Bellaire Bed & Breakfast

We came back for more! My wife and I are travel often. For our mid winter break we came back to the Bellaire B&B to celebrate our 30th anniversary weekend. As before, we greatly enjoyed the Tuscany Room with it's huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The bedroom with balcony also has a wonderful, warm gas log fireplace and love seat. The views outside are of a winter wonderland. At the gourmet breakfast we really enjoyed the company of other couples having a good time too. Never had a better breakfast! We walked 5 minutes downtown and enjoyed great meals at Lulu's and Shorts. On Saturday night we had the great pleasure of discovering a terrific new band at Shorts too. For a weekend to remember fondly stay at the Bellaire B&B and enjoy it all. We've already reserved our room for next year! Doug and Laurie from Traverse City

This was the most comfortable, relaxing and beautiful place I've ever stayed in Michigan. The attention to detail was excellent. The entire stay was outstanding! I will definitely go back.

This was the most fabulous weekend get away I have ever had the privilege of experiencing! While there are great adventures abounding right outside the door in the delightful town of Bellaire - you won't want to leave the luxurious comfort and hospitality Jim and Dave have created in their bed and breakfast. We couldn't stop marveling at all the careful details and thoughtful amenities that seemed never ending. DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST - amazing, delicious and if I could find a way to sneak out those recipes I would - Baked Oatmeal, Tollhouse Scones, Raspberry Danish, Banana Bread, delicious house blend coffee, cherry juice, etc..!! We also had the chance to join our hosts during their "Manager's Hour" for a little conversation and drinks; delightful, interesting wines and a whitefish pate I'll be dreaming about for a while!! We stayed in the Brighton Room in the carriage house and it was so perfect I almost hate to spread the word for fear it won't be available!! King sized brass bed, oversized claw-foot tub (with an assortment of bubble baths), overstuffed chairs, fireplace, softest throw blankets, dvd player, books and all gorgeously appointed and squeeky clean!! A quick jaunt downstairs to a common living room afforded more books, games, newspapers, snacks, sodas, glass and plateware - anything you could think of! And did I mention homebaked, hot out of the oven cookies at turn down service?!?! You absolutely MUST stay at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast!

Outstanding from start to finish! My wife and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts, and this one was the most comfortable. Warm and inviting- would highly reccomend. The food was amazing, but come hungry! You will leave with leftovers..

I recently spent a couple nights here with my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. It was fabulous! We stayed in the tuscany room and it was supremely clean and relaxing. The bed was deluxe with a beautiful gas fireplace at its feet. The jetted tub was huge and clean and they provided bath salts, amongst many other things (i.e., fresh baked cookies every morning!, water soda and snacks, the list goes on...) The hosts are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The property is GORGEOUS! I can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B. We will be planning a trip back! (p.s.... a 0.3 mile, 5 minute, walk to Short's Brewery... PERFECT!)

This is the place to stay for if you want to experience everything that a bed & breakfast should be. This was our second visit and we hope to come back again. The hosts, David & Jim, have thought of absolutely everything to make guests comfortable. Each room is uniquely decorated and perfectly clean. The library is inviting with its fireplace, wine and snacks, and good company. The breakfast is to die for! We enjoyed rasberry stuffed French toast with maple syrup, fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade muffins, and breakfast sausage along with specialty coffee and drinks. You will not be disappointed!

This was our second time staying here and the food, rooms, and hosts were outstanding.

The Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was our first experience outside of a hotel, and was truly wonderful. We stayed in the carriage house, had lots of privacy, a beautifully spacious room with lots of fun decorations, and by far the cleanest place we've ever stayed at. We loved having access to hot water with tea, how the owners specialized the meals for us, and that every time we left our room "fairies" came in and made it look lovely for us. We've already re-booked out next stay.

The Bellaire B&B is the finest we have ever stayed in (and we've been around)! Jim and Dave have thought of every detail and perfected them. The inn is so beautiful and immaculately clean. My husband and I have spent our anniversary here the last three years in a row and can't imagine going anywhere else. Wine time in the evening is a nice way to get to know the hosts and other guests. Dave's breakfasts are phenomenal!! I really can't say enough about the inn or recommend it highly enough! Also check out Lulu's in town for a four star meal.

We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves upgraded to a fabulous room with a fireplace on a cool fall weekend. We loved the hospitality, all the little "comforts" and our hosts. The food was over the top as well.

My husband and I visited Bellaire for a quick trip for my birthday. Upon arrival, the staff was waiting for us and they even gave us a complimentary upgrade since there was some work being done below the room we had reserved. Also, because it was my birthday they gifted us a lovely bottle of champagne! The room was fantastic and super clean, and I don't even know where to start with the amazing breakfast! As their saying goes, "If you're hungry before 2:00pm, then you were too polite!" I definitely wasn't hungry before 2:00 ;-) I would recommend this B&B to anyone, and we cannot wait to go back!

We stayed in the beautiful Mackinaw room. Everything was excepional. The room, the grounds, the service, and the most wonderful breakfast ever! Jim and Dave were warm and friendly and paid attention to every detail. A most wonderful getaway.

We stumbled upon Bellaire Bed and Breakfast back in 2007, have stayed several times, and have recommended it to so many of our friends. Its a beautiful bed and breakfast, and the hosts Jim and Dave are warm and welcoming...food has always been wonderful too!! We have stayed in several bnb's and this is by far our favorite.

We have stayed at this B & B three times now and every visit is wonderful. The innkeepers are warm and inviting, the rooms are lovely and comfortable, the inn is pristine, and the food is fabulous. We have stayed in two different rooms - the largest and the smallest and both exceeded our expectations. The cookies in the room on arrival are delicious. The wine and appetizers are a great treat in the early evening and also allow you to mingle with other guests. Breakfast is delicious and they cater to any dietary needs - I am vegetarian and they happily accommodated my needs and those of my meat-eating husband! This B & B is conveniently located to downtown - easy walk to Short's or Lulu's which we also recommend. All in all, always a wonderful experience.

This is our hands down absolute favorite place to stay in northern MI. We stay here every year...sometimes multiple times a season! Jim and Dave immediately make you feel like old friends visiting again and again. The grounds are breath-taking while also maintaining a feel of cozy comfort. The main house and carriage house are impeccably decorated. You will quickly feel right at home in any season! And breakfast is always amazing!! There are a variety of rooms and prices for any budget (and they offer specials!) Don't pass up an opportunity to try this beautiful experience! You won't regret it!!

The B&B is located close to town which is perfect for walking to shops and dinner. Shorts Brewery is a fun place to visit and try different micro brews. There are not a lot of restaurants on the main strip. The B&B is beautiful and the Savannah room is very relaxing and comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and the wine and appetizer hour is a nice touch. Exceptionally clean and the breakfast was very filling and tasty. I would highly recommend this B&B! We will return!

Weather was lousy so we couldn't take advantage of the porch or grounds but the stay was still great. Local eating establishments were terrific and the B & B with its wine hour, quiet night and first class breakfast made it special.

As soon as you meet your hosts you know you are staying someplace special. From the nightly wine parties, to the most amazing breakfasts ever, a stay at Bellaire is sure to please. Jim and Dave are to be commended for providing their guests with more than just a room--you come away experiencing something magical.

The stay in the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was fabulous. It started with Monica, who tried to accommodate all of our many wishes to find a good restaurant for dinner. We arrived late, however the innkeeper David still took the time to great us, chat with us and he also gave us great advice on how to spend this late evening in Bellaire. The room was fantastic, tasteful and clean. It was a room that made you feel comfortable from the first minute. It was the 50th birthday of my husband and they surprised us with a very tasty bottle of champagne. In the morning the second innkeeper Jim provided interesting morning conversation accompanied by a great breakfast. Everything is immaculate here and the owners are wonderful hosts. The fact that we've been back 7 times in the past 9 years should say a lot! Breakfasts are so delicious, the rooms are clean and every detail is thought of. Can't recommend it enough!

I stayed fro 2 nights during a slow time, just needed to get away fro awhile. Jim was the epitome of a good host and was very helpful in finding things to do nearby. The breakfasts were awesome. I will definitely be going back hopefully for a longer stay and to try one of the rooms in the carriage house.

One of the cleanest places I've every stayed! The linens were so soft and comfortable. Top notch towels too! Such nice guys! We had a wonderful time!

Our stay at the Bellaire B&B exceeded every expectation. The owners are wonderful people who love what they do and provide their customers with the details one would afford family staying over for the holidays! the gourmet breakfasts were to die for and and afternoon wine and appetizers were great after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Very beautiful B & B. We had a very relaxing 4 days in the up north area.

I have stayed at the Bellaire B&B before. As usual, my recent stay was perfect: clean, beautiful home and grounds, hospitable, welcoming, excellent breakfast and wine hour and pleasant fellow lodgers.

Hosts and guests were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The evening glass of wine was nice, we enjoyed White Fish dinner in town, then had a good nights sleep. Room very quiet. Breakfast super, as we left commented to each other, "I could do that again soon"

Innkeepers thought of everything to make it a wonderful stay. Beautiful landscaping & plentiful porch seating were so inviting...perfect place for a relaxing drink.

The Bellaire B&B is a beautiful "home away from home" spot, great for a special night or two away or just to use as a base while exploring the delights of Northern Michigan. The rooms are all beautifully furnished, the gardens are lovely, and innkeepers Jim and Dave provide both friendly service and fantastic food. The family style breakfasts are absolutely incredible--creative, bountiful, and delicious.

This B and B is all it's cracked up to be. What you see on the website is what you get! The Bellaire B and B is a lovely haven. David and Jim are master innkeepers with impeccable taste and attention to detail. Anything you could possibly need or want is available here! Bellaire is a darling town with cute shops and good restaurants. Traveling alone I felt safe and well taken care of. I will return soon!

We hit a home run by staying at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. By first sight, driving up the tree-lined driveway, I knew that this was something special. The grounds were impeccable; the room was perfect in every way; the breakfast was to die for. This was probably the best B&B that we have stayed in. Thank you so much!!

Instead of going to Sonoma Valley in CA to wine country tour, we decided on the drive up north and toured the Tasting Rooms on Old Mission Peninsula. The Inn is beautifully situated in the lake and wine country... when we weren't lounging in the hammock after a superb breakfast. Oh and the 5-6pm wine hour was outstanding.

Your facility is stupendous. Even better are the innkeepers - professional, friendly, always out to assure a great stay. We will be back - again and again!

We had a fantastic stay the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. The wine hour was a great way to socialize and the staff offered great suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area. The grounds were well kept and inviting. We especially enjoyed the privilege of being a "Mug Member" for a night at Short's :) We are already planning our next visit!

This isn't the first time I've stayed at this bed and breakfast. Every time I come, I'm never disappointed. The grounds are immaculate, gorgeous and calming. The rooms are charming and comfortable. The breakfast is something you will never forget. And don't forget about happy hour. From the cookies before bed to the chocolate truffles at checkout, you will come away feeling relaxed and spoiled. I can't say I've stayed at another bed and breakfast that even compares to this.

My husband and I have stayed at a few b&bs over the years and the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast is by far the best. The owners welcome you like your family and you instantly feel at ease. We stayed in the Mackinac room, but had a chance to peek in others. Each room is beautifully decorated and spacious with its own personality. The carriage house has its own inviting living area apart from the main house, so guests are not on top of each other. A covered walkway connects the two buildings, which is a very nice feature during a downpour. As a gardener, I loved the flower beds Jim has created. Our hosts have been in the business 15 years and have got it down! We will definitely go back. Cheryl Weeks-Rosten

Our room, "Brighton" was meticulously cleaned and beautifully appointed, with a serene view overlooking the back gardens and woods. The British seaside theme with details of monkeys, parrots and lovely big comfy wingback chair. Not kitschy, but sophisticated fun. We always meet the most interesting people at Wine Hour and breakfast (which is scrumptious). When we return next month, I don't think we'll even get in our car to drive anywhere, but just walk to downtown, shop, dine and go bike riding. How relaxing.

From the moment we arrived we were given the white glove treatment. There was nothing more they could have done to make our visit more enjoyable and relaxing. Fresh cookies in our room when we arrived was just the start. We enjoyed sitting on the beautifully decorated porch with outstanding landscaping surrounding us while we enjoyed a glass of wine with the owners and other guests. I could go on about breakfast too. It was a great getaway for my husband and I.

The Savannah Room was beautiful, but I did encounter a problem trying to get my sister to leave the Fainting Couch. It seems that it was too comfortable! Once I got her up off the fainting couch, Dave and Jim provided a delicious breakfast and outstanding service.

This was an anniversary gift from our daughters. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to return again just as a treat for us.

This B and B in Bellaire was beyond anything that we ever expected. The room, the Savannah Room, was gorgeous and you would swear it had just opened- plus chocolate chip cookies each night. Wonderful, wonderful breakfast plus a wine hour from 5-6 every night. The hosts, Dave and Jim, made us feel so welcome- and it is beyond clean!! Please check it out and stay here- the area is great for walking too.

We had a most relaxing stay at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast! Our room was comfortable with very quiet surroundings. The Bellaire B & B had many amenities available to us, including wine tasting, massages, great food, informative discussions about the home & its original owners, home-made chocolate cookies in our room and very helpful data regarding the town of Bellaire and its surrounding area.

Our nearly last minute request for an accomodation at Bellaire Bed and Breakfast was not only granted, but enthusiatically offered. We are seasoned B&Bers and everything at Bellaire was a notch above wonderful, especially the gormet breakfast, served with pride and a touch of storytelling and humor by our host.

No one takes care of all the details like the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. I've been a Hospitality manager for almost 20 years now and I am always professionally and personally impressed with their operation!

We have stayed in Belaire area for many years. This place is a jewel. Every detail is thought of and attended to. We enjoy everything about the place: the rooms, grounds, people, food and well behaved dogs. Just go!

I purchased a gift certificate as a Christmas gift for my husband, we have stayed in Bellaire before but not at the Bellaire B&B. everything was great including the weather. we had a wonderful time and will certainly be back. maybe try it in the summer months.

Our Christmas gift to each other this year was the three-night stay at the Bellaire B&B, where we had enjoyed three previous stays this year. It was a wonderful decision, as David & Jim went above and beyond our expectations to make this a gift in many ways, including the gorgeous decorated Christmas tree in our room and the bottle of champagne to celebrate our retirements from academia. The breakfasts are delicious, with lovely taste treats and special attention to dietary needs as an added bonus. Conversation in the library, with the fireplace alight to warm us, was a special treat, too! Thank you, Jim and David, for your wonderful hospitality and special care!

We absolutely love this B & B! That, of course, is why we return at every opportunity. This is the first time we've seen it decked out for the holidays--truly lovely. Add the 6 inches of snow we had while we were there and it was a winter wonderland. Dave and Jim are fantastic hosts. The breakfast is so good and abundant that we never have to eat again until supper. If you like to be pampered and feel special while relaxing in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to go!

This is a lovely place for a relaxing experience. The innkeepers create a friendly climate. There is lively conversation during happy hour beside the fire, excitement about the breakfast menu, and attention to every detail.

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience at the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. We only had a one-night stay, and had booked one of the more modest rooms in the main house to keep costs down. When we arrived, we were offered a much larger, more luxurious room in their carriage house at no additional cost; they were hosting a murder mystery dinner (which we had been invited to but declined because of previously scheduled plans with friends), and worried that the associated noise might disturb us. The hosts also had menus on hand for all local restaurants, and could recommend specific dishes from each one. We were spoiled the entire time we were there, starting with the fresh-made chocolate chip cookies waiting for us in our room. They had snacks and water/soda available at all times if we needed, as well as a DVD library for use. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic. Although I lack the eloquence to appropriately describe it, the feature was a wonderful baked egg dish, with side dishes of maple-pecan bacon, vegetarian sausage, jam-filled muffins, and very fresh fruit with yogurt. Even without the very thoughtful room upgrade, the experience would have been outstanding on all counts. To put it simply--my wife and I are not usually the type to stay at a B&B, and we have plenty of friends we can stay with when we visit northern Michigan, but we will DEFINITELY return to the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast. Excellent job, David and Jim!

These guys know how to spoil you, with beautifully decorated and sparkling clean rooms, cookies on the bedside table, delicious breakfasts, and wine in the afternoon....the lovingly restored Victorian house is beautiful and well-kept, sitting at the end of a long driveway lined with trees. You can hide in your room and relax or socialize with other guests; the hosts are very personable and knowledgeable about the area if you want to get out and about. We particularly recommend the carriage house rooms, as they are large with extra amenities, and just steps across the porch from the main house. Five stars.

The B&B was hosting a murder mystery dinner in the main home for which we did not have reservations so upon arrival we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a more quieter room. The service and attentiveness was impeccable. The food is always quite dilectable. We will return once again!

David & Jim run a top notch operation with an extreme attention to detail. We always know we will have a fun and relaxing weekend right in the middle of so many things to do!

My wife and I visited for a couple of days and it was much more than I had hoped for. The breakfasts are delicious and the hosts are extremely pleasant. We were already trying to figure out when we were going to come back before we even left!

We stayed two nights and quality was consistant both nights. On each night, amongst the other guests were return visitors. There really wasn't much that could have been improved upon. The inn-keepers ensured that guests were introduced and conversation barriers, if any, broken. Recommendations for dining and attractions were thoughtful and knowledgable.

This B&B is one block off the main road so there wasn't any traffic noise. It was a beautiful old home with lovely landscape. The owners were very warm and accommodating,"made us a lovely early breakfast since we had a meeting to attend. Bellaire had wonderful shopping and great food and brew for the evening entertainment. We've booked in again same time next year.

Jim and Dave made you WANT to return. You get a lot of value for your money. The food was amazing and they made you feel as if you were family spending the weekend at their house. Even the dogs added a family touch! The little town of Bellaire has some excellent restaurant options - which is an added bonus.

Oh my, Oh my... words are inadequate to describe the extraordinary bed and breakfast experience at the BelAir Bed & Breakfast. The breakfasts were a wonderful experience, the wine and "snack" hour at 5 to meet and greet a fun experience. If you enjoy escaping from the world for one day or one week, this is the place to go. The Brighton Room, reminiscent of early England, was a delight in every sense. Dave & Jim did not miss a detail in making our stay pure pleasure. Sitting by the cozy fireplace in our room, curled up with a book and a glass of wine was exactly what the doctor ordered.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. David and Jim are incredible hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay most comfortable. The house is lovely, the landscaping is beautiful and the breakfast was the best we ever had. At 5:00 p.m. wines and bread with dipping sauces were served on the covered breezeway while we visited with other guests. Our stay at Bellaire Bed & Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful find! The Bellaire B and B was more than we could have hoped for. Sitting on the front porch reading just calms the soul. The hosts were so kind helping us celebrate our anniversary with a bottle of sparkling wine and recommendations for dinner. The house and gardens are kept to a very high standard. Breakfast was over the top. We will return on our next trip to Northern Michigan.

Though brief, our stay was truly exceptional. Attention to detail is the name of the game at the Bellaire B&B. Rooms are well thought out and every potential need has been considered. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Cookies on the nightstand were a welcome touch!

We spent a night at Dave & Jim's B&B in Bellaire and will definitely be back for a longer stay. The rooms were set up beautifully and there were many places both inside and outside the house, that beckoned us to take the weight off our feet and relax. The breakfast was out of this world and the hosts were warm and welcoming. We are planning another visit in Fall.

Located in the picturesque village of Bellaire in Michigan's glorious northwest lower peninsula is the beautiful Bellaire B&B. Driving up the magnificent old tree-lined drive leads to the quiet elegance of this B&B. Warmly inviting yep beautifully appointed rooms welcome you. no detail is overlooked from a wine reception each evening, to a departing chocolate truffle. Jim and David are the consummate hosts.

Upon arrival. this B&B was different! Tree-lined driveway was inviting and ended with a majestic home and waiting host on the wrap-around porch. Once in the room my husband's exact words "I've never been so relaxed, ever."

It is rare when a traveler doesn't have even one complaint. Very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful grounds and friendly innkeepers. We recomment the Eastlake Room with the second story balcony. Superb breakfasts!

The Bellaire was a quaint, exquisite getaway tucked away in Northern MI. Jim and Dave were more than attentive to our every need and they thought of everything. The food was amazing, it was obvious a lot of thought and planning went into everything. A must

They truly are "above and beyond"! David and Jim are such gracious hosts and every little detail is taken into account in order to make you feel right at home! The rooms are elegant yet comfortable, the gardens are beautiful, and the breakfasts are delicious (and filling!) We really enjoyed the extra touches: cookies by the bed, daily wine/appetizer hour, and the wonderful hammocks for our afternoon snooze. We are already looking forward to a return visit....it can't come soon enough!

The innkeepers attended to every detail to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was amazing! They made us feel right at home.

Jim greeted us with a warm friendly smile. When we showed up very late he explained where things were. Country style breakfast was served by friendly entertaining staff. They even dried our beach towel. This space was to small for everything.

I stayed in the Savannah room in the Carriage House. It was spectacular. I couldn't have asked for more. And the food...oh the food!! I feel so welcome there. It's more like my 'other home' than an inn.

Great room--Machinac Room--Didn't want to leave the room. Super breakfasts, had to waddle back to the room. Our hosts were interesting, very accommodating, very friendly. Made you feel pampered. Loved the whole time..Going back for a longer stay.

We have stayed at the Bellaire B&B with hosts Jim and Dave many times now. The house has grown over years with the carriage house addition. But, the rest of the experience is constantly excellent. The food is superb.
