Heritage Manor Inn

My husband and I love our times at Heritage Manor. My husband is not one that likes to go to the same place twice but we have gone here for the past two years for our anniversary & look forward to when we can return. We always have a very nice and relaxing stay. The breakfast is homecooking & AMAZING!! And of course, the famous choclate chip cookies in the kitchen. We enjoy the indoor pool and the jacuzzi in the room. The only thing I don't care for is the country style decor but we enjoy our stay & look forward to going back.

Pros: This place had a lot of good things happening - beautiful setting, unique rooms, reasonable rates, and friendly innkeepers. We loved the smell of the wood-burning furnace when we went outside. Cons:The bathroom was a bit small, and if you're on the first floor you will hear everything that goes on in the room above you. Overall we enjoyed our stay, as Ross and Diane were so friendly that it made it easier to overlook those issues.

Everything was perfect from start to finish! Ross and Diane were lovely hosts! The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The fireplace and jacuzzi were a wonderful addition and helped ease the chill of a cold winter's day. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. We could not have asked for a nicer stay. We highly recommend Heritage Manor!

Our stay at the Heritage Manor Inn was relaxing and very enjoyable. The room was very nice and clean. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the jacuzzi. The service from Ross and Diane was outstanding. The breakfast was delicious and timely. We plan to stay at Heritage again in the future. Very good value for the price.

What a waste of $$$ - even at the "bargain" winter mid week rate of $106. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, pillows thin and blankets threadbare. Hot tub was so full of bleach that I got a headache from the odor. The host collects money upfront - but I should have run as soon as I saw the room. This is not a proper bed and breakfast - its a motel with breakfast. Host had family staying and they had a party in the "common area" so there was no place to sit comfortably and quietly and read or talk. Shower stall and bathroom were unusable. Dust on ledges and drafts from under the door and window (one very tiny window). I should have eaten the no cancellation $$ and found lodging elsewhere. I can't really comment about the food because we fled as soon as we thought we could find an open coffee house.

Our stay was wonderful...the owners were very friendly and accomadating, rooms are decorated nicely with little touches that make you feel at home, breakfast was delicious and the price very reasonable....we will be visiting again when we visit Hope College and Sagatuck area. thank you!

We were the only people in the place, but service wasn't any less. We had a great night, and we thank you. Wonderful breakfast! Room was very hot, but a fan was provided upon request.

This was our first experience staying at a B&B. Overall, it was quiet, clean, and tidy. My husband loved the in-room jacuzzi! The breakfast food was nothing to write home about. The food was okay, not outstanding. Breakfast was also kind of late - serving began at 9, they said, but could start serving at 8:30 if we needed it. We're early risers, so this was at least an hour later than what we're used to. The setting is lovely, the home quaint. It was only half full (15 rooms total) and that was nice so we didn't feel rushed or crowded when we were dining or parking. Our stay was in late September, so the Fall-Color crowd hadn't descended upon the area as of yet. There was plenty to sight-see and restaurants also within a ten-minute drive. We love Lake Michigan and it was a quick drive from Heritage Manor. Would go again and recommend.

It was nice get away, clean rooms, good location, breakfast is homemade. Some issues with wifi. Lack of coffee and tea in the rooms, though coffee maker is there. Not enough of toilettries supply. Bad smell of water. Suggest to offer bottle of water in the room or at least mention to guests to bring their own supply. Overall it was good.

the beach was very clean and the water was perfect, the shops in town were great, the room wasn't the one i thought i signed up for but it worked out even though the bed was tooo small.....the hot tub was so green my wife and i couldn't use it

We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend a larger hot water tank or an upgrade in plumbing. There was an issue with the shower water going from scalding to cold during high use periods in the morning. Still, it was a nice room, and friendly operators, and it was very close to the beach and shops in Saugatuck and Douglas. I would recommend it to travelers.

This was a very nice place to stay. Owners were very helpful and friendly. The room itself was large, but the bathroom wasn't. If you are tall or a larger person, you will have a tough time sitting on the throne and closing the door without smacking your knees! lol They have a large common area, 2 dining areas, an indoor pool and a kitchen for guests to use if they want to. We never really went outside to check the grounds, but I believe there was a play area for kids. Breakfast was good. The portions put out for the guests on the buffet weren't large, but by keeping them small you were guaranteed hot food because they had to refill them more often. This B&B is close enough to all the points of interest, yet far enough away to be out of the hubbub. We enjoyed our stay very much and would go back again, but we'd request a different room with a "normal" bathroom (yes, they have them).

The Ross family was very nice. Rooms were average. It was somewhat awkward since they lived there too. When coming into the kitchen at night, etc I felt like I was disrupting them. They were very friendly though.

Very disappointing experience. My friend and I stayed in the 'townhouses' in the back of the home for two nights. As two ladies traveling, we wanted our own rooms. It was evident that no special touches had been added and no updating had been done in many many years. There was an old outdated couch in the living room, a table and chairs that did not match or look in good shape in the kitchen. The two upstairs bedrooms had bedding that looked like it was 30 years old, and washed every week. The bathroom was outdated with no hair dryer. I had to walk down to the main breakfast area to ask for a dryer. No coffee cups without chips in the kitchen in our unit. We skipped the coffee. At least there were two plastic chairs on the front lawn as we tried to spend as little time as possible in the unit. Breakfast was a pot luck. Going to a Bed and Breakfast is a special treat and to spend over $500.00 for two nights here was a shame. I would never recommend this place.

We enjoyed our 2 nights at the B & B. The owners were fun and provided a good breakfast. Everything was clean and in good repair. The location was great--close to the beach and the dune buggies. It was an easy drive into Holland or to get a boat ride. We would book this again.

Very easy to find. Rooms were clean. Snacks provided. Very helpful with site-seeing suggestions. I would go there again.

This was our first time staying at a B&b and it was the best experience ever. Initially thought it might be awkward but it was the complete opposite. The owners have this great welcoming vibe and were helpful in everything. They also make Great Breakfast! Loved the pool and the location was great. Already recommending this place to others. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

I would highly recommend staying here. It is not as fancy as some bed and breakfasts, but it is a very nice place for a reasonable price. The owners are wonderful and they welcomed us with open arms. The breakfast was delicious and served with a smile! I also liked being outside of town and just a mile from the lake. If I visit this area again, I will definitely stay here.

My girlfriend and I stayed their for our 5 year anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. We stayed in one of the jacuzzi suites and we couldn't have asked for anything more. It was so much more than I expected and she fell in love from the moment we pulled in the driveway. I highly recommend staying here especially if it is for a romantic weekend for two.

This was our 4th stay here & this time I brought my Daughter and her family! They loved it as well. I think it's going to be a family stay every year now!

This has become an annual vacation getaway stop, and the accommodations are exceptional every time. Been here 5 times now, different rooms each time, and same quality stay each trip.

This wonderful bed and breakfast helped to make our vacation a very memorable one. Our stay was a warm and quiet one, which is exactly what we wanted. The owners were extremely hospitable and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It is very misleading to call this place a Bed & Breakfast; Heritage Manor is a roadside hotel. Ross and Diane are friendly hotel owners, but they are not gracious and attentive B&B operators. This is a decent, clean and centrally located hotel, but it is not a Bed & Breakfast. I paid extra for a B&B experience and a B&B experience is something Heritage Manor cannot provide. At a B&B, I expect my room to be finished by a skilled hand; this place has DIY’er all over it. From the sinking steps that weren’t properly footed to the Wal-Mart bath fixtures. I don’t need 8” solid oak trim or even crown molding, but I do expect a level of craft and skill. I expect a breakfast presented in a way that would make Martha Stewart smile. It doesn’t need to be china or crystal, but eggs served in the quart casserole dish that they were microwaved in… not B&B to me. Get some baskets or pretty plates for the muffins and, please, invest in a hotplate. Basic hotel expectations were not met. Even Clarion and Microtel puts 3 sheets on the bed so that one doesn’t have to sleep with the bedspread against their face. Not at Heritage Manor, the bedspread (with no extra sheet to cover it) was the only blanket in room. A blow dryer on the bathroom wall and a folding luggage stand are standard hotel effects; not offered. There was no closet, wardrobe or even some sort of rod; Ross directed me to the pegged coat stand when I asked where to hang my clothes. The TV was an old bulky model with the cable box balancing on top and an old-school A/B box on the floor behind the table to switch between cable and DVD. There is so much more, little things that on their own don’t matter, but add up to a disappointing experience. I’ll leave you with this picture: At the mechanic I go to, he has a cardboard box full of various snack items for sale and a can to put the money in. Heritage Manor had the exact same box. That’s their idea of how a “B&B” offers snacks to its guest.

As if having a jacuzzi and fireplace in every room isn't enough to make your stay relaxing and magical, the surrounding towns are full of great restaurants and abounding with points of interest. Ross and Diane will welcome you with their warmth and charm (and fabulous homecooked food)!

Stayed there for our 20 year wedding anniversary. Room was nice, and the fireplace & jacuzzi were the highlights of the room. The overall noise level was loud, typical BB, could hear people in the other rooms. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and the sofa really needs to replaced. Ross was as helpful and nice as any could be. Breakfast was good. If you are looking for slight upgrade from the the standard BB than this is a good place to stay.

My husband and I booked the room so we could relax. His prerequisite was that it have a hot tub. We really enjoyed the hot tub so our expectation was met. There was a pool but we decided not to swim, but that as another reason we decided to stay here. The bed was very comfortable, which was a plus. We've stayed at other bed and breakfasts and they were very personable. I can't say I can say the same this time. He would talk to us if we talked to him first, but she didn't talk to us at all. We did enjoy our stay though.

Spent 3 nights here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. The rooms was great with a fireplace & jacuzzi, breakfast was delicous and the hosts were friendly and caring!

They really treated girlfriend and myself well. Good food, good hospitality, and wonderful rooms all at a great price. I'd love to stay again.

Excellent accommodations, friendly helpful staff and wonderful surrounding city w/ info guides available in each room. Aside from the irregular temperatures in our Jacuzzi room (went from cold to hot quite easily), we were impressed once again with the Heritage Manor and all it had to offer.

We were delightfully surprised when our room had a fire place. It offered warmth and romance since we just checked out of a hotel that had very little heat and I had just dumped a jug of water on myself , don't ask. It was one of those days. I had just about enough of anniversary when my husband pulled into your B&B. Thank-you for your wonderfull hospitable. We will definitely be back again and we will tell our friends! Loved every bit of our stay. Saugatuck is an amazing town with friendly locals and a very clean downtown area. Our stay at the Manor was memorable, relaxing, and warm! We were welcomed by Ross and Diane and completely enjoyed our two nights there. Breakfasts were hot, delicious, and plentiful. We'll be back!

Two bedroom suite was very clean and comforatble for the 3 of us who shared it. Girls getaway. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh in season fruits, homemade bread and pastries, perfect scambled eggs and delicious sausage. Easy quick drive to Saugatuck where there was much to do. I would definitly go here again!

I planned a surprise weekend getaway with my husband. I wanted to have some alone time before our 5th child arrived. We were immediately greeted by Ross who was very helpful in showing us the room, how the hot tub worked, telling us about the area, etc. The room was cute. It was a combination of country/rustic. The shower was small, but worked great. The bed was comfortable.. no complaints. Being 6 months pregnant, I was a little disappointed that the hot tub wasn't the kind usually found in hotel rooms (in my experience anyway) that you fill up yourself. As such, it was too hot for me to get into. However, Ross told us how to turn the heat off and it had cooled off enough for me to enjoy by the next day. Breakfast at Heritage Manor was great. There was a nice variety of breakfast items, everything was fresh and the atmosphere was cozy and family-feeling. We didn't use the pool area, although it looked clean, but small. I definitely look forward to visiting Heritage Manor again in the winter time when we can take advantage of the fireplace in the room and a hot dip in the jacuzzi!

The units are very overpriced. Although clean, rooms were very dated and not well lighted. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.

We found the Heritage Monor to be less than we had hoped. The room was OK, but not what it should have been for the price. "Tacky" would be the word I would use. You could hear the people all all sides of your room. Not a place I would ever to to again.

The sofa bed in this room should have been retired about 20 years ago. True, the hotel does make it clear that it should only sleep kids. However, I would recommend that no on SIT on this sofa, much less sleep on it. We removed the thin mattress and placed it on the floor. To say that this room has a kitchenette is an exaggeration. There is no sink or burner. What you have is a microwave and a fridge. Breakfast does not start until 9. Yes, you read correctly-9 o'clock. If you are an early riser, don't stay here. The breakfast was good, but we were shocked when we finished the loaf of bread, there was no more for additional guests who arrived later for breakfast. They need to make more food so everyone has enough to eat. also, chafing dishes would be nice to keep the hot foods hot. Who wants to eat cold eggs? Overall, I cannot recommend staying at his b and b. It was a disappointment and it was not cheap.

The Heritage Manor Inn is a great, small Inn with a really welcoming feeling to it. The owners were very hospitable and quick to help me out when I had trouble getting onto the internet. Although I slept in a little too late for the best of breakfast, breakfast - from what I heard, in addition to my own experience - was delicious. My one small disappointment was with the room in which I stayed. When a storm came in the night, I discovered a leak in the bathroom ceiling. However, the room in all other ways was great and I believe the owners were unaware of the leak and I hope they will address that problem soon.

The room was small but we knew it would be and that's all we needed. Loved the skylight in the bathroom. The grounds were beautiful, peaceful, and very kid-friendly. The breakfasts were wonderful!!!! Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. All in all it was a great get away place and when we are in the area we will definitely stay here again.

Our daughters (3 and 5) have appreciated the place and the swimming-pool. A lot of space for playing, running, jumping... Very good place for staying with young children.

The room was what we were looking for. Heritage Manor was a great place to stay, service was great and would deffinetly go again. Staff was very freindly.

Everything about the Inn was just great, from meeting the owners when we checked in to having breakfast the next morning. Just a really nice place to stay and relax!

Me and my husband were just married and took our honey moon here, it was more than what i expected!! very quite and relaxing, the room( red rose) was so nice i could have stayed there forever. Not only are the owners very nice to talk to but man does she make a mean breakfast!! it's in a country setting but close to town for shopping. I would recommend this place to anyone and WILL recommend to everyone. We will be returning this summer to share this place with the rest of our family. Thank you for having us~!

The stay was nice and relaxing, but the bed was not the best. It was extremely uncomfortable and made it very difficult to get any restful sleep. The jacuzzi in-room was the best part of the stay. The food wasn't very filling and it gave us a stomach ache both mornings. The owners were nice and welcoming and overall, the stay was nice.

This was my girlfriend and I's first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we will definitely come back! This place was amazing and for the price, you could not find a more budget friendly romantic getaway that was worth every penny.

We have stayed at the Heritage Manor in twice now. No matter what I search for in amenities ~ I always end up at ~ Heritage Manor Inn!

A great spot for a weekend or week-long getaway. The innkeepers were very friendly and the inn was beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend it!

a great place for a romantic getaway. a toasty fire, a bubbling hot tub, snow softly falling, quiet reconnection with my soulmate. ross & diane are superb hosts, attentive yet unobtrusive, great conversationalists, warm & friendly. convenient to saugatuck & douglas for shopping and meals; the breakfast buffet was delicious.

We stayed in the Harbor Room for - very nice room, loved the hottub and the fireplace! Breakfast was wonderful. Pool area was a little discolored on the sides and the whirlpool wasn't hot, so we didn't use them - would have been wonderful to be able to enjoy those aspects of the inn also. Loved the layout of the house, would definately come back sometime and stay again!

Wonderful place, wonderful owners! One of my parents was having a health episode and couldn't go up to our second floor suite; Diane quickly offered an additional room on the main level and even discounted the rate. Truly comfortable rooms, friendly and kind owners, great breakfast, nice pool, lovely quiet setting close to everything. The only downside was that every time I passed the cookie jar I couldn't resist snagging a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie! :-) We will come back for sure!

This was our first time going to a B&B, and I really enjoyed it. The house is in good condition and has a lot of nice wood accents and architecture. The pool is really nice, and the jacuzzi rooms is a nice touch. We really liked the fire place in the middle of the room as well. Ross and his family were very friendly and informational hosts with a lot of great recommendations. I would visit here again.

During our time in Michigan, we spent three nights at Heritage Manor. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and were very impressed with the size of the rooms, as well as with the amount of storage space available. Breakfast every morning was delicious - we were never served the same thing twice! It was convenient to have a kitchen available for our use and a refrigerator for food storage. Ross and Diane were wonderful hosts and offered us several great suggestions about things to do while we were in the area. We especially enjoyed the local beaches. The main purpose of our family vacation was to get away and relax - Heritage Manor was the perfect place to do just that!

My husband and I desperately needed a sanity break from our stressful life. The Heritage Manor Inn owners were very nice and accomidating. The room that we stayed in was beautiful. It was very clean and had everything that we needed for a peaceful evening. The hottub and fireplace was the perfect touch. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and there was more then enough to choose from. The place is just a few minutes from town, but gives you a country feel. We would definately stay there again. My only complaint was that you sometimes could hear ppl walking around in the room above us, but that could happen anywhere. I highly recommend it to anyone.

This bed and breakfast is excellent. It is in a charming location with access to Lake Michigan. It is warm, cozy and very inviting. The owners are wonderful and serve an excellent breakfast. Definately worth the money.

Ross and Diane were very friendly and helpful. We had many small children with us and liked having the playground in the backyard and the indoor pool. We were close to lots of fun things to do, and would definitely like to come back!

Very Nice Experience This was Our first time in a Bed and Breakfast and We were Quite Surprised. The Hosts (Ross and Diane) were Great, the Food (Breakfast) was Outstanding. and We really enjoyed the little things like Fresh Cookies, Popcorn and the free DVD selection. This would be a great choice for a Family Reunion or a Church Retreat.

We have stayed here three-times now, and each time was great. Ross and Diane are very attentive hosts (and they make the best breakfast buffet!). The rooms are themed and very romantic. It is also great for children. They have an indoor pool, small playground, DVD players (and DVD's to borrow) and homemade cookies in the community cookie jar. You cannot find a nicer and friendly place to stay near Lake Michigan!!

We enjoyed staying here overnight. The room was beautiful and having a jacuzzi in the room made it even more special. The rooms are very private. A homemade breakfast and great conversation with the hosts - we will go back again.

My Fiance and I decided to got away for a weekend near Christmas istead of buying each other presents. And are we glad we did, the Heratige Manor Inn is run by a very down to earth, very hospitable couple. We stayed in there Tiffany Suite, which included a amazing hot tub and fireplace. The surrounding area offers many small town shops aswell as good home country cooking diners. The house is archetectuial masterpiece. Breakfast is also very delicious. We are sure to return in the futre and we both agreed it was the most romantic weekend of our lives.

I'd like to start by saying that the breakfast provided by the heritage Manor Inn was excellent! However there were a few details regarding my B&B stay that didn't meet my expectations. The water had a "rotten egg" odor which made basic grooming tasks somewhat unpleasant. I stayed for two nights and was disappointed to return to our suite on the second day to find out that the beds had not been changed in the second room of our family suite. Overall, the inkeepers were pleasant but these issues did put a slight damper on our stay.

We spent 2 days at this bed and breakfast and both were enjoyable. Ross and Diane were both buys making sure guests were tended to and that all needs were met. Our room was large and the Jaccuzi was very nice to relax in every night. Breakfast was good, but crowded at times. I did have to wait a couple times, but it was worth the wait. Certainly would consider this estabishment again in the future.

Beautiful and quiet getaway - breakfast wonderful and plentiful. Hosts accomodating to our needs. Location perfect - near beaches and shopping and restaurants. Would definitely come again and highly recommend to others!

We stayed at the Heritage Manor Inn last July and we loved it. Although not in Saugatuck proper, Saugatuck, as well as other great destinations like South Haven, were only a couple of minutes away. We were so close to so many great attractions, and the inn was really nice. I loved the family style buffet breakfasts, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Heritage Manor Inn was fabulous! The room was charming with lots of personal touches. It was just what my husband and I needed. It was very romantic and I have already booked our next stay!
