearty and delicious (the cinnamon scone was the best I’ve ever had). The inn’s Common Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Complimentary hot beverages were available all day, as was a computer with internet service and lots of info about things to do in the area. Came home feeling very relaxed and refreshed after my stay at Twin Gables.

My fiancee and I needed a date night and chose this little place because it is so close to Grand Rapids. The hostess was very helpfull, the breakfast was great, the rooms were fine-although our bed was a tad uncomfortable. We like to watch hockey and the TV's in the rooms are quite small. -Thats OK we found something much more fun to do. ;-) I already have plans to stay again.

My husband and I went to Twin Gables for a short weekend retreat and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. We stayed in the Vintner's Loft, which was removed from the main house and off by itself and enjoyed the solitude. The Innkeeper was wonderful and breakfast the next day was utterly delicious!

It was a nice enough place, but the inn keepers weren't around much. We explained that we had to leave earlier than the 9:00 breakfast and were told someone would be up to at least to accomodate something on a lighter note. We waited in the morning and knocked on their door several times, to no avail. We just put the keys on the counter and left.

Having just finalized my divorse I wanted to get away for some peace and relaxation. Twin Gables was perfect!

I surprised my Christmas obsessed sister with a Christmas weekend at Twin Gables. Their all-inclusive package was amazing. The staff was so very nice to us and made extra effort to make all their guests felt at home. For example, I casually mentioned in an email how we love dessert wine, and sure enough, they had specially ordered dessert wine for us! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be going there again!

We booked out stay here because they offered a Groupon Deal. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked an extra night and they extended the Groupon rate even though they didn't have to. Danielle and David are warm, relaxed and friendly and provide a very comfortable and laid-back atmosphere. And the breakfasts are wonderful. I would highly recommend Twin Gables.

We got a groupon deal to stay here, and took advantage of it for 24 hours in the Saugatuck-South haven area. It was a great deal and a nice stay. Our room was a bit under-cared for, and the bathroom needed much work. The sink faucet did not work well, making cold/hot difficult. But otherwise, the atmosphere was very peasant, and the breakfast was very good. We would stay again.

We stayed for a weekend in November. The Bed and Breakfast is very large with lots of rooms. The place is very well decorated and has alot of nice antique decor. Our room was a nice size with a warm fireplace! The service was great and the breakfasts were so filling and very delicious. Sometimes the goal of staying at a Bed and Breakfast is to meet and visit with the other guests and if that is your goal, this isn't the place for you. Everyone has breakfast at individual tables and so you don't get alot of socilization with others. If, however, you are looking for a place where you can get away and do your own thing, this is definitely a great place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Twin Gables Inn and our time in Saugatuck.

We stayed at the Twin Gables in July, 2011. The first thing that we noticed was that the entry door was locked and the bell was broken so we had to wait until someone came out so that we could check in. The room we stayed in was seperate from the house and it was perfect. Very private. he one draw back to this B&B was that it was very far from the downtown area and right off the highway. For the price I would definately pick a B&B that was closer to the downtown area.

Mold around caulking in shower. You could smell it in the bathroom. Need to clean the shower with strong bleach solution to kill the mold.

What a wonderful place to stay. We had our own cottage. They left us a key and let us settle in at our convenience. In the morning, the staff welcomed us warmly with a scrumptious breakfast! We like our privacy and this was perfect for us.

We only stayed one night. Rooms are a bit tight, however I felt the price was reasonable and the breakfast was very good. Nice location, nice grounds, clean. I loved the diningarea and common area. I would stay here again.

Our first visit to Twin Gables in September 2011 was a very positive experience. The oversized room, large casual (and quiet) lobby, and great breakfasts were complimented with outstanding service. Within walking distance to downtown was a bonus. Plenty assortment of fresh coffee and goodies. Even a small frig. in our room. Also centrally located to Holland, and a short drive to the Fenville winery and restaurant (home made pies)! Try it - you can't go wrong. Also a quiet garden in back and an outdoor pool. Scads of nearby fruit farms. We will be back!

Lighting in the bathroom was inadequate, just the light from the exhaust fan. The dresser had no lamp on it. So there was really no place where I could see to put on my makeup. After the room was serviced while we were out all day we came back to find that my suitcase which had been upright on the floor had been knocked over, and my coat was on the floor underneath it. Overall the inn is very nice and conveniently located. Breakfast was outstanding.

Wonderful! The room was beautiful, however due to it being an older building, the flooring was uneven, therefore if you have a gait instability, DO NOT stay in The Riesling. Luckily, we have good balance. This did affect our sleeping because one would roll onto the other due to the imbalance. However, breakfast was great, hospitality and location was perfect. We would stay here again!

We love the Saugatuck/Douglas area. B&B is about 10-15 min walk from main street, which is quite nice when the weather cooperates. The staff wasn't as friendly as we thought they would be. The innkeeper/staff's children or grandchildren can be heard running around in the morning while eating breakfast. We heard them both mornings. Love the breakfast porch with smaller tables. Breakfast food was good.

First, I was surprised at how large the grounds were. I haven't stayed there before and didnt expect the large yard, fire pit, and pond. The pool was great, and I used it the first nite we were there. The breakfast was not only delicious, but served with the utmost respect for each person. Very nice server! We did have to ask a couple of times for things that were not working properly,...fireplace,..pilot lit wasnt lit,... couldn't find the hot chocolate...our room was mixed up with another and we were given the wrong room at first. .. But on the whole, we did enjoy our stay and loved the look of the large living room, dining room, and pool area. The bed also we ultra comfortable! We would stay there again.

The Twin Gables was a great place to stay. With its view of Lake Kalamazoo, close to both downtown and Blue Star highway, the location is great. The staff were great, always helpful and went out of their way to keep the exterior clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our staff even on a long holiday weekend. Every breakfast was different and even better than we expected.

This is a pretty place. I wondered why there were ear plugs and a noise machine in the room....The man next door snored all night and I heard him..... Too bad!
