Bellaire Bed & Breakfast

Jim and Dave exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean and the house was beautiful. The gardens outside was very enjoyable to walk through, many variety of plants and Jim was very knowledgeable about all of them. The breakfasts were out of this world and the scones and muffins that Dave made fresh each morning were delicious. It was a short walk into town if you wanted ice cream, or you could go to Shorts for beers that you will never have anyplace else. Very nice stay and we plan on returning soon.

This was my very first time at a Bed & Breakfast. I must admit it was an amazing experience and we look forward to coming back soon. We have already recommended this B&B to numerous friends. The hosts, Jim & Dave are such nice people...very personable & fun!

Thank you for the lovely getaway. My wife and I were celebrating and found our room to be perfect for relaxing, and Bellaire is always a great place because of Shortz and Siren Hall in Elk Rapids. Great service at breakfast and a very nice social hour to start off our stay. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I stayed the night in one of the more modest rooms. It was a small room, but the overall experience was great! And we felt our stay had a lot of bang for the buck. The Inn Keepers Jim and David were prompt, friendly, and very accommodating. We would go back in a heartbeat. We LOVED that we had access to mug club member mugs at the local brewery, Short's Brewing Co. The room was cozy and had cookies waiting for us when we arrived. The joint bathroom was clean and had little soaps, shampoos, q-tips etc. Bubble bath was supplied for the large bathtub. There were extra blankets and pillows too. Pretty much anything you might need was in reach. Breakfast was delicious and filling. They served us scones, herb eggs, sausage, and some awesome bacon of their own recipe. If you wanted the recipe for something they cooked, they would gladly print one out for you. I thought that was a cool touch.

From the moment we arrived to the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. The Vintage room, while a little small, was charming and clean. Additionally, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. In the evening, we took advantage of the library, which was stocked with up to date magazines, along with plenty of classical books. The hosts did an amazing job making us feel comfortable at breakfast, which was absolutely delicious! Everything was homemade and hot out of the oven. We would certainly go back again someday!

We had a great stay at this B&B. Dave and Jim were very nice and welcoming.

I was looking to get away from an extremely hectic life for three days. My room was quiet, the house was quiet, breakfast was delicious. I did very little that I was planning on doing during the day; just soaked up the peace and quiet and watched the lilacs' leaves burst out. It was absolutely perfect.

The best B&B we have stayed at. You will be hard pressed to find another B&B like this in regards to their facilities and breakfast.

Been to 17 different B & B's. This is the only one we keep going back to. The hosts, the house, the breakfasts and the area great.

My wife and I stayed for the 2nd time at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast from April 1st thru 3rd, 2013. We wanted a chance to get away from our busy home lives and just unwind for a few days. Our stay at the BB&B was exactly what we needed. Dave and Jim go above and beyond in the attention to detail category to make your stay with them feel like you're staying with an old friend. I can't say enough about the breakfasts- phenomenial! With Short's Brewery a stumbling distance up the road and Traverse City within a 45 minute drive you have access to everything you need nearby. I went to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for a mommy's time-out:) I have stayed there several times before and always find it relaxing. The attention to detail from the hosts is exemplary.

My wife and I are always looking for a B&B that we consider a “go to” B&B. This B&B is it. Jim, Dave, and Sue may you feel so comfortable from the time you enter to the time you leave. They are committed to excellence. When I said I was recently diagnosed with Gluten intolerance, instead of making a breakfast for me, making me self-conscious, they made a delicious breakfast entrée for everyone. They even shared where they buy gluten free flour, and shared several of their recipes. Another example of their caring attitude was when one of the guests was disappointed that they didn’t have a certain tea. The next day David had the tea on the table. David had made a special trip that day to buy the tea. The guest said, “David didn’t have to do that”. Sue said, “Oh, well, that’s just David!” We are going to come back here for such great caring people.

If you decide to stay at Bellaire B & B you are in for a treat! This is an amazing place. The beautiful rooms (although the pictures on their website are lovely, they truly don't do them justice), the delicious breakfasts and the tastefully selected wines for the daily wine/social hour are all reflective of Jim's and Dave's attention to detail and thoughtfulness. These are two innkeepers that surely know how to welcome and create a comfortable environment for their guests. The more time you spend with them the more you like them and see that their hand is in all the goodness that is Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to coming back!

A beautiful house; all the rooms are very attractive and accurately depicted on the website. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Every breakfast was delicious; I am a vegetarian and there were always meatless options included for me. The town, itself, is quite charming; everything (shops, restaurants, etc.) is within easy walking distance and Traverse City, Petoskey and Charlevoix are all 45 minutes to an hour's drive away. I have already re-booked for next year, does that say something?

We have stayed here four times now and can't wait to go back. The rooms are luxurious and meticulously kept; breakfasts are delicious and creative, and the house itself is beautiful. Make a trip down that tree-lined drive and you won't want to leave.

What a wonderful weekend we had staying at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast! David and Jim are the best hosts. They made us feel very welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. And the breakfasts that were served were beyond our expectations! The Bellaire B and B provides an Oasis for a traveler. Exceeds by a large margin any lodging in the area. All lodging details are well thought out and provided. Friendly hosts and staff are wonderful and helpful. Will stay again when back in Bellaire.

My daughter and son-in-law took my husband and myself up to the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast to celebrate our birthday's which are a day apart. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and they couldn't have chosen a better one.The place is outstanding! The rooms are so cozy and comfortable and our hosts were so inviting making our weekend stay there an absolute pleasure. The location is excellent. It was within walking distance to town where we also experienced our first visit to Shorts Brewery which we heard so much about. I would definately stay at this B&B again and have recommended it to several of my friends.I also need to mention the fabulous breakfast's we were served everyday....Delicious!!!!!

In addition to our room exceeding our expectations, the location of the BB&B was convenient to the town. Being close to town was great because there are some wonderful restaurants to experience. The hosts were very accommodating. We also enjoyed the lounge area with fireplace and morning coffee, really comfortable and a great place to relax!

Impeccable service, great food, happy happy hour, can & should walk home from Short's. Les & Michele will be back again.

We booked two rooms at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast to celebrate my mom's 60th Birthday and my dad's 61st Birthday. My parents had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and loved their expereince. From the cookies left on the bed side to the wonderful morning breakfast they were impressed with all the details. They even enjoyed a beer at Shorts in a mug (one of the highlights for them). My husband and I have been staying at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the last three years. We love the Bellaire area and always have a wonderful stay with David and Jim. My mom keeps asking me now when we are going back becuase they want to tag along on our next trip. Probably should have kept this place a secret from them :)

This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast for myself and my boyfriend. Our expectations for the weekend were exceeded. Rooms were very clean, welcomed us with fresh baked cookies daily. Rooms were cleaned while we ate breakfast. Breakfast - the food was amazing! There was no shortage of food and it tasted great! Dave and Jim were excellent hosts. I will definately recommend this place to others!

David and Jim were excellent hosts, the breakfasts were exceptional, the local travelling advice was informed and useful. They were well aware of what to do know matter what we wanted to do (mill store in Alden, restaurants in Elk Rapids, or shopping in Traverse City). We'll return.

Best place in the area to stay. Lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts. Dave and Jim are great hosts. Walking distance to town with good restaurants and nice shops.

What can I say? It was fabulous from start to finish. We were pampered, well fed, entertained, given gracious accomodations in a beautiful setting. There are fresh cookies, a guest refrigerator, bubble bath and clawfoot tubs. Jim and Dave are charming, each contributing their own special talents. and their staff are helpful. We read by the fireplace, enjoyed wine and appetizers. The price was fantastic and I will be back, again and again.

Loved the B&B, Only thing I didn't like was the speech givin at Breakfast about not forgetting any power chargers, laptop charges, phone charges ect. I was trying to enjoy the companyof the other guest at the dinning room table. The speech was over the top and I felt totally not necessary!

We will definatly be coming back to Bellaire B&B when we stay in Bellaire!! The service was fantastic! Dave was right! Once you stay at a B&B you'll never want to go to a hotel again! Love these guys! Wonderful service, great company and very very clean and tidy rooms. Stumbling distance from the main street of Bellaire. :)

Weekend stay was warm and inviting with Jim awaiting our arrival with a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary. The Tuscany room exceeded our expectations. Sugar plum bacon was a treat in itself. The entire breakfast was exceptional. A stay will be worth every minute.

Had an excellent stay only 1 night though, wish we could've stayed longer. Jim & Dave were great hosts, they're B&B was an excellent place to stay. It was just a short walk to downtown Bellaire and the Short's brewery, I will be staying again.

It is always a great time when we stay at Bellaire B&B. The food is awesome! Dave and Jim are always very friendly and always there if you should need anything. It's a wonderful place to stay. We stayed at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the Short's Brewery weekend. This was our third stay at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are charming and the breakfasts are out of this world. The B&B hosted the Shorts Brewery dinner, pairing microbrew with wonderful food for dinner. We went with another couple and enjoyed playing board games in the living room in the evening. This is a great way to spend a weekend.

The motto here is "Above and Beyond", and this is what you experience. The hosts and staff are amazing people; the breakfasts are second to none; the atmosphere is one of "Welcome to your home away from home -- only better!" We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here a few years ago, and now this B&B is our "up north" destination -- our 7th visit. Close enough for day trips to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, Charlevoix and Petoskey, to name a few. Stay at the Bellaire B&B. You will not be disappointed.

We celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary with a trip to Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. We were met with a lovely gift from the innkeepers. The accommodations are amazing and the food is even more amazing. The location is great as you can day trip to many wonderful Michigan gems!!

I have staye at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast before and found it delightful and class then, as it is now. I highly recommend it for a comfortable, homey stay. I especially like the parlor in the morning where I could read the newspaper and enjoy coffee before everyone else was awake. It was perfect.

Room was beautiful and clean. Food was wonderful and we took some exta home. Dave and Jim are great hosts. We stay here as often as possible, but always on our anniversary and birthday. They always provide something special for those special dates. We also give gift certificates to friends so they can experience the great B & B.

Comfortable, tranquil, with friendly good service. My wife and. I have stayed here 4 times now and it has always been pleasant. The B&B is about a half hour drive to places like Traverse City so it is convenient.

We have made Bellaire a bi-annual getaway. It is beautiful in all seasons, although we enjoy the room so much that sometimes we come out only for meals! The breakfast is always incredible -- gourmet dishes made from unique recipes that keep one satisfied until supper. We also love LuLu's Bistro, just down the street, for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

Loved our room; forgot we had no shower. We prefer showers. Everything else was A+. This was our 2nd time here. Hope to return again. Bonnie

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to relax, whether by yourself or with a group. Dave and Jim as well as their staff are warm and friendly; their attention to detail is impeccable. We have been coming to Bellaire Bed and Breakfast several times a year for the last 15 years and and have also brought many friends who have now become regulars as well. Luxurious accommodations in a beautiful setting. Friendly innkeepers and staff, good food and wine, and downtown Bellaire just a few blocks away. We love the inexpensive Homespun room. It's a great value.

We have been to the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast three times. Each time we stay we can't get over all the beautiful furnishings, the cleanliness of the entire place and the wonderfully, delicious breakfasts. We would recommend this bed and breafast to anyone over and over again.

We have stayed here several times and it is our favorite B&B. Always clean and neat, all the little details are always taken care of, and the food and hospitalty are excellent.

We recently stayed at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfeast and found it to be a perfect spot for our 2 day getaway. The owner was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and a hot bubblebath in the claw foot tub was a treat. Breakfast was fabulous and the company outsatinding. Bed wasn't very comfortable but the rest of the experience was great!

As a single female traveler who frequents B&B's, I was happy to experience and happy to report that the hospitality, comfort, and genuine concern by the Innkeepers is excellent! The breakfast is outstanding with attention given to each guest's dietary needs. In my case, I was surprised to enjoy a substitute protein( I am vegetarian) as well as an array of local and healthy yummy food! The Innkeepers were also generous with their time, mapping out local excursions and sharing insider knowledge. I would definitely recommend this B&B for couples and singles and can't wait to go back!

My Wife and I would recommend staying here for any travel in Northern Michigan. Jim and Dave made you feel like you've known them for years.The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic. They were very helpful with things to do as well as where to dine.

This was our fourth stay at B B&B and that is saying a lot for us as we rarely go back to the same place twice! The rooms are just as they are pictured on their website, cozy, clean and comfortable. Dave and Jim set the standard for bed and breakfast stays. They are warm kind people that truly enjoy sharing their home (and recipes!) with others. Bellaire is a beautiful friendly town with nice shops and great restaurants that are all within walking distance. After breakfast maps, suggestions and recommendations are provided to make your day more enjoyable as you explore the area. My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights here, and had a great experience. We arrived late on Friday, which was after the owners packed up, and found an envelope with the keys and welcome letter. There were cookies waiting for us in the room. The next morning, we were greeted by the owners, and breakfast was very yummy. The candied bacon was delicious! We were also given a map and detailed directions to the places we wanted to go. They also provide a good supply of bottled and can drinks, snacks and energy bars to grab for the road. The next morning, we had an equally yummy breakfast, and even get to pack the leftover bread back. They had a tandem bicycle which we rode to downtown and it was lots of fun. The place is cozy, clean and warm. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place.

A true gem in northern Michigan. The property is a peaceful haven with lovely gardens and a tree lined drive. It's a short walk away to bustling little downtown/small town complete with a brew pub. The Tuscan room was just right and Dave and Jim were wonderful inn keepers. A have to say though...it's the creme brulee french toast with masticated raspberries that I have been dreaming about...yum Joni (and Marty) Detwiler

The rooms are beautiful and immaculate! The breakfast was delicious. I've made a few of the recipes in their newsletter and they were great. We had a wonderful time. So glad we stayed there. Jim and David are wonderful people and the make you feel very welcomed.

The grounds and house are absolutely beautiful. The decor is perfect, not overdone or tacky in the least (as is often the case at B&Bs). The food is beyond amazing. Knowing we were going to Short's for dinner and a few brews, Jim and David made sure to let us know the B&B has mugs available for use by their guests, which was a pleasant bonus. Strong WiFi signal throughout. Jim and David are wonderful hosts who obviously enjoy what they do. I can't recommend a stay here more.

There is not one single thing that these 2 gracious hosts have not thought to provide.

The details of the rooms equal if not surpass a 5-star hotel. Peaceful setting with great restaurants in the vicinity. Scrumptious breakfast... "eat eat, make papa proud", and adjusted for my non-cholesterol diet! Such a special setting! This place seems to attract such interesting people, which makes the evening wine tastings, hosted by Jim & Dave, that much more fun. We stayed four nights and wish we could have stayed longer. One day we just toured the wineries in the area! Another day antiquing, then the food, then the water sports... splendid vacation.

We had a great time at the Bellaire B&B. The location is convenient to events in Traverse City but a nice break from the hussle there. The home is beautiful and the hosts welcoming. We hope to visit again.

It was just a wonderful stay and we are preparing for the next time we go up there. Don't stay at a hotel, motel when you can stay with family...that is what these people become. My husband and always stay at B&Bs or small inns. We love old homes. This is the best-maintained old home we have stayed in. Often we are a bit disappointed that the home is still in need of much TLC. It was nice for a change to stay in an older home where the windows were clean. The hosts were gracious and attended to much detail. The only draw back we encountered was insufficient lighting for putting on my makeup (a small problem).

This was a return visit to the Bellaire B and B and we will be back!! Fabulous!! We met so many nice people from around the US- Dave and Jim are the perfect hosts- the breakfasts are wonderful beyond words and we then didn't eat until dinner- well we did enjoy Happy Hour at the B and B from 5-6 with Jim and Dave and most of the guests. There are so many fun places to drive to and you can also walk into town to eat- drink and shop! The rooms- CLEAN doesn't describe how clean they are- and the rooms are so well decorated. You feel like you are the first ones to be in the room- along with homemade chocolate chip cookies by your bed at night!! :)) Please don't miss this one- FABULOUS!!

What a perfect way to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary! Every detail was A-1 starting with the complimentary bottle of champagne. Bellaire is so very lovely and the grounds / gardens add the extra special touch. Gourmet breakfast by Dave was exceptional and we enjoyed the wine get together at cocktail hourwhere we met some very interesting fellow guests. Enjoyed exploring the area which offers quaint little towns with fancy dancy shops. We will surely return.

Under the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast literature are the words "Above and Beyond". These words aptly describe our experience staying in this lovely home. Innkeepers, Jim and David, went above and beyond what we would expect in making our stay memorable and enjoyable. And we would need more superlatives to describe the wonderful breakfast they served. We have stayed at bed and breakfasts in the US and Europe, and rate the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast at the top of our list.

We recently stayed at Bellaire B&B and loved every moment of our stay. The inn is beautiful and meticulously kept, our room was gorgeous, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful and attentive. Our gourmet breakfast was delicious and fun, and our hosts even prepared to-go containers with left over baked goods for our trip home. We will definitely make the trip all the way back up to Bellaire just to stay with them again. (Jim & David may have ruined B&B's everywhere for us, because I don't think anyone else can compare!)

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful B&B. Happy hour every evening at 5 and if that was not enough, homemade cookies on the night stand before bed! The breakfast was the finest I have ever tasted B&B style. I am not kidding, the food was fabulous. And last but not least the hosts Dave and Jim, were attentive and delightful. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

We have stayed at 6-8 different B&B's, and this was by far the most positive experience we have had. Breakfast both mornings of our stay was amazing! We barely ate the rest of the day, and we took leftovers with us each day.... We will be back!

Totally relaxing. Great location within short walk to the quaint downtown shopping and eating establishments. Caring innkeepers who went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Well pleased with the entire experience.

Our stay was lovely, beginning with a tree-lined drive up to beautiful grounds and a greeting at the door by one of the inn keepers. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and offered plenty of relaxation. Social hour in the evenings included great company, good wine and a tasty treat. Breakfast was much the same with good converstaion among guests, amazing food and a perfect start to the day! Perhaps our favorite part of the stay was the little "fairies" that snuck up to your room every chance they got to replenish your towels, tidy up, draw your shades and turn down your bed. They would even leave fresh baked cookies each time! We were impressed with the service and will DEFINITELY be returning again soon.

This was the best bed and breakfast that my husband and I have ever been to. The hospitality was outstanding! The food delicious! We will definitely be back! The only recommendation that I would have is to place TV's in the rooms.

We loved our stay at Bellaire and HIGHLY recommend it! A very pleasant, engaging and funny greeting from Jim got us started. Great restaurant recommendations led us to a fun dinner at Short's Brewery. The room was beautiful, and the Mrs. raved about it the entire stay. We had the Eastlake room, with a perfect small, private deck accessed by French doors. I would have liked the bed to be a bit softer, but I've had lots of back problems so I'm likely not a good baseline. Breakfast on our first morning really can't be described in mere words. Dave is a magnificent chef, with VERY creative dishes that we loved. I really can't say enough about the food! Everything served on both of our mornings was wonderful. On our only full day we took a drive up the Leelenau peninsula. Bellaire is close enough for the drive to be pleasant, but no so close as to be too busy when returning in the evening. Wine hour (5:00 to 6:00) on our full day was outstanding. We're not wine experts by any means, so we took Jim's suggestions and he was spot on. We had great conversation with some of the other guests and with Jim and Dave. It was absolutely amazing how much the two of them knew about EVERYTHING in the area. Dave helped out another couple with kayak rentals with a simple phone to a nearby town. They seemed to know everyone and everything. It was a great time. We will be back. This is our second stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast and it was just as wonderful as the first. We plan to visit again next year! We love the place.

This is our 2nd time staying at Bellaire B&B. We really love the location to downtown Bellaire . The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and give great recommendations. The breakfast is great, especially if you enjoy sweeter breakfasts! The house and land is beautiful. Overall, it is a great place to stay.

Staying with David and Jim is always a wonderful experience. From the room design to the thoughtful items in the room, cookies on the bed stand and enjoying a glass of wine on the breezway it's all designed to make you feel special. Breakfasts are always amazing along with the company.

I booked a B&B as a suggestion from my significant other. I had never stayed at a B&B before, and we were going to be in the Bellaire area for a charity event, and to celebrate his birthday. I spent days researching places in the area, and came upon Bellaire B&B. To make a long story short, we arrived at the Bellaire B&B, and my breath was taken away. We were greeted at the door with warmth and a smile. The grounds were well landscaped, and the interior well-organized, clean, and inviting. Wine social hour was a great way to meet other guests. Just a short walk away from the downtown area. The rooms had all the amenities of home. The private balcony allowed for good conversation and drinks. Breakfast was phenomenal!! For the cost, definitely a recommendation for those passing through the Bellaire. Thank you so much for making our vacation memorable!!!

We took a "B to the fourth" vacation. Staying at a B & B then biking and stopping at breweries. It was a quickly planned vacation, just two weeks before leaving. We knew we wanted to go to Shorts Brewery so I looked online for B & B's in the area. So glad that I found the Bellaire B & B online. What a beautiful place The owners were so welcoming and the breakfast in the mornings were outstanding!!! Wished we could have stayed longer, but since I noticed that most of the other guests were repeaters, I knew that we would also return.

I reserved the room to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was delightful! The inn is charming and we felt very relaxed during our stay. The only problem was that the breakfast was so delicious we were full for the day!

Mildly secluded, yet a short walking distance into town for a meal or freshly brewed beverage. Very nice grounds and common rooms for relaxing, snacks and beverages available all day and a social glass of wine in the afternoon (included). Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Uncommon hospitality.

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at the Bellaire B&B for a few days of relaxation in northern Michigan. We strayed in the Tuscany room which had every comfort you might want and plenty of room to relax. The grounds are beautiful, the breakfasts are amazing and the innkeepers are wonderful.

The room we stayed in (Tuscany) was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There were snacks and drinks available 24/7. The grounds surrounding the B&B are gorgeous! The location was convenient, within walking distance to downtown Bellaire and Short's Brewery and a short drive to Torch Lake and Traverse City. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bellaire B&B and would definitely vacation there again.

Room was gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable. Loved the banter of Dave and Jim...they have this role down pat! Monica was also lovely and helpful. Breakfast....yum! Everything put us at ease.

Relaxing stay,and wonderful breakfast.

My wife and I recently visited the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast for the third time, this time bringing four of our friends. As always, Jim and Dave were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing the perfect blend of relaxing activities available at the B&B and time and assistance in helping us enjoy the surrounding area. They were willing to work the breakfast menu around food requests for our party, and still provided a fantastic meal. Even better, I believe (though don't know for sure) that they sorted guests into rooms such that our party had a significant amount of space to ourselves, allowing us to enjoy the common areas without worrying about disturbing other guests. Of all the B&Bs my wife and I have stayed at, Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is the only one I am 100% sure we will visit again. Great job, Dave and Jim!

Bellaire Bed & Breakfast was the perfect stop on my road trip. David and Jim have created a friendly, warm, welcoming environment where one can really relax and do nothing in a beautiful setting, or, with their expert guidance, go off to see some of the wonders of the region. Have been at many B & B before, this is the absolute best!!

Wow!! If you are ever in the Bellaire/Traverse City area in northern Michigan, you have to stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. It is in a quaint, small town about a half hour's drive from TC. The main drive is lined with large trees and the house is immediately inviting. There are 5 rooms in the main house and a newer Carriage House with 4 rooms. The two buildings are connected by a breezeway where wine hour is held each afternoon from 5-6 with light hor'dourves. Some rooms have fireplaces and some jacuzzi tubs. The common areas, including the wrap-around front porch are very relaxing. There are also two hammocks for lounging in the yard, Dave is the master breakfast maker and Jim takes care of the beautiful grounds. This is a perfect, peaceful retreat with many day trips available in the area. They offer specials throughout the year and helped us celebrate our anniversary with a complimentary bottle of champagne. We highly recommend this one and will be going back again soon!! We spent two nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The social hour gave us a chance to meet other guests and find out all about the great places to eat in and around Bellaire. The breakfasts were delicious (the raspberry stuffed french toast was unbelievable). We will definitely make a return to this beautiful, restful place.

Jim and Dave go beyond to make your stay a great experience. The wine social hour from 5 to 6 is a great time to get to know the owners and ask questions about things to do in the area. The breakfast at 9:00 is amazing... we have had several occasions now to experience the breakfast at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast and something you do not want to miss. Jim loves to garden and the grounds showcase his hard work. Take time to stop and spend a night or two or.... at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast.

Words cannot express how wonderful this place is! This was my 5th visit to this Bed and Breakfast. Each time I visit I feel as though I am coming home! Dave and Jim do a wonderful job at making their guests feel special. This visit was for my bachelorette party and I was so happy to share this place with my friends. The rooms include everything you could possibly need for a vacation. The breakfasts are outstanding and you never leave hungry!!! The inn keepers also wrap up leftovers for you to take with you of the baked goods. This Bed and Breakfast offers a wine hour, which is great to attend because you get a chance to know the owners and meet other people standing at the B&B. Bellaire is a quaint little town which many great shops and restaurants to visit! The B&B have mugs at Shorts Brewery you may use for a discount. If you are looking for a great Up North experience be sure to visit this place.

The room we stayed is beautifully decorated and updated with nice atmorsphere. The hosts are absolutely friendly and helpful. We had a great memory at Bellaire B&B.

We have stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. Jim and Dave made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We appreciate the extra amenities they provide. Breakfast is wonderful. We will go back in the future.

Bellaire B&B is truly a world-class property. Had the pleasure to visit in April (2012) and we were thrilled by the property and service. I am also allergic to dogs and cats and although they do have them on the property, they are not allowed in the main house and I didn't have any hint of a reaction - a testament to the cleanliness of the rooms. Oh, come hungry - the breakfast is incredible.

We were greeted very warmly when we arrived by Jim and Dave. The room my husband and I stayed in(Tuscany room) exceeded our expectations for a 10 year anniversary getaway.We also enjoyed getting to know other couples during the Wine Social hour. I can not say enough about the breakfast! It was FABULOUS! You won't walk away hungry and if you do then that is your fault. lol... Kudos to Jim and Dave

I reserved rooms at the Bellaire B&B sight unseen. I needed to be in Bellaire and the family enjoys B&Bs. For 30 years my wife and I have traveled throughout the US and Europe and, when we can, we stay at B&Bs. The Bellaire B&B is without a doubt one of the very best. Five stars all the way - and just over-the-top breakfasts.

Stayed at the Bellaire B&B for several days. I have never stayed at a B&B before and was convinced by a relative to give it a try. I would honestly have to say that it was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at any lodging that I have ever had. The only complaint I have would be the bed and pillows. The bed and pillows were just too firm for my liking. Now taking into account that those are more "personal preferences", I understand that some people prefer that type of bedding. Jim and Dave were extremely hospitable, and both went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Every day breakfast was different. And every day you felt that there was no way they could out do themselves, which they continued to do during our entire stay. The grounds were immaculate and everywhere you looked you saw their "personal touch". The most enjoyable time for me would have to be waking up as the sun came up and smelling the breakfast being made. After showering and making my way downstairs, I found the coffee already made and waiting. Taking a cup of coffee and venturing out on the front porch I was able to sit and relax, enjoying the sun coming up and watching the birds and squirrels start their day. The only thing that would have made this visit even more perfect would be if my wife could have made the trip with me. I think a future trip will definitely be in the makings.

My daughter and niece went with me to stay at this lovely place. We truly enjoyed everything about it. We decided one night was not long enough to enjoy everything.

Another amazing stay at the Bellaire B&B--enhanced this time by the delicious and fun Shorts Lovers Weekend. We love that our favorite room, the Tuscany, can be a destination stay for us as it is a great space in which to read, nap, visit quietly, and gaze out the window at the lovely scenery--this time it was to watch spring emerging from winter. Thanks, Jim, for the lovely grounds--such pretty spring flowers already in bloom. Thanks, Dave, for the delicious breakfasts. You couldn't ask for better service or accommodations. Every detail has been thought of and carried out to perfection. The rooms are magnificent, the breakfasts are delightful, and the atmosphere is almost magical. This is the perfect getaway spot for couples, friends, family gatherings, special occasions or just some R&R.

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was a home (although much nicher than ours) away from home. The service was wonderful and welcoming, given in such a way that makes you want to stay there an extra night. If you are ever in the North Country (Northern MI) this is the place to stay.

We have stayed at the Bellaire B&B before and know that we can depend on them for a luxurious and sparkling clean room, as well as creatively delicious breakfasts. There are lots of little touches, like fresh-baked cookies at our bedside, turndown service, and a guest living room stocked with snacks, pop, coffee, ice water, etc. Great place to feel pampered and get away from it all.

My wife and I travel often and stay in B&B's when ever possible. Jim and Dave are so attentive to detail and their guests enjoyment that you instantly feel pampered. We came back for more! My wife and I are travel often. For our mid winter break we came back to the Bellaire B&B to celebrate our 30th anniversary weekend. As before, we greatly enjoyed the Tuscany Room with it's huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The bedroom with balcony also has a wonderful, warm gas log fireplace and love seat. The views outside are of a winter wonderland. At the gourmet breakfast we really enjoyed the company of other couples having a good time too. Never had a better breakfast! We walked 5 minutes downtown and enjoyed great meals at Lulu's and Shorts. On Saturday night we had the great pleasure of discovering a terrific new band at Shorts too. For a weekend to remember fondly stay at the Bellaire B&B and enjoy it all. We've already reserved our room for next year! Doug and Laurie from Traverse City

This was the most fabulous weekend get away I have ever had the privilege of experiencing! While there are great adventures abounding right outside the door in the delightful town of Bellaire - you won't want to leave the luxurious comfort and hospitality Jim and Dave have created in their bed and breakfast. We couldn't stop marveling at all the careful details and thoughtful amenities that seemed never ending. DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST - amazing, delicious and if I could find a way to sneak out those recipes I would - Baked Oatmeal, Tollhouse Scones, Raspberry Danish, Banana Bread, delicious house blend coffee, cherry juice, etc..!! We also had the chance to join our hosts during their "Manager's Hour" for a little conversation and drinks; delightful, interesting wines and a whitefish pate I'll be dreaming about for a while!! We stayed in the Brighton Room in the carriage house and it was so perfect I almost hate to spread the word for fear it won't be available!! King sized brass bed, oversized claw-foot tub (with an assortment of bubble baths), overstuffed chairs, fireplace, softest throw blankets, dvd player, books and all gorgeously appointed and squeeky clean!! A quick jaunt downstairs to a common living room afforded more books, games, newspapers, snacks, sodas, glass and plateware - anything you could think of! And did I mention homebaked, hot out of the oven cookies at turn down service?!?! You absolutely MUST stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast!

Outstanding from start to finish! My wife and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts, and this one was the most comfortable. Warm and inviting- would highly reccomend. The food was amazing, but come hungry! You will leave with leftovers..

I recently spent a couple nights here with my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. It was fabulous! We stayed in the tuscany room and it was supremely clean and relaxing. The bed was deluxe with a beautiful gas fireplace at its feet. The jetted tub was huge and clean and they provided bath salts, amongst many other things (i.e., fresh baked cookies every morning!, water soda and snacks, the list goes on...) The hosts are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The property is GORGEOUS! I can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B. We will be planning a trip back! (p.s.... a 0.3 mile, 5 minute, walk to Short's Brewery... PERFECT!)

This is the place to stay for if you want to experience everything that a bed & breakfast should be. This was our second visit and we hope to come back again. The hosts, David & Jim, have thought of absolutely everything to make guests comfortable. Each room is uniquely decorated and perfectly clean. The library is inviting with its fireplace, wine and snacks, and good company. The breakfast is to die for! We enjoyed rasberry stuffed French toast with maple syrup, fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade muffins, and breakfast sausage along with specialty coffee and drinks. You will not be disappointed!

This was our second time staying here and the food, rooms, and hosts were outstanding.

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was our first experience outside of a hotel, and was truly wonderful. We stayed in the carriage house, had lots of privacy, a beautifully spacious room with lots of fun decorations, and by far the cleanest place we've ever stayed at. We loved having access to hot water with tea, how the owners specialized the meals for us, and that every time we left our room "fairies" came in and made it look lovely for us. We've already re-booked out next stay.

The Bellaire B&B is the finest we have ever stayed in (and we've been around)! Jim and Dave have thought of every detail and perfected them. The inn is so beautiful and immaculately clean. My husband and I have spent our anniversary here the last three years in a row and can't imagine going anywhere else. Wine time in the evening is a nice way to get to know the hosts and other guests. Dave's breakfasts are phenomenal!! I really can't say enough about the inn or recommend it highly enough! Also check out Lulu's in town for a four star meal.

We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves upgraded to a fabulous room with a fireplace on a cool fall weekend. We loved the hospitality, all the little "comforts" and our hosts. The food was over the top as well.

My husband and I visited Bellaire for a quick trip for my birthday. Upon arrival, the staff was waiting for us and they even gave us a complimentary upgrade since there was some work being done below the room we had reserved. Also, because it was my birthday they gifted us a lovely bottle of champagne! The room was fantastic and super clean, and I don't even know where to start with the amazing breakfast! As their saying goes, "If you're hungry before 2:00pm, then you were too polite!" I definitely wasn't hungry before 2:00 ;-) I would recommend this B&B to anyone, and we cannot wait to go back!

We stayed in the beautiful Mackinaw room. Everything was excepional. The room, the grounds, the service, and the most wonderful breakfast ever! Jim and Dave were warm and friendly and paid attention to every detail. A most wonderful getaway.

We stumbled upon Bellaire Bed and Breakfast back in 2007, have stayed several times, and have recommended it to so many of our friends. Its a beautiful bed and breakfast, and the hosts Jim and Dave are warm and welcoming...food has always been wonderful too!! We have stayed in several bnb's and this is by far our favorite.

We have stayed at this B & B three times now and every visit is wonderful. The innkeepers are warm and inviting, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, the inn is pristine, and the food is fabulous. We have stayed in two different rooms - the largest and the smallest and both exceeded our expectations. The cookies in the room on arrival are delicious. The wine and appetizers are a great treat in the early evening and also allow you to mingle with other guests. Breakfast is delicious and they cater to any dietary needs - I am vegetarian and they happily accommodated my needs and those of my meat-eating husband! This B & B is conveniently located to downtown - easy walk to Short's or Lulu's which we also recommend. All in all, always a wonderful experience.

This is our hands down absolute favorite place to stay in northern MI. We stay here every year...sometimes multiple times a season! Jim and Dave immediately make you feel like old friends visiting again and again. The grounds are breath-taking while also maintaining a feel of cozy comfort. The main house and carriage house are impeccably decorated. You will quickly feel right at home in any season! And breakfast is always amazing!! There are a variety of rooms and prices for any budget (and they offer specials!) Don't pass up an opportunity to try this beautiful experience! You won't regret it!!

The B&B is located close to town which is perfect for walking to shops and dinner. Shorts Brewery is a fun place to visit and try different micro brews. There are not a lot of restaurants on the main strip. The B&B is beautiful and the Savannah room is very relaxing and comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and the wine and appetizer hour is a nice touch. Exceptionally clean and the breakfast was very filling and tasty. I would highly recommend this B&B! We will return!

Weather was lousy so we couldn't take advantage of the porch or grounds but the stay was still great. Local eating establishments were terrific and the B & B with its wine hour, quiet night and first class breakfast made it special.

The stay in the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was fabulous. It started with Monica, who tried to accommodate all of our many wishes to find a good restaurant for dinner. We arrived late, however the innkeeper David still took the time to great us, chat with us and he also gave us great advice on how to spend this late evening in Bellaire. The room was fantastic, tasteful and clean. It was a room that made you feel comfortable from the first minute. It was the 50th birthday of my husband and they surprised us with a very tasty bottle of champagne. In the morning the second innkeeper Jim provided interesting morning conversation accompanied by a great breakfast. I stayed fro 2 nights during a slow time, just needed to get away fro awhile. Jim was the epitome of a good host and was very helpful in finding things to do nearby. The breakfasts were awesome. I will definitely be going back hopefully for a longer stay and to try one of the rooms in the carriage house.

Our stay at the Bellaire B&B exceeded every expectation. The owners are wonderful people who love what they do and provide their customers with the details one would afford family staying over for the holidays! the gourmet breakfasts were to die for and and afternoon wine and appetizers were great after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Very beautiful B & B. We had a very relaxing 4 days in the up north area.

I have stayed at the Bellaire B&B before. As usual, my recent stay was perfect: clean, beautiful home and grounds, hospitable, welcoming, excellent breakfast and wine hour and pleasant fellow lodgers.

Hosts and guests were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The evening glass of wine was nice, we enjoyed White Fish dinner in town, then had a good nights sleep. Room very quiet. Breakfast super, as we left commented to each other, "I could do that again soon"

Innkeepers thought of everything to make it a wonderful stay. Beautiful landscaping & plentiful porch seating were so inviting...perfect place for a relaxing drink.

We arrived as guests and left feeling like family. Hospitality abounds from the owners, staff, and the guests who choose to stay here again and again. Don't miss wine hour at 5 pm, and don't miss the opportunity to meet the wonderful dogs, Mr. Chips and Tucker, during wine hour.

Jim and Dave really know how to do it. They were wonderful hosts that not only made us feel comfortable, but were helpful in leading us in directions on how to spend our days and evenings. They know a lot about there surrounding area. And the food, oh my, the food is always exquisite and more than anyone could possible eat. I highly recommend all my friends to go and stay.

The Bellaire B&B is a beautiful "home away from home" spot, great for a special night or two away or just to use as a base while exploring the delights of Northern Michigan. The rooms are all beautifully furnished, the gardens are lovely, and innkeepers Jim and Dave provide both friendly service and fantastic food. The family style breakfasts are absolutely incredible--creative, bountiful, and delicious.

This B and B is all it's cracked up to be. What you see on the website is what you get! The Bellaire B and B is a lovely haven. David and Jim are master innkeepers with impeccable taste and attention to detail. Anything you could possibly need or want is available here! Bellaire is a darling town with cute shops and good restaurants. Traveling alone I felt safe and well taken care of. I will return soon!
