An 1843 Restored Stagecoach Inn - The Best Kept Secret in Southwest Michigan. Nestled on the confluence of the St Joseph River and Little Portage Creek this Historic Inn offers 7 rooms in the Main Historic Building, 2 Jacuzzi/Fireplace Suites in the Stables and 5 luxury rooms in the secluded African Safari Lodge at the back of the property. Dine in the Original Wakeman House Dining Room which used to dine guests in the early 1900's. Full Breakfasts, Fireside Picnics in the room or dining in the Inn are all choices you can make. The Inn sits on 14 acres with woods, an island with rapids and the shortest covered bridge in Michigan. It boasts its own canoe dock and offers the best canoeing & kayaking water in the Midwest. The canoe trails are affiliated with the Water Heritage Trail. Come and enjoy rural Michigan at its finest.

Policies
- Minimum stay required (2 nights on weekends in season only (June thru Oct) Sun - Thurs discounts)
- Smoking is not allowed (All rooms are non-smoking , designated smoking areas)
- We cannot accommodate guest pets (We love animals however other guests might not!)
- Limitations on children staying (We love children but the Inn is not designed for children)
- No childcare is provided (All children require adult supervision)
- Consumption of alcohol is permitted (Social drinking allowed - bring your own)
- Deposit amount required (50 % deposit required immediately with balance on arrival.)
- Check in time is 3 PM and Check out time is 11 Noon
- Cancellations:
7-day cancellation policy with $25 cancellation fee. Deposit refunded if cancellation is received 7 days in advance. If last minute cancellation is unavoidable and we are able to re-rent the room, the refund will apply. If you fail to cancel you will be liable for full lodging. 30 day cancellation for special inn events and group bookings. Rates subject to change without notice. - Accepted by the following agencies:

Friendly, congenial couple from South Africa who desire their guests comfort, enjoyment, & relaxation in their rural setting. They enjoy canoeing, reading, antiqueing, cooking, sharing time with guests & visiting. Geff is an International Chef who loves to cook interanational cuisine for his guests. Dinners are a culinary delight. - The innkeepers speak: Dutch/Afrikaans, English
