The Dutch Room is filled with many different types of rare and beautiful woods--around windows, framing a floor-to-ceiling mirror, and even in the floor: there, the intricate inlaid wood floor with its optical lighting gives the rooms a starry quality at night. The room is outfitted with an ornate tiger maple king-sized bed that truly makes your feel like the "King of the Castle." This suite was know as Mrs Henderson private quarter...who communicate with the Italian suite , late Mr Henderson private suite...
Sunrise in the Italian Room creates a magnificent dance of rainbows reflecting through the original leaded glass panes in the tower windows.
The colorful hand painted tin ceiling and the carved wood furnishings give the Tibetan Room a rich vibrant feeling. The hand painted tile mural in the bathroom showcases the history of the region the room is named for.Also in the ceiling is encrusted some more fiber optic light who glow and change color slowly in the dark...very spiritual ambiance.

The second floor hallway with the original stain glass window of the stairway...Colored with gold powder at the time, this window face the North. The sun rays will hit the window only couples of times every year at the solstice... The legend says than all the rubies shine together in one light beam who point in the castle the exact location where Mr Henderson hide his treasure....

The French Room has a warm elegant feel to it. In the winter months the radiant heated floor provides a comfortable cozy space. In the summer the beautiful Pavilion Garden seen from the windows provides a calming view from morning til dusk.

The Italian suite is located within the South main Tower of the Henderson Castle. That was Mr Henderson private suite. Green marble heated floor imported from Italia, King size bed , 13 head Hydrotherapy shower with marble floor and a walking closet large enough for a bedroom is the amenities of this suite who could be connected to the Dutch suite who was Mrs Henderson private quarter at the time...
The earth sky room on the main floor is our handicap accessible suite. Heated marble floor imported from Italia. Beautiful allegoric hand painted ceiling with a full representation of the Constellation with hundreds of fiber optic light who represent the stars constellation...Just amazing site...The Earth-Sky Room is a reflection of change through the history of the Castle and showcases touches from each of its past through present owners. Not seen from this view is a colorful mural of the Zodiac on the ceiling, intertwined with fiber optics depicting the constellations. The hand picked tile of the radiant heated floor gives the impression of a forest in the moonlight when you enter the room.

We had a magical stay at the Henderson Castle. The location is ideal for evening walks through the beautiful neighborhoods of Kalamazoo. The Innkeeper and the waitress/cleaning person were kind and not too present. The food was superb and in the evening we could smell the wonderful dinners being prepared throughout the whole castle. The rooms were clean and we felt that we had enough privacy to enjoy a romantic getaway. Thank you Francois. We will be back!

Room after room, view after view, tons of welcome and beautiful places to explore!! I love to stay at Bed and Breakfast locations when I travel or am celebrating an event so the chance to stay at a castle was one I did not want to miss! Henderson Castle truly delivers a full royal experience, I fell in love with the rooms and all the attention to detail. The Master Chef and owner was always available and welcoming, even invited us into his kitchen for a quick photo!! I can not wait to visit again.

Stayed at Guest Cottage for my Daughters Birthdays so we had both rooms and 7 Girls all 10 and under. The rooms where much bigger then I expected and the girls loved the hot tub. The staff was very friendly and the Owner went out of his way to make sure the girls had a good time. He made them a great breakfast and took a picture with them in his very cool kitchen. Cant say enough about this trip was so much fun. Thanks you so much for making our trip special and something they will always remember.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Henderson Castle in early September 2012, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The castle is beautiful and in excellent condition; the breakfast was delicious, and Francois made us feel as if we were visiting with friends. Although we arrived too late to take advantage of the rooftop hot tub, it was obvious that that would have been a highlight. My daughter was booked into the spectacular "Earth Room" and confessed that she did a little happy dance when we left her for the night. I don't think it was because we had been crowding her. : ) The experience definitely changed our minds about using Bed & Breakfasts in the future. I would definitely recommend the Henderson Castle to anybody that is travelling near Kalamazoo!
