Certainly Wuthering Heights had such a room as this, with slate flooring, cozy fireplace, petite work desk (en suite wireless internet, of course), and draped "half tester" above a massive, wrought iron bedstead. Shower, A/C, telephone, private entrance leading into pond and canefruit garden. First floor, with wingback chair for a good read. Hibernation special: $99/weekend $109.Choosing the Grand Room means reading in the Gothic Kabinet bed, watching the goldfish swim amongst the lilies below and hearing the frog songs in Spring . . or pulling the rocking sette close to the fireplace on cold evenings.
Boasting more space than the other lodgings, it has served as both a retreat for old girlfriends, as well as a bridal room or lovenest. Winter special: $119/weekend $129.
Shower, wireless internet, balcony, telephone, A/C and soaring ceiling. Sleigh daybed and separate entrance.
